Muse Menu Question

I am creating a website for a builder that has a portfolio section. “Portfolio” is named as a main category, with a drop down of 5 market sectors (Education, Healthcare, etc.). There are approximately 3 projects per market sector (child pages). We do not want to have an overview page for each market sector, we just want to route/link to the first project of that market sector. I set up a sub nav on the first project page to link to the additional pages. I do not want the sub nav visible on the main menu (which is not since I have “exclude page for navigation.” Thank you and looking forward to your help asap.

Looking at the idea that you are trying to achieve , I would suggest you to go for Manual menu.
Try to create manual menu where you can create Main, Sub , Child and sibling manually and then you can link them to whatever page you wish for them.
Making this work using native Menu in Muse can be complex.

I fix the problem.
I have carefully reviewed JAVASCRIPT files and I could see that these are not a major influence within the site, only are reference code and utilities of the same application.
By removing these files nothing has stopped working, I thought I would have some error in the sliders, or opacities, but no, nothing happened.

Can a fill-in-the-blank or dropdown menu question have variable answers?

Hello -- I'm trying to create a fill-in-the-blank or dropdown menu question that allows the user to enter an anser with room for error. For example, if the user enters "0.30", then "0.28" and "0.32" would still be correct. Is there a javascript or something that would allow that? I'm willing to pay for a solution.

Perhaps so, but even with that range, I'd still likely opt for what I said earlier. It would seem simpler than devising an Advanced Action. Just list the following as acceptable answers.
0.28
0.29
0.30
0.31
0.32
And I might even go farther and list these too.
.28
.29
.30
.31
.32
But that's just me.

Muse menu editing & BC Blog - solution comments please

New to Muse & BC.
Created a site in muse, uploaded to MC no problem and added a news feed this shows on the site preview from BC but the news sub menu under in the know doesnt preview in muse.
I followed in detail the muse and BC blog tutorial video, created BC main template, added {tag_pagecontent} but I now understand that I cannot re-edit the muse menu hyperlinks.

I have tried exporting blog page from muse and excluding it to no avail.
Site structure is fairly simple but though I can preview the blog at:

the blog doesnt show up @ http://mumsformums2.businesscatalyst.com/blog.html, I just get a page not found content holder text within {tag page element}
as I have currently excluded uploading the blog page from muse, the blog page doesnt show up in my pages.
I have tred creating a new page and asigning it the name blog but I get an error on publish that the page name is already being used by mums for mums blog.
I am sure this is something on the blog side or within BC
any help would be appreciated.
OK so I get to access the blog at:

http://mumsformums2.businesscatalyst.com/blog.html
so how do I reedit the muse menu on the master and the BC Main template to point to mumsformums/blog and not blog.html?
My solution so far: I have managed to get use a redirect to the http://mumsformums2.businesscatalyst.com/blog via URL Redirect.
As the page loads the main menu state was not correct (inactive as opposed to active).....so I then created an new muse master from scatch and applied the relevant styles to the BC menu master, I guess if I need another dynamic master within BC I will have to create another that is a child of the main master within muse.
Comments would be great if this is not the correct approach.

This would need to be transparent for m'y client...

Unfortunately we cannot change site template of a live site in BC , but as a workaround Create a site from BC using the template you wish to use then publish the site from Muse to the site created from BC and transfer the contents stored from live site to trial site. Ater final transition is done , you can delete the already paid site and make live the new trial site which includes new site template.

How to edit graphic in muse menu widget

I want to change the muse menu widget from the grey rectangle to a custom graphic. I have tried making the button see through by removing the ill color and pasting the graphic into the background. This only affects the first button.
Is there a way to affect this change to each automatically generated navigational button?

You need a tick in edit all together and then look at the states panel… odds are you have a different format for one of the states.
Example of a normal manu bar = Map | Tafe nsw

You can then adjust the states to fit your design… best to have at least some difference between them so people know what to press but that’s up to you.

Adobe Muse - Menu Bar Customization

I am new to muse and have made a couple of test sites. I am not working on my first Muse site and running into the problem of customizing my menu bar. The bar no longer shows up as 4 different sections. It comes up as one big one. How do I add more sections to my menu bar and how do I change the name? Is there a way to Make the Menu an Image almost like a Photoshop button but have a Pull Down Menu. Is it possible to have a Pull Down menu?

When you drag a menu to the web page it replicates the your plan view, to show the child pages you will have to choose 'All pages' as the menu type by clicking the on the small blue icon. If you want to customize the menu the way you want you can use the option of the manual menu.

How do I import a Photoshop button (including it's different states) into the muse menu widget?

I had the idea of using the "place Photoshop button" option to configure the states in my horizontal menu bar in Muse. I started out trying to use the widget, after playing with the options it seems I can either load each individual state one at a time in manual mode or I can try to make a menu bar from the buttons and manually place the respective links. I would be grateful for a suggestion or alternative method that is as easy as the "place Photoshop button" option, I love that feature. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: I found that I could use Fill image then in import fill options, import layer + clip layer contents for each of the states. It was working very well but I noticed an error in one of my buttons states so I had to go back to Photoshop. When I returned to start this process again and I clicked import layer, the states are all flat plain text without any of the blending options I had set for each state. The odd part is that I can see all the layers in composite, but it will not let me place each layer as it did before.
After several frustrating hours going through every step I edited and even trying to load the buttons I thought were exactly the same file I used before I could not find what I had done differently to cause this. I did successfully place each Photoshop button in empty space and the cut and paste them into the menu. Which is way easier then the original method. I would like to know if anyone has an idea what went wrong for the sake of knowledge. Also thought that this cut paste method might help others trying to build menu buttons outside of Muse.

