Music and Video Content Disappears After Transfer From itunes

I am experiencing a very strange issue so I hope someone can help or has at least experienced this themselves.
I have my iphone set up so I manually manage/sync music ans content. For the last 2 weeks everytime I transfer music and video to my iphone it disappears after I eject the device from itunes. When transferring the content this works as expected and I can see the tracks being transferred. If I then go into my music library while the iphone is still connected to my laptop I can see and play music on the iphone.
As soon as I eject the device (in the recommended way) my iphone music library shows no content what so ever it has vanished. If I then reconnect the iphone to itunes, on the iphone summary screen it seems to show there is content on the iphone as the GB capacity bar is filled up with whatever I have put on their but no content is visible on the iphone.
Interestingly if I download a podcast or music directly onto the iphone this stays on there.
This is driving me mental has anybody else experienced this and if so know how to fix it?

I'm having the same issue and haven't found anything on how to fix it other than restoring my phone. Won't be doing that. Hopefully this bumps it back to the top and someone will have an answer.

Seriously, due to iTunes' file being locked with DRM and being in a format that is incompatible with the Zen, the only thing you could do is look for underground/illegal methods to remove the DRM and convert the file into unprotected MP3. Due to the illegality of the issue, I cannot provide instructions (that, and the fact that iTunes won't let me buy music from them because Malaysian money isn't good enough for them, therefore I haven't actually tried). Music and videos keep disappearing off my iPhone

I have an 16GB iPhone 5S running iOS 8.1.3. Seems that either since the last iOS update or iTunes update, music and videos keep disappearing off my iPhone. I'll copy stuff on and now, I'll double check that it's staying on the phone, but the next day, my music or video library will contain 'no content'. I'm not syncing any songs or videos and have 'Manually manage...' checked. I've restarted the iPhone and iTunes. It keeps happening. What I have found is that it seems to happen sometime after the songs or videos are copied onto the phone while the phone is still plugged into my MBP. It doesn't seem, and I may be wrong, to happen when the phone is not plugged in to the Mac. Another issue I've found since the upgrading is that the phone rarely syncs the 'last watched' time on any videos anymore. Any ideas about these issues?

I have this problem too but movies and music delete a couple days later. I can watch half a movie one day and the next it disappears. I can also load music and listen to it all one day then they disappear in front of my eyes the next. these have all bern downloaded from the cloud on wifi at home.

Change your iCloud ID password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5624. After doing so, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new password.

Cannot delete music from iPod nano (latest generation). Have already selected "Manually Manage music and videos" but delete is unavailable from right click or Edit.

I have done everything I've seen recommended for deleting music (jncluding "manually manage"). Thanks for the assistance!!!

Did you Apply the change after selecting (checking the box for) Manually manage music and videos?
With the latest iTunes, if the sidebar is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, select the iPod under DEVICES. Click the toggle (to the left of iPod) to drop down the iPod's content list, indented under iPod. Click on Music there. Over to the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown. You can select songs there, right click on them, and select Delete from the contextual menu. You can also select songs there, go up to the menu bar, and select Delete under Edit. You can also select songs there, and just press the Delete key on the keyboard.
If you want to use automatic syncing, which is far more convenient than the manual method, and easily manage content on the iPod (add and remove songs), please post back.

Music and videos gets corrupted after syncing

I have been having this issue for quite sometime now. It first started when I was using an old laptop to sync my iPod touch 4th gen. Not just syncing, just transferring music and videos. But the videos get corrupted after transferring the file from the laptop to ipod. I thought it was the cable but as soon as used a faster laptop, the videos were transferred without any corruption issues. I reformattd the laptop as it might have some malware or other softwares interrupting the usb transfer but it still gets corrupted. So I thought, the communication between pc and the new ipod system might be too much for an old intel core duo @ 1.6ghz to handle.
Now, I am using a laptop with intel core 2 duo @ 2.0ghz. The corruption issue is now returning. The music can be played but when playing, it seems like it's jumping, stuttering or something. Please note that it can be played but it sounded like a bad interrupted download.
For the old laptop, the videos are usually the ones the gets corrupted. For the new laptop, it happened recently during a massive sync I performed. I wonder if there's a usb buffer thing that gets full.
Anyway, is there a way to prevent this or check which mp3s are corrupted? I have plan to copy all the mp3s using TouchCopy, then compare the mp3s to my source mp3 using BeyondCompare.

You can't copy music from a i device to a Mac computer. Only from a Mac computer to a i device. So you will have to copy over your iTunes library from your old computer to your new Mac.

"manually manage music and videos" setting disabled after upgrading iTunes!

Hello every one.
I used to manage my musics and videos manualy , so naturally "manually manage music and videos" check box was always "cheked"
Now after i upgrade my itunes to latest version (11.1.3.8), i find out that option is "Unchecked"!!
So i am not able to copy any music or video or book too my iphon !
If i try to enable that option again, it will clear my libraries and i will lose anything.
Why this happened? what can i do ? any workaround? seems like a bug to me. i didnt do anything just updated my itunes. that option was enabled on my iphone for like 3 years! now i just upgrade my iTunes and that check box is unchecked.
It seems stupid itunes think its another machine and says " it is synced with another library"
Any suggestion please?

