Music Distortion after ripping CDs onto iTunes

This is really frustrating me now.
Just recenlty I purchased a brand new CD and ripped it onto me iTunes but i sounds distorted and generally bad. I don't know why this is happening as its never happened before and i've tried everything all my drivers are updated and I've re-ripped it over and over. On Windows media player though it also sounds distorted and i've tried it on another PC with iTunes and it works fine. I ripped another CD which also sounded terrible and i just deleted it. After a while though it seems as thoughit just "got better" and now it sounds fine, but when i went to rip the CD i orginally deleted, it sounds distorted again. I have no idea in what i did in order to make it better and am desperate to find a solution to this issue

  • Hi,can I burn my own cds onto itunes?

Hi,can I burn my own cds onto itunes? please

You don't "burn" CDs into iTunes.
You can copy, rip or import the music on a CD into your computer, using iTunes. iTunes will then list all the music you have on your computer.
It is possible to create a Playlist in iTunes and burn a copy of the music in that Playlist onto a CD.
So what exactly are you trying to do?

  • I copied a bunch of cds onto iTunes now they disappeared

    Greetings;
After downloading your files from the iTunes U site, you have to open the "iPod" application to play them back. You should see an iTunes U icon.  Your lectures should be available by selecting that icon.

You will need to use third-party software to transfer music from your phone to the iTunes Library. I recommend Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com.

  • I can't import my cds onto itunes

whenever i import my cds onto itunes.... the songs are all messed up and i'm pretty sure that my cds aren't the problem... the time for the songs are all messed up.... for example... one of the song's time would be 798:4354523948595 and i no that that's not the rite time... and whnever i click on the song to listen to it... it just doesn't play ne thing and it skips it and go on the the next song...

I'm not sure how to fix your problem, but you may want to post in the iTunes forum that fits your issue, as you may get more help in there.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
In brief; backup the device, recover what you can from it, download other purchases from the iTunes Store, restore the device, add content, keep a backup of your library in future.

i dumped all of my old cds onto i tunes will itunes match push them to all my devices

    Hi,
iTunes match will scan your iTunes library on your computer to determine what tracks can be matched and what needs to be uploaded. Once the process has completed, you will be able to turn on match on your other devices and be able to stream or download your music.

  • How to rip CDs into iTunes from several machines, simultaneously

I have about 300 CDs that I'm re-ripping into my library for two reasons (1) I had a hard drive failure that corrupted / lost some of the files and (2) I'm shifting from MP3 to Apple Lossless format.
Setup: MacMini is linked to entertainment center for iTunes playback but I ahve 2 other Macbooks on network. iTunes library is on an external hardrive connected to mini via firewire --accessible to macbooks via network.
Issue 1: Can I load the iTunes library from the external hard drive on each of the three machines, then have each of the three re-rip CDs simultaneously to overwrite the old files? After the CDs have been re-ripped, I'd just tell iTunes on the MacMini rebuild the library so that it knew the actual file types for the CDs imported by the macbooks.
Issue 2: I want to overwrite existing songs (1) to avoid duplicate files and (2) I've misplaced / stored a couple hundred other CD's, so I can't just erase the old library, rip from three machines, then import into the mini b/c that would be a large loss of CDs.
My plan would as follows, but I'm not certain if it will work or if it's the best way:
    1. Erase the iTunes library (not the files) on all three machines for a clean start.
    2. On Each machine, Preferences -> Advanced -> General: Set the iTunes music folder to the external drive where the current music files are located. Also set each computer to "Keep Music Folder Organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder..."
    3. on Each machine, select File -> Add to Libary: to add all of the current music files.
    4. Start simultaneously shoving my CDs into the three machines and re-importing using lossless / telling it to overwrite existing files when prompted.
    5. When done re-importing the CDs, erase the macbook libraries (I don't listen to music on them), tell the mac mini to erase it's library, then re-add all the newly ripped files and the preexisting/not-overwritten files to the library to rebuild it, so that the mini becomes aware of the files that were added / rewritten by the other two machines.
While none of the three machines would be ripping the same CD or trying to overwrite the same music files at the same time, my concern is that all three machines would run into problems if trying to update / write to the same iTunes non-music file, for example the iTunes Libarary Database file of the iTunes Library.xml file on the external drive.
    Comments? Suggestions? Experiences?
    Thanks,
    mjc

Well, yeah, this wold work, in 1/3 the time. If you have changed ANYTHING about a song title, album title or artist, iTunes will not see it as a duplicate.
Issue 2: I want to overwrite existing songs (1) to avoid duplicate files and (2) I've misplaced / stored a couple hundred other CD's, so I can't just erase the old library, rip from three machines, then import into the mini b/c that would be a large loss of CDs.
So, some of the MP3's won't be AAC's in the end?
My plan would as follows, but I'm not certain if it will work or if it's the best way:
    1. Erase the iTunes library (not the files) on all three machines for a clean start.
Right Click/Duplicate first, just in case. OR (better method) hold the Option key while opening iTunes and choose create new library.

