Music ID Tag app worth checking out....

I have been using a application called Android ID3 that recently got updated and I figured it merit sharing, for users with large amounts of music on device and want to organized the file but the ID Tag information has random tags that makes grouping albums together a little difficult you may want to check this out..

Logic ver. 6.3.1 ... is it worth checking out?

I use Digital Performer, and I have Logic ver. 6.3.1 put away somewhere. Never installed it. I am intrigued by the latest version of Logic Pro. I am not sure if I am prepared to spend the necessary $700 for the upgrade to Logic Pro, based on the prior version I own.
Is ver. 6.3.1 [Big Box] worth installing and checking out? Will it run on Tiger, and lastly, what are the main differences between what I have and the latest edition of Logic Pro?
Essentially I produce broadcast dialog audio. Software instruments are not important to me.

It won't run properly on OS 10.4.
Logic Audio (big box) is very limited compared to Logic Pro anyway, thee are so many features it doesn't have it is hard to enumerate them here.

NQ Mobile Security & Antivirus - Worth checking out...

Recently I have been investigating a new method of protecting my device since the latest DKFBootkit malware threat brought to light, at the moment only rooted device are the only ones effected by this malware but since hackers are becoming more and more familiar with methods to attack Android users...

I've heard that NQ isn't bad. There's also Kaspersky & another one that people tend to like but dagnabit if it isn't escaping me at the moment. Sure there's the standard Lookout & Avast! out there but this was yet another one. Maybe it was Bitdefender? Oh that's going to drive me batty now.
ANYWHO...I actually found an article comparing the various apps out there. I wonder if I can find it again. They did some pretty extensive "testing" of the various apps out there. I currently have AVG and I'm about to dump it because of the testing and go with either Avast! or perhaps Kaspersky. I haven't decided yet. May look into NQ again. I already have a Norton's thingy-ma-bob on my phone but haven't ditched it yet. Probably could.
I'll see if I can find that article this evening or tomorrow if you're interested.

Review worth checking out

I came upon this review of the new 17" intel imac on a site called "Ars technica". It's very thorough. It's kind of long (8 pages) but if you've got the time it's worth reading. It includes a breakdown of all the components and the architecture, software, benchmarks, and comparisons to a G5 imac and a Powermac G5. It even addresses booting Windows (no, it didn't work!). Apparently they did not have a 20" imac to test, but it gets the job done anyway.
All in all, it's very positive. It seems pretty objective as these people review a lot more than just Macs, so they are far from prejudiced toward the Mac.

I took your advice and searched the site for "finder".
Just finished skimming through an article on "The Spatial Finder" that has my head swimming. I see this author has some very definite ideas about what is wrong with Apple's Finder and how to "fix" it. Personally, I have no problems with the finder. Actually, all you really need to find anything is Spotlight. I'm so used to searching folders for files that I forget all I have to do is start typing the name of the file or folder and Spotlight finds it before I even finish typing. I still try to organize files and folders in a standard fashion, but with Spotlight it's hardly necessary. I also like the dock and the column view finder. For me, it works well.

Upgraded to iTunes 11. Now, I can not sync my music to my iPhone 4S (iOS 6.0.1) Apps, movies and videos sync OK. Music is the problem. Tags are correctly check-marked. Any ideas ???

My local library uses a program called Overdrive Media Console to check out audiobooks. MP3 type books go to music on my iPod Nano, but I am unable to delete them because I tunes doesn't display them as content. What should I do? I need the space.

According to my library, I can download MP3 audio books to my Ipod Nano. The material is "checked out" to a program called Over Drive Media Console. and from there, it is transferred to my IPod. the audio doesnt go to Audi Books, it goes to Music. I want to delete some of the books I have listened to, but when I plug in the Ipod and open ITunes, the titles are not there. The manual says to connect to itunes, and delete a "song or other material" but since I did not use ITunes to get the
"song" to begin with, it isnt recognized. How can I get these audioboks off my IPOD? I am running out of space. I tried connecting to Overdrive, but the software doesnt recognize the internal content. It only sets it up for transfer.

The audio books do not display under the music sub-menu
And they shouldn't. They should be under the Books submenu that is further down the list from the Music submenu you are referring to.

I'm running ableton live music software. It has performed beautifully for about a year, but now it is stopping and skipping frequently. The hardware checks out ok, I've been shutting down often, there's nothing open on the desktop....

Why will my macbook pro skip when I'm playing music? Plenty of memory, the hardware checks out ok. Do I need maintanence or to reload osx?

