Music Art Work

Hi, Itunes just automatically updated itself and it appears that alot of the artwork which i painstakenly scanned in attached to my files though itunes has dissapeard !! Is there anyway i can get this back with out haveing doing it all again, or is this another case of apple knows best and to **** with who our updates effect ?

I found that when I turn the phone horizontal the right at work shows. When I turn it vertical it shows the wrong LP art work

I Can't See My Music List because of the dammed album art work.

It wasn't like this before the 7 update. When I play music on my iPhone 4, I see the list initially, then all of a sudden the album art work hi jacks the entire screen. I can fin no way to get back to music list. Why does Apple keep going backwards on this stuff. Quit re-inventing things when they work fine. I went in settings and checked "Show only music downloaded to this device" but it didn't change anything.
Can someone help me with ths rediculous problem?

Itunes hangs after just listening to music with Album Art work turned on.

I have been having issues with iTunes hanging and I have to open up task manager and kill the process. It doesn't Hang my system, only iTunes. I have noticed that the itune's process is taking up about 1.4 GB of memory and that each time it hangs it is around that amount. I have almost 38,000 Songs in my iTunes folder and I have album Art work for all of them. Is there some limitation on the amount of Art work? If I turn off the Art work it will run all day long with no problem.

Not necessarily. I was asking that cause iTunes match will upload album artwork for the first track of a CD and it wont display until after you play the track you want artwork to display for. As far as it not displaying when being synced via iTunes, I am sorry but I don't have any idea.

How to properly embed album art work into TV/Films itunes: home sharing lag

My setup is a simple apple home sharing network.
I have a mac mini running OS X 10.6.8 and itunes 11.0.4(4) it hosts a lot of music, DVD's that have been re-encoded and paid for content from itunes.
The mac mini is conntected to the network over a very good gigbit lan and has 4 apple TV3 (latest gen) hanging off the network, and multiple PC/Mac/ipod/ipad devices hanging off the network.
I connect to the itunes home sharing service with the apple TV service using the "remote" application on the ipad.
When I select Music/Albums TV Shows or Films from the menu of the itunes library the album art work loads (quickly) over the grey boxes as I scroll down. However this takes a few seconds for each "scroll" I do on the ipad (it has thousands of items in there).
The exception to the rule is any paid content, when I open Music/TV/Films menu on the ipad the paid content (especially for TV and Films) the artwork is already there, and doesn't have to load it.
How is the artwork for paid content contained differently than the artwork for content I've manually put into the itunes library.
If I look at the itunes library locally on the machine hosting the itunes data, the artwork is there straightaway, no loading, pull up the items info with "get info" and click on art work, the artwork is there, and I can see no different in the art work settings for paid content or for content I've manually updated/loaded an image for.
So why/how does the paid for content have artwork on the ipad the exact second I open it over the network, yet the non-paid for content take a few seconds per screen to load it.
Is there something different in how the art work is embeeded, or is it a caching setting ? whats the difference.

Dang You Autocorrect.
You don't saw what size and resolution the embedded artwork is. This could be part of the issue. Artwork on movies you purchase from the iTunes Store is 667x1000 at 72 DPI so if yours is larger than this is could be causing the delay.

I have an iPhone 4 on IOS5. I signed up for itunes match. After everything uploaded to the cloud, my songs are messed up. I'll select a song and the title will show with the right art work but a different song will start playing. Anyone have a solution?

I have found that scrolling through the album list (past albums without art) triggers the progress wheel next to the wifi symbol. You can scroll quickly through the whole collection and then wait! Artwork will appear gradually...
However, repeat visits to the Music App might initially show no artwork again, but it might spontaneously appear more quickly this time. The bad news is that the whole Music App is now sluggish as ****...

Unable to drag and drop album cover art work in Itunes 10 64-bit

I just recently installed Itunes 10 64-bit version and transfered all of my music. I wanted to add some art work to some game tracks but I can no longer drag and drop.

