Music in Safari

I've recently put up a web-site and my music pops when I listen to it in Safari, but it doesn't in Firefox or IE. Does anyone know what's causing this?

Should be able to go into your sound preferences and choose your output device, you can also try downloading Airfoil and try that, it's a pretty cool app.

  • Unexpected program closures - music stops, Safari quits

Four times now I've had either Safari quit on me or the iPod function on my iPhone suddenly stop. Once the music stopped when I was doing something else (Web browsing), once it was just playing. Safari's also quit twice. What it does is simply go to black and then show me the main menu. On either the iPod or the browser, returning to the program lands me either on a random page I'd accessed at some point in the past, or a music menu that wasn't where I'd left it.
    Any idea what's going on?

  • THEORY ON MUSIC AND SAFARI BUG

I have a theory about people complaining, their music stops playing when they are browsing the internet.
I think... that the music stops to allow music on websites and sound effects on websites to function. The safari sounds override the music, allowing sites like Youtube and Myspace to function with sound.

To be picky about it, in contemporary scientific terms it was a hypothesis, not a theory. Guesses become hypotheses when they are well defined enough to provide ways to test their validity; they become theories when they pass all the tests anyone can devise. Even well established theories may need to be discarded or modified if new tests demonstrate they can't meet this criteria.
The only way to be wrong in this scheme is to refuse to acknowledge the validity of the testing process. This happens more often than it should because even good scientists are often reluctant to abandon ideas they have grown comfortable with.

  • How can I get rid of background music on Safari

There is a backgrund music on my Safari and I cannot get rid of it ... Please help

That must be the websites you're viewing, and not Safari itself.
Doesn't your keyboard have mute, volume down, and volume up keys (as F10, F11 and F12 ?)
And BTW: this is the forum for the Mac Pro, not the MacBook Pro...

  • My iTunes keeps erasing my music when safari is open. And Safari (ver 4.1.3) crashes a lot since the last update. Help!

Help! My iTunes occasionally re-imports all of my media erasing my playlists (and it takes to long to do this). I believe this problem is related to the latest update to Safari Ver 4.1.3. My Safari crashes a lot now (about every other day). How do I fix my iTunes. The Safari crashing isn't a big deal but that would be nice to fix too.
    Thanks!

Crashing for me too whenever clicking on "movies" under library.  Just happened with the 10.6 update.  I'm on Snow Leopard.

  • Can't download music in Safari or Explorer

I downloaded a song from myspace.com just a few days ago. Now, all of a sudden, I can't download songs from myspace using Safari or Explorer for that matter. I can download other things like pdfs and photos. I'm using Safari 1.0.3 and Explorer 5.2.
    I appreciate anyone's help.

Sounds like you have your burn options set to "MP3 CD" Instead of "Audio CD" if its wanting to convert a file.
Goto edit>preferences>Advanced tab>Burn sub tab, set it to "Audio CD" and hit OK

  • So can i download music from safari not to buy from itunes? thanks for the answear

    can i download music?

There are legitimate sites where you can download free music. Also, I thing there are apps for the iPod to download free music. Google from them.
However, the only way to get music in the iPod's Music app is to either purchase it from the iTunes store or import into iTunes library on your computer and sync.

    Hello iouise29,
Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching apps that are open, I recommend resetting your iPhone:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPhone:

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

  • Safari & iTunes --- where's my music????

My last Apple update for iTunes landed me in Safari land. I went it to Safari to change update my iPod music only to discover that it doesn't quite work that way...not easily. I either need to figure out how to get my music into Safari, or I need to dump Safari and put a version of iTunes on my computer. Now accepting any advice. Thank you.

After I updated to Safari, which I thought was an Apple update, where did my iTunes disappear to?
I still have music files in iTunes folder. I have no display to select and deselect music or create playlists.
Would most appreciate guidance in this area. Thanks.

  • Music stops when Safari opens

I downloaded iOS6 for my ipad & am now having trouble listening to music when Safari is open. I put on music (through the iPad's 'music' app), open Safari, and the song continues to play for a few seconds and then stops. I don't remember this ever happening prior to iOS6. Ironically, I can play music and use Chrome ...
    Any ideas?

Click the green button in the top left corner of the window to resize it. If you can't reach the button, drag the window to the right by its title bar. You can further resize by dragging any of the edges or corners. Once you've resized the window, Safari should remember the size.

  • Why does my music close when opening Safari?

Anyone have this problem? I'll be listening to music like normal, then if I open Safari and browse around a little, the music stops playing. And if I try double-clicking the home button to play the music again, it usually ends up just closing both the music and Safari.
What can I do to resolve this issue?

    It's a fairly common bug.
    No fix at this time.
    Hopefully it's being worked on.
Sometimes a reset or even a restore can help, but I'd only do a reset as it's not specific to your Touch.
