Music and Podcast cannot be synched, but Apps can

Hi.
My iPhone 4 is running the latest iOS. And I am running iTunes 10.7 on my Mac OS X.
I can sync Apps like Whatsapp and Skype.
But I couldn't get my Music and Podcast synced...
Can anyone point out a solution? Life without podcast is difficult.

The images folder just displays download click to download videos.
I even tried the tips and tricks section which asked me to connect the phone as a USB and check for errors, but that did not work for my problem. I still don't see the images and sound files.
I can only see them when i connect to the PC and use the Nokia Phone Browser.
The firmware version i have installed is V 4.0726.2.0.1, updated on 26-06-2007.
Any suggestions will help.

I enjoy putting songs and podcasts in the same playlist.  Looks like I can no longer do this.  Music in one app and podcasts in the other.  Did Apple really just take this away from me? Any solutions?

Correct. Music and Podcasts are now in separate apps. If you want to put them in the same playlist, the only way I know of to do it is, using iTunes, change the podcasts to music by selecting the podcasts, Get Info>Options>Media Kind.

    Ok.
Open System Preferences, Apple Logo icon in the menu bar and then System Preferences or the Sys Pref iocon in the Dock and go to the Internet Accounts area and look at your iCloud account. It should list what is and isn't synced by a checkmark next to each item.
Also in the Contacts app click on Contacts in the menu bar and select Preferences then accounts and make sure your iCloud account is listed. You can also do that from the Internet Accounts area in System Preferences.

(I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!)   I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

You are freaken genius!  Apple should update their instructions on how to give playlists, because the old way no longer works.  And people tend to give gifts around this time of year.  Anyway, mahalo niu loa (thank you very much)!

  • I Have an Iphone 3gs and have problems syncing music and podcasts

I have had my phone now for around 15 months and have not had previous problems with it.
I synced my phone today and it has cleared all music and podcasts from it and will not allow me to resync - apps are syncing fine.
It is a 32GB phone but on summary page it now says its capacity is only 4GB
Any ideas on what I have done or how to fix?
    Thanks

If you're talking about "regular" icloud, then setting it up should have no effect on your music.  Try syncing the device to iTunes and check the music settings and sync again.
If you subscribe to iTunes Match, is the device in wifi range?

  • Music and podcasts are grey on my itouch

I am really frustrated with this.  Ever since I upgraded to the new version of iOS6 I've been having issues.  I can see all of my songs and podcasts on my iTouch but a good bit of them are gray and I cannot play them.  They seem to appear fine in iTunes.  I have googled this scenario and I have read some suggestions and tried most of them. Example:  uninstall and reinstall iTunes, set up device to sync manually, set device to manage songs and playlist manually and nothing seems to work.  Please help.....I am beginning to regret upgrading to an iTouch.  I should have stayed with my good old classic!!!
    Any help is appreciative!!!!!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and podcastsd and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Auto Set the Volume for Music and Podcast?

I would like to automatically set the volume adjustment (+100%) for all my music and podcasts.
I get 1-2 podcasts everyday and have to manually set the volume after they have downloaded (Get Info->Options)
I can make mass changes by selecting multiple items - but what I hope to do is make a setting so that all new music/podcast etc are auto set to this volume.
I use open headphones outside a lot and some of the podcasts cannot be heard even on max volume slider. Adjusting the volume works fine but as I mentioned I do it manually
    Hope you can help

thanks for the link but unfortunately it doesn't help. I think my IMovie 08 might be corrupted or something. Because nothing can reduce the imported audio track's volume. I might need to take it to back to my store and ask them to have a look at it.

  • My iphone 4s deleted all of my books, music, and podcasts from my phone and now will not allow me to put them back on there.

As stated in the title, I was redownloading old purchases. After transferring a tv show onto my iphone it would not allow me to transfer another one. I wasn't able to locate the show on my phone, so then I checked my music. All of my music and podcasts were missing. My books were showing up at first, but then as soon as I closed out of one that I was reading and clicked on a different one they all vanished as well. I tried dragging on a song, a book, a show, and I kept getting the circle with the line through it. I have no idea what to do. My phone has always been set up to manually manage music and videos. When I selected to sync all music it still wouldn't do anything.
I've also recently, within the past 4 hours, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes because it kept crashing when I was trying to download my old purchases. I've done it before and haven't had any issues with it deleting anything before. I'm in the process of restoring my phone in the hopes that this will work, but I don't know if it will.
Anyone out there that can help me?

iPhone 3G is Old technology. When it was launched it had iOS 2.0. Currently, the highest it can go is iOS 4.2.1 and therefore can not handle many newer applications. As you have recorded, it is giving good service for which it has been designed.
Needless to say, if you want to use applications as stated, you must have at least 3GS, whose current is iOS 6.1.2. On the lighter side; Rather than updating iOS they are asking you to update iPhone (Technology). Cheers

  • While syncing movie iPod/iTunes deletes my music and Podcasts

While syncing movie iPod/iTunes deletes my music and Podcasts. This is very frustrating becaucse I have ALL my sync settings set to Manual. What can I do to stop this? I'm about to throw my iPod against the wall!

sorry you've just been dealt a blow from Apple trying to "help" its customers. you're correct: you cannot sync only music or movies. even if "manually sync" is selected, once you sync something like moves, the rest of your library gets deleted. it's completely backwards and non-intuitive.

  • Music and podcasts keep erasing themselves on Iphone 4s

This is driving me nuts. I've had the phone for a year now and it only just started doing this in the last week. Everytime I go to listen to something on my phone its all gone! When I plug it into the computer it shows that the music and podcasts should be loaded to it but they simply are not. I used to have it on wireless sync and I thought maybe that was the problem but I've since turned it off and am still having the issue.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Try deselecting Sync Music under the Music tab and deselect Sync Podcasts under the Podcasts tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. This should remove all music and podcasts from the iPhone.
Follow this by reselecting Sync Music and Sync Podcasts checking your selections below for being transferred to the iPhone followed by a sync.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

    Hey kaliapple,
Thanks for the question. First, you can try deleting and redownloading the purchase by following along with this:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If that doesn't resolve the issue, then you can read how to report an issue with your purchase here:

  • Splitting Music and Podcasts Across Different Discs

Is it possible to split Music and Podcasts in the same library across different discs? The reason is my music is too big to get on my laptop drive so I have an external disk drive that is always plugged in when I'm at home. However I want to take podcasts with me when I travel so I want them to be put onto my laptop hard drive. I know I could probably achieve this by creating 2 libraries (although I haven't tried yet) but would prefer to see if I can do it with one.

Put its internal drive into an enclosure and copy the files off.
