Music app playlist keeps repeating even if repeat is off

Hi!
So when I go to sleep I usually play music from a playlist in the music app. I always make sure the 'repeat all' function is off, so the music doesn't keep playing all night long. But quite a few times, despite the 'repeat all' function being off, I still wake up in the middle of the night to find the music is still playing, hours after it should have stopped. The playlist I usually (fall to) sleep with is usually between 30 ~ 60 minutes but is still playing 3 ~ 4 hours later.
Anyone else here with the same problem? Is it a bug or just some random glitch?
Thanks in advance for any input on this!

I have this exact same issue but it doesn't happen all the time!

  • Music App playlists are wonky after 7.0.6. update

After updating my iPhone to 7.0.6 I'm encountering two issues w/ Music app playlists.
1st: If I manually select (touch to play) a song the app plays the one two down from it. Example: if I have Song 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in a playlist and touch song 3 song 5 plays.
2nd: When organizing a brand new playlist the song I drag from the bottom of the list sometimes either disappears or duplicates itself elsewhere in the playlist, i.e., I end up without the song or it shows in two places w/i the list.
Question is, is this a known bug or is something corrupted in either my Music app or copy of 7.0.6.? I'm out of town right now so I have no way of doing a backup and restore, but curious to know what the problem might be.
FWIW I've already tried shutting down and restarting the iPhone and also quitting the Music app are restarting it.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Music App: Playlist name doesn't display under folder

I believe I have found a small but annoying bug in Music App.  I have my playlists organized into folders in itunes.  After sync'ing playlists in those folders to my iphone 6 (ios 8.1), when you select the folder, and then a playlist, instead of showing the playlist name at the top of the screen, it repeats the folder name.   For example, I have the folder "Smart" that I have my smart playlists in, when I choose a playlist in that folder this is what I see:
Instead of showing the playlist name "Random Hard Rock" it repeats the folder name "Smart".

hey i got the same problem on my iphone 5 since i updated to 8.1 what's wrong with this update ?

  • Music App Playlist Questions

HI I decided to start using the Apple music app rather than Spotify but so far ive been hit with nothing but high prices and problems.
I want to stream music purchased from the store not download it which works fine but random songs download and cannot be deleted even through settings. I only got rid of them by re logging into apple which in the progress removed all the stored data to my playlists...
AM I right in saying that Apple only offers device synced playlists with iTunes Match even if you purchase ALL your music from the store?
Perhaps im doing something wrong but how do I get this app to work with playlists that aren't stored locally?
SOrry if that didnt make much sense hard to explain!
    thanks.

  • Music app playlist language

Hi. I am a Korean user with an iPod Touch 32GB. I have both Korean and American songs, I set my language as English, Korean, back to English, then I realized that the language for my playlists part of my music app is in Korean. The playlist names are completely in Korean. Does anyone know how to solve this?

  • Setting tabs in order for music app-playlists songs artists tabs

How do you set the icons for organize tabs in the music app?

I have also noticed bugs with the music app after updating to iOS 8.2, though not exactly the one you mentioned.
Soon after updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.2, I connected it to my computer via USB cable because I wanted to transfer new music from my iTunes library to my iPhone. My iPhone, before I connected it to my computer, had about 5000 songs on it. However, after my iPhone 6 synced with iTunes, all of a sudden the amount of songs on my iPhone went down to about 2500 songs. When I looked through the Music App, I realized that only the music I had purchased from iTunes remained on my iPhone, while music ripped from my CD collection had somehow been deleted. I ended up having to transfer my whole iTunes music library to my iPhone again! This issue has to have something to do with updating to iOS 8.2, because it has never happened to me before, and iTunes hasn't been updated lately but is up to date and has worked fine.
After transfering all my music back on my iPhone again, I started noticing a major bug within the iPhone Music App. The incorrect Artist Info is displayed for many songs I purchased from iTunes. For example, I have the album "My Everything (Deluxe)" by Ariana Grande on my iPhone. Only one song from the album, "Love Me Harder", is by the artists "Ariana Grande & The Weeknd" and supposed to display as such in the artist info section in the music app. However, 13 of the 15 tracks from the album all incorrectly display "Ariana Grande & The Weeknd" in the artist info for each track in the Music App (the exception being the track "Bang Bang" which actually does display the correct artist info for that song). All these songs display the correct info on iTunes, and I even tried removing the album, and then retransfering it back to my iPhone, to no avail. This bug occurs on many tracks and albums I've purchased from iTunes, but only in the iPhone Music App, and only started after updating to iOS 8.2. Tracks ripped from my CD collection seem to be unaffected.

