Muse Mobile and Tablet questions!

Hi Everyone!
I have a couple of questions:
1. For one of my web pages I didn't make tablet layout. It's not an empty layout - it's not activated at all. That page is not visible on iPads. Is this because there is not tablet version and I need to make that or is that something else?
Why desktop is not visible on tablets (iPad in this case - didnt try android yet).
2. On mobiles, (layout is 380 pixels wide) android for example, when I open that site, pages are "too wide", I can move left/right a little bit, but when I tap twice it fits to the screen. I want to have everything nice on each mobile device without any action from the user. I heard about code to paste (viewport code): "<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=0"". I put this into page properties/metadata, was fine with vertical layout, but with horizontal viewing on mobile, things like full background photo slide show or other elements were displayed completely wrong. I didn't try to paste viewport code as a html in each page. Is that a reason for the problem, or is that something else? If not viewport code, what to do for universal page dimensions if something like that is possible to set at all?
3. The last problem so far to me is, when I have some images in vertical layout on mobile, lets say it looks ok. Looking in horizontal, pictures are zoomed in, and they look blurry. I see same thing viewing some mobile templates for example at themeforest.net. What to do, to get nice sharp looking image on both layouts? Is responsive widget (different pictures depends on size displayed) the answer? I know about retina (retina@x2) images, but that probably would help just for retina displays. What to do to have nice sharp looking images on both layouts on mobile version? Probably same problem is viewing tablet site at different layouts, when horizontal will be zoomed in (stretched to the sides) to fill the browser window.

Are you planning to have separate URLs for desktops, tablets and mobile devices? That seems like a logistic nightmare to maintain.
Why haven't you re-built your desktop site with FluidGrid Layouts or CSS Media Queries in DW? One site that works in all devices makes more sense.

How to make editing desktop version automatically edit mobile and tablet versions

Hello,
I have a website that is currently under development, and I was wondering if there is a way for the Mobile and Tablet versions to automatically update, when I edit the Desktop version.

If you're using Business Catalyst & Muse you can create a content holders . Place the Module on each page, then simply update the content holder via BC Admin and all pages will be updated. If you're not using Business Catalyst then you will always need to update each layout element.

How can I only justify in the mobile and tablet view and justify and indent in the desktop view?

I need to have the text to appear in the mobile and tablet view 100% wide. I need the same text indented by 200px on both side in the desktop view.

Lynda.com has excellent tutorials (video walkthroughs, exercise files, etc to complement it) that will get you going in no time. It is usually a paid subscription but it's definitely worth every penny.

If you get the basics right (1,2 & 3) DW should be very easy to follow and so would any other authoring software. End of the day, DW is only an application to author with and not a language/ code in itself - it's on the last of my list.

Mobil and Tablet

Hey,
I am about to launch a new website, I have a mobil and a tablet version to it. the website works, but the mobil and the tablet sides have bugs.
on the ipad it is good, as well as on surface RT, but the other versions for other tablets like Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, Kindel Fire HD 8.9" and Nexus are messed up.
With the mobile site it is the same thing.
It works only on one version, iPhone 5s but not on 4s or samsung galaxy or nokia lumnia. the layout is messed up and buttons are suddendly gone.
I tried a lot of things, built the whole thing from the beginning, but nothing worked.
Can anybody help?
Does anyone have the same problems?

I was very excited as to how easy it was to set up my basic format but now have been 3 days trying to figure out why fluid grids is so fragile. Please advise

I then tried to apply a "height:85VH to the section layout in css design.
I don't recommend using Viewport Units yet. As you can see from the chart below, they are not quite ready for prime time usage yet. And DW's Design View does not support them.

Merging muse desktop and tablet

Not sure how wise this was, but first built a desktop site, then started a tablet site in a separate file because I didn't want to upload the tablet-in-progress to my FTP host.
Can I now merge the two files? If so, how is it best to do this?

For the class .footer_style, you need to remove the height:200px (set a min-height:200px if you want the <div> to never shrink past a certain point) and add overflow:hidden so it doesn't collapse with all those floated elements within it.
That should do it.

Content is showing on Mobile and Tablet but not desktop

Hi,
I have been using the DW templates (fluid Grid) to update my site.
Somewhere I went wrong and now the gallery content is now not showing on my imac desktop yet it is showing on my ipad and iphone:

Edge Animate issues in mobile and tablet devices

I am brand new to Edge Animate, have watched several tutorials and have done research on my problem but haven't found the answer to my problem.
I opened an HTML (5) page in Edge Animate, and animated two items on the page. I created a fade in for the name in the header, and I created a text slide in with some header text in the main content on the page. The text slide in starts at 0 opacity and 20% size off page, then as it slides in it grows to full size and reaches 100% opacity. The page (created and maintained in Dreamweaver CC) is centered in the browser window.
Everything work great in all the browsers on a regular PC. (I have tested on pc in Safari, and it seems to be fine there too.) The only issues occur when viewed on an iphone 4s, ipad, (both of which have the latest version of ios) and on a kindle fire.
On all of the above listed devices, the page starts full size, then becomes smaller, (following the 20% setting maybe???). The name fades in fine, and once the text slides in (starting small as desired and gaining size and opacity) and completes, then the page comes up to full size. BUT, it doesn't center the page in the browser. I tried loading the page both in safari and on google chrome on the ipad.
I don't know if I missed a setting in the export, or if there is something I have done wrong in the creation of the animation? I've tried different settings, and now I am hoping to get some advice from this community. Thank you in advance.

