Music Does Not Show "Artist" Since ios6

I upgraded to ios6 on both of my iPhones and on my iPad. Since then when I try to play Music, the Artist button shows "No Music" but the Songs andAlbums buttons show the music I have loaded on my iPhones. This is not a problem on my iPad, only on my iPhones 4's.
Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

You can find the Home button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar.
Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar.
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.
You can middle-click that Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

• My purchased music does not show in iTunes on my new mac

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. The iTunes library was transferred over by the Apple store employees, but my purchased music does not show. How can I get my purchased music to show in iTunes? (I previously had a Windows PC). Thank you!

The 'Purchased' music is just a special Playlist. You can create your own and drag the links into the 'Purchased' PL.
Using the command CMD-J you can add the Purchase date to your list view - sort by date - drag the tunes to the 'Purchased' PL.

• Purchased music does not show in itunes. Only the artists

I purchased a couple albums on my iPhone. It shows the artist in the iTunes store and that there are 22 items, but it does not show the music for me to download it to my library.

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to redownload the albums via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your PC's iTunes, or on the current version of iTunes you can access the Purchased section by clicking on your name towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then Purchased on the popup
If they show there then click on the cloud icons on them to download them

• Ipod music does not show in Itunes

Hello! I am new to the forum and was hoping someone could provide some advise please. I previously used Windows with my Ipod - they were synced. I have since purchased a Macbook Pro. My previous Itunes playlist (windows) is on the Ipod, but no longer on my current Itunes (macbook). I want to play music from my Ipod on my Mac and possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac. I have ticked 'manually manage', when I plug in the Ipod, however, it does not show any music Ipod content on Itunes. Am I missing something basic? Thank you so much.

Hi...
possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac.
First, if you have not done so, launch iTunes on your Mac. From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now connect the iPod.
Now from the menu bar again click File > Transfer Purchases from ...
For "non" iTunes purchases you may need to use a third party utility.

• Some music does not show up on ipod in itunes, but it is there...used twoPC

Hi, my main computer is a laptop. This is the one that is updated continually and has the latest software (XP/itunes)...I have another computer, it is the big one, with all the music on it for the most part, the laptop has the new stuff...anyway, getting ready for a trip and I had the bright idea (I say that sarcastically) to connect it to the outdated machine (it works fine) and use itunes to add in other music that my laptop does not have (due to a small hard drive 60 gigs only, vs 700 gigs on the big guy)...anyway, once I turn on the ipod, the music is not there in itunes, if I connect the ipod to the laptop the music is not there too, if I do a windows search on the ipod for the creation date, or the name of the group (in this case tainted love by soft cell) it is there, it is just not in the itunes listing/database/library. I suspect being that the two different versions of itunes are different, they do not work together. I should have thought of that before, but it is too late now....So what can I do, can I copy off all the music manually onto a portable drive, delete all the songs on the ipod manually, then reimport them to have the missing songs show up? Will this also copy off the album art? Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?
I want to of course make this as easy as possible for myself, without issues to the ipod....I tried playing the song found via windows and it did play it on the laptop, but it did not come up on the ipod it came up in the regular library, and when I tried to copy it to the ipod it said there was a corrupt library or something along those lines...the pod works fine...
I have a 60 gig color video pod....this is my second one, and I have a 40 gig 3rd generation as well (not having problems)
Thank you for any help...

try just pushing play instead of clicking the artist name and then choosing the song thats not there. With mine i would push play under coldplay and it would play 1 of 10 but if i clicked coldplay and tryed choosing the song i wanted to play there would only be 6 songs there. I think the problem is because not all my songs have an album name. so those songs that are blank under album don't show up. I really don't know what the real problem is here but i think thats how to fix it.

• Music app not showing Artists

I'm using a first generation iPad with ios 5. I'm having trouble displaying the artist names in the Music app. I already checked all the tags and made sure that the albums are not compilations. I have 4 albums on my iPad and only one of them shows the Artist name. I have no idea why the other albums are not showing the Artist. Please let me know how I can fix this. Thanks.

I have this exact same issue, i have emailed apple and have been told they have no idea and i should phone thier support team at my expence. Not really impressed as i am paying for the match service so i should at least get free support.

• Library- Music does not show all songs, some are in playlists?

I just discovered (the hard way) that my Music 'directory' (the first item under Library on the left pane) is not showing all the songs I have installed. I have several playlists that list and play songs not in the main library.
How do I fix this? Is it possible to preserve all my playlists in the process?
iTunes 8.2

I think I have it resolved although I am not 100% confident of that. All I did was drag them back in to iTunes from the iTunes folder and skip the dupes.
I am missing a bunch of songs, and a quick check of my hard drive does not turn them up either. This is stuff I would not have deleted. Really mysterious. Unnerving too.

• Music files still on Ipod... But Music does not show up

Here's my problem:
I plugged my Ipod (30gb 5g) into the computer the other day and put a few songs on it with iTunes. After I disconnected it, I went into my Music menu on the actual Ipod, and there was no music showing! All my Playlists, Music, and Video were gone. (But not any other information, photos, ect.)
Anyway, I plugged the iPod back in to the comp and opened it up in My Computer. The Music files and everything are still in the Ipod_Control folder. All the space is still taken up on the iPod by the music files, but Itunes doesn't seem to read it. When I plug the iPod in, iTunes tells me that it can't read the information from my ipod, and to Restore it to Factory Settings. Now, as I don't have all of my 1000 songs in iTunes anymore (actually very little of them, my comp only has 30 gigs) I really don't want to do that.
I'm figuring this has something to do with the itunes database file... but it's size is about 2 mb, which i think is about normal for a music library my size.
So I'm very confused. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read that. Even greater thanks to anyone who might be able to help.

I had this problem some time ago...it's easy to sort out just as long as your itunes content matches that of your ipod. You need to follow this:
The so-called 5-R's will cure 90% of iPod users problems. They're really easy to do so give them a try and if they fail to solve your issue post back in this forum - there are many willing helpers who I'm sure will be able to offer further assistance. Click this LINK.

Once you've completed this just resync your ipood with itunes.

• Uploaded Music does not show

Please can anyone help.
I have used the full 25000 track limit on my iTunes match, and I had no problems playing this on any of my devices. I have been adding more tracks onto my libary on my iMac, whenever I turn on iTunes match it gathers the info about my libary and tries to sync. I get
NEW SONGS CAN NOT BE UPLOADED,
iCloud can contain up to 25000 songs not purchased from the iTunes Store. Recent additions to this computer exceed that limit, and will not be uploaded. message saying you have reached youre 25000 song limit and no more will be uploaded,
I know this and that is fine, the problem is that I cant see the other 25000 tracks that I have uploaded only the tracks that are on my iMac. Again if I go to my iPhone or iPad and search through my music it is there, it is just not on my iMac. I have tried signing out and back in again, turning off and on iTunes match a number of times but still nothing
I hope that this makes sense to someone.
Thank you for your time.

Hi,
You will need to delete some of the tracks. You will need to get the non iTunes total to below 25k.
I have a large itunes library and have all my music in the library but with less than 25K in match. I have a large number of tracks with iCloud status shown as "removed".
I achieved this by creating a second blank library - I signed into match and was able to view all tracks in iTunes Match. I then deleted some tracks from this library - effectively deleting tracks in the cloud.
When I went back into my original library, those tracks were shown as "removed". iTunes Match will now ignore those tracks. You can now add new tracks provided you kept matched and uploaded less than 25k.
This is a long process but eventually you can have all tracks in your library but with only selected tracks in the cloud.
