Music - iCloud - Apple ID's?

Hello, just a wee question about what will happen to my music when iCloud becomes. What i mean is, currently my apple ID which has all my music & apps which is associated with my iTunes is not the same ID I use for mobileme. I know (am I wrong?) that it is impossible to 'move' everything which has been purchased with one ID over to another - this is a shame as I would love to dump my old apple ID & use my mobileme ID for everything rather than having seperate account.
Anyway, seeing that icloud will incorporate music etc... will i have any problems accessing my purchased music & apps in case the mobileme account becomes the default for iCloud? I know this is speculation as these have not arrived yet (can't wait) but just thinking ahead. if anyone has any ideas how this transition might happen for people with seperate apple ID's used for mobileme & iTunes.
Thxs,

You would need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap her ID, sign out, then sign back in with your ID.  However, if she has turned on automatic downloads, download previous purchases or signed into an iTunes Match account using her current ID, she would have to wait 90 days from when she first did this to change to another ID.  She can, of course, sync your music to her device using iTunes without changing her ID association.

  • 1 Apple ID only for music, 1 Apple ID for iCloud

    Am I doing it right?
    Dear All,
I keep all my music on a Mac Mini directly linked to a Weiss Converter and to my Burmester. I would like to maintain everything sync on iCloud, nevertheless, I would like to purchase music under a separate Apple ID as you can't stay logged into the store and I don't want to disclose my PW to whom downloads music from the iTunes at home. Currently I had 1 Apple ID and Music Match.
    Steps that I took:
Created a new Apple ID which I used as iTune store account. DO I HAVE TO CREATE A NEW iTUNES MATCH OR CAN I TRANSFER IT FROM THE APLE ID THAT I USE AS ICLOUD?
I changed only the music preferences on my iPad and iPhone inserting the new Apple ID. DOES THIS ALLOW ME, WHEN I PURCHASE MUSIC EITHER AT HOME OR VIA IPHONE OR IPAD, TO HAVE IT AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADED IN MY HOME MAC?
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ALREADY PURCHASED MUSIC? IF I ACTIVATE A NEW MUSIC MATCH ON THE NEW APPLE ID, WILL THIS AUTOMATICALLY CONSIDER THE WHOLE LIBRARY THAT I ALREADY HAD PLUS THE NEW MUSIC DOWNLOADED? IF I WANT TO HAVE THIS MUSIC ALSO ON MY MACBOOK RETINA, WHO SHOULD IPROCEED? ALSO USE THE NEW APPLE ID AND IT GOES AUTOMATICALLY? DO I THEN HAVE TO AUTHORIZE THE MACBOOK RETINA WITH 1 OF THE 5 AUTHORISATIONS WHICH ARE MADE AVAILABLE?
WILL THE PREVIOUS MUSIC STAY IN MY IPHONE/IPAD LIBRARY WHEN I CHANGE ID?
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I PLUG THE IPHONE INTO MY RETINA? SHOULD I DISABLE MUSIC SYNC/ICLOUD MUSIC SYNC BECAUSE IT GETS THE MUSIC THROUGH THE NEW APPLE ID AUTOMATIC DOWNLOAD/ MUSIC MATCH?
CAN I RESIGN THE MUSIC MATCH FOR THE ICLOUD APPLE ID?
Thank you all for your help in sharing experiences

You have to delete the existing iCloud account, then set up a new one with a different ID.  To do this and migrate your data to a new account, first decide which device(s) will be changing accounts and which will be keeping the existing account.  On the one(s) that will be changing, if there any photos in photo stream that are not in the camera roll that you want to keep on the device you'll need to save these to the camera roll first, by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, one each device that will be changing accounts, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
When you're finished migrating the device(s) to the new account(s), if you have any merged data that you don't want on your device(s) you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the other device's contacts from your account, and vice versa).

  • I have two different 5s's with two different phone numbers but they are both using the same iCloud/apple account. After upgrading to iOS8 when I get a phone call on one phone both phones ring.

I have two different 5s's with two different phone numbers but they are both using the same iCloud/apple account. After upgrading to iOS8 when I get a phone call on one phone both phones ring. One phone is for work and one is for private and I don't need both phones to ring from one call. It's bizarre.......is this supposed to be like this? If so where can I turn it off?? And while we are at it iOS8 has installed iBooks on both of my phones and iTunes won't let me uninstall it. I don't need or want iBooks on my phones.

    Hi,
There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to upgrade a non-icloud apple id

I have an iTunes apple id. I successfully downloaded and installed the iCloud client. However, when trying to log into iCloud I get the following error message, "Apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account".
How do I upgrade my iTunes apple id to an iCloud apple id?
In case it is of help I do not have any Apple devices, but would like to make use of the iCloud to hold my photos and music, and use the family share option that comes with OS8.1, so my family can see my photos using their Apple devices.
Thanks for any help that can be offered.

R4: I have iCloud acct and tried something diff: to save vcard from Mail ("iCloud/All iCloud) on Mac 10.10.1 and when point to folder to save get error:
"You might not have permission to write in the selected location or the volume could be full. Contacts could not write the exported vCard"
There are 140 contact items in list. I DO have permissions as seen in GET INFO (read and write privileges in folder trying to move to); and on this iMac I have currently used 111 GB of 1TB drive. What else does that mean?

  • Only get static when attempting to play music from Apple TV

I only get static when attempting to play music on Apple TV from the cloud.  Any thoughts?

iTunes Match is available now. You can sign up from your computer and then, on your Apple TV, you can turn iTunes Match on to listen to your iCloud library from the Apple TV.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

  • Trying to change my iCloud apple ID to match my iTunes. Unlike previous question, my iCloud account does not even exist anymore, so I'm not able to sign OUT of it on my phone. I'm stuck because I can't sign in or out of it.

