Music is Locked

I am new to all of this, and not very computer smart....I purchased some songs and downloaded them into my music folder. When I try to load them on my MP4 player, they will not load. I noticed a small lock on the music icon, so I am assuming it is locked for some reason. I have only one computer I am working with, and I played around so much with this already that I lost all my songs and had to repurchase them. I would trully appreciate ANY help you could give me!!
Thanks

Only the iPod range and the iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes for Windows and with songs from the iTunes Music Store. Songs from the iTunes Store with DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection will not play on any other devices.

  • My Ipod Music is locked on itunes

I have a Shuffle and an 80 Gig ipod. On my shuffle I can delete songs that are on it. However, on the 80 gig pod the music appears locked and on the bottom of itunes it shows a small lock icon next to where it says how much free space I have. Appreciate any help, can't seem to find any answers about this.My music plays fine on the ipod but I can't manage it at all.

The songs are "greyed out" because you have the iPod set to transfer songs automatically. That is also why the padlock icon appears at the bottom of iTunes next to the space used/available.
If you want the songs to be bold and selectable/editable, then you need to change to manage the content manually.
Please note that by editing/changing the songs on your iPod in this manner, the changes will not affect the songs in iTunes, only on your iPod.

  • [iOS] Add to "Your Music" from Lock Screen on iPhone

As the new Apple Music has come out, they have introduced a "Love" button from the lock screen on iPhone- With this introduced it must be possible for developers to use that space to add a "Add to Your Music" If it is, then I would love that feature when riding my bike and don't have much time for leaving focus from the road.

  • How can I disable wifi while playing music with locked ipod touch?

When I play music and lock the iPod touch, the wifi stays on which drains more battery than is needed. I don't want to turn off wifi in Settings since I like the flexibility to unlock the iPod and quickly check email, browse the web while listing to music (without going into settings, turn it on, browse, go back to settings and turn it off). Once I lock the iPod while playing music, I'd like the wifi to turn off. I know it will stay on while streaming that is expected, but why is the wifi staying on when playing music of the iPod?? Is there a way to do what I am asking? I don't recall having this issue with OS 1.x or 2.x. Also I have seen some posts asking for the opposite (leave the wifi on when not playing music and iPod is locked). These posts acknowledge that wifi stays on while playing music, so it seems to be 'feature' or bug in the OS.

henry is correct. you can't do that.
however, for what it's worth, i have found that wifi connection is similar to mobile phone network connection. i.e. if a phone is searching for a network, it takes up huge amounts of battery, but if it is constantly connected, it doesn't. so it is the 'search' procedure which drains the battery. similarly with my iPod touch. if it is connected to my home wifi network, but i am not using the wifi connection, the battery will not drain significantly. it's when i'm away from home and forget to switch it off that the battery drains. or when i am using it constantly (like listening to a 3.5 hr radio show using safari)

  • Transferring music has locked iTunes But I want the music in my account.

I transferred my music files overnight from an older mac to a new iMac using migration assistant.  But it saved the music files in a new account ( from the old computer) which I don't want to use. So I copied and dragged the music file into the new account name files. But then after doing that iTunes won't open. I just get the iTunes locked message. I have checked that the permissions and sharing options for the music files and library are all set to read and write by everyone. 2 days in. Going to cry. All I want to do is move my music to my new computer. I'm about to wipe the new computer, and give up... Any ideas?

The suggested threads took me to someone who had fixed this. Although I thought I had changed permissions, clearly I had not done it for all enclosed files. Thanks..

  • Can't pause music from lock screen in iOS 6?

I have my iPhone 4s set up with a passcode.  In iOS 5 I could pause and resume music and podcasts without having to unlock the phone with my passcode.  I no longer have that ability in iOS 6.  If I have a song or podcast playing the phone will Auto-Lock after a minute, and to pause playback I have to slide the slider and then enter my passcode to make the controls visible.
I've done a fair number of searches to determine whether this can be controlled with a setting but haven't been able to find any answers. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or did Apple remove this functionality?
    Thanks.
    Shawn
PS:  I wasn't planning on upgrading to iOS 6 any time soon, but I dropped my 11-month-old iPhone 4s a week ago during our first trip to New York.  Smashed the front glass (couldn't find my bumper before we left).  Out-of-warranty, no Apple Care.  It turns out we were only a few blocks away from the upper west side Apple store.  They replaced the shattered phone with a "new" one for $200 (plus $50 for Applecare and $30 for a case), but ended up with a phone running iOS 6.  So now there's this lock screen control issue, plus the map issues (which weren't too bad).  On the bright side, I made a lot of use of the Panorama photo feature on our trip.  And I was happy we were able to get a replacement within an hour, even though it cost $200+.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!  Thanks so much Steve A.  Double tapping the Home button does toggle the player controls on and off from the lock screen.
I was hoping it would be something simple like that.
Just wondering, is that functionality explained somewhere?  As I wrote in my first post I did several searches to come up with a fix or explanation for this issue.
    Cheers.

  • I cannot access music in lock screen

After updating to ios 7, using the control panel I cannot play music from my lock screen. I can press play and skip all I want and it will not do anything.
I have to unlock my phone and go into music to play the music. Once locked, the small music player at the top of the lock screen comes up but I cannot use this either, same problem. It also doesn't respond to my FM tuner remote anymore.

I'm having the same issue. It's very annoying as I listen to music religiously and having to unlock and select the music app to change songs or turn music on quickly was not an issue with my 4.

  • How to get rid of music on lock screen

On my lock screen the music keeps coming up instead of the clock. I have tried to double tab of the home button. It goes away but then the next time my phone is on lock again it is back to the music. Any way to keep the clock showing up?

Sounds like a key on the keyboard is stuck down. Does it disappear if you disconnect the keyboard?

  • My music pauses or restarts when I come out of music or lock screen onto homepage. Anyone know how to fix this?

For the past week when I've been listening to my music and I either come out of lock or go onto the homes teen, my music pauses for a second or restarts the song. I turned my phone off and on and it worked for about a day but it's gone back to doing it now. I've had my iPhone 5 for just under a year.

Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
    - Press the home button when done.

  • Music app locks up

    Hey all,
Anyone found a workable answer for the music app? I've got albums that have no problem with album art. When I switch to a different song, the app locks up/freezes and it takes a few seconds before it will go to the next song. It all happened after the IOS 5.01 update.
    Thank you,
    Mike

On the iOS devices, are you connecting via WiFi or cellular when you attempt this? Are you able to actually download any tracks? I'm running around 17,000 tracks on mine, 95% are from ripped CDs and not seeing an issue, but download almost always while connected via WiFi.
Corrupt files are not out of the question, but honestly couldn't tell you how to isolate them.

  • Only music screen locked up on 4th gen touch everything else ok ,any options or will have to restore to new

screen locked up on music app only, 4th gen itouch, everthing else ok. options or will have to restore to new ?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod touch 3g plays music while locked

For some reason only when the remote headphones are plugged in it'll start playing as if it were haunted about 40 min or so later. It seems to happen if the iPod was playing music and is paused and then locked. I've done my research and it seems this is common and even if I restore or get a refurb it'll still happen. I just want to know if apple is aware of this and if it plans to be fixed?

If the problem isn't the headphones or earbuds, then by elimination the problem has to be the mini output of the iPod Touch - which is known for having problems. If you go to your Apple Store, the Genius Bar will able to take a magnifier and document what problem there is with your iTouch mini output.
If Apple repairs your Touch, the price is likely to run over $170; iPod Juice, which isn't affiliated with Apple, does the same job for considerably less. Or, you could sell it on eBay, stipulating the specific issue to the potential buyer.
