Music apps start on their own

I had several music programs installed. Periodically one would start on its own. Random song. I have no buttons on my desktop to start them. Music apps would start when phone sitting by itself or when using the phone in various ways. I deleted all the music apps but the default music ager is now opening in its place.
I notice when using bluetooth it starts everytime when the bluetooth is either connected or disconnected as well as when I hang up a phonecall used through bluetooth.
I went into default music player in settings and tried clearing its cache but clear cache button is ghosted.
Any ideas?

I know that Music APPS can do this from time to time when Bluetooth headsets are involved. e.g., WinAmp had this issue at 1 time whereby it would "take over" any Bluetooth connection so that pressing the PLAY button on my headset would start my last WinAmp song -- even though I was listening to another APP at the time - like TuneIn Radio or iHeartRadio. This resulted in both playing at the same time.
Maybe take a look at which Music APP you have installed and uninstall it and test for a few days?  (which one(s) did you install?)

  • Apple music app starts automatically in car since ios 8 update on iPhone 5

Since updating to iOS 8 on an iPhone 5 (thru iTunes on laptop), apple music app starts on its' own in the car using bluetooth.
It would start playing music after I started the igniton-though I never use that app or leave music of any sort running in my car when I turn car off.
Other times, it starts music if I use Google Maps or apples' iMessage . Quite annoying.

II'm sorry, I thought I'd updated to 8.02 but I checked and I only have 8.0.  I'm afraid to update to 8.02 as I've been reading both good and bad about it, like it may fix my app problem but screw up my Wi-fi.   I don't know what to do.   I'm between a rock and a hard place.

    No.
Each Apple ID stores its own list of software purchases.

  • Firefox and ie are starting on their own and keep opening multipul sessions.

The initial problem started when I opened iTunes. When it opened firefox also opened and kept opening mutlipul sessions. I am running Window 7. I also have the same problem with Internet Explorer. At one point both programs had opened on their own and kept opening multipul sessions. I tried deleting firefos and reloading, but still have the same issue. I have ran my anit-virus and malware software, but neither showed any problems. I cannot get on the internet to look for solutions because of the prblem. When I try to type in a search another session pops up. I am currently searching for help from my office computer.

Ran all the malware apps suggested and still have the same problem. Deleted and reloaded Firefox and Chrome...When I open them they keep rebooting....I can load and page for a short period of time and all of a sudden it reloads my home page...

  • Why do apps open on their own?

I have a Mac Mini with Mountain LIon.
Almsot daily one or two apps or more will boot up on their own.
    Why?

    Hi,
    An Example.
At Computer Start Up and background support app for the Messages and FaceTime Apps called IMAgent also starts up.
This "Listens" for Off Line Messages if you have set Messages up for iMessages, AIM and some Jabber Servers.
It also "Listens" for calls to the ID you are using in FaceTime.
That is to say that you should have already set up these apps.
If FaceTime is set to On in the Preferences but is not Started up then an Off Line call can start up the app.
    It is similar in Messages
As Indicated the FaceTime app can be set to Off.
The Messages App as a setting in Messages Menu > Preferences > General Section about "When I Quit, Set the Status to Off Line"  when this box is ticked IMAgent will not start up the app with Off Line Messages.
As you say "Almost Daily" I an presuming that this is not on Computer Start Up ?
if that is happening it it set in System Preferences > Users and Groups > Your account > Login Items.

  • DVD parental controls started on their own

Some time ago -- maybe after I installed Lion, and continuing now with Mountain Lion -- I started seeing this message whenever I insert a DVD movie into my MacBook Pro:
Allow the media "(name)" to play?
Parental Control is on. To play this media, you will be asked to enter an administrator name and password.
    [Always Allow] [Cancel] [Play Once]
This happens with every DVD, either commercial discs rented from Netflix or purchased, or discs of my own material created in iDVD.
I'm the only user of this computer, so I have no need for, and have never configured, Parental Controls. When I go to the Parental Controls control panel, there doesn't seem to be any settings to turn off. The only user listed there is Guest User (see screen shot). I'm logged in as an administrator.
I don't see any relevant settings in DVD Player, or in the CDs & DVDs control panel. Can anyone guess why this functionality started, and more importantly how I can turn it off?

    1) how can I keep this from happening?
    2) is there a preferences file somewhere that I can save and then just upload from time to time?
    Thanks,
    Craig
I suspect your students are smarter than you think they are
Be sure nobody knows the admin password. Change it to be sure and make sure nobody is looking.
Be sure nobody has a Leopard DVD handy.
Be sure all users are non-admin types.
Check all 3rd party apps installed on the machines.
You can also check the console logs on the machines to see how and when the change occurred.