I updated my iMac yesterday to check out this new feature, but I can't seem to figure out how it works. Can anyone tell me how to view my wishlist from my music library. I restarted my computer, but that didn't work either. I'm obviously missing something. Otherwise, accessing my wishlist just works like it always did. I would appreciate some input on this.

Frustrated with all of it!! Music, Word, checking out.....

I have had this Mac for not even a year. Laptop Macbook 10.5.5. I pushed and pushed my husband to let me get this because I heard and THOUGHT it was the best system out there. Simple to use, solid system, better than anything on the market.
Ok, I have been NOTHING but frustrated since I got it. I realize that it takes a while to get used to something new like a Mac when you're used to using a PC all the time. However, this whole thing has gone on for almost a year and I'm about ready to just sell it and go back to what I'm accustomed to.
For one...when I used Word, which I bought special software at Best Buy to be able to integrate my PC work at my office with my Mac, I get error messages constantly, right when I'm in the middle of something, that tells me that Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then, it shuts down my whole Word doc without saving any of my work (!!!!!!) and has to restart. Says something about a kernal trap error when I click for specifics.
Second, I can't check out with sites like Wal Mart or Wal Greens when working on photo projects. Will just sit there saying "auto saving project" and will not allow the radio buttons to work for Check Out. This happens when using both Safari and Firefox. ???? Also, I can't upload pics to Craigslist or ebay. Nice. It just sits there, frozen when I try.
I want to be able to share music....just installed LimeWire. When I open it, within seconds, it says that it needs to close and relaunch for some unknown reason.
When I'm working in Excel, it constantly won't let me tab between fields and when I try to "insist" by tabbing, it shuts down.
I'm sure there are tons more issues that I'm not thinking of right now.....oh, yeah, when I'm trying to burn disks with pics or music, it tells me to insert a new disk, I do (brand new out of the box) it spits it back out and tells me that it's not a blank disk. Oh and if it's a CD-RW, it won't show me how to "erase" whatever NON file is one there. GRRRRR
I am seriously beyond frustrated with this. I paid a lot of money for this contraption and I can't even use it. I don't know if I can get some "free" help at a MacStore considering this thing isn't even a year old.

Are you doing any maintenance? First one to learn is how to repair permissions:
Run Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) and Repair Disk Permissions BEFORE and AFTER every software update. Launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot. That will help keep your Macs happy!
Make sure the hard disk doesn't have any errors:
To check the hard disk:
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click the Verify button. If DU reports errors, click Repair. When it's finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.

I called AppleCare this morning and Sean helped me out in a huge way. In all of my attempts, I had not done a factory-default reset on the main base station and apparently some sort of endless loop had occurred between those two stations. Sean was very helpful and patient with me, but now the system is working as promised. Moral of this story is if a factory default rest doesn't help on the "problem" base station, try resetting all of the units.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). Hi Lohi,
When you are connected ot DTR and trying to change WD component from there you will be asked about whether you need to add changed files to activity. Don`t add any generated files to activities (from bin nad gen_* folders). To check out, go to development infrastrucutre view, select activity, specify name, review it, check out, activate.

No music in walkman app using Media Go

Hey!
I recently (well, today) purchased an Xperia Z2 device.. One of the problems I'm experiencing is that no matter what I do, the walkam app just refuses to find my music in the phone. I've seen several people suggesting to clear the data from the walkman app and to reboot the phone but no progress so far. It's worth mentioning that the music is in the internal storage, placed into the root/Music folder which is probably the defult sync location for Media Go.

Certain music pieces and apps won't download from my iPod to iTunes on my MacBook

I want to put what is on my iPod on my new MacBook, but certain pieces and apps won't download because my computer isn't authorized (so it will delete it from my iPod if I sync), but when it asks me to authorize it it uses an old Apple ID that doesn't exist anymore and to which I do not have access. Any ideas how to fix this? I just want to be able to sync my iPod with this computer without worrying about losing anything.

One problem I'm having is find the perfect streaming settings for the movies. I did check them on a fast Windows machine and on a brand new Mac at the local CompUSA store. Things worked well on their very fast Internet connection but the longer concept video didn't seem to want to stream. I'm almost thinking to grab some JumpCut or YouTube code and insert it just to get it to work. I know this will put their logos in but I'm just not sure what to do.
One thing I'm aware of and something I did do on purpose is that I made the background images very large -- to accomodate those wealthy folks with the very big, very wide monitors. I wanted never to run out of background "virtual" world no matter how big one stretched the browser window. Also, the necessity to scroll was intentional. Let me know if this is too annoying.
Appreciate any expert helpful comments and feedback on improvements.