I'm afraid Photoshop is a graphics program ill suited for generating good HTML and CSS code. Use Photoshop to create your images only. Use DW to build your HTML, CSS and menus.

DVDSP3 all messed up! plus menu question

Ok, i've been using Dvd Studio Pro since it came out. This is the first time I have had any problems with it. First of all, it keeps crashing, no reason. Second, now now video will play in the viewer. Third, Items on my menu seem to be locked and i can't select any of them. Some audio and video is getting jumbled around when i import it and then add it to a track. I want to re-install but I lost my disc. I guess i should call apple for a replacment! Any of this stuff happen to anyone else?? please help?
Now another question. Is there a way to have different music play each time you go back to a menu?

YEah, you should repair permissions and probably reinstall it sounds like.
Yoy can't have different music play in one menu. You can have multiple identical menus however. You can script end jumps and connections to randonly pick a menu or you can just have the end jump or back button go to different versions of the identical menus.

Spry tabbed menu question

I would like to know if it is possible to use any of the tabs
to not only be a link to display it's content, but display it's
content only after arriving at a page that it jumps to when clicked
from another page?
Let's say you're on the home page and that home page has four
(4 including the home page) tabs defined in a menu. Each of those
tabs have content that are defined for sub pages for the main area
the tab takes you to when you click it from the home and are only
displayed when arriving from the home page after clicking the tab
you wanted to visit. Once on that page, the tab content (submenu
item links) is displayed only from that main area and other related
submenu pages.
I tried the onclick="window.location='pageurl'" in the tab
code, it seems to work, but the visibility jumps back to the home
tab content (default visibility).

Hi Tom,
Depending on how you added the eCommerce.
If you added the eCommerce to Content Holders instead of directly to the page you might still be able to use the Muse menus but will manually have to enter the menu item as it won't pick it up automatically.
The only way I could see that it would possibly work is that if you created all your pages 'templates' in Muse and add the {tag_pagecontent} tag to the content area in Muse using the Insert HTML feature. This would create the BC templates that you can then use within BC. It would take extensive Business Catalyst knowledge.
Unfortunately Muse isn't far enough along yet for nice easy integration.

Theme/menu question?

Greetings.
When I create a new project (revolution theme), and I go to "Add Movie", it adds the movie box and I then drag and drop my movie on that. all is fine.
However, when I click on play (preview) I get my main screen, the click-able movie text and I am able to click on that, but it brings up another window that has "Play Movie" and "View Chapters"
My question is, how do I just get the "play Movie" and "Chapters" as the first window to appear when inserting a DVD to play, instead of having to go through a secondary window? Does this make sense?

Try copying and pasting of the play movie link and the chapter links from their original menu to the main menu. Then delete them and the menu they were in originally. Make a backup copy of the iDVD project beforehand. I've done essentially the same thing in projects.

Scene Selection Menu Question

I will try and make this question as unconfusing as possible. I have a DVD with a basic menu screen. It offers to play the whole film or go to the scene selection menu. When I go to the scene selection menu obviously I have the option to do just that. When I select a scene (or chapter) it will play it. My question is, if I have picked the wrong scene or I just want to go back to the scene selection menu, how do I make that happen? If I press menu it will just take me back to the main menu. It seems tedious to do it that way to keep having to go back to the main menu then to the scene selections menu. In short

You can also program the remote control's functions specifically for your DVD. It's not easy to understand in the manual but it's all explained. For instance, you could program the TITLE or MENU keys to return specifically to the scene selection menu. The problem with changing the programming is that's how the key will work for your entire disk unless, of course, you can figure out how to use the user memory registers and write a little script that will have conditionals.

Basic Menu Question

I'm trying to obtain this menu: A simple menu with a still background (already have the background) with six sub categories: Each category, when clicked on, plays a video clip. So I will have six video clips. To label each video clip, there will be a still image picture.
...So in its basic sense, I am trying to achieve any menu you see in DVD movies where you go to a "Scene Selection" menu. Then I'll prbably have some text right next to the still frame, just like in a DVD menu.
One of my problems is I am unsure as to how to encode these videos to make them compatible with DVDSP.
I apologize for dumping this simple question on, but the DVD Studio Pro Help Manual is convoluted at best and I am under a tight deadline. I really appreciate any answer.

CS5 Spry Menu Question

Aloha,
I have the menu configured that way i want it, but for the life of me I cant figure out how to do the following.
I have a menu   home, about, contact etc......... The menu bar has two background images, one when you load the page and then the mouse over image. What i want to do is when your on the index.html page , the Menu link will be lite up in my case (blue) and then if you go off of that page the blue will go to the current page that is up on your screen.
I am not great with code, I have spent a few hours tring to figure it out, i have no idea if it can do that or not, but its prob super easy, I just dont know what setting i am looking for.
2ns Question.. Is there a way to make the Spry menu to look like this?    HOME    |   ABOUT     |      ETC
Right now i dont have the | in there, not sure if its possable

Thank you for posting your URL, this should be done as a matter of course.
You do need to have SpryDOMUtils.js uploaded to your SpryAssets folder for the script to work.
The following explains the working of the script

As soon as a class is added, CSS will take care of the styling. In the case that I have suggested, the CSS merely changes the background colour. This could just as happily be a background image.
If you want a different image for each menu item, then assign a class to the menu item as in
