Music Doesnt work on I touch

Hi,
I'm using an i touch 8gb. When i tried to sync it with my laptop , it syncs n everythin is ok. but when after tat i try to play music from the i touch it doesnt play. when i click a song it goes into the sing n after 5 secs it comes back to the all songs list. any idea wat i could do to fix this problem?
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I also am having the same problem. At first I thought it was because the battery ran down. I recharged it and then the Ipod wouldn't start. I connected it to my MAC and it started. I transfered an audiobook to it. Then I got the same problem. The file would not play and after a second it returned to the music list screen. I inquired support on the not starting issue. Got the info to hold the on button and the start button at the same time. Music still did the same thing. Then I did a full restore on my MAC after updating ITunes. Still the same thing. Today I did another full restore after updating Itunes on my PC. I loaded one song and still have the same problem.
I tried the suggested solution of connecting to ITunes and playing a song. Then tried the Ipod music with no good results.
I know that Apple does not routinely answer these technical problems on this forum. However there seems to be enough people who either read or answered this thread for them to answer this problem. Tomorrow I will take my Ipod into the local Apple store. If they have a solution I will post it here.

Not sure if this will work, but you could try the app My Contacts Backup.  This will back up your contacts as an email attachement.  Send the email to yourself.  Then turn off contacts syncing (to erase the contacts from your phone), open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts to your phone.  You will still have to go through them and remove the duplicates but at least they should not be duplicated again.  (There is an app called
Remove Duplicate Contacts and Events that claims to be able to find and remove duplicates but you'll have to read the reviews in the app store to decide if you want to try it.)

upgraded to IOS5, now music not working right. displayed song not playing, plays 4,5 songs and stops although it appears that it is playing. Cycled pwr, didn't work. tried resyncing, same thing.Help?

I have an iPhone 4 and ever since I upgraded to iOS5 i've got the same problem. Apple need to release a patch as there's no way of fixing this unless we downgrade our phones back to iOS4 which would just suck!
I often shut the music app down and start again but even then the artwork doesn't match the song playing and will only play a few songs. It's frustrating when you're driving or going for a run, having to pull over or stop and sort it out.
We'll have to wait for Apple to bring out a patch unfortunately.

Before you restore the iPod from the backup that Dave had you make yu have to transfer stuff from the iPod to the computer since the backup does not contain the apps themselfes, music, synced phots and some other stuff.  To see what a backup contains see:

    To transfer iTunes purchases:

    - For other stuff you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

i have a 4th gen ipodtouch and the screen doesnt work to touch only voice???help

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Ipod touch 4g, music isnt working through headphones

This problem just recently started happening. I would plug my headphones into my ipod touch, and the music plays outloud. I have tried many things, and it still doesnt work. I have tried:
    ~restoring
    ~restarting
    ~new headphones
~plugging headphones into old ipod (they work)
and they still dont seem to work.. Would anyone know what might be wrong?

Likely a problem with the headphone jack. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare. You 4g iPod is still in warranty.

  • Why does my purchased music not work after i restored my ipod touch

i restored my 4g ipod touch but after i did all the music i purchased on itunes doesnt work, it just skips that song, why is this happening?

If the music play OK in iTunes on your computer
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time. Again, say "yes."

    please help
    =)

    Try "restoring" your Touch.
    Restoring iPod touch
Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.
    Restore iPod touch:
1 Connect iPod touch to your computer. 2 In iTunes, select iPod touch in the Devices list, then click Summary at the top of
    the screen.
3 Click “Check for Update.” iTunes tells you if there’s a newer version of the iPod touch software available.
4 Click Restore. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process. When restoring, it is recommended that you back up iPod touch when prompted.
When the iPod touch software has been restored, you can either set it up as a new iPod touch, or restore your music, videos, app data, and other content from a backup.

The touch screen is not working when I am in the Music app of my iPod Touch.  How do I get it to begin working?  It just stopped today.
Does anyone know what I can do?  I am unable to switch screens, and I can not see the track that is playing.  The only was I can switch between songs is to use the controls on my headphones.

Try the stamdard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

At certain points (and for hours) I get the oh snap page on chrome, safari doesnt work, macbook wont let me create any files or for example upload music to itunes. I restored my mac so im sure its not a malware problem. The only thing that solves it is switching off and on , but sometimes I have to do that for 6-7 times before its ok or wait for a few hours. Some help please

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.
