Music for slideshow stops in Organizer 11  and 12

Is anyone else having this problem.? It just recently started.  I am using Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.  Music starts, then stops after a few seconds.  Happens with the music that comes with the program as well as imported music.  Music plays in Organizer, just not with the slideshow option.

Why are you posting this question in an iWeb forum?  Does it have anything to do with iWeb?
Why not go and post it in the iPhoto forum and you might get more help there.

How do I eliminate this glitch?  Music spontaneously starts, stops, stutters at random and I'm not even using that app. Repeated attempts to pause the song and close the app have no affect. Just keeps popping on and off randomly no matter what I'm doing at the time. I tried double-clicking the Home button which brings up all of the active apps, touched and held the Music icon until all the icons started wiggling, tapped the Close icon in the upper left corner of the Music app to close the app completely, but the app is still open and still randomly stuttering. I did notice that the play button icon flashes in the upper right corner of the screen when this happens and it appears and disappears in concurrence with the Music app stuttering. When the music starts, the icon appears and when it stops, the icon disappears again. When the music stutters on and off, the icon appears and disappears rapidly and in sync with that random glitch. This just started today for no apparent reason. I turned the iPad off, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. As soon as it was finished starting up, the same music glitch began again immediately. I'm using iOS 6.1.3.

Well, no one seems to have any answers or ideas for me, I'll update what I've been able to accomplish.
I reloaded all 14 disks in the time frame of watching Lord of the Rings on Fri. nite.
Funny thing is, the first disk pulled the info from the online store! Hooray!
Wait-then all the next 13 could find no information online...what the heck is up with that? So I MANUALLY assign each disk a new track # to co-inside with each disk, spent about 2 hours doing that.
But still, itunes tells me my playlist is too large, there's not enough space on the ipod. so I unchecked 1 1/2 disks (I'd listen to 1/2 of disk 1 previously) and voila! there's my ipod full of my book. Finally. But what a lot of bother just to keep things in order!

  • Music for slideshows on the Touch?

Unlike my video iPod, when I look at the settings options for Photos on my iPod Touch, there are no music options. When I play my "slideshows", they are silent. The Apple support tech told me that you cannot have music for slideshows on the Touch. Can this be accurate? That seems odd to me. Anyone know if this can be done, and if so, how?

Your idea of starting the music and then starting a slideshow is a possible work-around, but still it seems like one should be able to have programmed music for a slideshow just like in iPhoto, or the video iPods.

  • Samples of music for slideshow

Where do I get samples of music for a slideshow . I just want a melow song/beat as the slideshow shows pictures?

If you go to the music browser in iMovie, and navigate to the iLife/Jingles section, you will find a lot of music tracks you can use in your iMovie. These are royalty free and can be used in places like YouTube.
For more places to get music, see my tip here.

You can use any track from your iTunes library, but I do not recommend this if you will put it on YouTube or FaceBook, because they can tell that you are violating copyright. They may not take your video down, but they will sell ads and give the money to the record company that owns the copyright. It can be annoying to have your friends have to watch an ad to see your video.

  • HT1338 Choosing music for slideshows

Hi, I am having trouble in selecting music to play with a slide show in iPhoto. I can see all my iTunes library but when i select a track it simply won't play in the slide show. Can anyone help?

  • Music for slideshow

Is it possible to pick more than one song for the slideshow on the ipad2?  I have a slideshow with over 600 pictures and listening to one song over and over is getting a bit old.

In the Photos app no - a work-around is to start the music playing in the iPod app and then switch into the Photos app and start the slideshow (with no music selected in the slideshow settings).

  • Music/photo slideshow stops for no apparent reason, why?

I have two recent Apple TVs linked to Windows 7 on a blazing fast PC. On either ATV I can be watching a slideshow from iTunes and generally about 5 minutes into the show it 'disconnects.'  One fix is to restart iTunes but that isn't a fix because I cannot get through a slide show.  I have plugged, unplugged, reset routers, checked speeds, reesatblished connection with my WIFI server...so none of this has worked to keep the slide show active.
In fact, even when the slide show 'bombs' out I can go to iTunes on my computer and have music play on my sound system in the living room which indicates that the systems are connected.
I was using the ipad and iphone remotes and finally removed them from my devices when I read that they will interfere.  Really!?
    Any fixes or just commiserate...

