Muse Slideshow

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to make a slideshow inside of Muse scalable depending on Browser size? I.e. when someone goes from 30% to 75% say, the slideshow will change size too? I only ask as I have a slideshow positioned in the top right corner of a page (for the purposes of an effect), but when I scale up, the images don't and I end up with a gap. The rest of my page content is at 100% page width by the way.

Adobe Muse slideshow widget not working on Ipad

The Muse slideshow widget i'm using is working fine in desktop version (on my Imac and Macbook Pro Retina), but the targets (buttons) are not working when i open the website in my Safari Ipad. When i open in Ipad Chrome, it's working fine.

To answer your first question, a widget is essentially a app extension. Try the stock market app below, once you download it you'll be able to add a stock market widget to Notification Center. If the link below doesn't work go to the App Store and enter Stocks Widget by Peeksoft in the search field.

How do I set the default Hero image in a Muse slideshow widget when using Free Form Thumbnails?

Hello,
I am trying to find out how to set the default Hero image when using a Muse slideshow widget and in the Layout section I have the "Free Form Thumbnails"
box checked.
In other words, when the page loads I want to define which image displays as the first Hero image.
If I do not select the "Free Form Thumbnails" option, the top left Thumbnail image always displays first. This is fine.
But when I select the Free Form Thumbnails" checkbox I don't know how to define which image shows first as the Hero image.

Okay… I think I've worked out how to do it!
[1] First have the "Free Form Thumbnails" box UNCHECKED.
[2] Organize the Thumbnails and place the image that you want to be the first Hero image when the page loads in the top left corner of the Thumbnails group.
[3] When you "Preview Site In Browser" the Thumbnail image in the top left corner will always display as the first Hero image.
[4] If you want "Free Form Thumbnails" go ahead now and SELECT that checkbox.
[5] Whichever image was in the top left of the Thumbnail group before you checked "Free Form Thumbnails" will still show up as the first Hero image when the page loads, regardless of where that thumbnail image is located within the Thumbnail images group.

Hi,
The sequence of operation you are doing to set the home page for public users is correct. You are getting the login screen as the "custom page group" selected as "home page" has not been granted to public.
Also, while logging-out, it is normal behaviour to get the screen where it shows the list of partner applications from where user has been logged-out. When you click on "Return" button, you will get to the "home page" set above.

Scrolling thumbnails in Muse Slideshow?

Is it possible to have only one row of thumbnails at the bottom of a slideshow that would scroll accross as the slideshow progresses?

The thumbnails in Muse slideshows and compositions currently are only static and cannot be set to automatically scroll with the progression of images.
This is currently a feature that is still being looked into and there are other posts regarding this. If you search for existing posts on a topic (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4777406#4777406) and add onto that, it increases the chances of a request getting priority rather than creating a new thread.

Muse Slideshow - How to get rid of persistent "stroke"

Spent far too many hours trying to fix this, I am hoping there is an easy "A Ha" fix :-) Please!!
No matter what I seem to do when the slideshow previews as it "settles" on the image in the sequence a white thin stroke appears. Seems to be in the active state... BUT READ ON!
*YES! I have gotten rid of all strokes, of all shadows, glows etc under each state, ( as well in the EFFECTS) drop down,
* Have resized my photos countless times in PShop and no stroke, clean edges etc
* Tried all the options in the fly-out
* Tried placing a black background as a rectangle
* even got so desperate I placed thin rectangles on the edges of all the pics! That looked bad...
Where is the magic fix?! Thank you :-)

I'm finding that it is quite easy and perfect to redirect as you mentioned from Muse itself when you also build WEBSITE in Muse along with your phone / tablet version. However what I am struggling to find is a way to simply redirect a PHONE build to a persons hosting directory which that client already has set up somewhere... (godaddy etc.) I have several clients that already have a website and don't need a build on that but JUST want a mobile version.
So how do you direct the phone build only to their directory? I can get access to it, put a "phone" folder in there but need the right way to redirect all devices.

Muse Slideshows in Fixed Layout EPUB

Hi Everyone
I created my App Folio in InDesign but later realised that based on my distribution requirements I would not be able to go via itunes app market. I have to convert my content into fixed layout epub for the requirement of my project.
In my initial App Folio I have slideshows created in Adobe Muse and brought into Indesign Document as web overlay (HTML Slideshows from MUSE, MUSE exports those as HTML5 site) . My content is Image intensive. There are about 100 images in each slideshow, so creating those via Multi State Objects in ID including the thumbnails is not easy. Its very easy to create those in Muse .
My question is what is the best way to use those Muse slideshows in a fixed layout EPUB . Do Folio Overlays such as WEB work with Fixed Layout EPUB ? Second part of question is which folio overlays work with Fixed Layout EPUB ? is there a detailed help document.

There is, you only have to add one navpoint inside toc.ncx, this will hide the "text TOC".

Why does Muse slideshow shrink my header?

I put the Muse slideshow into my custom site template and for some reason it shrunk my header that contains my logo. I went in and took out any conflicting body styles, but it didn't help. Slideshow seems to work OK, but not a good look with the header smaller than header on other pages of the site.

