Music App Glitches

Hey...... how's it going. I have Itunes 7.0.4 and my music app is significantly glitched for several different artists. First off, the artist A$AP Rocky appears in two different columns for no notable reason.
The files are connected and they'll both be deleted if I delete them in 1 column.
Second, the artist A$AP Ferg's album Trap Lord appears with the wrong cover in my music app, even though every song in the album has the proper cover in iTunes.
The cover displayed is instead the cover to another album I own, by the name of Young Rich N*ggas. One song in the Trap Lord album appears with the Young Rich N*ggas cover in the music app, however it has the correct cover in itunes.
Next, my album Young Rich N*ggas also asks me if I want to "show complete album" in my music app, even though I have every song downloaded onto my music app.
Can anyone explain to me what the cause of these glitches is and how can I fix them? Thanks.

You can try changing that art work and a resync the double artist I have and am working out a fix

  • Music app glitch (Doesn't show my music)

Ipod 4th gen, 8gb (2.8gb Audio; 1.94gb Apps; the rest is free)
Whenever I try to open my music app it says "No content download from itunes", and when I plug my ipod in to my Pc itunes says that I have atleast 2.8gb of music. And when i open the music tab it shows all of my music. The App doesn't crash though.

When did you publish to store? It might just be a matter of waiting for it to show up:

  • Music Start/Stop Times with iTunes Match causes iOS Music App to glitch

I set Start Time and Stop Time values for my music in iTunes to crop off non-music parts of tracks, but the Start/Stop Times cause the iOS Music app to glitch out when the track streams via iTunes Match. If a track has a Start Time set, the track will get stuck, and repeat the first fraction of a second of the track over and over, seemingly for the amount of the Start Time. And if the Stop Time is set, the NEXT track will glitch out. For example, if a track has a Start Time of 0:10, the track will glitch out for at least 10 seconds before the track actually starts playing. Sometimes the track never stops advances beyond 0:00.
I think the problem caused by the fact that iTunes Match is streaming the entire track so the Music app just freaks out for the duration of the Start/Stop Times.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a workaround?
For now, I've just been searching my 22,000 song library for tracks with Start/Stop Times and exporting new hard-cropped files, but this is tedious, takes up hard drive space, and degrades the audio with lossy-to-lossy double-compression.

I'm having the exact same problem and from my research I believe that the old process of being able to turn ITM off, sync your music to your iPad, and then turn ITM back on no longer work.  You are correct that going through this process wipes out your music.  It's only on IOS 6.0 on my Gen 3 ipad because on my gen 1 iPad, I can't upgrade to IOS 6.0 and the old process still works fine under IOS 5.0.
In order to get around this I created a massive playlist (a superset of all my other playists) that I downloaded by using the download button in order to get local copies of my music on my ipad 3.0.
It seems to be working for now but I can't force my ipad to keep all that music local anymore.  If I download other music or movies in the future (and become low on space) Apple makes the decision about what to remove from my local copy in order to fit the new content on the device.

  • Thumbnail not showing for artist view on music app

Ever since iOS 7 (now on iOS 8.1.1), the thumbnails in the artist view of the music app on my iPhone 5 sometimes shows up but not for all artists.
I have tried restoring iPhone as new phone without restoring a backup (as I thought the backup may include the problem), restarted iTunes and iPhone, restarted MacBook on OS X Lion. Removed music, re-sync'd. Manually added album covers, re-sync'd.
Al album covers show, but artist view where a promo-type  picture of the artist is usually shown does not work for all artists.
Would have been more reliable if iOS could have simply used the latest album cover as the artist thumbnail.

It's a universal glitch with ios5. With any double album (i.e. Greatest Hits Vol.1 and Greatest Hits Vol. 2), the 2nd album is not coming up under "Artist". It's there under "Albums" and "Songs", but NOT "Artists".

  • Music app problems iOS 8.2

I'd thought I would post this, but my music app was perfectly fine till I upgraded to iOS 8.2. I can't figure this one out, because it's still bugging me. But whenever I restored my iPod touch 5g, some of the music artists on certain songs would have different names or will have a featuring artist added on for no reason.
    Example:
Taio Cruz & Travie McCoy - Higher (as listed on the store and iTunes playlist)
Taio Cruz - Higher (as listed on iPod)
I don't know what's going on here, but I never edited the changes. As it's showing up different on my iPod. Does it have something to do with iCloud or is it a glitch? If anyone else is experiencing this problem, please reply below.
    Thanks!
P.S. - I've restored it six times and the problem is still there. And noticed it on my iPhone as well...

