I am also trying to work with music file.. im not a newbie to palm however the phone i have is about 5 days new to me... a pre they say if you can buy muisc . get it off computer . which isnt hard . ( well i have done that before and its not ahrd usb or MMC) and also this is my problem using via sent attchement in email .. it wont ask to save it will download an play the song , i checked it is in.mp3 for mat.. anyway i do hope someoen does come aorund to help,. its frustrating adn the demo videos and manuels do not work all the time  so if anyone can help thanks in advance..

    Why are you changing your ID?
    iTunes/app purchases are locked to the account that purchased them. For some actions like updating apps you have to sign into the account that purchased them. Just changing the ID does not not delete any media from the iPod.
    When you delete the iCloud account for the iPod should should be offered the option to leave contacts on the iPod. See:

  • Email and Contact Issues

    My emails are not coming through to my phone unless I manually refresh. I have three accounts setup (Yahoo! and 2 school email accounts). Both school accounts, when I sign on from a computer says something about Outlook: one says Mircosoft outlook and the other says Outlook live.
    I contacted my school and got the correct settings for each account. They work because I get the emails as long as I manually refresh. I initially had my phone set to check for mail every hour but after realizing it was not automatically doing this, I set it for every five minutes. That still didn't help.
    Out of frustration, I called Verizon who told me they knew nothing about such an issue. They connected me to Samsung who said the same thing. Apparently they were both lying as I have Googled this issue and see that it has been posted since Sept 2010. I just have not noticed a solution (possibly overlooking it).
    The solution that they gave me was so a hard reset (didn't work), delete then re-add the accounts (didn't work) or use a workaround. My response to their last suggestion was that I did not feel it was necessary for me to do that when the phone I purchased was supposed to handle email. This has been an issue since I got the phone in Nov 2010 when I switched to VZ. I didn't really notice it until this month because I was having text messaging issues which they didn't fix until this month.
    Samsung ended up telling me to send them my phone and they would troubleshoot it but I had to contact VZ about getting a loaner phone as they were going to have it for a week. When I called VZ back, they told me they would just send me a replacement phone and to not send the phone to Samsung because they could have given me a defective phone. The order wasn't placed because their system was down that Friday and the guy was supposed to call me back. He never did so I called VZ a third time.
    The tech support rep told me that she was positive that if I got a brand new phone I would still have the same problem because its a known issue that Samsung has yet to fix. Also she had the same phone and also some other people she worked with. She told me to make sure I deleted junk mail, sent stuff, kept the inbox down, and empty the trash and that should help. She was supposed to call me back and see if it helped (which it didn't). She never called back....that was Monday and today is Friday.
    Now I'm feeling like they are lying to me because they don't want to replace my device. Then on top of that they told me it would more than likely be a refurbished device instead of a brand new device even though I still have a warranty. Should I push for a new phone or is this really a known issue with Samsung that they have yet to fix? If it is a Samsung issue, what's the workaround until they actually fix it?
    By the way, Gmail works almost instantaneously. They told me to forward all of my mail there but that didn't work for my two school accounts. I don't like that anyway.
    As for the contact issues, I just noticed two weeks ago that my Facebook and Twitter contacts are unsyncing themselves. I don't have all of my Facebook friends or Twitter followers in my phonebook but those whose phone numbers I have, are linked to their Facebook and or Twitter accounts but I notice that both of these accounts unlink themselves. I have no idea why this happens. I keep having to go back into my phonebook and relink about 30 people to their Facebook and or Twitter profiles. Any idea why?

    The reason why Gmail works well is that instead of polling (which is what the email app uses, where it queries the account to see if there's anything new), it pushes your email through meaning that it's virtually instantaneous.

    My frequency is set to every 5 mins. That hasn't worked. 
    The background data sync option is clicked already.
    The Twitter and Facebook SNS syncing is set. I have noticed though that sometimes when I go in there, the sync arrow is red by Twitter and Facebook. I uncheck the box and recheck it and then it turns green again. What I don't know is why it randomly turns red in the first place. I'm assuming this is the reason the Facebook and Twitter stuff unsyncs itself.

    I'm moving job locations and need to transfer my itunes information on my work PC like contacts and music, etc, to my personal laptop to continue using itunes there exclusively.  When I try to sync my iphone to my laptop a message says everything on my iphone will be erased.  Is there a way to accomplish what I want to do without erasing all my stored information?

    Copy all of the iTunes folder from your computer to a storage device, i.e. USB drive, etc. Copy that information to the new computer. Once you connect the phone ot the new computer and go to sync, it will warn you that you are synced to a different library. Since you have the content there, it will erase it but then sync it back. When it comes to your contacts and calendar, you will need to make sure you have a supported application on the laptop you want to use, such as Outlook, Address book. If it is the first time that you have synced to the laptop, then make sure whatever program that you use for calendars and contacts, you have a unique appointment and contact so it will trigger the merge command so you do not lose your current contacts and calendar.

    I lost my pictures (still on computer though), my music, and my contacts after I updated to ios5. I'd like to know if there is a way to get them back on my phone. I had a lot of music that I had purchased.

    All you should have to do is to make sure Music is synced (Music tab in iTunes).
    While yu are at it, if you have WiFi at home, check the Sync from Wifi box on the Summary iTunes page and then plug in your iPhone and sync.