  • Apps launching on their own

Today while using Net News Wire, the app crashed, and the Scrabble app launched all by itself. Has anyone else experienced this type of behavior? I can see an app crashing from time to time, but to have another one launch on its own is very weird.

I think following the software troubleshooting path would allow you to eliminate software as a problem.  If you eliminate that, then it would have to be some hardware issue. Not sure if your phone is still under warranty, but if you can demonstrate that you've done all of the software troubleshooting you can, and you are still under warranty, you could get a replacement phone at the Genius bar.

  • Apps closing on their own

For about a week now my iPhone 3GS will close apps while I'm using them. It happens to facebook and angry birds more than anything else. I have removed several apps but nothing is helping. I have 1.5GB free. My software is updated. Can't think of anything else to do.

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

  • 2 computers, 5 family members with their own iTunes accounts. How do we share purchased iTunes and downloaded CDs with homeshare? (I can't get my old iPod music to all go onto my iPad)

    I have 2 computers - Windows Based
My husband, myself and the kids all have our own "accounts" on the home computer. This was done to limit certain access when the kids were younger.
The laptop is pretty much mine. I use both computers for my iTunes music.
Everyone has their own iTunes account for their music and games. I have been able to get music purchased by my other family members on my iPod in the past if I logged in the home computer under their IDs and attached my iPod. Or, if a family member downloaded a CD, I could get that music thes same way without having to download the CD again under my own login ID. However, I now have an iPad, and I can't transfer music from the iPod to the iPad - specifically that which was downloaded from CDs - not iTunes. And I couldn't get it to go from my iPod to my laptop, although both are authorized computers in the Home Sharing.
It doesn't seem like the Home Sharing works with the different computer login IDs. The iTunes is universally available regardless of who is logged in, but the libraries vary based on who's user name you are under. I have strugged with importing from one User ID to another, which led me to simply log in under a different family member to get the desired music. There has got to be an easier answer and I'm just not figuring it out.
I've read the support answers, I've read many of the other responses here as well to those with similiar questions, but I am still struggling.
    Any suggestions?

If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. • Why start some daemon as their own users (e.g. mpd, transmission)

In the arch wiki it is shown how to set up this daemons so that they start as their own users,a user for each daemon. Why not just use you user, the same as with normal commands ? Is it because of security ?

It is because of security, indeed. Every process should run with the exact set of permissions it needs to fulfill its task. But in the cases of MPD and transmission, it is mostly because Linux is designed as a multi-user system. In an optimal setting, there should only be one MPD and one torrent client running on a single system, so running the daemons as on their own users makes a lot of sense, because those daemons have interfaces, that can be fine-tuned to allow or block certain users and sources.
As a rule of thumb, if a daemon does not require either root access (eg. is not a system process) or read/write access to user's folders in /home (like the dropbox "daemon" would), them it is wise to run it as its own user. It's both, more secure and easier to maintain.

  • Shuffled music always starts at the beginning

iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.6 (but the problem was there with iOS 6, too).
When I shuffle a playlist or all songs to listen to through Bluetooth, all works well as long as I keep listening.
If I stop listening, do other stuff with my phone, and then start listening again, the shuffled music starts at the top of the playlist again instead of picking up where it left off like it used to.
In other words.... Say I shuffle the music, which gets ordered as follows:
    Song A
    Song B
    Song C
    Song D
    Song E
    Song F
    etc.
It starts at playing Song A. Now, let's say I stop playing music in the middle of Song C. An hour later, I start the music again.
The old, correct behaviour would be that the Music app starts to play with Song C.
The more recent, annoying behaviour is that the Music app starts again at Song A.
I don't feel like pulling my phone out of my pocket every time I get in the car just to reshuffle the music.
I know I'm not the only person who sees this behaviour, but I have seen no answers for it. How can we correct this?

It appears that iOS 7.1 fixed this.

  • How to set Music to start where left off?

It seems when you start up Music, it always reverts to Radio.  Is there a way to set it to "resume where left off" or set it to another section such as Playlist, Album, etc?
    Thanks!

When first started the Music App starts with the left-most tab active. If you select a different tab Music will stay in that mode until it is terminated. Note that you can reorder the tabs. To do this select More and then select Edit and rearrange the Tabs.

  • Music plays upon ending call when music app not currently being used.

iPhone 5, with iOS 7.0.4. Randomly, when i hang up from a call, the Music app starts playing the song that I was listening to last. However, sometimes it has been a day or more since i was listening to the song. Very Annoying. What is Apples fix for this??

Same thing happens on an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.0.2, but only when using Bluetooth headset. Very irritating.