This is what I'm getting with the Muse slideshow in my template (header is compressed), but it should look like this:

It's relatively easy if you're prepared to spend the time doing it.
• First, forget about the slideshow option. Instead, open up an iMovie project and import your slides into it (ensure you're first set to NTSC for the US of A). Use the Ken Burns effect if you want. Also, add transitions between slides. Unlike the slideshow, you can use different transitions for each slide if your tastes run to it. Don't forget to set the required time for each slide.
• Add your music track(s)
• Now, using something like Audacity (it's free), record your voice over tracks (one per slide) for each slide (you do have a microphone/iSight don't you?). Set Audacity to 48,000 Hz by the way. Trim the tracks, or select the appropriate part. Export the trimmed tracks or the selection as AIFF files to a folder.
• Import the AIFF files into itunes, and use from there, or open the AIFF folder into the media/audio window, or simply drag & drop them. Place them into the middle track in iMovie. Arrange each voiceover to it's appropriate slide.
• Dampen the music during each voiceover, or for the whole show.
• Export to iDVD, burn as disk image.
• If you really, really want to have the voiceovers as a choice, export a Quicktime movie WITHOUT the voiceovers (untick them via the box alongside the right of the track), and then export again WITH the voiceovers (different name of course). Import the two movies into a suitable iDVD menu, with a button for each.

I eventually figured it out: select the widget/click on edit in the toolbar/click on "clear." Selecting the widget and pressing the delete key, which was the first thing I tried, did not work for me.

How can I make the Adobe Muse slideshow stop on mouseover?

Using the Adobe Muse slideshow opens many possibilities and control elements. However, I have received many feedback inquiries from my customer, complaining they cannot stop the slideshow on mouse over. This can be quit a nuisance as someone is enjoying a photo with no means to stop it from fading or sliding to the next one (except when using thumbnails, clicking on those. Which is not always intuitive). Is there a way to tell the Muse slideshow widget to stop the slide when viewers mouse over the image and continue sliding / fading when viewers hoover of the image?

You can't. The best you can do is click to stop it, but then the only way of starting it again is to reload the page. I believe Adobe are looking into ways of improving this in future releases. There are various workarounds: have a longer delay between slides, use a manual-only slideshow with back or next buttons (or arrows) or a combination of what you have already with these to make the best out of an imperfect situation.
It is not possible either to have a slideshow stop at the final image which is limiting, and another point that needs addressing. Sorry; this is probably not the answer you were looking for but hope you can now make some decisions/progress.

Adobe Muse SlideShow Options and Capabilities

Hey there people. I know that in the Adobe Muse slideshow you have the options to use fade, and vertical transitions, etc. I'm trying to make a few pictures in my slideshow go vertical and a few pictures go horizontal, and maybe a few pictures fade during its transition. (All in the same Slideshow) Is this possible?

Right now there is only the three options. I am sure it would be easy enough for the dev team to add a random setting. I suggest you add it to the Muse ideas forum.

Lightroom Export Quality setting for best Muse slideshow optimization

Hi,
I am using Lightroom to prepare images that I will use in Muse slideshows--basic slideshow widget. In LR, I have cropped virtual copies of everything to the exact proportion I need in Muse. In the LR Export dialog, I use the Image Sizing dialog to set to my exact pixel dimensions for the images--784x560px, 72ppi. That's for my desktop version, but I'm using the same images for my tablet and phone versions. In the LR Export > File Setting dialog, I set JPG, sRGB.
My question is this: What is the optimal QUALITY setting in the LR Export > File Settings dialog to produce the smallest file size and maintain excellent image quality in Muse webpages? The QUALITY slider goes from 0 to 100. Furthermore, since my tablet and phone slideshows are smaller than the desktop slideshow, would I be wise to produce another set of images in LR for each of the three formats, sized for the respective formats?
Note that I am not using the HiDPI setting in Muse Site Properties > Content.

Embedding video in Muse slideshow

Hello all, I am in desperate need of help here.
I am trying to recreate a slideshow as seen at www.montereybayaquarium.org, where the first "slide" is actually a short video. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do that in Muse or even if it's possible or not?

Muse slideshow images display at random sizes, with gray border???

Muse/Mac/Mavericks: 1. Added 20 or so pics to a blank slideshow widgit: All are around 600 pixels (long axis). Some show at correct size, some show much smaller. Also there is a grey border around the pics I want gone. Thanks for helping!

In your design view for that gallery, select the widget background and set it to no fill (The white box with the red line through it)

Muse slideshow really slow to load in Preview

Muse v7.2, new healthy iMac:
Building a 24 image slideshow with small images (50 to 150 kb size), but they take FOREVER to load in preview (a 75 kb image took 2 minutes to load)! Please help! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Here’s what I figured out, after a prolonged chat with an Adobe tech: The Preview feature doesn’t seem to work very well, either the Preview button or file > Preview Page (or Site) in Browser. The Tech had me switch browsers (from Firefox to Chrome), and dump the cache, still no good.
She then had me Publish the site, using the Publish button (or file > Publish…), and the site came up quickly, and the pics looked great, not pixelated like they were using Preview. When you publish, you make up a name and add the businesscatalyst.com suffix, and hit publish, and your page/site comes up on your default browser.
I built another page with a slideshow, tested it, and on the whole, it loaded quickly (sometimes would hang on a single image, not sure why). At any rate, I feel like I understand the process better, and have a sense of what the problem was.
