Music app no longer supports single album pictures

Am I missing something. The musci app seems to be only able to display two rows of album art when in lanscape mode. It used to support just one. I find it more difficult to scroll though my albums when using the dock in my vehicle. Is there a way of setting this back ? Does anyone else have problems with landscape mode too. The radio portion of the music app doesn't seem to suport landscape mode either.
Thanks for reading.....

I have the same problem, and after hours of trying to figure out the problem i finally did!! Its going to be a pain in the BUTT, but its the only way. :/
1. Look for the song file.
2. Right click and choose prefences
3. Go to details and edit the information
-  "Title" aka songs name
-  "Album artist"
- "Album"
-The rest of the stuff can be filled in if you want
4. Click OK
5. Drag it into itunes
Hope this help. ;D

  • Just upgraded to Mavericks and my HP6100 printer no longer works, when I try to reload the software it says PowerPC apps no longer supported.  Is there a way to use my HP6100 Printer with Mavericks?

Just upgraded my 2009 iMac (3.06 Ghz, core 2 duo $GB 1067 Mhz DDR3) to Mavericks OSX 10.9.5 and my HP6100 printer no longer works, when I try to reload the software it says PowerPC apps no longer supported.  Printer says the software was improperly installed. Is there a way to use my HP6100 Printer with Mavericks or do I need to go back to Mountain Lion or Snow Leopard?

It's not clear whether your printer is included in the Apple list - there is an Officejet 6100 and a couple of other types. Go to the page linked to above and use the browser search for 6100.
I'm afraid HP are notorious for not supporting older printers - I had the same problem. Probably they hope you will buy another printer (I did, but it was a Canon). I did look on HP's site and couldn't see a driver - you could give it a try (make sure you have the exactly correct printer name):
    http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/support-search.html?tab=1#/qryterm=HP6100&search_search type=s-002
Alternatively ou could try Gutenprint (open source software):
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
I found it would indeed drive the printer, but the colour dithering wasn't very satisfactory and the duplex printing bolt-on wouldn't work. However as Gutenprint is free it's worth trying to see if it's any good for you.

  • IS THERE A LIST OF APPS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY LION?

IS THERE A LIST OF APPS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY LION?

You even gave me a star for my sarcastic answer. Now I suppose I should earn it for real
I would not consider any list of applications known "not supported by Lion" to be valid. I did a quick check of the Roaring apps survey and found identical applications listed as both compatible and incompatible. Which is it? None of my applications are listed, including the one I haven't touched since 2006 and that works just fine in Lion.
Any application developer, including Intuit, is free to release an upgrade that will enable their software to work in Lion or even make use of Lion's new features. For an application to not function in Lion, it must be either:
    1) Highly specialized, well-made, and very dependent on a specific version of the underlying operating system. Parallels is a good example.
    2) Poorly written. I won't give any examples for this category, but you know who they are. Any application that doesn't employ low-level operating system interfaces and breaks in Lion means that its developers do not care about the product or its customers. They are using interfaces that have been declared obsolete by Apple years ago. They have made a caculated decision to not update the software until something actually breaks. Furthermore, they have made no effort to test their software against beta versions of Lion. Or maybe they did and the software is so poorly written that they couldn't port it from 10.6 to 10.7 in six months.
    3) Completely abandonned. Quicken is the primary example. It was last updated in 2007 and those updates completely ignored the changes to the Intel processor in 2006.
You are unlikely to encounter anything from category 1 above. Those developers worked with Apple to get their software ready before Lion was ready. There are a large number of applications in category 2 and 3. Some are very expensive, prompting people to hang on to them for years. Any developer that sells software more expensive than the computer it runs on considers their software to be the priority. In those cases, the computer and operating system are merely vehicles for you to use their product. Updates to either are not allowed or supported. You know who I'm talking about here. You are free to fork over another $1200 for the latest version that will work on Lion. Just don't expect it to work on 10.8 - because it surely won't.

Using Voice Over in the ios5 music app, when tapped into an album there is no way to back out of it except by switching off voice over! Help. This is preventing me upgrading the iPad2 to iOS5 for a blind man I work with. Am I missing something or is it a bug?

here is a link to macosxhints.com that tells you how to output all of your feed URLs to a terminal window. from there you can cut and paste them into your new feed reader of choice...

  • In ios 6 I could choose an artist on the music app and see all his albums in a list. Now, with ios 7, it shows all the songs from every album, making it EXTREMELY hard to see all the albums. Is there a way to minimize this view and see only the albums?

    Hello!
I need some help with the music app in ios 7...
In ios 6, I could choose an artist from the "srtists" view and it would show me all his albums as a list. Now, in ios 7, when I choose an artist, it shows me every song underneath every album, making it impossible to see al the albums at once! Is there anyway to minimize this view so I could see only the albums' titles as a list?
It is VERY annoying. I would very much appreciate any help on this!
    Thank you

    Exactly!
This is all about the experience and accessibility. I don't even mind if the new desing is beautiful or not, but if I find myself, like you, avoiding looking for my music, my experience becomes frustrating. I have about 35 albums of a single artist and I used to love going over them and choose the right thing for me, especially being on the road a lot, and now I have to think twice about even entering his name.
I really hope Apple will take those kind of things into consideration when they issue updates for ios 7, and maybe also give us back the goole search which was embeded into the spotlight search (which is really not that big of a request).
And for your 4s - get the new iphone, it's MUCH better

  • Music App no longer showing Artist view iOS6

In the Music app on iOS 6 I have accidentally changed the Artist column under More -> Edit to only include albums by Linkin Park. I am not sure how to revert to showing all Artists. Is there any way to reset the views? For some additional information, I am using iPhone 5 and iTunes match.

