Music always stutters while playing in itunes

Hello,
I have a serious problem with my mp3s in itunes. for a while the music always stutters while playing in itunes. i checked many forums and have seen the advices with switching the audiodevice in quicktime to save play. but nothing has changed. my audio device is an nvidia nforce, is there any problem with the component an itunes. Please help me....

Don't leap to that conclusion. iTunes is more strict/finicky/incompetent (pick your own interpretation) about slight variations in MP3 headers, and will often trip on files that other players handle fine.
Treating the files with a 3rd party tag cleanup program such as MP3 Validator often clears up the problem.

Shadow--hey thanks for the reply. No all the songs are in C drive on my computer. I do have an external drive as backup (Sync-Toy) but all my songs are on C. I was thinking of trying to delete ITUNES and Quiktime and reinstall. Do you think that would work? Jeff

MPEG stuttering when played in iTunes, normal when played directly in QT

I have an MPG which plays just fine in QT, but when I add it to iTunes and play it through there (it lands in the Movies section and I double-click it), it stutters (the audio), as if it has trouble keeping up with it. Any ideas? Can this be fixed, or should I not be using iTunes to manage my video content?

I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I was referring to watching a video on the iPod. It is really annoying when the video freezes momentarily, and the audio continues to play smoothly, but by the time the video catches up, you have lost several frames of your video. You know what I mean? Really annoying...

How can you "watch" a video while you are scrolling
around in your menus? There is only one screen on my
iPod and I can only use it to watch videos OR scroll
through menus. When I press the menu button while
watching a video, the iPod goes back to the previous
menu. Then, when I go back to the video, it starts
back exactly where it was when I pressed the menu
button in the first place. Apparently, it pauses
while you are looking through the menu screens. Now
with music, I understand what you're saying but I

MBP 15" always crash while playing games

My MBP 15" always crash while playing Assassin's Creed 2 . And always crash after exit PES 2011 . How to fix it . T T

Are these games recommended specs following the CPU, the GPU, and RAM of your machine? Is your operating system exactly with the recommended speces of the game? I.e. a game that says it is 10.6.x compatible has only been tested with 10.6 & 10.6.1, but probably not always 10.6.2 through 10.6.7.

Regular playlists vs smart playlist does not make a difference. What I noticed is that some videos create this behavior and some not. I created 2 videos and 2 music playlists, one with 2 songs and 2 videos (that I encoded myself with Handbrake). Another list with 2 videos and 2 songs, videos encoded with Handbrake, but that I noticed they triggered the behavior. The first playlist played fine, with no problems. The second one, created the problem. When I look at the video, it is the same type of video (bit rate, audio channels, etc...) I don't see why it would do that.
Later I will test: playing those videos in question and then selecting songs to see if they play.

Playback only works while playing through iTunes

My iPod Classic 5th generation (30gb) works and plays fine while playing music through itunes when the iPod has "manage music and videos" is checked. Any other time when the iPod is not connected to the computer, through headphones or on a dock connector iHome, there is no sound. The songs look to play normally with second bar moving along as normal but no sound is produced.
Any ideas?

I have this exact same problem. My 5th Generation 30gb iPod won't play through headphones or my cars auxillary jack anymore; it only plays through iTunes when it's plugged up to my computer. This literally happend overnight and I have no idea how to correct it. Any help please?

I recently added 4 CD's to the library and created a playlist of those 4 CDs. Now when I play them, they 'stutter' while playing the music.

Do they "stutter" when you play them in itunes or only on your iPod? If they do in itunes, they might have just failed to import correctly, or skipped while importing, or are scratched.
If they only stutter on your iPod, perhaps try restoring your iPod.. If that doesn't help, you might need a new hard drive.

They downloaded normally and they play in itunes but they wont sync to my ipod touch!! Itunes doesnt give me a message about them not syncing either, so its like theyre not even there. HELPPPP. Is the problem with my ipod or the computer? i download alot of music from the internet and i dont want this to keep happening!

This does not look like an iTunes problem. I'll ask the hosts to move this to the Lion forum.
Check, if the problem is system wide or only happens when working from your user account. Try to use iTunes logged in as a different user. Do you get a better performance?
What model of Mac are you using? How much RAM does the mac have?

Original music files no longer play in iTunes

So I recorded a demo for my band and after several months of trouble-free playing on iTunes it has all of sudden decided that I am nt authorized to play these files anymore and I can't get them to open outside of iTunes anymore. HELP!!

Why is my shockwave player always crashing while playing zynga farmville2 on FB?

while playing zynga farmville2 on FB, shockwave player continually crashes. Sometimes it stops before the game finishes loading. I usually end up killing the page. I've used three different browsers and have problems in all three. I've updated google chrome and that hasn't helped. I have windows 7 starter edition.

I don't think these games are based on Shockwave Player; more likely Flash Player.

Safari 6.1.1 stuttering while playing Flash

Does anyone know why has Safari started to stutter while playing Flash video? No matter the size of the content provider (in my case Lynda), it stops for a fraction of a second every 3 seconds. It is QUITE annoying! And, I'm sure it is Safari, I've played those videos an hour before I updated to Safari 6.1.1 and now it is Flash mayhem! I'm tempted to recover (the whole system, thank you very much, Apple) from Time Machine so I do away with this MAJOR annoyance! Any suggestions?

Dominic, thank you for a boiler-plate instructions, I did many, if not all, of those before posting.
However, the story deepens, it sems that the culprit is one of the system updates, since this happened to me on a different machine, too. At least, culprit would be the part of one of the updates that may have written to/changed permissions of the ScriptingAdditions folder. Or, the sandbox settings may have been corrupted, who knows, I don't.

How do I get Music Video's to play in iTunes on iPad Mini with Shuffle option on Playlists (it's only playing the music not video's)?

Hi. I have got Music Video's on iPad Mini on a Playlist on iTunes. When I use 'shuffle' option the audio of the track is heard but no video is played (only a 'still' from the video). When using the Video option on the desktop, plays videos but does not allow you to 'playlist' them or shuffle them. I can shuffle Music Video playlist on iPhone and on PC. So why not on iPad Mini. Can someone help? Thanks

There does not appear to ba a facilty for this on the iPad. However there are a number of apps that will allow you to create and play video playlists. Try VP Lite which is free.