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • 1.2 Problem with Bubbles and Music App

Ok, so I updated to WebOS 1.2.0, Sprint Configuration 1.8. There are 2 apps that I use all the time on the phone: Music player (via BT headphones) and the games Bubbles (Im addicted to it). Once I updated to 1.2.0 I have noticed that when the 2 of these if I attempt to play bubbles, it will allow the music to play for an additional 20 seconds or so and then the music will pause. I have tried this with the palm headphones plugged in and got the same result. I also tried removing bubbles and reinstalling from the App Store. Again, the same result.  The music app will continue to play as long as I dont play the Bubbles game. It doesnt matter which card is in focus, as soon as i tap on the bubbles it pauses. Any thoughts?

Yep, definitely a glitch with Bubbles.  Though I have also noted that once you begin playing the game and tap Play on the music player, if you turn the game sounds off, the music continues to play uninterrupted in the background while you play the game.
I don't have much else in games, but neither Tic-Tac-Toe or Yahtzee are causing the same problem for me.
p.s.  email notification is working just fine

  • Music app playlist keeps repeating even if repeat is off

    Hi!
So when I go to sleep I usually play music from a playlist in the music app. I always make sure the 'repeat all' function is off, so the music doesn't keep playing all night long. But quite a few times, despite the 'repeat all' function being off, I still wake up in the middle of the night to find the music is still playing, hours after it should have stopped. The playlist I usually (fall to) sleep with is usually between 30 ~ 60 minutes but is still playing 3 ~ 4 hours later.
Anyone else here with the same problem? Is it a bug or just some random glitch?
Thanks in advance for any input on this!

I have this exact same issue but it doesn't happen all the time!

  • Enhanced podcasts not working in iOS 5; new music app keeps crashing

I just updated to iOS5 and regularly view enhanced podcasts.  after the update, I can no longer figure out how to view the enhanced version anymore.  I get the sound, but the image does not change.  Can anybody please help?
on top of this the new music app in iOS5 keeps crashing and I have to restart the iPad all the time.

Having the same issue except for the crashes. Everything seems to be working, just not the way it used to. The enhanced podcasts were great, the ones that I subscribed to changed the backgrounds often and linked to other sites and gave some great info. Now... Nothing!
I have been reading that everyone is having issues with podcasts and the button to get new episodes, or whatever it was called, and this may just be another glitch. I sure wish they could fix it. I listen to podcasts more that I ever listened to music.

  • Music app, why is it downloading a lot?

The music app on the iphone is baffling me. I don't use match so all the songs are physically on the phone. Now if I play from the song list I quite often see the spinny wheel in the top right in action for brief periods. So obviously the music app is downloading stuff - but if I go into songs via playlists it doesn't do this. What on earth is the phone constantly accessing the internet for? These are not cloud non downloaded purchases as I don't select these to play even tho I have set them to view. The thing is I can see that this is slowly taking up storage aswell. Today I have dropped 0.2 gigs alone and I am sure it relates to this activity! The iPad does it occasionally as well but not nearby as much. The only caveat I guess is this is a replacement iphone on which I restored an icloud back up several days ago. I did also sync to itunes to add more music that wasn't in the back up. Could it be something that calms down after a while, maybe the phone is downloading and caching extra data. But I would really like to know what on earth it is downloading when traversing songs in the songs list/tab - if the track is physically stored on the phone then it should have no business downloading/accessing the internet

Could it be something to do with the 'show all songs' whereby a number of songs have the cloud symbol next to them. So if you are on the songs tab and on shuffle it is downloading songs in advance without you wanting them and caching them - so the song count on the phone increases but the added songs still have the cloud symbol next to them. And with this in mind that's why my iPad does it less as this has been owned/used over a much longer period. I am stabbing in the dark with this theory but if if even part of it is correct than that's a rubbish glitch - that ios 7 is downloading song data I specifically don't want on my phone unless I choose to go into that song myself and stream or download it. I like having the show all option as it lets me browse and pick but it's counter productive if ios downloads extra songs anyway
Hard to explain but I hope that made sense

  • I dont want my purchased music from iTunes shown in my music app. But I cant get rid. I delete only for it to stay where it is.