Make sure your windows userid has full control and ownership over the entire music folder. Check the box to apply this to subcontainers (aka subfolders)

Missing album art work in cover flow mode

why would i have a missing album in cover flow mode on my ipod classic, but be able to see the same album in itune on my computer. it does shows up under artist catagory, just not cover flow. i have deleted the art work and re copied it, re synced and restarted and still no album cover. also, not marked as a compliaction either. thoughts?

iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exists in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.

To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, find the album in the main music folder, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the album, use CTRL-I or Command-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.

Stop Automatic Art Work Downloading

When I upgraded to 7, iTunes asked if I wasnted it to automatically download art work for my songs to which I said yes. I thought it was only going to be a one time thing...but it wasn't. Everytime I imported a new song it rescans all of my music files (7000+ files to be exact) and wastes some of my processing power doing it.
I can't find an option to tell it not to do it anymore. So far I've been just hitting the stop button everytime it starts to look for art work. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but that didn't work becaue the options it asked me weren't present anymore almost like my computer just automatically remembered what I wanted.
How do I get it to stop?
**Note: I don't have an iTunes Store account.**

Sounds like that is the scanning for gapless playback, not attempting to download album artwork. You have to have a iTunes Store account in order to download album artwork.
Once it has completed through completely, without being stopped, it should not scan on subsequent launches of iTunes.

Art Work Not Modifiable

I am using iTunes 10. I have been importing music into iTunes for some time. However, recently I have not been able to add art work to the music; I continue to get the statement "Art work not modifiable" in the art work box. As mentioned, this has just recently happened but continues to be such; just bought new CDs today and imported less than 30 minutes ago. Why is this happening and can i change it?

Select the tune from the iTunes window - Shift-CMD-R (Reveal in Finder) will take you to the file in the Finder - select the file in the Finder and CMD-I (Get Info).
Also at the bottom of the Get Info window is 'Sharing and Permissions' - check to see if you have the correct level of access to make changes to the file.

How to correct album art work on iPhone 4

On my iPhone 4 music app. I have the wrong album art work on the wrong songs

OK Gang... Since I didn't get a resolution here I decided to forego the 30 minute hold time and called Apple support. (I was just tired of seeing Prince's face on my James Taylor album!).
Here is how to resolve this issue:
In iTunes, select your phone and choose the 'Music' tab
Unselect 'Sync music' then click 'Apply' (basically sync again)
All your music should be removed from your iPhone at this point
Now select the 'Sync music' option again and sync again

Art Work on Ipad

Some of my art work is not getting put on my ipad...I have all the artwork in itunes...and it show up on my ipod, iphone...

Well, I am seeing this problem with music purchased from the iTunes store. I purchase an album, download it to my MacBook Pro and all is well. I 'Update iTunes Match' and the album appears in iCloud, but without album art.
I am also noticing that many of my newly ripped CDs are exhibiting the same problem. Album art on the MacBook Pro, but no art on iCloud.
Hopefully this is something that gets fixed, soon. Very frustrating...

Art-work Problems

I have downloaded 20 Music Tracks with all the Art work from a legit Website.
When Inport the Tracks into I-TUNES, The art work doesn’t show up in I-TUNES
I always downloaded music, with the art work and the art work, all ways shows up in I tunes,
But this time the art work has not been transferred to I-TUNES
I have never had a problem before, is there a reason why the Art work has not transferred over, even though its apart of the Track

If your iPod is set to update automatically then try this:
1. Connect your iPod
2. Disable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes.
4. Re-enable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
5. Syncronise the iPod again.

Art work for my podcast didn't upload to iTMS

I used GB and iWeb's podcast template to produce and post my first podcast. Everything went okay, except that the artwork did not load. Instead of the art work that I designed, a portion of the background for my iWeb podcast page shows up as the artwork.

I too have the exact same problem. It appears to be an error in the RSS feed generated by iWeb.
I found a link in the XML file for the "background" artwork from the iWeb template I chose to use. I replaced that line of code with location of the artwork I want to appear on iTunes Music Store.

Alas to no avail. Despite repeatedly pinging the Music Store it persists in using the background graphic even though the RSS feed no longer contains a link to that file.
All attempts to contact Apple about this have gone unanswered.