A while back I changed the login that I use for my account. For some reason when I got my new iPhone, iCloud decided to log me in using the older email account. Since it doesn't technically exist anymore, I can't use it to sign into my phone. But I keep getting popups on my phone every minute asking me to log in with my (now non-existant) iCloud account. I'd like to be able to sign out of that iCloud account and sign in with the same email address that I use for my iTunes account. However, I can't even log out of my iCloud account on my phone because signing out requires a password also! What to do?

    Hello florabb,
You may be able to change or reset the password on this old iCloud/Apple ID account, even if you no longer have access to the email address associated with it. Once the password is changed/updated, you should be able to log your iPhone out of the old iCloud/Apple ID account and log in to the correct new account. You may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful:
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    Sincerely,
    - Brenden

  • After I've set-up my iOS device with an Apple ID for iCloud, how can I change the iCloud Apple ID?

After updating my iPad 2 & iPhone 4 to iOS 5, I set-up each one for iCloud, but inadvertently used 2 different Apple ID's (one me.com and one that I typically use for Apple purchases).  I realize this will prevent the two devices from syncing.  When I try to change the iCloud Apple ID, it is grayed out, and I can't find any way to re-set it on my iPad.  Does anyone know how to re-set this ID so both devices are operating on the same ID?
I have a second question (though not as pressing as the first).  I'd like to use my me.com ID to sync calendars, contacts, etc., but another ID to sync my Apple purchases (apps, etc.).  This way my wife and I could share apps, but each sync our iPhones and iPads to our own content.  Does anyone know if this type of dual-ID set-up is possible on one device?
I know there's a lot of confusion out there, but I'm trying to keep in mind that this is a huge upgrade and transition for Apple, so it will all work out, and should be fantastic when it does.  It'll just take a little time to sort out.  Thanks for any suggestions!  -Bob-

    Hi Jeremy,
That is my understanding.  Clicking "Delete Account" is similar to logging out of iCloud with that account.
But your situation is different from mine, as I had been using my @me.com account for "Find My iPhone" only.  I ended up using my @me.com account for iCloud and another account for my Apple iTunes Store purchases.
That's correct--it will not delete your purchases.  You can still back-up to your Mac with iTunes using the same account you used to purchase your Apple stuff.  -Bob-

My old Apple ID is on my iPhone, but this has been transferred to a new Apple ID.  The iCloud on my phone is requesting the password for the old Apple ID, but this no longer exists.  How do I update the iCloud Apple ID on my iPhone?  When I try to get the old passwork through forgot my password, the reply is that there is no account that exists.

  • My company set up a Icloud account under their help desk email but i dont have the password to fix it so i need to be able to change the Icloud apple id to my email address but it wont let me because found my Ipad is turned on and cant change?

My company set up an Icloud apple id under their help desk email by mistake and there isnt a password so how do i change the email address/apple id
to my email address that i do have the password for?  I can use the Ipad for everything except the Icloud account.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • I have a new email address and updated it with my apple id/icloud and updated on my iPhone, but i'm getting a pop up to enter my password with my old email address listed for iCloud/Apple id.

I have a new email address and updated my apple id/icloud  with the new address. I updated on my iPhone, but i'm keep getting a pop up to enter my password with my old email address listed for iCloud/Apple id.  How do I get it to go away?

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

  • I want to switch my main iCloud Apple ID account with another one, but to do that do I have to delete the account? and if I do delete the main account that the iCloud is on now, will it delete the whole account or will it just remove it from iCloud?

Did you ever find an answer cuz I am curious too!

  • Can one have multiple iCloud Apple IDs?

    Hello.
Would I automatically lose my current iCloud Apple ID if I signed up for a new one? And if the answer is ‘No’, what is the maximum number of iCloud email addresses that one can have?

You can create a new Apple ID and then iCloud account without affecting the original one. You can sign into additional iCloud accounts in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars so that the data appears alongside the primary account.
No limit to the number of accounts created this way has been stated, however any one Mac or device can create only three iCloud accounts (though once the limit is reached they can sign into another account created on another Mac or device). The three-account limit is tied to the hardware, not the user account, and cannot be bypassed.
Of course if all you want is additional addresses you can create three 'email aliases' on any one account - these are not accounts but extra addresses, messages to which are delivered to the same inbox as the primary address. More on aliases here - http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
Note that once you have created an alias it cannot be moved to another account nor turned into an ID, even after deletion.

  • When I listen to music on Apple TV 2 my pictures from iPhoto come in, but always the same album (which I nevr asked for), always in random order and always in a different format. How can I control what is going on and choose the album myself.

When I listen to music on Apple TV 2 my pictures from iPhoto come in aafter about ten minutes, but always the same album (which I never asked for), always in random order and always in a different format. How can I choose a different album myself and control the order and format?

Thank you Winston for a helpful response and for reminding me of something which I found nearly a year ago and then lost (in my mind) because I did not use it. I am grateful for a correct answer but it still only achieves part of what I wanted.
I can now choose my photos, decide how long they stay on screen and choose one of a variety of presentations. Two things I still can't do.
One is to get it to play the photos in the chronological order in which I have carefully set them in an album; it still tends to be random and repetitive. The other is that I cannot get any of them them to saty on screen for more than about 20 seconds. I guess this is all due to the way Apple TV is constructed.
    But still thanks, nevertheless.
    Alec

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.