Hopefully we will find someone with some idea of what is happening. Fairly new program, I guess.
My larger issue by far at this point is figuring out how I am supposed to be saving the project (existing html work) so that it stays in the page if I make changes to the page in dreamweaver. I have watched every tutorial I can find on opening an existing html page in AE, animating a couple of elements on the page (which is very cool that we can do that!), and the odd thing is all the tutorials take you through the opening and animating, but then they don't say, "to save the project in your site folder....it just ends with animate and viola!!
So I create the animations, save the project--which places a "publish" folder in my site root folder and when I look in the publish folder, Animate has created duplicate html pages of ALL my pages, not just the one I animated, and they are all in the "publish" folder. If I publish the site, the animations work (but my navigation no longer does because, I believe, it is using the publish folder not the site root folder) until I make a change in Dreamweaver CC to the page I animated. Then the animations no longer work!
I'm obviously not saving or publishing the project correctly, but for the life of me, I have not been able to find the RIGHT way to save an existing html page in an existing site root folder...

The mobile and tablet version of my site wont scroll at all...

It works in the preview, but not when its published. Also the menu does not work in windows. The site is http://darylsimmons.com.

I think it might have something to do with the full screen background image.
I would try removing the image and doing another test.
Your menu item seems to be placed on a layer which moves once you start scrolling. You will need to modify how your menu is setup.

Muse mobile site and desktop site

I have made two seperate muse sites, one mobile and tablet and the other desktop.
I want to put them together?? With having to redo either of them, there must be a way

Using Muse, I was wondering if there is a way to convert a website that is already built into a mobile website. I have no idea how the website was originally built. My client is asking me to build a mobile site for his current site without touching his desktop site. His site was originally built in Dreamweaver I think but he have no way of finding the files and lost contact with his original designer. We don't want to start a new site from scratch with a new domain because he is afraid of losing his seo work.
In other words. My client site was build in Dreamweaver or something else. I am not a programer and was going to use muse to make his mobile site. So the question is how do I link a muse made mobile site to his desktop site?

Cant conect to mobile or tablet

I have connected my printer to my lapstop and have the wireless connection working but am unable to connect my mobile and tablet asit is asking - HP_Print_E3-Offficejet 4630 password. I cannot find this anywhere. Does anyone know?

You can modify your Wireless Direct Password via the printer EWS page.
Here is how you access your EWS page.

Open your browser to a New Tab
Open a connection to your printer's IP address so you can manage the EWS setup
You could find out your printer's IP address from the network manual or print out a network test page.
Example:
URL: 192.168.2.18
Click on tab Network > Select HP Wireless Direct >> Edit Settings
NOTES:
If you have assigned a Password to your EWS, at some point you may have to enter that to continue.
When the page is directed to the Web Direct setup, you may see warnings about invalid certificates -- allow all using whatever commands are required (OK, I know the risks, whatever...)

Mobile devise not detecting Muse mobile site

I have published my site which has a desktop, mobile and tablet versions. My smart phone is not detecting the mobile site, it displays the desktop site. HELP!!

Thanks for the reply Aish. I resolved the issue. It looks like when you only Publish the site to the temporary Catalyst site, it must not publish the different versions of the site separately. I exported ast HTML and uploaded via FTP to my site and it worked! Now I can see the appropriate sites in their respective platforms.

Firefox Sync doesn't sync bookmarks between smartphone and tablet.Works fine between desktop and mobiles.

I have a desktop,smartphone and tablet.They all have the latest FX35.They are all signed in and connected to Sync.Sync is the latest version and it works with email and password, instead of pins.On all devices, Sync is configured to sync all items(bookmarks,tabs etc).
When I enabled Sync on smartphone and tablet, they got my desktop's bookmarks without a problem.They appear in a folder named desktop bookmarks.All the changes reflect properly between smartphone-desktop and tablet-desktop, but, the bookmarks do not sync between smartphone-tablet.
When I open a tab on the smartphone, after a while it appear on tablet's Synced Tabs page.Vice verse is true also.So at least some syncing exists between smartphone-tablet.
Is it possible to create a bookmark on smartphone and have it appear on the tablet and vice verse,just like the synced tabs work ? I tried deleting the sync account and creating a new one, but I still don't see my smartphone's bookmarks on the tablet.
It would be even better if there was an option to choose which device can override another device's bookmarks.I don't really need desktop bookmarks on smartphone, but I'm too scared to delete them.I'm afraid it will also delete them from desktop... ?

So "new" aka "Firefox Accounts based sync" syncs desktop<->tablet and desktop<->phone but not phone<->tablet. Hmmm I actually have tested this S5<->Nexus 5<->desktop (Mac) and it worked.
