  • Zen Micro Music Download Conundrum - Really Frustrated Help Nee

<SPAN class=posttext>Man am I frustrated - really frustrated. Here is my conundrum:
I have a Zen Micro. I want to purchase music online. It is a frikin' maze of problem solving. I download from iTunes, they have some sort of proprietary format that my Zen won't play. Okay - no problem. I go to Yahoo music. You have to pay to subscribe and then download. They are wma anyway. Napster is wma as well. Walmart music is wma too. I would try Rhapsody, but I think you have to pay to subscribe and download as well. It just occurred to me - Sony has a music download site as well? I will check them next. I tried converting the Napster wma into an MP3 but I got a message the Creative software cannot convert the file. Arghhhhh.
So - what is the easy way? Is there a site I can pay and download mp3 music files and transfer them to my Zen Micro? Or is there a freeware converter to convert wma files into mp3 files - that is if the downloaded files do not have a voodoo whammy curse on them that prevents them from being converted.
Might "Play for Sure" fix this? As far as I can tell this is for subcription services, not for single downloads.
    Thanks for any help.

I'm no expert, but I think Etomi would work for you. I've been downloading music from them for a while now, and while I haven't had an MP3 player to try and download the music to, I know that at the very least, music I got from Etomi is on my hard dri've, and I can burn CDs with those songs.
I also know there is some type of way to convert MP3 to WMA and vice versa although I've never done it.
just google "WMA to MP3" and you should find some sites...

  • Windows 98SE Music Download Opti

Now that I have our Zen Micro working, I can't find any music download sites compatible with Windows 98SE. So far, I only have been able to download free music from Amazon (that worked well), but I am looking to download current (or recently-current) hits, so those aren't free, and I can't figure out how to pay-for-downloads on Amazon. Any suggestions?
Many thanks to whomever can help me make this Christmas gift work!

Your best bet is to upgrade to Windows XP. Why are you still using Windows 98SE? Microsoft dropped official suppot for Windows 98SE loooooong ago, and the vast majority of software released in the last few years is Windows XP only.

  • I have the mac laptop ibook g4,and i wanted to know what music downloader can i download to get free music besides having to use itunes?

I have the ibook g4 laptop! what music downloader can i download to get free music?,so i want have to use itunes.

Given the OS X versions last supported by the old PowerPC based G4/G5 computers, there are a few players that work with music sites for OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8. I have not researched these, and many of the web sites that promise a free player or access to free music offer 'adware' laden questionable products, no matter what OS X version a Mac could run.
For just music, the Radio player in the iTunes application can give you several choices of music types, to include fairly recent songs. This will use bandwidth and there likely is no native way in the computer to capture the audio; and without a legal source, a question arises concerning illegal filesharing and the like, which is not a topic friendly to these discussions.
However there some great music channels in the Radio portion of iTunes player that do not require the store to listen to them; these are streamed from servers and you may be able to locate other streaminsg sources and add them to the iTunes Radio player.
There were some shareware or limited use utilities that could record any sounds in your Mac, including beeps, clicks and keyboard sounds. And any noises from web pages, etc. And save them. But some time has passed since I had anything like that. It was like a built-in recorder, and with a Mac microphone, even more so.
However anything software involves the limitations of your computer hardware's upper limit in OS X version. And be wary of sites with several download links that say free or download, since softonic genieo and others can install adware and other hard to remove ailment prone background software in your mac along with their promised product; and their 'uninstaller' also will add hard to remove background stuff in your mac. So does mackeeper and cleanmypc kinds of stuff. Avoid installing these along with hoped-for great promises.
Sorry to not be of much help, however anything that may
contribute to illegal file sharing is a void issue here...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • IWeb 09 and E-Commerce for Music downloads

I'd like to build an iWeb site for music downloads. I create music for commercial use. I'd like to build a site and have the download come from the site or and email link. I would like to use Paypal, Visa, etc. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

In its simplest form you can sign up for a PayPal account and have a single item button for each track or a shopping cart. There are many ECommerce solutions and you'll find some ideas on these pages....

  • Internet Music Downloads into Itunes

Has anyone had any experience using one of the internet download sites such as livewire into itunes?

As long as it's a standard music file format (mp3, WAV, AIFF, etc.) iTunes should recognize and play it.