Just some additional information, I don't even see a way to change the tab names or what they include. I have no idea how I edited the Artist tab to only include linkin park. Is there anyway to edit the categories?

  • HP Connected Music app no longer working

    Hello,
My HP Connected Music app is no longer working on my Pavilion 15.  Every time I open it, it loads then immediately minimizes itself.  When I maximize it, it appears to load for a few seconds then minimizes itself again.  I hadn't downloaded anything or changed any system settings prior to this problem occurring, so I'm not sure why it's doing it.
I've done a system restore, made no difference.  I was going to uninstall then reinstall the app, but I can't seem to find it in the Windows Store (didn't come up when I typed "HP Connected Music").
I've noticed all my other apps still work fine.  I've also noticed that on HP's website it states that this product isn't available in the U.S.  Is that true?  What's the deal?  It came with the notebook when I bought it just a few months ago.  Please help.
    This question was solved.

  • Mountain Lion- Power PC App no longer supported

Just downloaded Mountain Lion.  Got message cannot open Quicken.  Power PC App are not longer supported.  What happened?  Need Quicken.  Please help.

Just so all of the pertinent information is posted here for others with the same problem:
Intuit released Quicken Essentials some years ago, which is written for Intel and hence will work on Lion/Mountain Lion.  However, most Quicken users are very unhappy with the limited features offered in Quicken Essentials.  Normally the Genuis Bar advisors would be correct to advise users to update to the latest version of a software package.  Howerver, in the case of Quicken, it is a mistake; and one they are not likely to be aware of.
Users of Quicken 2005, 2006 & Quicken 2007, can now purchase for $15 from Intuit Quicken 2007 for Lion (which also works with Mountain Lion) and it will work from day one with your existing data file:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
Users of Quicken 2004 and earlier must use the PowerPC version of Quicken 2006 or 2007 to first update their data files and then they can use Quicken 2007 for Lion.  Obviously the PPC versions of Quicken 2006 or 2007 will NOT run in Lion or Mountain Lion, as is, so you must either update these data files BEFORE you update to Lion/Mountain Lion or find a way to run this PPC program in Snow Leopard (alternative computer, dual-boot into Snow Leopard or Snow Leopard installed in Parallels 7 in Lion).
Quicken 2006 PPC can be obtained from Ferd at this website:

  • Final Cut studio won't install- "powerpc apps no longer supported"

I'm trying to install my old copy of final cut studio 5.1 and it tells me 'power pc apps are no longer supported', however this is a universal copy of studio 5.1 (intel or powerpc) and it's being installed on an intel machine. Any thoughts?

There are lots of threads on this subject if you do a search, but the answer is that you need to install Rossetta from a  Snow Leopard disc to be able to run the installer.  Also, I believe you need to update to 5.1.4 before you launch FCP and even then it's not a guarantee that the software will be trouble free under Lion.

  • Applications that came with Epson printer on Win XP respond "Can't open... PowerPC apps no longer supported.  Were they in Snow Leopard before I upgraded?

Epson pinter came with photo apps that ran under Windows XP. Loaded onto iMac 27", they don't respond with "Not compatable with Mac" but rather with "You can't open the application ..... whichever one ..... because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".  Were they supported under Snow Leopard OS before I upgraded to Lion?  Why "NO LONGER" SUPPORTED?

Were they supported under Snow Leopard OS before I upgraded to Lion?
    Yes, using something called Rosetta.
    Why "NO LONGER" SUPPORTED?
OS X 10.7 does not support Power PC applications.  I do not speak for Apple, but it appears they determined that since most applications are written Universal Binary, there was no reason to incur the expense of maintenance in the new OS X.
Many manufacturers have provided updates for older equipment (some have not).  I suggest you either run software update andor check with Epson.

  • Native music app - poor handling of compilation albums

The native music app's handling of music files is Genre/Artist/Album and list of
    track names...
This presents a major issue with compilation albums where you quickly end up with a
huge number of artists being listed at the second tier.
It really needs to sense multi-artist albums and list them accordingly (e.g.
Genre/Various Artist/Album and list tracks as artist - track name).
    BIG oversight IMO.
Are there any third party music apps that do it properly?

Ah ignore that last bit (the aside). Just discovered that getting the Album column to sort by Year has this affect.

  • PowerPC apps no longer support - error message from Elements that I bought yesterday

Well, you've clearly not test your code for several years.
I bought Elements from Apple' Appstore yesterday, I did an hour of work, saved the file as a PSD file, when I opened it today I got an error message saying that the file couldn't be opened as POWERPC applications were no longer supported.
    POWERPC!!!!!!!??????????? WTF??????????????
    So - I want a refund.
In return I'll delete your joke of a product from my 13 month old INTEL MacBookPro and never purchase another Adobe product.
    Hope that's a deal.
    Thanks
    Neil

Do you think you're talking to customer support, are you just venting, or would you like to try to solve this? If the first, this is just a user to user forum and you're just talking to other adobe customers here, not adobe, and nobody here can give anyone a refund. For that, you would need to use the Report a Problem link on your apple store receipt.
On the other had, if you want to try to figure out the problem we'll try to help.
