Nokia have release many Music Edition Phones. Non of them stand up to the hype it's suppose to!
Music Edition means it should have 8 Equalizers for better audio qaulity via headsets especially Nokia Music Headset HS-20! why 5 equalizers?

its appauling what hype Nokia give! automatically when it says Music Edition it needs to be a Music Device like da N91 in audio quality. IF not it should be changed! MEL = Music Edition Lite

I'm not an owner of an N-Series Music Edition phones but i'm on the other boat the "XpressMusic".Yeah your point is good.Why offer a Music edition phone with a measly 5-band EQ? Is that the best they can offer? XpressMusic phone with a 5-band EQ? But i clearly understand them,all phones must not have same features to have a fair share market to the other phone models.
Nokia advertised N5300 to handle 2GB am i right? 1500+Tracks on one card with all encoded to AAC+48kbps? Are you kiddin me guys? STOP these,my ears are now bleeding.Now i'm being traumatize of using AAC+ format.MP3 and WMA are for music lovers,achieve Hi-Fi!Not only near-cd quality provided by 32-48kbps AAC+ Files!!It does saves you space and battery but it isn't worth it,i won't sacrifice my ears and especially my enjoyment.

Hi,
usually when you upgrade, it should not delete your files, but if it happens, than you should have a backup.
Unfortunately it is very common, that people don't know, what exactly is in the backup.
The question is, what files exactly you are missing? Own pictures, or taken with the device? Purchased music form the iTunes Store, or own? ....
Documents and files are mostly up to the developer of the app, if they are part of the backup, usually not and you need to transfer them before.
In the backup you will find just pictures from the Camera Rolle folder, everything else you should have on the PC, if you had it on the device.
Same then for music, you can transfer purchased music from the device, but your own works just one direction, from PC to device, from device to PC it doesn't work.
In future I recomand you to be sure how the backup works or use a 3rd party app (iExplorer) where you have a little bit more "freedome" than with iTunes.
Or you maybe just restored from the worng backup

Music Edition Biggest Market Hype Ever!

Nokia have produced so many Music Edition Handsets & there so called Music Edition phones so be taken off the market & customers should be refunded for that. Hope other Music Edition users will agree n post there opionions here so Nokia can actually work on new firmwares to rectify the problems below which i find unacceptable by Nokia.
My Findings:
Wen customers buy (Music Edition) phones they expect to get a phone with audio quality as N91 via headphones not some low quality Audio output via headsets!
Also connecting different headsets or supplied headsets with Music Edition handset the audio output is very low. N91 has 8 Equalizers & these so called Music Edition only have 5 equaliers wat da heck is dat about? Also some users here will say N91 has special audio chip, the only special audio chip is the dam speaker coz the N95 has 8 equalizers so it all firmawre patches that make difference.
Another thing is that N91 4GB edition has no audio visualizations & were as N91 8GB has & what the heck is that about?
What I fink...
In terms Music Edition means you get a phone that is great with any headsets/audio adapter & the sound quality should be like N91 & music edition phones should have the support for Bluetooth Stereo headsets & by the way it dont need no extra hardware it only needs firmware patching...
Also all the Symbian OS 9.1 Music Edition handsets should contain 8 Equalizers than the normal low quality 5 Equalisers.
Hope Nokia firmware team work on firmware for the Music Edition phones for the supporting same features as N91 8GB. that way they wont have to waste time making firmware wid limited use were as they can just use 1 firmware for Music Edition which contains same features as a REAL nokia N91 8GB.
If they can not be bothered to do that they should change there slogon to Music Edition Lite
Music Edition are Maket Hype by Nokia.. If any moderators delete me post i will take this further coz I am explaining the truth to users about Nokia Music Edition phones.

But hey, you have raised two or three main important things:
1. Firmware patches equally dividing to all sets by nokia to be as much same as possible to N91 is quite hard for em as they want to keep it as the flagship . But the fact is the devices (except N91) are labelled as Music Edition are having pop-ports, and to my knowledge it is almost difficult to have as much similar sound quality to nokia with the pop-port hardware connection to that direct 4 mm headphone connector, damn!.
2. You've told bout the integrated /dedicated music chip-this should be implemented on future music phones/not to produce the ------- hyped phones.
3. I guessed 5700 will be as same as N91-but damn! It has gone down to that audio quality-that is frightening.
Number 3 is infact a fact of which I am really afraid because 5700 has much more superior hardware improvements that that oif that damn-fated N91 and I'm kinda tired of that ----.
Couple of days ago, a member named waynester asked that he ripped off the CDtracks to 320 kbps and that N91 failed to play em/stopped em intermittantly-this is a HDD problem-which I faced several times which has now become an important major issue to apple ipod video buyers-they're also complaining bout it. .
So, if this is the case, I guess nokia/other music player companies should focus more on improving flash memory amount to upto 30 GB-hdd sucks

