If you use FTP then ftp is the protocol and 21 is the port.
Your webhoster will tell you what path to use.
You probably can read it in the FAQ/Help/Support pages where you host your website.

Dynamic Trunking Protocol and ports mode

((Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP), as the name implies, is the protocol used to automatically negotiate a trunk link.
DTP supports the auto negotiation of both ISL and 802.1q.
By default all ports on the Catalyst 3550 are dynamic desirable ports which will aggressively attempt to negotiate trunking through DTP.
To disable DTP and the auto negotiation of trunking, issue the interface level command switchport

Xbox 360/one problem and port forwarding

For a couple months now (since I got my AirPort Extreme) I have not been able to connect to a certain friend on xbox. I can connect to anybody else however. The only way we can (kind of) connect is if somebody else is host and we both connect to him.
My NAT type is Moderate. When I try to test my connection on my xbox it says that I can connect but I am limited in matchmaking (this is joining games and using voice chat, which is the problem named above for my particular friend). The xbox shows the error and suggests that I enable UPnP or open the port 3074.
The problem is that I have already have! I gave my xbox a static IP and forwarded the port 3074 to that IP.
(I have also tried forwarding all the ports that xbox live uses to the xbox. These being:
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)

I made sure to put them in the right text boxes for UDP and TCP so that is not the problem either.)
I know that the AirPort Extreme does not support UPnP but does have a similar thing called NAT Port Mapping Protocol which was already enabled. (I tried all possibilities of enabling/disabling NAT...Protocol and port forwarding/not port forwarding.) --- This is not the solution as I see it
In short: My xbox tells me to open port 3074. I already have. It still tells me to open it and still won't work.
I posted this on the apple discussion page (instead of the xbox discussion page) because I know that it's not an xbox problem. When I had my old linksys router it worked perfectly.

I have this exact same question and problem. I know this doesn't help, but would appreciate any updated information if you find an answer. I'll keep working on this also and let you know if I find an anwer.

OK, then pls follow below steps;
- Go to step 'Create Users' in solman_setup System Preparation scenario and make sure the user SM_INTERN_WS has a green status. Use the 'Test Login' button to make sure the user is not locked and has correct credentials maintained in solman_setup
- Immediately after checking the user status, navigate to Configure Connectivity->Enable Web Services and execute again the 'Create Logical Ports' automatic activity, in order to propagate the correct credentials to the Logical Port definitions.
- If the above operation is not successful, repeat the two steps above, providing a different user Id in 'Create Users' step, eg SM_INTERN_W1. This will prevent situations where the user gets locked by Logical Ports using an obsolete password.

I have installed coheI have installed coherence server "fmw_12.1.3.0.0_coherence_Disk1_1of1.zip" along with Examples on windows machine and C++ client coherence-cpp-12.1.3.0.0b51709-windows-x86-vs2012.zip on the same machine.
I have built the "contacts" C++ Example successfully and while I execute this "contacts" using run I am facing TcpAcceptor error.
On my coherence server the TcpAcceptor is listening on port 8088, so I have modified the extend-cache-config.xml file with values "ip address of my windows machine" and port as "8088".
All the time I am getting below error,

Error establishing socket to host and port: EPM11:1433

I am trying to configure EPM 11.1.2.1 (Planning)
RDBMS: SQL server 2005 (Express Edition)
OS: 2008 R2 x64
i am getting error after providing RDBMS credentials "error establishing socket to host and port: EPM11:1433 Reson: connection refused: connect"

You may need to enable tcp/ip
SQL Server Express listens on local named pipes and shared memory. With a default installation, you cannot remotely connect to SQL Server Express. You will need to enable TCP/IP and check if the firewall is enabled.
To enable TCP/IP:
From the Start menu, choose All Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server 2005, point to Configuration Tools, and then click SQL Server Configuration Manager.
Optionally, you can open Computer Manager by right-clicking My Computer and choosing Manage. In Computer Management, expand Services and Applications, expand SQL Server Configuration Manager.
Expand SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration, and then click Protocols for InstanceName.
In the list of protocols, right-click the protocol you want to enable, and then click Enable.
The icon for the protocol will change to show that the protocol is enabled.

There are a number of standard services by port number. You can get that from /etc/services on any nx system and put it into a map or array. That list doesn't change all that often.
In general though, as Dave says, no.
Assuming the service is not one of the standard ones and the same port may provide different services on different IP addresses, there would need to be some standard protocol for naming services that you could access at those IPs--either a "list of ports/services" service that's at a known port, or a request/response that would be standard across all IPs and ports. As far as I know, neither of those exist.