  • Download sites, advice ple

Having troubleworking out which would be a good site to start downloading MP3 music tracks, it appears that some you pay a one off fee upfront, some its pay as you go, some a monthly fee?!! I cannot afford a lot of money, any advice on which is a good download site that does not cost a fortune, would be fantastic. Many Thanks

Which player do you have as the MuVo and Nano players can't play tracks from subscription sites such as Napster 2 Go. PB

  • Download sites

I resent paying Apples Music Store prices, which is basically a file and is the same price or more expensive than most online CD sites and doesn't include all the packaging that goes with it. So I've been looking for an alternative download site, preferably one where you pay a monthly fee and download as much as you like. I tried Virgin and HMV but they are for PC users only, I tried a few more but had the same problem. I found one, I think it was easymusic which said Mac users could only download from there mp3 library, I wasn't sure if this meant you don't have as much choice of music or not.
Can anyone recommend a Mac and itunes compatible download site please?
    Cheers,
    Rich

All of the monthly fee sites, at least those carrying major-label content, are subscriptions where you never own the music, you just have the right to listen to it as long as you keep paying the monthly fee (stop paying the fee, you no longer can listen to the tracks you've downloaded). So those sites are often more expensive than buying tracks from the iTMS, though of course it depends on how you listen.
All such sites are also Windows only at the present time.
There are some sites such as eMusic which offer music from independent artists in MP3 format, and those may charge a bit less than the iTunes Music Store. But none at this time carry major-label content and aren't likely to; the record companies insist on copy protection, something not currently possible with MP3.
If you buy a lot of full CDs and don't like the online prices, just buy the physical CD. The advantage of the iTMS is when you want to just own a couple of tracks off a CD, not the full disk. Then the iTMS is significantly less expensive.

  • Music downloads to the wrong folder

    Hi.
I'm running Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro and understand that music, movies, TV shows, etc., should download to their respective folders within the 'iTunes Media" folder, which is located here: User --> Music --> iTunes --> iTunes Media.
My problem is that, while movies, TV shows, mobile apps and ringtones download properly, music that I either download from the iTunes Store or rip from CDs download directly into the iTunes Media folder, rather than the iTunes Media --> Music folder.  Also, there is now a new "Compilations" folder in the iTunes Media folder (in addition to the one listed alphabetically in the iTunes Media --> Music folder).
I'd appreciate any ideas about how to resolve this so my music downloads to the proper locations and remains organized.  Thanks for your help.
    Shelly

    Hi,
Was there ever a resolution to this issue, I'm experiencing the same problem?
I'm an iTunes Match user, and when I...
    - Rip a CD
    - Run iTunes Match
    - Delete the imported CD tracks
    - Download the tracks from iTunes
Sometimes they download to the correct album folder in 'Music' however other times they download to the 'Media' folder - it can even be the case that some download to 'Music' and others to 'Media' for the same album.
Seems to have only started recently
    Any ideas?
    Regards

  • Is it possible to add music from the music downloader app to the original music app?

I have a bunch of music downloaded on the music downloader app, and i want to play it on the airmusic app, but the airmusic app only shows music from the original music app, and not the music downloader. Is there any way to move my music from the music downloader app to the original music app so it can be played? Sorry if this is confusing to read

I understand what you are trying to do. It's a somewhat complicated process, but here's how it goes:
-Connect your iPod to iTunes and select it in the sidebar. Select "Apps" along the top and scroll down to File Sharing.
-Click on your music downloading app in the apps column. All the music you've downloaded using your music downloading app is downloaded as documents under the app. Select the music files you want, and use the "Save to..." button to save the files to somewhere on your computer (just temporarily), say, Downloads.
-Open Downloads and drag all the newly saved music files into iTunes.
-When the music files finish copying into iTunes, sync your iPod and you should be ready to go.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Installing a local testing server - download sites

This is my second attempt at setting up a local testing environment. The first time it seemed to go OK, there were just some steps I had to take that just didn't seem right though, which made me wonder if I had the correct installation files, correct set up, etc. At that time I had downloaded and installed the WAMP package.
So, I'm fairly confident it's WAMP that I need. I just want to make sure I have the correct install files.  Could someone point me to the actual download sites for these things - there are so many options available with an internet search, I can never be sure if I'm getting the latest versions. Would someone mind posting the main sites for the following?
    1. Apache
    2. WAMP
    3. MySQL
    4. PHP
I'm also wanting these sites to ensure I'm getting accurate info for set up and usage, and not some half-baked you tube tutorial video or blog posts.
    Thank you community!!

I use Xampp and it doesn't seem to have the Skype issues and it makes setting up your local test environment about as easy as it can be.  Just install it and go. Then make sure you locate any of your local sites in the "htdocs" folder and you are ready to go.  You can also tweak things to use a different folder for your web root, but I'm usually happy to just leave it as is.