Need help/advice on choosing a Macbook Pro for music editing !!

so ive just started TAFE/college doing sound production and i can't decide if i should get the high end 13" 2.7GHz i7 MBP or the low end 15" 2.0GHz i7. both refurbished. or if i need one at all?
my current pc is abit old and i would like a new computer to run either logic or cubase depending what i end up with (pc/mac) so i can do music edits and mixing (maybe with visuals) for TAFE and possibly for my future career, i also plan to do home recordings when i can get the equipment. Nothing too fancy just basic home recordings. I can afford the 15" but wuld i be better off getting ther 13" and saving the money to buy the recording equipment i.e interface, cond mic.
any thoughts??

No, you indicated both MBP's had i7 chips and the 13" has a faster clock speed, so lightly better performance would be expected from that. Logic of course is Mac only so if you decided to stay with the PC you'd have to go with Cubase. Or better still use the DAW that your college recommends.
Most outboard Audio Interfaces are currently either USB or Firewire. Thunderbolt interfaces will appear over time and this should bring performance improvements. I suspect PC's will offer Thunderbolt eventually too. With the home based setup you described in the original post I'm not sure why you would need more than a couple of USB ports and you would also get a Firewire 800 port with a Mac.
Bottom line is if your existing PC can cope and is compatible with the college recommendation use it, if not, upgrade your PC and use the savings to buy the other bits you need. Or buy the 13"MBP.
While I don't want to get into the discussion about whether Macs are easier to use or just different to use, I work with both platforms doing music in UK schools and I find kids pick up the basics of computer music more quickly on a Mac. Just an observation.

You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.

However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on.

To restore your music, connect to your computer's iTunes and try the following settings.
Then hit the Apply button on bottom right. I find it best to select "sync only checked songs and videos" in the Options in Summary.

Not sure this will work but if you go into the Keyboard preferences, then click the Keyboad Shortcuts tab, and then the '+', you can add your own shortcuts for any application. I am not sure what happens if you try to override an existing shortcut since I haven't tried using this.
Edit/Update:
Probably against my better judgement I'll also throw this out there - there's an Unsanity haxie called Menumaster which might also allow you to do what you want. Against my better judgement because personally I stay clear of haxies. It's (all haxies) probably almost certain to break in Lion. They always do with each major release.

Update using iTunes on your computer. The space requirement does not apply because of how the process works via iTunes as opposed to over the air.

If there's a need for your phone to be reflashed, best to take it to Nokia Care Point and let the technician do the reflashing. Flashing the phone on your own may cause unforeseen damaging side-effects, which in turn may void the warranty of your Nokia device.

Nokia phones do not have/support user-installable "language packs".
You could ask if a local Nokia repair center could install a phone software (firmware) with Arabic support: http://www.nokia.com/repair
Otherwise your alternatives may require the use of illegally distributed, hacked software and firmware files, and the discussion is best to leave right there (here).

strange enough some of the pre-installed apps on the N70 are on the memory card and not the phone memory. which means formatting the memory card will remove everything. it's difficult to get everything back but try these :
1- try to find what you need on the n70 support page

2- if you have the download app installed on your phone , run it and check for the app there.if not check the nokia download store. http://www.download.nokia.com/
3- if your mamory card is not the original provided with the phone, locate your old memory card. using a computer copy and paste the following folders from the old original one to the new one:

* sys
* private (copy the subdirectories only and not the whole folder)
4- if something is still missing after all this, i guess it's gone for good

N73 Music Edition

Hi,
I am having problem with my N73 Music Edition phone. It freezes frequently. Need to remove the battery to restart again.
I have updated the firmware a month back but this problem remains. If we use keys quickly the freezing occurs very often.

if you have the latest firmware installed and it's freezing up, then your only other option is taking it to a nokia care center. they may be able to resolve the problem or replace your mobile. whatever is the best solution.

Classical music editing (maybe a plugin?)

