Music does not copy to iPhone

Over the last few weeks, I have notices that I have to sync my phone 3 or 4 times to get my music synced. It goes through the whole process on itunes (Step 1 of 5, step 2 of 5, etc...) and says that the sync is complete. When I go to my music on my phone, however, there is nothing there. It is quite annoying because I can no longer sync and run out the door when it is done. Rather, I have to sync, then check my phone to see if it worked, and then sync it again and again until it finally syncs.  It is real annoying, and I would love to know if there is anything I can do to fix this problem.
THanks

A screen shot of my computer while it is syncing the second time. I went and did the dishes while it "sync'd" the first time. I knew I had to check my phone to see if anything synced. It did not, and iTunes did not tell me that there were any problems with the sync. This led me to believe that it may have been successful. I looked at my phone and lo and behold, the phone did not sync.I took a screen shot on my phone of the "deleted" playlists (desmond Dekker and Dick's Picks) that are still on my phone after the first sync. I also have a screenshot of my iTunes that shows the files already unchecked, yet I am in the process of syncing the second time.
This is real annoying. please fix this problem.

my photo stream on my iPhone does not copy to my ipad

Make sure they are signed into the same iCloud account with my photo stream enabled.  If you are only missing older photos in your iPad's photo stream, it may be because when you first enble it you only get photos from the last 30 days.  If you enabled photo stream on your iPad later than you did on your phone, you may have older photo stream photos on your phone that did not stream to your iPad.

    Hiya!
It depends on what kind of digital copy you have.  This article goes ino details regarding the two types, and depending on the type you have, you may or may not need the DVD to redeem the code.

iPad syncing stays on step 5 of 5 “waiting for items to copy” but does not copy anything...  should I restore the iPad?

Hey, I was having the same problem,, i just got mine to work. Take off everything but your apps (meaning take off pictures, music, ringtones, movies, tv shows, etc just leave on the apps) Then go up to the top and go to Store and turn off Genius. Restore your iPhone (It'll ask you to back up, click yes.) Restore from back up, Let your apps come back then when those are done add each category one by one. (i.e. click Photos -> Sync Photos and let them finish, then click something else like music) Hope this helps!

Hello. My ipod wont sync properly, fails after about 10 albums with unknown error -53, and album cover art does not copy (fine in itunes). Have restored etc. Have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes software etc.
Have tried apple support helpline; send ipod off twice, just received replacement new/refurbished ipod today (as on 2nd attempt apple technicians found a problem they called "specific performance symptoms" with the old one).
New replacement one has the same problem as old one!
Has anyone seen this problem or had any joy getting a refund?... Any help much appreciated, thanks.

    Select the iPod in iTunes.
    Click the Music tab.
Are you selecting Sync all playlists?
Or if you are choosing Selected p[laylist, mkae sure all the playlists you want to sync are checked.

You get Mac OS X 10.5 on DVD if you have a PowerPC G4 or G5 Mac, or Mac OS X 10.6 on DVD if you have an Intel Mac. If you're using a G3 Mac, you need a newer computer.

  • Music does not appear in iTunes after consolidation and xfer to E drive

I followed the instructions listed on the web site for xfer of the music to an external hard drive. After I did the consolidate portion, the music did not show/appear in the e drive folder created for the music. The music does not show in iTunes now. I have not deleted anything since I can't see music in the e drive folder.
I am currently copying the music from the older folder to the newer folder to see if this helps.
Where does the consolidated music go?
Can it be shown in iTunes at all now that it has been consolidated?
Will pod sync now since music does not appear in iTunes?
Any help or information would really be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Rather than move individual files you might want to move the whole collection:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • HT1199 I have a desktop mac operating on Mac OSx 10.4.11 and the system does not recognize my iphone and I am unable to upgrade to the newest itunes version. What do I need to do?

I have a desktop mac operating on Mac OSx 10.4.11 and the system does not recognize my iphone and I am unable to upgrade to the newest itunes version. What do I need to do?

    Backup first
It is always best to have a full bootable backup before you upgrade. If you fail to do this you will be unable to return to this OS if you decide you don't like the new OS. Also there is a slight chance that an install could lose everything on the Mac. The backup must be to an external hard disk. Preferably use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup of the whole disk.
    Erase before the install
Once you have a bootable backup on an external disk it is best to erase the internal disk with the new installer DVD before you install.
    During the install
Preferably do not import any data or preferences from earlier OSs during the install process as this can reintroduce bugs.
    OS numbers and names
    OS X 10.4.x - Tiger
    OS X 10.5.x - Leopard
    OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard
    OS X 10.7.x - Lion
    OS X 10.8.x - Mountain Lion
    More about Macs
The Apple History site has specifications for every Mac ever produced: http://www.apple-history.com/
    Upgrade to Leopard
Those wishing to upgrade to Leopard should be aware that install disks can be expensive unless you contact Apple. Details: http://lowendmac.com/deals/best-os-x-leopard-prices.html Standard Leopard installers impose several hardware limitations including speed and RAM size but all these restrictions can be overcome. Google for details. Leopard works well at 500 MHz with 1 GB of RAM and many happy users have less than this.
    Upgrade beyond Leopard
OSs beyond OS X 10.5.8 require an Intel processor. If in doubt check this: Click the apple at the top left of your screen and select 'About this Mac'. This will give you your OS number. Then click 'More Info' to see which processor you have. If it says PowerPC you cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard and above. If you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that. You can buy Snow Leopard here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
    Upgrade beyond Snow Leopard
Information about upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A
    Important
Check that your Mac complies with any requirements. If you are not in the US you should use the Change Country link at the bottom of Apple pages.

  • Why does not Apple allows iPhone to be sync by two different computers ?

I have a pc at home and one in office. But I can only sync it with my home pc. Why does not apple allow iPhones to be sync by atleats two pcs as having different pc for work and home is very general.

It is possible to sync from multiple libraries manually on other devices (iPads & iPods) so blanket statements that 'it's DRM' don't really make sense to me.
If it is the only reason why can't non DRM'd content be copied?
Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support
See step 6, iPods & iPads have fewer restrictions compared to iPhones.
Perhaps we would have a better idea if it wasn't all wrapped up in thousands of words spread between the multiple terms & conditions agreements.

  • 11.0.5.5 64-bit on Win 8:  music does not play after update

Recently prompted to update itunes software to 11.0.5.5 64-bit (Win 8).  Did so and now music does not play.  Music library is correct but when I select a song and then push the "play" triangle itunes says it is playing but tracker does not move off of "0:00".  Any ideas?

The issue is probably not the machine you purchased the music on.  The issue is very likely the Apple ID you used to purchase the music.
It sounds like the music being skipped on your iPhone 5 was purchased with some Apple ID that is not currently authorized in the iTunes (on your computer) that you sync to.  So you should go to that computer, open iTunes, do Store > Authorize This Computer from iTunes' menu, enter that Apple ID and password, then sync your iPhone 5 to that iTunes.