Yea, i managed to fix my issue in a wild fashion way But I DONT suggest it to anyone.
I like to hear why it happened after upgrading iTunes and if there is any peaceful solution.
Bythe way, here is how i fixed it :
1-i checked "manually manage music and videos" checkbox and clicked on "Sync" button
2-It showed a threating message that it will erase my music and videos ,......
3-I clicked on OK button and let iTunes do any thing she said , but the second it started to delete my treasures from my iphone, i disconnected my phone by pulling USB cable.
Now i have my musics and videos untouched and got that Option enabled again and i can manage my Music/Videos and Books manually.

Songs and videos all disappear after sync

Since updating to the new OS, sometimes when I sync my iPod touch, all the music and videos disappear. I then have to restore and it take a long time as I have a 64GB touch and LOTS of music. It's irritating to go to listen to some music and the entire library is missing. Just started with the new OS. Any suggestions?

Mine just had this problem. I read one of the other discussions and they said it was most likely caused by Genius. Either way, I just added a song to my iPod that wasn't already on there and ta da! All music and vids were back!

Unable to synch purchased iTunes videos to iPhone after transfer from PC

I just purchased a new MacBook and have transferred my iTunes library from my original Windows PC to the Macbook. None of the videos will synch to my iPhone. As a test, I purchased another small movie from iTunes and it still will not synch the new movie either. All of this worked on my Windows PC and had all the movies on the iPhone before I made the switch.
All my music and music videos have transferred and function with no problems. It is only the purchased movies. The Video tab in iTunes does not show any of the movies.
I can play the movies from within iTunes and I have authorized my Macbook on iTunes.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I answered it myself. Feel like such a n00b. No matter how many times I double-checked every option before I posted this question, it finally made itself know and it was right in front of me.
For those that got blindsided by it like I did, the option is located on the bottom section of the Video tab. My laptop screen only displayed the top portion and I did not notice the scroll bar on the right. Once I saw it and scrolled down, there it was.
Time to buy a desktop with a large monitor!

Music and Video List are not shown in iTunes

My iTunes will not show music or video (or any media) lists or displays. I had repartitioned my Macbook and ended up doing an fresh OSX install. I used Migration Assistant to clone all my apps, including iTunes, from my MacMini. Everything works except, when I bring up iTunes on the Macbook, I have no lists for Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.
Despite that, all the music seems to be there as I can get it to advance to the next song, etc. Movies and TV Shows are another problem. I can see the media in the iTunes files. But I can't play them directly in iTunes.
If I bring up Front Row, I can see the titles for the Videos and TV Shows, but if I select one I get a "bad format" type error message.
I've tried completely removing and reinstalling iTunes on the Macbook (even removing the related .kext and .plist files). I've tried doing a backup if the iTunes library on the MacMini and a restore into a clean iTunes install on the MacBook, all with no change.
Any ideas?

Interesting... my iTunes shows music and TV shows, BUT it doesn't show those tabs in the iTunes Store... I hope someone can answer these! I can't download music!

Ipod self-erased all music and won't download it again from itunes!!!!

Help! I was updating my ipod with some new songs, and it came up saying that I had exceeded my limit (even though I hadn't) and that ipod was going to make a folder of all my music and call it "harriet's ipod". All well & good- clicked Ok. Then I realised that it hadn't stored any playlists or ordered albums etc so I deleted the "harriet's ipod" folder/playlist from itunes and now my ipod is blank!!! And it now doesn't let me update any songs AT all as it says that there are no playlists, even though there are on itunes... please help!!!

E and F drives disappear after I install iTunes and Quick Time

Whenever I install iTunes/Quick Time on my computer, my E and F drives "disappear" and I have no way of accessing them or playing CDs/DVDs. The only way I know how to get them back is to restore my computer to an earlier date. When I do that, I no longer have iTunes/Quick Time on my computer. My computer is an HP Pentium 4 with Windows XP.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? It drives me crazy and I can't update my iPod Shuffle very often because of what I have to go through to get my drives back when I'm done. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

First since you have done restores, you need to goto microsofts windows update site and update windows. Then goto the PC makers site and install all updates for your model, especailly BIOs IDE controller and CD/DVD ROM updates.
After that install itunes.
Then rightclick "My COmputer" hit Manage>Device manager and see if theres a "Code 41" error message showing beside your CD DVD Drives

All note have disappeared after transfer from 3GS to 4 and update...

Any way to retrieve?
Lost 30+ notes. They do not show on either phone.

I've just gone into Settings on the 3GS, and went onto iCloud
I've gone down to Storage & Backup and turned 'iCloud Backup' ON
then clicked 'Back Up Now' and it says its going to take about 2 hours,
so im guessing its now backing up the Apps etc to iCloud?
When the 2 hours is up, what will happen then?
do I go onto Settings - iCloud on the iPhone 4
or do I go on something on iTunes?
All I want is everything from the 3GS on the 4,
then I can sell the 3GS....
I cant find anything on the 4 Settings to restore from this 3GS iCloud Backup though,
am I doing something wrong?

The USA store got everything from videos to music to movies and tv shows while the Egyptian store is very poor we can only buy apps and we can't even back them up on iTunes ... I don't know what's the problem , I guess Egypt is a good market for apple , so why don't we get support !?

Music and Videos are gone after charging Ipod Touch 4th gen battery

The battery had completly died on my Ipod touch. Once it was fully charged, I unplugged it from the wall and turned it on, but all of my videos and music were gone!! However, my apps and photos were still there as well as my settings. What caused this?

Yes it did come 70% charged but I charged it, then drained it to charge it from 0% to 100%
the problem is from 0% it took 1 hour and 4 minutes 43 seconds to be fully charged to 100%
This doesn't seem normal as apple says it takes 4 hours.