I am a classical musician who has used a variety of audio programs for professional editing for commercial CD release of recorded classical music, but for more general teaching needs, I've started using Logic (just downloaded Logic X, but still have Logic 9).
In this world, we look for an application that allows precision edits. The work involves starting with a 3-4 hour multi-track recording session (this for about 10-15 minutes of music). During the session, every passage is played perfectly somewhere. As an editor, I string together regions chosen from around the session recording, with customizable crossfades. Logic can do all of this, but what I miss is the ability to do precision "nudging" of any and all region boundaries at any time.
The best such program for stereo only, 15 years ago, was called Sound Designer II, which worked on a playlist principle. Sound Designer was bought by Digidesign, who retired it when Mac moved from OS9 to OSX, forcing classical music editors to move to ProTools (or something else). One other program, a mastering program from TC Works, looked very much like SDII, and it lasted only a couple of years into the OSX time before it was dropped. Other programs, each with their proponents, have come and gone.
What made Sound Designer and TC Works so wonderful was something we called a "nudge box." I wonder if such a thing could be made as a plugin for Logic? I know some classical editors who use Logic, but it has surprising limitations, which cost us a LOT of time. For me the biggest thing: There is region boundary nudging, but only for the region ending, not the region beginning, nor for shared boundaries. Region beginnings and shared boundaries can be adjusted only with mouse dragging. I hoped for an improvement in the new Logic release, but it didn't happen. When I was a ProTools user, I could do all those kinds of nudges, but it was ungainly in other ways, and I HATED the proprietary plugins, the need constantly for a dongle, and the upgrades that made plugins and expensive hardware obsolete. I don't expect Avid to make things any better...
For the tracks being assembled (with all the carefully chosen regions), the nudge box in SDII and the TC Works program would show the wave for a region end (let's call it region A), a bar to represent the region end, a bar to represent the next region beginning (region B), a wave for the beginning and end of that region, a bar to represent Region B's end, a bar to represent the next region's beginning (C), and finally, the beginning of the wave for region C.

Above were pre-roll and post-roll controls. Below were two play buttons, one for A into B, one for B into C, according to pre-post roll amounts. The boundary bars were selectable, individually or in groups. There was a pair of nudge buttons (left/right) with a place to enter a nudge amount setting (in milliseconds). Pressing the button would shorten or lengthen any region by the nudge amount according to which border bars were selected. At each border bar pair, you could select a crossfade type (equal power, X, or any combination of fast/slow in with fast/slow out) and a cross fade length (again in milliseconds). Finally, there was a button to advance through the regions, from ABC to BCD (then CDE, etc. to the end of the track).
With access to such a box -- and, of course, these all things that are controllable in Logic -- classical editors initially piece together a recording, but spend most of their time fine tuning the places where regions meet, with no need for mouse dragging. In a typical 10-15 minute piece of music, there could be 50-100 regions, each ranging in length from a minute to less than a second.
There is no program I know of that has this kind of nudge box now. Further, what never happened, to my knowledge, was applying this kind of interface to more than a stereo track. In the old days, classical sessions were either recording to stereo (mixed down on the spot), or mixed down before editing. Now, typically, the final mix down happens during mastering, after the edits are done.
Is it possible for a plug in to replicate this kind of editing control in Logic Pro X, but for multiple tracks (say, applied to a track stack)? If so, I know a LOT of people, including me, who would pay handsomely for it. It would save us folks hours and hours of work on each project, providing an ideal workflow for this particular task.

The program is deep and rich, and beyond classical music editing, I'm am very pleased with it, and just scratching the surface. In classical music editing, I can get it to do what I need it to do, but am unable to find a comfortable and efficient workflow. I'd love some advice about this.

Hi David, although I can't provide any solutions you're not already aware of, I was wondering if you have tried to use the Junction pointer to Roll edit outgoing- versus incoming-takes?
I've given up hope a long time ago for a stereo editor in Logic 'alla' this mastering program from TC Works. Instead of that I've adapted my workflow to suit Logic's edit capacities. And lets face it, even the clumsiest editor app outperforms razor blade/ scissor editing in now a days. I fully agree with what you are saying though! Having had my share of complex classical music editing of all sorts in Logic, withstanding scrutiny of even the most critical (british) producers, I can say that I can accomplish just about any classical music editing task in this very program. And about efficiency……..well, thats a different kind of story.

I'm looking with google for a few hours.. It's a bit impossible, I need some "inside" information something that makes the difference between the coolers(between the normal one and the heatpiped one).

Searching on google it usually brings me images with both boards: with heatpipes and without.
So I look on the reviews.. :

There is the same name, same specifications, but models with different coolers and it didn't specify this nowhere on the box.
I hope that there might be some detail that can make an difference between the models - European versions .
I'm pretty sure that there must be some detail on the box in the serial number or somewhere.