I dont want my purchased music from iTunes shown in my music app. But I cant get rid. I delete only for it to stay where it is. Any tips? Or is this a glitch from IOS7?

go to settings/music/show all music-off.  I had this same issue

  • After updating to ios5, my music app crashes my phone

Before updating my iPhone 3Gs, my iPod app worked fine both in the app screen directly and from the lock screen. Now, after the new iOS5 update has been applied, whenever I use the new music app for an extended period of time, the music starts glitching and it crashes the iPhone causing it to reboot. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? All the music on my iPhone has been purchased and uploaded to my phone via iTunes so there are no outside sources that the music files came from and thus no possible corrupt data. I'm confused.

I have actually since found a solution to my problem and now have a pretty seamless iphone 3gs running iOS5. The problem turned out to be what appears to be some faulty album information in one o my albums. Lord only knows what exact part of the album was faulty but either way it's fixed now. I discovered said faulty album by merely systematically navigating to each song in my library until my iPhone crashed. Once i found one song that caused it to die, i checked the other songs in the album. Turns out the whole album caused. My iPhone to crash. I deleted the album out of y library and now everything is working just the way it's supposed to. So it is likely you guys are also experiencing a similar issue with possible faulty ir corrupt song data. I would go through at some point and check out every song you have installed to your phone and see if you can weed out the bad songs.
About the seemingly misplaced album art, i had that issue as well for a long time i was working with a pc that was running windows xp at the time. I recently switched over to a mac mini as my source to sync my phone with and now all my album art work is right as rain. I'v heard this is a common occurence among pc users and i would be willing to bet that if you can get your paws on a mac and sync it up with a mac, all your albins will look the way they're supposed to.
By the way just incase there is one specific album that is causing th problem, the devious album on mine was was one of the EPs released by Skrillex. I actually went to itunes to doublecheck what the album name was and it's actually been removed. This may actually be what caused the iPhone failure. But anyway if you have that EP that has songs like weekends and f***ing die on it then that'ms the one i'm talking about.
    Hope this helps.

  • Any way of going back to io7 from io8, nothing works anymore. £500 plus worth of music apps not functioning anymore, is it really worth investing any more  time or money into this product? what a joke it is.

Is there any way of going back to io7 from io8?
Nothing works anymore. £500 plus worth of music apps and hardware not functioning, Apps that I have paid for disappearing from the store after a reset. is it really worth investing any more time or money into this product? what a joke it is becoming. This is worse than windows vista.
Can anyone from Apple help me with this? thought not. You don't allow reverting back to earlier io versions for some strange reason. Have you forgot that we are the customer?

Sorry, Apple does not support downgrading.
As to apps disappearing, it's not uncommon for apps to be removed from the app store. I have a couple of games that I play that are no longer available.
Did you install 8 'over the air'? If so, research into doing a restore. Use a computer to back up your device and then reinstall iOS8 via a computer, and then restore your data from the backup. Sometimes a clean install clears away glitches caused by over the air installs.
If you just wish to express your frustration to apple, on the lower right corner of this page is a 'contact us' link. Send them feedback and let them know.

  • I downloaded an album on itunes using my new itouch; but it's only allowing me to put three songs at any one time into the music app...how can i get it to just move them all in there?

i downloaded an album on itunes using my new itouch; but it's only allowing me to put three songs at any one time into the music app...how can i get it to just move them all in there?

hi philly, thanks for getting back to me, especially on such a busy day.
I don't think that's quite the issue though. I bought an album and it appears in 'my purchases' within the itunes app. Yet, in order to listen to the music, i must use the 'music' app and in this application, there are only three tracks displayed at any one time from my downloaded album.
I can 'download all' from the 'my purchases' section but that still doesn't help, it just keeps the last three tracks downloaded in the music app.
I have the 'icloud' enabled and wondered if it had anything to do with that.
i have successfully downloaded another full album totally into the music app, but this first album is causing me problems.

  • When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer

  • How do I use iCloud if I have multiple devices using one computer/library, but I don't want contacts, calender, etc. to be shared? Can each device have it's own Apple ID and still pull music, apps, etc. from one library?

Both my mother, father, and I recently got iPhones. We've all had iPods in the past and been able to survive under a single Apple ID/iCloud account. Now that we all have iPhones, we've heard a couple horror stories about parents and kids contacts and calenders merging when they are registered under the same Apple ID. What steps should we take to avoid this problem? We would still like to be able to share the same music, apps, videos, etc. If we all get individual Apple IDs, can we still all use the same iTunes library we have on our computer without any pitfalls?
Thank you! A response would be much appreciated(:

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs.  (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.)  This will prevent you from ending up with merged data.  You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.