  • How to fix Music app playlist bug

Hi guys, i would like to ask a for a bug fix on my iPod. I have a lot of songs beginning with the same word to be in one place. Last time when I syncronized my iPod (iOS6.1.3) and my iPad (iOS7.0.2) with the latest iTunes on my computer, I received a bug. My iPod's musics are in bad order (even with reboot, sync, deleting music-resync). For example ' music beginning with the word, 'Jump' before song beginning with word 'The' = J before T. But my iPad has the correct order so I wonder what is this bug. Please help me fix it!
    Thanks for help!

  • How do I get the Podcast app to keep playing even after a longer break?

So I´m using the Podcast app in order to be able to stream content without having to use Itunes. So far so good. Now, If I pause the podcast I´m listening to, the track information will stay accessible via clicking the screen or double-clicking the home button to access the Iphone Controls/Multitasking bar. For a while, that is.
If I stay away from the Iphone for a longer period of time, the memory of the track being played mysteriously vanishes, If I try to press "play" as described above the currently listed song in Itunes will instead start playing. So what I then have to do is access the Podcast App again and hope that I can find the episode I was listening to again (which of course I don´t keep track of - no pun intended).
I´ve tried changing the order of the app icons in the Controls bar, but they seem not to want to be moved.
Any tips? True continous play would be an awesome feature as I listen A LOT to podcasts.
Btw this forum is awesome. Just saw somebody replying A4-style to an apparent Troll. You show true love, guys

    HI,
I doubt it is a bug.
In Messages > Preferences > Messages you can set the Font, It's Colour and the background (default Balloons) colour as well plus of course the size.
This should stick if you Own the .plist that this info is written to (And the folder that it is in)
You should also have Read and Write permissions.
In the Finder use the Go Menu > Go to Folder and type in ~/Library/Preferences
Find com.apple.ichat.plist  (yes messages till uses this one)
    highlight it
Do a Get Info (CMD and iKeys together)
In the Info Panel at the bottom your name followed by (me) should appear.
Highlight this and then use the little cogwheel icon under the list.
A phrase saying make yourshortname (me) the owner should appear and it should be greyed out if you alredy Own it.
In the list you should be showing Read and Write Permissons
    Like so
Whilst the Preferences folder is open go to the View menu of the Finder and SHow View Options and hit Show PAth Bar.
Right click on Preferences in the Bar and select Get Info and check you Own this and have Read and Write permissions
    Repeat for Library.
If you can't write to the .plist the info you change will not be saved.  (This includes having access to the folders you have to navigate to get there).
If you are using the Format menu then this is letter by letter or word by word changes.

  • I'm having stability issues with apps, they keep crashing, even reliable apps like the App store? I've tired restarting my Ipod.

I can't seem to use applications for very long, it seems only mail, settings, and contacts work. Games, the App Store, Safari all keep shutting down to a black scree, then i'm to my home screen.

Try to reset your iPod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset.

  • Music and Playlists Keep Dissapearing

Yesterday night is when I first started having this problem. I opened up iTunes and all my songsvideosplaylists were gone. I had no clue what happened because all my music was still in their folders. So I decided to re-download them into iTunes and left it be (the weird part is that as soon as a told a friend of mine this he had the same problem, I must be cursed haha). A few minutes ago I opened up iTunes and had the same problem. So I uninstalled iTunes, and then reinstalled, redownloaded all my music. Then to test it I exed out and opened up again, and sure enough I had the same problem (My friend did have the problem today though). Anyone have any clue whats happening?

Nevermind, I've "fixed" the problem. I messed around with the files in the iTunes folder and found that the iTunes Library file was corrupt (and unreadable). I deleted everything but that (because it wouldn't let me delete that file), renamed the folder that file was in, and reinstalled iTunes.