Changing the multicast Address and Port giving error

I am using Coherence 3.3.1 jar files (Coherence.jar and tangosol.jar) in my local application. But when I try to change the multicast Address and Port in tangosole-coherence.xml(in Coherence.jar) then it is giving this error -
"This member could not join the cluster because of an incompatibility between the cluster protocol used by this member and the one being used by the rest of the cluster. This is most likely caused by a Coherence version mismatch, or by mismatched protocol filters (e.g. compression, or encryption)"
If i am using unique IP and Port then how can it be in a Cluster as this error stating. Please reply ASAP.

There is a good chance that there is already the IP and port is being used by another cluster (which uses different versions of jars or configurations) and hence, when you are starting your cluster, throwing the error.
Can you double check if another cluster is already using it or not ?

we have 2 oracle databases(For example A and B and it's schemas are A_A and B_B) on two different IP address and DB link is created on B database i.e using B_B user to access A database i.e A_A user. Now By using A database i.e A_A user can we know the IP and PORT NO of database B?

I have NI-IMAQdx 3.5.0 , and I have Basler Camera (scA640-74gc) with GigE Vision Interface.
I run that camera in my computer as controller (Multicasting mode) with IP (239.192.0.1)
I detected that camera in another computer (to run it as listener) by LbVIEW .
my problem is
I run the Pylon Viewer from Basler (Monitor mode) after I detected that camera.
it was run successfully (I look to details of that camera it have same IP 239.192.0.1 and the port changed every time when i stop running in controller computer)
from where i can set fixed Port in multicasting mode??????
When I use Pylon Viewer in controlled computer and set the mode to multicast
I should set IP and port , then in listener computer I run Pylone Viewer (monitor mode) I saw same IP and same port which i set it in controller
I need a way in LabVIEW to set Port Number in multicasting mode...How I can do that

Hi Alzhrani,
Unfortunately it is a bit more complicated because you would have to use the GVCP protocol and do a register read of a specific register on the camera that stores the multicast UDP port (that IMAQdx programs from the controller). However, this likely requires access to the GigE Vision specification in order to be able to format the messages correctly.

Distributed JMS Queues and Port Information

Hello,
          I am a reasonably inexperience WebLogic user, so forgive my ignorance.
          We are setting up a distributed JMS queue as a destination for messages being sent from our EAI server. The distribution will be across 2 servers in our QA environment and 3 servers in our production. We are using WebLogic Server 8.1.3 on an Windows 2003 environment.
          The people in our EAI environment need a port number on for the Queue in order to forward their messages to us. My question's are:
          1) Is the listen port for the Distributed Queue the same as the listen port for the Admin Server?
          2) If it is not, does it correspond to the listen port for the individual queues (which is the same between our environments)?
          3) If there is a third port in play, how does this get configured and where do I retreive this information?
          I appreciate any answers people are willing to give me on the issue.

          WebLogic JMS shares the same WebLogic port as other WebLogic services, regardless of whether or not the destinations are distributed.
          One way to determine which ports are configured for a particular WebLogic server is to look at the log for that server.
          Ports are usually configured to support multiple protocols, and typically, one uses the "t3" protocol for URLs (its the highest performer), but there are other options (such as "http" for tunneling).
          You can configure additional ports (beyond the "default" port(s)) using the "channel" feature - i think you can find channels under the "WebLogic server" tabs on the console.
          For a server or client to establish communication with a remote cluster, one need only specify a URL for any one of the server's within the remote cluster. J2EE JNDI name location transparancy and WebLogic RMI load balancing will usually take care of the rest, although some customers setup DNS to help with load balancing (by for example, configuing their DNS "round-robin" addresses).
          Best practice is for the administrative server to be restricted to administrative purposes only. This means the admin server typically (A) doesn't host JMS (or any other services or any applications) and (B) is not a member of a cluster. So typically you won't be able to access JMS using an admin server's URL.

Some internet radio stations with http protocol and mp3 format not working in AIR 2.0

First, i am sorry for my bad english. When I publish swf for Flash 10 player all stations in my list works. If I publish them for AIR 2.0 stations with adress end ":XXXX", where XXXX is port number, they cannot work. What is problem? Thanks in advance.

Perhaps, in the previous post I wasn't clear enough, so I'll try to make it better: I am using the Adobe Flash CS5 and AS3. I wrote the script for listening internet radio stations. In the station list I named only those that use HTTP protocol and mp3 format, cause I know the limits of Flash in audio streamings. If I publish FLA file in SWF for Flash 10 player all the stations can be listened.. If swf file is made for AIR 2.0 there's a problem: the stations with adress http://xxx.xxx:xxx/<something> can be listened, and those without extension behind the port number (:xxx) can not. Main parts of the script are:
