I bought an album back in October and have been charged the $20 but I only got two of the 16 songs. It says purchased but I can't download them. How can I get them?

You might, depending upon what country that you are in, be able to download them via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone, and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes (or try the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes and see if that downloads them).
If you aren't in a country where music can be redownloaded, and you never downloaded those 14 tracks, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • My ipod was set up on a Mac. Now I have a PC and want to sync my music on iTunes, but I can't without reformatting my drive and losing my music.

My ipod was set up on a Mac. Now I have a PC and want to sync my music on iTunes, but I can't without reformatting my drive and losing my music. Help. I no longer have a Mac. I want to keep the music and videos I purchased. Since it is an iPod classic (80GB) I cannot even use the iCloud. Is there a way to move my ipod's music so I can reformat it to my pc?

WIndows is asking you to reformat the iPod's hard disk because it's probably in the Mac OS X Extended Journaled file system format which the Windows OS can neither read or write to.  Reformatting will erase all content from the device and rebuild the filesystem as FAT32 unless you specify it as NTFS (which you shouldn't do).
If you want to be able to use your iPod to copy music from your Mac to your PC, you'll need to either pre-format it as FAT32 using Disk Utility on your Mac and then copy everything over to your PC, or use third party software such as XPlay that allows a Windows PC to read and write to a Mac formatted iPod.
Perhaps you could take a look at this article for other ways to copy your iTunes library and files from your Mac to the PC.

My ipod touch 64G doesnt allow me to do anything in my music app. I cant even play music or select anything.  But I can use all other apps.  How do I fix this??? PLS Help me:(

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • HT203167 Music files present but iTunes can't see them

OK, I have the unfortunate situation that all of my music files appear to be present and correct, but iTunes just shows nothing at all. I have tried all of the suggestions I can find online, including changing the Music folder using iTunes Preferences/Advanced, selecting a new folder on startup by pressing the Alt key on my MacBook, and re-installing iTunes from scratch, but nothing seems to work.
    Config: OS X 10.7.4 (Lion) and iTunes 10.6.3 (25)
I have a sneaking suspicion that this occurred just after the system upgraded my version of iTunes, but can't be 100% certain since upgrades seem to happen all the time.
This is obviously frustrating, so any advice would be gratefully received. It's an unusual case I think, in that I've got my music and backups, but can't actually play the blasted stuff with iTunes. As a last resort I may have to just re-import it all, but this will take and age and will almost certainly lose my playlists, so I consider this a last resort. Everything is there on the 'puter, so I don't see why it has to be so **** difficult!

Oh well, nobody replied so I went out on a limb and thought I'd try a combination of the various fixes that I had seen for similar problems on this forum. This seems to have worked, so I thought I'd document them here, in case anybody has the same problem. Yes, I know it's just repeating stuff that other people have said (by definition), but it'll be useful for me, even if nobody else ever uses it.
I'd pretty much resigned myself to screwing everything up, so I thought I might as well tidy up my iTunes folders to begin with, since these had got rather scrambled over the lifetime of iTunes.
As a first step, I exitted iTunes and used the OS X Activity Monitor to kill the iTunes helper.
I then moved all of the various iTunes media folders from the "iTunes" directory to the newer "iTunes\iTunes Media" folder. The media folders that I had on my system were: Album Artwork, Audiobooks, Books, Mobile Applications, Movies, Music, Podcasts, Ringtones, TV Shows, Voice Memos, iPod Games and iTunes U. Note that this is just what I found on my setup - ymmv.
Rather pleasingly, by performing this step I located a number of orphan media files that I hadn't seen for ages (years in some cases), so it was a step well worth doing imho.
Since I didn't want to waste time actually moving any files at this stage, I started up iTunes and set the iTunes/Preferences/Advanced dialog to disable the "Copy files to media folder" option.
I then dragged each of the media folders from the Finder into iTunes. I was really pleased that it was able to automagically assign them to the correct categories under the iTunes LIBRARY. Apart from the music selection the transfer was pretty fast, which made it easier to stomach. I also began by transferring some of the smaller folders (e.g. Books) which reassured me that the process was working correctly.
Note that the "File/Add to Library..." menu option did not work in the same way - only dragging from Finder.
After all of this, my media content inside iTunes was pretty much pristine, with all of the media located, in the correct place and with al of the artwork as expected.
Unfortunately, I had lost all of my playlists, which is something I had resigned myself to. However, I'd read elsewhere that these might be recoverable from the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file. I did a quick scan of this file and was able to locate some of my old playlists - much to my surprise (recall, this was after I had already made several attempts to recover my files, so I was expecting this to have been scrambled).
I therefore copied this file to my desktop and used the iTunes "File/Library/Import Playlist..." to see if I could recover any playlists from this file. Amazingly, they all re-appeared. Better yet, they actualy worked, despite the fact that I had moved loads of the files during the earlier housekeeping stage. A few playlists were duplicated but it was a trivial step to delete the unwanted ones.
To finish up, I re-enabled the "Copy files to media folder" - fully expecting this to take an age to move the files around. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised that nothing seemed to happen - possibly because all of the media files were already in the 'correct' location - I'm not sure on this point.
So, to finish - all of my media files are back in iTunes, all of the playlists recovered, and I've also recovered some music files and movies that I thought I'd lost. Not a bad outcome for a couple of hours work (most of which was during the initial housekeepign step).
If I had the time, it'd be nice to write a script to do the housekeeping step, but well, you know how life goes...

  • Externaldrive died with purchased items how can i redownload them on itune?

I transferred all of my movies and tv shows over to my external hard drive and deleted them from my computer to give it more space on my hard drive. My drive crashed last night and all is lost. I was wondering if somehow you can go back into purchase history or something and redownload the movies and tv shows i lost. I did pay for all of it. HELPPPP MEEEE PLEASEEEEE.

    No.
This is why maintaining a back up is so important.
You can import itunes purchases from an ipod. File>Transfer Purchases
From itunes store terms of service:

  • HT5085 I purchased the Veronica Mars movie and it shows in my purchases but I can not download the movie.  When I look at downloads it says all previously purchased items have been downloaded but the movie doesn't show in my library and it won't download

I purchased the movie Veronica Mars.  It shows in my purchases but it does not show in my library.  When I check for downloads available it says that I have downloaded all purchases in my account but this one is not there.  So frustrated with this whole system.

Does it show via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes for downloading ?

  • I pre-ordered an album, but a song was released after I pre-ordered it and it says purchased, but I can't download it.

About a week ago,I pre-ordered Prism by Katy Perry on my IPod  and she had already released Roar and Dark Horse, which downloaded. But yesterday at midnight, Walking on Air. And this morning I tried to download it, it said purchased, but I couldn't download it.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? Please let me know if you have a solution.

  • The u2 album shows as purchased but i can't find it in my library

My iTunes shows I've purchased the new U2 album but it isn't in my library.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

You should be able to download it into your computer's iTunes library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it).
Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
A third option is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.
If doing it directly on your iPhone then either turn on Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all') 'on' and it should then show with the cloud icon in the Music app for downloading, or go to the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app (can't remember whether it showed under 'Various' in Purchased on my iPad or computer's iTunes, but it correctly showed as U2 when downloaded0.