  • Music app in iPhone 6 deletes music artwork and songs

I have spent hours trying to fix this, but have had to restore factory settings and replace 10,000+ songs to the phone twice now. I use a MacBook Pro with iTunes 12..0.1.26. I bought the 128GB iPhone 6 for the purpose of playing my large CD collection. What happens is that after adding music to my phone, I can listen to it without problems for a few weeks, and then suddenly one day all of the artwork will disappear, and when I try to play songs in a playlist it will flash up the name of each song one by one and then give a message that there are no songs to play. When I check the music library the songs are no longer on the phone. This happens with all songs except ones purchased from the iTunes Store.
I have set iTunes to manage music manually and unchecked all sync options. I have disabled iTunes Store and iTunes Match on the phone. I have "hidden" iTunes Radio on the phone. "Show All Music" and "Genius" are both disabled in the settings for the music app. I have turned cellular data off for the music app. I have even tried to trick Autofill by creating an empty folder to Autofill from as there is no option to turn Autofill off. I guess my problem is that I have spent a lot of money on CD's and Apple wants me to buy all of my music from iTunes. It would be cheaper to buy a new (non-Apple) phone than to buy my music twice, but I would prefer to stick with my iPhone if I can find a solution.

I have worked it out. All you have to do is sync the music from iTunes. It is not possible to delete music from the computer while keeping it on the iPhone. Then, whenever you want to add a few new songs, delete the entire phone, restore factory settings and start again. It only takes a couple of hours each time. Well done Apple - what an intuitive system.

  • Music app on Ipad not playing off Itunes match

The music app for my Ipad2 worked perfectly playing songs off ICloud until today.  Suddenly, when I select a song to play, instead of downloading it runs through every song on the album without actually playing any music.  Any ideas what's wrong?

Reconnect your iPad to your Mac and after it syncs, do not disconnect.  Click once on the iPad on the left side of the screen.  Your iPad will open in iTunes.  Click on the Music tab and you can then either check sync all music, or you can check sync selected songs playlists.  Either choose sync all music, or if you choose to select the music, you scroll down and choose the artists, albums, playlists or genres you want to sync.  You'll see your memory go down as you choose what music you want.  Once you're done choosing the music, on the right hand bottom of your iTunes screen, click Apply, then Sync to create a current backup with your music on your iPad.  Then disconnect, open iPod on your iPad and your music will be there.

  • My ipod touch 64G doesnt do allow me to do anything in music app. But I can use all other apps.  How do I fix this?? Plse help me:(

My ipod touch 64G doesnt allow me to do anything in my music app. I cant even play music or select anything.  But I can use all other apps.  How do I fix this??? PLS Help me:(

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • Music and Books keep deleting themselves from my phone

I keep having a problem with the songs and books on my phone.  When I plug my phone into iTunes the check marks on Sync Books, Sync music and Manually Manage Music and Playlists keep disappearing and wiping out my music, books and playlists.
I am running iOS 5.0.1 on an iPhone 4S.  I just updated iBooks to 2.0 and iTunes to 10.5.3.3.
Has anyone else had this problem?  If so have you been able to fix it?

I went to the local Genius Bar to ask about this.  I discovered that when I connected my iPhone to iTunes and selected Manually Manage Music and Videos in the Summary tab that Sync Music would uncheck itself.  When I re-checked  Sync Music, Sync Books would uncheck itself.  If I re-checked Sync Books, Sync Music would uncheck itself again and so on and so on.
The Genius Bar felt that there was a problem with permissions in iTunes on my Windows 7 computer that was causing this odd behavior.  They recommended that I uninstall iTunes and reinstall it.  So I did a total uninstall of iTunes, QuickTime and all the associated software associated with them and did a clean reinstall.
No change the symptoms stay the same.
But I discovered that if I left Manually Manage Music unchecked both Sync Books and Sync Music would stay checked.  This is an ok work around but iTunes isn't supposed to work this way.
Anyone have this same problem?  If so were you able to solve it?

Force close the Music apps in the muti-task window.
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
    3. The app will fly off the screen