  • Iphone 6 and syncing music and movies issues

    I have tried multiple time to syncing my music and movies to my new iPhone 6 with iOS 8.02. I have an iMac with iOS 10.9.5 and iTunes 11.4. I am unable to sync my music or movies. All either do not sync to the iPhone or if they do I playlists are dropped and when I select a song another is played. I have tried reseting the phone and different sync settings. Nothing I have done or forum suggestions I have followed have worked.
    I have been using Macs and iPhones for years. This is the first time I have had this problem. The problem extends to my iPad 4 after updating to iOS 8.
    Seems to me that there is something seriously wrong with this software either iOS 8.02 alone or in combination with iTunes 11.4.
    I am beyond frustrated. This software update is a disaster.

    I had this problem - was driving me crazy. I tried many things including restores etc. The following solved it:
    Go into iTunes
    Open up your new iPhone on the tab in the top right corner
    In the Summary box - simply unclick "Sync only checked songs and videos"
    Click apply
    Then I was fixed!

  • Changing between Music and Contacts ?

    Updated my iPod Touch with 2.0 update and all went well - nothing lost or deleted, did have to change email settings to send emails from my btinternet account but no hassle otherwise.
    I have noted one issue that while playing an album/ song and pressing the home button then selecting contacts, the contacts freeze for a second if running your finger over them, at one point the music seemed to do the stuck record thing and repeat over and over. I reset the iPod holding on/off and home button that seemed to sort the issue.
    Last night however was trying it again and while the songs do not freeze while going into contacts if you run your finger over them right away after selecting contacts they are unresponsive.
    Anyone else noticed this issue ?

    My desktop crashed and I had to reinstall itunes software.  My iphone has all my apps with their data, contacts, photos, videos & music.  How can I import all of the information and data on my iphone into itunes?  I downloaded one app that is a to-do-list but it indicates that if I sync with my iphone I will lose all data on my iphone and it will be replaced with the data on itunes.  I do not want to lose my data!  I have a lot of information and I cannot understand why Apple would not have a way to restore my data from my iphone to my itunes.  PLEASE HELP!

    It should be like the very first time you synced your phone with I-Tunes. It will notice you haven't synced before and just copy everything from your phone into I-Tunes. It shouldn't delete anything from the phone, at least it never has for me. It just puts a copy of everything into I-Tunes and even if you delete an app for example from your phone and you decide you want it back later, you can just go back into I-Tunes and copy it back over. Hope this helps.

  • Two computer set up ..... music and slideshow issue

    I have my Apple TV set up to stream my music from my main computer and stream my Aperture photos that are on another computer. I can access both my swapping the source on the Apple TV.... but i want to be able to play my music while having a slideshow of my photos...... i cannot seem to get this to work as the sources are different on the Apple TV ..... is there a way to do this ?

    I don't think yoiu can stream from two different source computers at the same time. Move the music to the same computer as the photo slideshow.

  • Re-Install music and permissions issues

    I was having a problem with my imac and i was told that I had to make a clean install of the system on my computer. I was backing up regularly so I figured that this would not be a problem.
    Because my new system name does not quite match up with my old one I can't just replace the files (they all come up with little do not enter signs on them.)
    My quesion is once I retrive my Itunes library and all the music where do I put it so it will show up in my new one?
    And how do I change permissions on them so I can open them?

    The default location of your iTunes music should be HD>Users>Your Account>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music - If you have set your iTunes preferences to 'keep' and 'copy' then that is where your tunes would be - UNLESS you changed the location in iTunes prefs>Advanced>General.
    If you are refused access to the iTunes folder(s) then you can do a 'Get Info' on the folder and change the access in the 'Sharing and Permissions' tab at the bottom of the window.
    Whenever doing a reinstall it is usually easier to do an Archive and Install - that way all your old stuff is moved to another folder but you retain the same user name. I made the mistake with my new MBP and decided that it was better to do a another install from a backup disk so I retained my original user name.

  • 3GS + OS4.0: Contact fileds missing and contacts missing

    Since I upgraded to OS4.0 on my iPhone 3GS, two things have gone wrong:
    1. Many of my contacts have disapeeared from the Contacts list. I can only find the missing contacts if I search for them in Spotlight Search. The other thing that has changed is that now all contacts that have not disappeared from the Contacts list appear as as belonging to a group called "All Contacts". What can I do to recover all the contacts that Spotlight Search can find somewhere in the phone but that do not appear in the Contacts list? There is no use in recovering a previous backup in Itunes, because I didn't do a backup before this issue. All the contacts are in the phone, except that maybe 75% of them are lost somewhere and only available through Spotlight Searck.
    2. Since the update to 4.0, everytime I want to add a new contact, I only have two fields available: Mobile (phone) and Home (email). All the other fields (such as Home phone, Work phone, etc.) are missing. Is there any way to solve this?

    Yes, I've tried all that.
    And I was already thinking of restoring as new, but I was afraid I would lose something on the way. Is there a way to restore as new and then go back to any OS version previous to 4.0? Will all my apps, music and contacts be available after restoring?

    The basics from the manual are reboot, reset, and restore.
    Have you rebooted the device?
    Have you tried resetting all settings?
    If neither of those works, the next step would be to restore as new and then re-sync your contacts, media, and apps.