On the three machines, hold the Option Key while opening iTunes and choose the original library, then delete the new library file you created for this adventure. Then do the same to create a new library on the MacMini. If you have created playlists, first export each playlist as a .xml file and import it when finished.
While none of the three machines would be ripping the same CD or trying to overwrite the same music files at the same time, my concern is that all three machines would run into problems if trying to update / write to the same iTunes non-music file, for example the iTunes Libarary Database file of the iTunes Library.xml file on the external drive.
They will each be creating their own unique library database, missing what the other two machines are adding to the iTunes Music Folder. They will not be re-writing the .xml file on the external hard drive. Each computer will have it's own .xml file on it's hard drive.

  • Can't import cds onto itunes without computer crashing/shutting down

hi, everytime i try burn cd's onto itunes my computer either freezes or appears to shut itself down but seems to be still running, i had a similar problem when playing computer games, after a while the whole system would appear to shut down but would be still running (the screens black and nothing can be done until i literally turn it off at the plug then reboot). I think its the converting into "AAC" files it has problems with but im not sure. But if anyone can help me with this problem itd be great, cheers. (p.s. here are my computer specs.)

alright, ive tried importing songs that ive ripped from cds through media player onto itunes but again it crashes, i noticed when i ran the diagnostic it said "If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.

If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard" so do you think this may have something to do with it?

  • Adding Ripped CDs via iTunes 10.5 on iPhone 4 iOS5 not working

Why can I no longer add my music from my ripped CD's to my iPhone's iPod player since upgrading to iTunes 10.5 and iOS5??  Is this a bug or is Apple now not going to allow people to add ripped music from CDs or downloads from the internet outside of iTunes unless you subscribe to their iCloud & Match service and their CD music into iTunes ver??
Anyone have any insight on this??
1st to clarify, I have never synced automatically my music to my iPhone.  I always manually manage my music & thus the "manually manage music & videos" section on iTunes is always enabled.
Adding purchased iTunes music works fine, but when I add anything I've ripped from the 1,200 CD's I own or songs I've gotten from Amazon.com or other places, they show up in iTunes under the music section of my device and even on my device, but they're all greyed out and unplayable, with a little "sync" symbol to the left of the song info.  See pic below:

  • HT4914 Can I put all my songs I've downloaded into my iTunes from CDs onto iTunes Match?

I am thinking about using the iTunes Match but I don't understand if I can upload all of my music from my of to the iTunes Match. I inadvertently have deleted all of my music trying to transfer from my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2 so after reloading all of my CDs I'm looking at this option of using the cloud. Is it easy to put music to all of your iOS devices? Will it put all of your songs on all of your devices?
    Thanks, raven29

    Yes
Put all the music on one computer, make sure it is authorized for all accounts, sync.

  • HELP! can't reload music library after having to reload itunes.

Help! My Dell had to be serviced for 'slowness' problems. We backed up my huge song list to a external hard drive. I made the mistake of reloading itunes before I reloaded my library. Upon the first itunes download, it automatically searched my entire computer and found 3 (YES 3!)songs to go into my library (2 came free with the itunes download and one was in a documents file). When I tried to 'import' my song list, it would only import songs 1 by 1!!!!! Yikes! I have 200+ albums and hundreds of other individual songs. I can't spend 10 days re-importing each song.
I tried removing iTunes tonight. I thought if I re-downloaded the program AFTER my music files were loaded, that it would pick them up and add them back to the music library(like it did the first download). However, no such luck. It won't recognize my song list. Please help me re-load my music files to itunes. Greatly appreciated!
    Thanks! Billy

Chris, I tried it a different way....to actually drag the music files and folders into the itunes (program screen), not just into it's music folders. Thanks because it's working.

  • Sync my iPhone with my PC. My lapto is no longer working and I would like to know if I sync my iPhone with my PC will my music on my phone go onto iTunes on my PC?

Will my iTunes transfer my music from my iPhone to my iTunes on my PC as this is not where I have used in the past!? I need to put the music on iTunes on the PC to Sync my iPod.

If at all possible, copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527).  Otherwise, you will lose and music that was not purchased from the iTune store unless you use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer it to your new computer.  See this article for how to move to a new computer with minimal or no data loss: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

I've been always burning cds on iTunes. Lately, I burned about 3 cds and everytime I play them, every track seems to skip. Is there a solution for this? I'm not sure if it's the burner or something else. Please help!

Burning CDs, especially with iTunes, has always been finicky.
For CDs that have playback problems, the first thing to try is to burn again at a very low speed, e.g. 2x.  This selection is made as the "Preferred Speed" in the Burn Disc dialog.
That often solves it, but if not, the next thing to try is a different brand of CD-R blank.  (I assume you already know that CD-RWs will not give good results, so it has to be a CD-R.) I eventually gave up on every brand of CD-R blank except Verbatim, but it will depend on your burner.
If there are still problems, try burning a CD on the same computer with a non-iTunes program, such as Toast.  If there is a problem with your burner, you will see it.
