Muse sites not ranking in search engines

Does anyone have any suggestions to offer? I have two sites who rank low when searched by title. For example, searching for The Chamber and the Cross (website www.thechamberandthecross.com ) the site is on the 6th page. Yet the newly created facebook page is a first hit and the goodreads page with only one review is now even coming up higher.
I have manually uploaded the site index to google. The site has well placed keywords. The name is in the text throughout the site as keywords, H1 text where appropriate, in the page descriptions, set as alt text on photos. I have at least a couple other well-ranking sites with links to the site. I don't know what else to do! These are the only two sites I've developed using muse and I've never had an issue with any other site, so I must assume this has something to do wtih Muse itself. The sites are hosted at bluehost and I upload them via a 3rd party ftp.

Ranking via Search Engines...

Hi,
My newly posted site: Music4yourEvent.com has .jpeg (.png) files of the text. (This is because I wanted a particular font and typographical layout.)
So, I conclude that search engines & web crawlers will not have any way of referencing much of the content of my site.
Is it possible therefore to i.e. place a copy of the actual html text in a layer beneath the .jpeg images in order to achieve recognition by search engines? Any other ideas?

Try applying the alt tag to a specific image in the HTML source. For example:
img src="http://images.apple.com/t/2007/us/en/i/1.gif" alt="Apple"
The HTML source can be viewed and changed in any text editor. For some editors, you may need to access the file as text instead of HTML to see the source.

Why is my muse site not displaying all elements in firefox and IE

Hi I am having problems with my MUSE site. the embedded HTML buttons and images i have used on the site wont display on Firefox or IE. everything works fine in Chrome. am i missing some code?

How do I get Firefox to open a blank website when I open a new tab and not this "Bing" search engine page?

Whenever I open a blank tab I'm taken to some page where I can search the web with a search engine called Bing. This isn't a major problem but it causes a LOT of annoyance since the cursor is right in the search engine box and not in the address bar like before. Like I said, not a major problem, just annoying and I'd like it fixed if I can.

How to change the wording of my site when displayed in search engines

How do I amend the details displayed when my website is typed into google so that it reads my company name, and other selected text...as opposed to the wording on the first slide/ 123.reg which it is currently displaying. Is there a settings page within iWeb that manages this?

Jessica ~ Welcome to the discussions. Most built-in templates have a large header caption at the top of the page and there's the Page tab in iWeb's Inspector — see the section "1) iWeb Page Titles" in this article:

"Your meta description is a short description of your webpage content. Like your title tag, and all other meta tags, it should be unique for each one of your webpages. Muse site not displaying correctly when 'Published' to BC

Hi all
Strange incidents happening with a Muse site I'm designing for a client. When I use the Publish feature (which uploads the site to the default Business Catalyst domain you get with the Muse subscription) it throws the elements all over the place, so buttons, type, imaegry and widgets aren't wheere they should be.
I've cleared the cache, restarted the browser, tried in other browsers and still the same result, so pretty unhappy.
When I 'Preview' the site in a browser everything seems perfect.
Bizarre thing is when designing my first ste the opposite was the case; lots of visual problems when using 'Preview' but perfect when 'Published' to BC.
Anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks for the reply, think we have the solution. Apparantly Muse is not uploading the updated CSS files. I created a test domain on my own website to use for this project and uploaded via Fetch and everything worked fine.
So it looks like it's an issue with Muse

Do not want ASK search engine with Firefox or in Toolbar

Everytime I download Mozilla Firefox, which I was using just yesterday, I get ASK with it and it wants to be my search engine and is in the Toolbar - so I delete it all to get rid of it. I use iGoogle and I do not want ASK.com . Can I get Mozilla without it or Babylon or any other thing but MOZILLA FIREFOX???????

If there is a problem with the about:home Home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.
* Open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar
* Type in the Filter bar: mstone
* Right-click the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line and select: Reset
* Close and restart Firefox
If that didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.

Spry content not accessed by search engines

Since moving to Spry and using accordion panels, search

Can not remove yahoo search engine from search bar

I have tried to use the suggestions listed but I am very dense and need a walk through. How do I permenently remove yahoo search from my list of search engines?
I can remove it by manage search engines... but it comes back.

I had the same problem...I searched many forums for answers...Finally this one works.
Click Start....Click Run...enter this:
c:\program files\mozilla firefox\searchplugins
A page opens showing all the search engines in firefox.
Simply right click the ones you do not want and delete.
It has been a week now and Google is still my only Search engine

Safari Default sites now go to search engine

I upgraded to Leopard and now Safari works differently for me. It used to be that if i typed in an address with now www or .com it would automatically add it and take me to the site. Ex: If I typed APPLE into the address bar it would automatically ad the www.apple.com to it and take me to Apple.
Now it takes me to a search engine and searches for APPLE. Is that a setting I can change to make it work the other way. Now my Webbrowsing works like PC and that it no fun.

I too am looking for an answer to this one. For some reason if I type "apple" in the address window Verizon feels they need to help me out. ***? Cant find a preference anywhere to change this. Somebody help. I hope the poor guy who started this thread almost a year ago found an answer.

Muse site not publishing - stops at 10% with no error code

Muse site used to work perfectly now will not publish since I upgraded 2013.3
When you click publish, it says optimizing, but stops at 10%. No error code pops up - it just stays at 10% and will not publish. Please Help!!!
I am sending a dropbox link containing the muse file and muse log with this form link attached as well.

Firefox crashes when I try to search for something using the Google or MSN search engines, but not with other search engines. What causes this and how can i fix this?

I type something into the Google or MSN search engine and as soon as I hit search, Firefox crashes. Hotmail still works fine, as do every other website I have tried, including other search engines. What is the problem?

I got the same issue to and crashes in the same exact manner. Been using IE in the mean time, thought it was just me. I tried reinstalling Firefox and everything, even rolled back windows.

Muse site not publishing after 2014.3 update

My muse site will no longer publish after the new update. When you click publish, it starts to publish, but never gets past 0% while optimizing the assets.:

Do you have 1 or more files listed in your Assets panel with file names that are 3 letters and have no file extension? If so, please try renaming (anything other than 3 letters with no extension) and relinking those files. Then retry export/upload/publish.

Adobe Muse Site not appering correctly on Phone?

Ok so I have my site ready, it's created with Adobe Muse and published. I am hosting it with business catalyst and redirecting to it from my domain name service. The page appears correctly on the computer and the phone using the link "juniorstaqueria.businesscatalyst.com" however when I go through my link "www.juniorstaqueria.com" which is currently pointing to "juniorstaqueria.businesscatalyst.com" the phone version does not appear correctly and is zoomed out.
Could someone please help me understand why this is happening?

Update #1: I went back in and updated everything on the site to be 366px. The site is set to a width of 380px therefore the page in a desktop browser if you go there directly appears as it does on my phones http://juniorstaqueria.businesscatalyst.com/phone/index.html
It will not allow you to resize past a min of 380px as it is supposed to however the browser windows are stretching the content way far out. Is there a way to put in the pages to do a "max-width of 380px"? This would not allow any browser to stretch the window. I think this could fix the problem but I really don't understand that when I go to the page with the business catalyst link its fine but with the domain link I paid for it is totally wrong, even though it goes to the phone page it treats it like it's a desktop page.
Update #2: I went and moved my site host to a different provider than the business catalyst site and now this time the mobile version appears 100% correctly but the Desktop version gives me the following error:
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating '$(window).data("ResolutionManager").activate')
If I can figure out why this error is occurring when I host it myself and fix it I will just host the site instead of using catalyst which doesn't display it correctly with a domain link.
