Music Download "Network Error"; Never Received

I purchased several songs from the iTunes Music Store. While the songs were being downloaded, there was a dialog saying a "Network Error" had occurred. The last song of the group was not in Purchased Music or my Shopping Cart. I Checked for Purchases under the Advanced menu, and it says "All purchased music has been downloaded" but the song is not there. When I tried to download it again, I was told I had already purchased the song and would have to buy it again if I still wanted to download it.
This has never happened to me before. What's going on and how do I get credit for the second download I had to buy to actually get the song?
This is in iTunes 6.0.1.

  • Cannot completed itunes download (network error)

Hi. I have try download itunes 11.01 for 4 times already but as the download nearly complete (83.1/83.1 mb), suddenly it cannot completed its download and it appears that it has network error. What should i do?

    Okay.
Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Purchase music - Download - Unknown Error

    Hi,
Haveng bought some music using iTunes 7 (XP Pro, Dell Machine, network OK), the application is unable to download the bought music.
All it says is 'An unknown error has occured (-50). Any idea how to resolve this?
Network Diagnostics indicates all is OK.
Using iTunes 6 (Same machine, same config) I did never experience any problem downloading new tunes.

if you're getting that on a song download, see:

  • I tried to download an album twice with no success (there was an error with my card) but it still charged my bank account. will i be refunded since the album was never received?

I tried this morning to download the Macklemore album twice. both times with a card error. However it has posted in my bank account as if the transaction was successful both times. So i was charged twice for the same album of which i never received. Will i be refunded for this "purchase"?

What was the error that you got ?
Does anything show on your account's purchase history ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases (the most recent is above the list).
If you have been charged twice then try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If you haven't then they might just be temporary store holding charges - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702 :
As with many other merchants, the iTunes Store and Mac App Store places an authorization hold on your payment card account for the approximate amount of any purchase you make.
Authorization holds are removed by your financial institution shortly after your purchase clears. The time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.

  • When I try to download the new iTunes it says "MB Network Error".

I had an iPhone prior to this, and I never used iTunes. Since I got a new iPhone, I needed to use iTunes to put my music back on it. Of course, I needed to update. Everytime I try to download the update I get "0.7/66.7 MB Network Error". What does it mean? How do I fix it?

    Perfect, thanks again.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes/QuickTime install. Do they go through properly this time?

If you are in a country where music can be redownloaded then it should show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone, and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes. If it doesn't show there then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes find it ?

  • Network Error in downloading FlashPlayer

In downloading, logo appears & then I receive Network
Error. Option is to Retry or Cancel. I am still on-line.
Might anyone have idea why occurring/how to prevent Network
    Error?
    Appreciate help!

I have previously had this problem and it was a struggle to
recover. It has just returned for no apparent reason. I tried to
follow adobe and other methods to no avail. I then decided to close
ALL programs and applications as recommended by Adobe. This
included Windows Messenger, my security program Bullguard, Norton,
    and even my printer link.
So my advice is follow Adobe's recommended settings for
Active X in internet options, close all running progs and the
installation should be OK. A restart to bring back normal
applications should see the end of the problem.

    Wireless Configurations
Ensure the default (linksys) SSID name is changed. Ensure that different SSID names are used between each WiFi 2.4/5Ghz radios for dual band routers. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighbouring WiFi routers.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try Mixed mode, single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N or Mixed on 5Ghz?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions. Try channel 48 or 149 on 5Ghz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2 Only.
Ensure any devices with WiFi adapter drivers are updated.
Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by?

    Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

  • Trying to download iOS 7.1 and I get a "Network Error" message. How can I fix this?

Hello. Today iOS 7.1 came out and I want to get it.  I currently do not have 2.5GB of free storage on my iPhone 5s so I wanted to use iTunes to download and install iOS 7.1.  The problem is that every time I try to download iOS 7.1 I get a "Network Error" message (screenshot provided).  The alternative I tried to use is downloading the IPSW file directly from the internet but I also get a network error (screenshot provided).  I was able to download anything and everything else I wanted to download today but only get this error when downloading an Apple IPSW file.  I downloaded iOS 7.0.6 less than a week ago through iTunes and didn't have an error but with iOS 7.1 I am having many difficulties.  I disconnected my internet and tried again but still no success.  Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem?  Any input will help!  Thanks so much!
    The error through iTunes
    The error through Google Chrome

Try directly from your device. I had the same problem but it updated when i tried from the device itself.

  • While updating iPad2 from 4.3.3 to 4.3.5 iTunes says 'Network Error' after downloading the software

    Hi
When it connects to my new iPad2 (stock 4.3.3), iTunes says there is an update available (4.3.5). When I hit 'update' and check subsequent boxes, it takes 45-50minutes the download the software update. Just when it says 'processing...', it suddenly stops and a pop-up says "network error: please check if your computer is connected to the internet". I have disabled the virus scan (as heard on some other forum), but the problem persists. There is no error code. This is a fresh installation of iTunes on a Windows Vista device. And I have tried over multiple internet connections including WiFi and Ethernet on 4MBPs connections.

One update: I have tried reinstalling iTunes, changing and changing the connecting cable, for what it was worth. No change. As soon as the download finishes and the update process begins, it says 'Network Error..", Just does not make sense, Apple. Why would you not want your devices to update without tethering them to another PC or Mac? Or if we have to, then why cant we download the update and store it on a local drive if repeated trials are necessary.
So far an extremely painful experience.

You can try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download the iTunes installation
Also try posting in the iTunes forum since it is not an iPod touch problem.

    Hi Mark,
Are you trying to log in via Adobe Reader? If so, what happens when you log in via the web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com?
(We've had reports of this error occurring in the latest version of Reader.)
