Music App:  Tilting Device Turns Screen into Black Tiles

Hello, I have a 5th generation iPod Touch, and I updated it to iOS 7.  I am having a minor but annoying problem with the music app.
The display for the music app looks like this:
Once in a while, when the device tilts, the screen turns into a series of black tiles, like this:
When the screen turns into black tiles, I cannot restore it to the original display.  I have to shut down the device, start it again, and hope it doesn't tilt enough to switch over to the tiles again.
Is there a way to restore the display from these black tiles to the default screen?  If so, what is the procedure?  Thank you!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Using music app on Iphone when plugged into a device

A feature I would like to see added is being able to control my phone through the music app when it is plugged into a device rather than it being disabled. I mainly listen to music in my car and my radio interface is not very user friendly when it comes to navigating through my music. However if I use pandora when I plug in my device I can control the app from my phone. This is a feature that should be compatible with the music app so that I can control it through my phone which is more user friendly.

Try a reset when your iPhone is plugged into the charger as you say it does not respond when not plugged in...
Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This may take up to 10 seconds.  This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
See if it will charge after this.

  • Ipod Touch Music App blows past options screen to playlist - No control

I just purchased a Touch 4.1 and everything is great except the Music app.. When I turn it on it flashes past the control screen with the options and goes directly to the graphical listing of music. I can only play 1 piece at a time. Regardless of how fast I try and intercept the control screen, as it flashes by ... No luck! Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall just the Music App?
    Thanks!

No, you can't do anything with the native music app. Have your reset your iPod?
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • HT204053 Using multi-user IDS and passwords to access the apps website is turning me into an Apple hater, frankly. Am I alone in the crowd of users?

Ihave abouy 4-5 different user IDS and passwords that I have to juggle to get access to the Apps store. Almost every time I try to get an update, etc., I have to go through the routine of either changing both user ID and password, or just the password. I am a long-time Apple customer but have drifted as far as possible from using Apple updates and purchases. It's just not worth the time, exasperation and energy involved. I can understand that Apple doesn't want to have varied IDs wrapped into a single ID, but it would be helpful if Apple took the time to delete all but one user ID, upon the request of an Apple customer, instead of spending so much time issuing yet another iPad and iPhone. At least, have mercy on some of Apple customers who are still buying snd using laptops and desk tops. HELP!!!

I'm not sure how you came to have so many Apple IDs, but I'd suggest that you simplify things.
I just checked the "Apple ID Support" page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/
as I imagine you have, too, and I find no instructions for closing or deleting an Apple ID, but you could simplify things quite a bit by using only one Apple ID on all of your devices.
It will take a bit of time, but I think you'll find that it's worth it.
If I were you, I would just delete all purchased apps (if you've purchased music, that's a whole different issue - but you could probably simplify your music purchases, too) from all devices accept one - your most "important" device -  and log out from all other devices. Then log in from those other devices using your preferred Apple ID, and reinstall the apps and other stuff.
It's going to be tedious, and it'll take some time, but I think you'll have a much better experience over the long term.
For one thing, you'd always be notified automatically to update/upgrade your stuff, and your log-ins to do so would be much easier.
I know it's not good news, but I hope it helps.

Same issue, same screen. I've tried switching to 16bit, but that doesn't help, so I've put it back to 32bit.
Reinstalling, alt+tab out of/into iTunes doesn't work either.

  • Why does music app not fully turn off

Press pause. The music will stop.

  • HT5957 Controlling music apps in lock screen doesn't work in ios7.02?

After applying the second update to ios7, none if my music apps function in the lock screen.  No stopping music from any app including the Apple music app in the lock screen.  This means that Bluetooth controllers such as car stereo systems can't control next track, pause or stop on any music app being accessed since the screen is generally locked while driving.  This is dangerous because the only way to control these apps - while driving - is to unlock the phone.  Apparently my phone is now more secure, but I guess that means it securely doesn't work in lock screen.

    Try A and B
    (A) Restart iPad
    1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
    3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • My nano generation 6 now stops playing music when the screen goes black

The nano recently started to do something weird.  I have been using it for a couple years with no issues.  Recently it will stop playing music as soon as the screen goes black (sleep).  it never did this before.  I have checked the settings, nothing was changed and I updated it - Restore default settings.  that didn't work.
Settings: Sleep Wake = next track
It seems to work fine when I use a speaker accessory; the music continues to play when it sleeps.

just to confirm, it is not a issue with the earphones being only partially plugged in.  I have verified this already.

  • Music App... Shuffle, lock screen ect.