  • Music for slideshows

How do I add additional music to a slideshow I create in I-Photo? When I choose more than one song it only plays the last one selected.

If you plan on using iDVD to burn the iPhoto slideshow to disk the only factor to consider is the playing time of it . iDVD can burn a 120 minute QT movie file. If you're going to use the finder and burn the resulting QT movie file export the file and check the size.
If you do use iDVD I suggest after sending the slideshow to iDVD, delete it from the iDVD project, create a slideshow in iDVD and open its organizational window. Go to your Movies folder, locate the movie file just created and drag into the iDVD slideshow. This will allow the movie to be scaled to the TV safe area and not have any of it lost when played on a TV set due to TV overscan.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • No longer able to program music for slideshow?

For some reason when I try to play any slideshow on my tv and choose setting, when it comes to music it is stuck on "DEFAULT MUSIC NONE".   I can't bring up any of my iTunes library playlists or the Themes provided by Apple TV.  I can only turn shuffle songs off and on and that I think brings up the entire library (including Spanish lessons LOL).   I have upgraded the Apple TV software to the latest and also iTunes to latest version.   No matter what button I push on the Apple TV remote nothing changes.  I disconnected the Apple TV and reconnected it.  Only thing I haven't done yet is turn off and on the router.  Apple TV other programs all work alright as far as I know.  Any suggestions?

I solved the problem myself.  I kept hitting the same buttons on the remote, and finally the Apple iTune Library came up including all the Apple TV themes.  Don't know why it finally worked.  Didn't do anything I haven't tried before.  One of those computer quirks.  Do you suppose computers sometimes like to mess around with us humans?

  • Music for slideshows when streaming

I almost pulled my hair trying to figure this out. If you want to just stream and watch slideshows but hear no music do this:
Make sure that you are streaming (settings>Add shared library)
Go back to the top menu, select photos>shared photos and go to the settings inside this menu. NOT the settings for the main section of photos. It is above the albums in your shared photos.
Or you could sync everything but that is just not for me.

You could also set up a syncing library and choose to sync nothing but photos. This allows you many of the benefits of the primary library that you don't get by setting up a secondary library.

  • Selecting music for slideshows on Apple TV

When I want to show my photos on Apple TV as a slideshow, the program randomly picks music from my i-Tunes library to accompany the slides. Sometimes the music "works", sometimes it is inappropriate and distracting. Can I control which music accompanies my slideshows without going to the work of formally creating the show in i-Movie?

If you have the latest update for Apple TV and if you have an iPod Touch or iPhone then you can use the Remote Application to change the song while viewing a Photo slide show.

  • TS3297 iPad.    I removed music for storage   That take   re of and all nusic off of keeps on saying download error for purchased music.   Two weeks

I cannot download purchased music on iPad 2.   Error   It is not a storage issue

I also had system issues a couple of weekends ago. I had to restore my computer. Once complete I reinstalled iTunes and then set all of my backup files in place (I back up my iTunes folder everytime I purchase something). The problem is, everytime I click on anything I purchased, movie or song, it tells me I am not authorized on this computer. I also am using just one computer and have been using the same one for the last couple of years. I attempted to deauthorized my system by following the instructions here in the forum plus instructions found on the site. After aproximatly 30 minutes I gave up on entering my user name and password over and over and over again. Do you know of anything else I can try? Thank you for the assistance:-)

  • No music for slideshows

Just upgraded my iPhoto for iOS7 and I get no sound when I have music selected for slide shows.
Anyone else have this - any hints as to what the heck is going on and how to fix it...
    Thanks
    RB

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.

  • Selected music for slideshow won't play.Just makes a distorted noise Help!

Then I would post that in the iTunes forum. As the share isn't working in multiple apps it points to iTunes as the issue.

  • I just downloaded a bunch of music for a friend and now want it off my computer. It's in "recently added". I've tried pushing delete and dragging it to trash, but it just bounces back! How do I get it off?

I just downloaded a bunch of music for a  friend to my itunes and now want it off my mac. It's in "recently added". I've tried to hightlight it and hit delete and I've tried dragging it to trash, but they just bounce back. How do I get rid of it?

To delete from the Recently Added playlist and also from your library, select the items in the Recently added playlist and press Option Delete on your keyboard.
    Select Move to trash.
Option Delete will remove an item from the library, even if it's in a smart playlist, thus removing it from any playlist.