A whole bunch of items that I think apple really screwed up with the release of ios7.
    1) What happened to shuffle? They changed the icon which is confusing in items to use. When you want to shuffle a certain album by an artist you simply cannot. It will shuffle every song by the artist. I noticed recently itunes starting doing this as well.
    2) Album organization. It used to be simple and easy to use. Artist>Album>Songs. It is still this format, but to get to a certain album you have to go through every song of the album before it. Extremely annoying to navigate and painful to the eyes. Another feature i have no idea why they changed.
    3) Music app from the lock screen. Now that the whole screen swips to unlock, the music controls move as well. Which make its difficult to change the volume, ski tracks difficult as the entire screen moves thinking you are trying to unlock the phone.
    4) Controls all at the bottom when unlocked. They moves shuffle, repeat, and track scrolling down to the bottom for some reason. Which crams every button in a tight space making it very easy to hit the wrong button.

it works fine  on my  phone. try to check access Settings- Control center - make sure Access on Lock Screen and Access within Apps are On. while on lockscreen mode, try swiping up from the bottom of the screen to view control center. try to play a song, then swipe it down to hide the control center. u will see there music playing while on the lockscreen and can pause it from there.. hope this will help.

  • When I purchased a music app from itune store. This got downloaded in Itune maedia/Mobile applications. How to get the songs in that app to my  itune library or on to IPAD?

I  or tranfer to my librarypurchased from Itune store a Music app. It is downloaded into intune media/mobile applications. How to get the full album msic/songs into my itunes library or on tomy IPAD? It doesnot open out. Can anybody suggest a way?

If you have a music downloader app (depends on which you have), plug your iDevice into iTunes, go to your device (on itunes), go to your apps, scroll down, and select the app thats holding your music, click on "Save As" (should be located bottom right corner), save the music to your specific folder. Once done, follow through this: Adding music and other content to iTunes and you should have your music on your iDevice music app.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT2188 iphone 4 screen gone black

I was using an app when suddenly the screen went black, and after that nothing was responding... i pugged in for charging, but it wasnt responsive... later connected on to the Itunes, but again nothing was responsive... i even tried the wake/sleep and home button for 10-15 seconds, but still its not responsive... Can anybody suggest me what to do next?

If you take apart your iPhone to do anything, it will void your warranty. You can pay an out-of-warranty fee for damage that's $149 if you open the phone.
Try a hardware reset while connected to the charger.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • IOS 5.1.1 Music app aborts after two characters entered in search field if Home Sharing in use.

The iOS 5.1.1 Music app search function works fine on my iPad 2 as long as the library being searched is resident on the iPad.
When Home Sharing from my iMac’s iTunes library is used, however, the Music app aborts without explanation after two characters are entered in the search field.
The behavior is always as expected after the first character is entered, but an abort always occurs after the second.
I have tried restarting iTunes on my iMac, and I have done a hard reset on my iPad, but the behavior remains the same.
This is not a minor problem from the user’s perspective, because unless the iTunes library being accessed is very small, it is very hard to find music from the information shown by the Music app on the iPad screen; it would be even worse for an iPhone or iPod touch. Without the search function working on iOS Music app, Home Sharing is of very limited use for me.
In case it is relevant, here is fuller information about the environment:
iMac 27" 2.93 GHz i7 12 GB RAM (Approx. 10 GB free or inactive at time of problem)
    OS X 10.7.4
    iTunes 10.6.3
    iPad 2G 16 GB Wi-Fi only
    iOS 5.1.1
    Airport Extreme 5G v 7.6.1
    Airport Express  802.11n v. 7.6.1 extending network
Has anyone else experienced a problem like this?
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks

Spoke to a "senior advisor" in the Apple TV department.  Her suggestions:  change channel in router to minimize/eliminate wifi interference from other users; move router away from any metal - i.e., DVD player, phone modem, etc.; keep router away from wireless 2.4 gH phones, which are "notorious" for crashing wifi routers.  So she confirms that the problem is one of connection to router suddenly dropping out.
My own feeling is that none of these fixes will do the trick, because it seems pretty clear that there is a hardware component here - the timing of the drops seems like an overheating issue.  It takes 35-40 minutes for the box to warm up enough for the first drop; then each consecutive drop happens quicker than the one before, as it heats up more.  Each time it drops, its tiny brain gets a little more scrambled; last night it finally wouldn't start up again at all.
My suggestion is that everyone who is experiencing this problem, please call Apple tech support and ask to speak to a senior advisor in the Apple TV department.  Make them aware of this problem!

  • What happened to the audio out function in the Music app?

I have had pretty good luck with iOS 7, but the one thing that really bugs me is that they took out the audio out function in the Music app.
In iOS 6.X's Music app the Now Playing screen had an Audio Out option at the bottom of the screen.  I am sure it was called something else, but you could tap it and choose the audio out channel you wanted to use, iPhone speakers, earphones, bluetooth and I think AirPlay.
Why would they remove this option?
I was just wondering if there is another music player that still includes this option. I use Stezza for in the car (Big buttons) and Lagu when I want the old iOS music player interface.  But neither of them include the audio select option.
I will submit this as feedback on the feedback page to see if they will consider putting it back in.
