Music Jumping in Itunes 7.02

I installed the new version of Itunes but had problems withn the music jumping and skipping so I went back to version 6 and the problem dissapeared. I tried to buy music from I-tunes and it would not let me until i upgraded to the latest version. Surely Apple should fix the version before forcing you to use it???

did you work through the following document in the course of troubleshooting your problem with 7.0.x?

  • My iPhone automatically shuffles all the music in my iTunes library.

Hi, I have a problme with my iPhone (OS 6.0.1) music app.
It automatically shuffles all the musics in my iTunes library no matter what I do. In addition, when I push the "forward skip" bottun, the music app will jump to other song, not the next song, as it likes.  This means that my music app cannot play all the albums in my ITunes Library in proper order.
I want to listen to musics in proper order.  Is there any solution to fix this problem?  Other devices are working properly.

Yes.  See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer on different ways to copy music from your iPod to your PC.

I would suggest the manual method over using 3rd party software, but the choice is entirely yours.

  • Music jumping in iDVD

When I make a slideshow in iDVD, using music from my itunes library, it always plays ok when previewing in iDVD, but when I burn it to disk it always 'jumps' at some point during the slideshow.
    Any ideas why?

How many slides are we talking about? ... is it over 99? (if so, try lowering that number to 99 or less). Long story of WHY this often happens and it has to do with the fact that most (not all) set top dvd players max out at 99 chapters. But to cut to the chase; iDvd treats each slide as a chapter and hence the 99 image (or chapter) limitation. Has little to do with iDvd itself, and lots to do with the way most players address chapter changes.

  • Music jumps

I've waited a year to get an apple TV and today I finially did, however I'm so upset with it!!
It keeps jumping my music like a CD player does to a scratched CD and I know it's not my wi-fi because I am on the faster one.
Why does it keep doing this? do I have a faulty apple TV?

You may be right about the wifi but over the years networking has consistently been the root cause of streaming glitches.
It is not necessarily speed Emma_louise_ interference can have a role interrupting connections, but as movies/video are more bandwidth intensive it's likely the speed is generally ok.
Does this happen playing music from an iTunes library via the Computers icon too?
Have you unplugged and restarted AppleTV?  Have you restarted your router and iTunes?
There is often no simple fix for these things but a question of eliminating possible causes, and yes a faulty AppleTV is a possible cause. You may wish to factory restore it via Settings>General>Reset/Restore options and set it up from scratch.  Or:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4367
Interference  from microwaves, neighbouring LANs, cordeless landline phones and so forth could affect streaming.
If you can run ethernet to AppleTV and computer temporarily it would at least eliminate wi-fi being the issue if it still did this.
    Good luck.

  • How can I share only the same music with multiple iTunes accounts

    Hello
I hope someone can help. [I am using Windows Vista (Unfortunately J) and iTunes 10]
I am trying to share the same music library with multiple iTunes accounts. Basically, I want to know if there is a way to automatically upload to other libraries when importing new music into my library, vice versa. [Better information below]
Me, my sister and my dad all use iTunes (on different iTunes accounts), and before now we used to have are own music on our own windows user. Due to many duplicates and a loss of hard drive space I have brought an external hard drive and organised all the music.
It was all going well - I first populated all the music onto my iTunes, exported the library, and then imported it on both the other users. However! Because this is only a copy of the library, when I try to import a new CD, it will not show up on there’s until I “Add File to Library”! Originally I thought about using the same library however we each have are own apps etc, that we don’t want to share.
If you need anymore information please ask!
    Matt

    Hello roaminggnome
Unfortunately the support is down at the moment, I will have a better look later. I did go though the Apple support previously, however I found nothing that worked.
The first thread I came across was “Home Sharing” however no mater what I did, it did not appear in the iTunes sharing list (I did go though the “Show Sharing Networks” support as well)
Secondly, I saw “Using A Single Library With Multiple Accounts On The Same PC” (Something like that) but all this did was let us share the same music location, if I was to rip extra music, it will not show in there library

How can I transfer music from my iTunes account to my daughters new iTunes account?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
'Tranferring' implies the change of ownership, which isn't possible.
If you mean share the content, this can be done by homesharing.

  • IPod touch will no longer sync with my music library on iTunes since restoring to factory settings

I had to restore the ipod when it locked my son out as he'd forgotten the passcode.
I have around 1000 songs in my music library on itunes. Sync all songs is checked, but it saying there are 0 songs.
I'd like to sync all songs to the ipod.  Can anyone help please?

Syncing is iTunes keeping your iTunes library (or a defined portion of the iTunes library) "in sync" (the same as) the library on your iPod.  And iTunes syncing of content generally goes in one direction only, from iTunes library on computer to the iPod.  That's why, if you want to sync it to a NEW iTunes library, iTunes is warning you that the existing library on the iPod will be replaced.
So, you cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, you can add them to your iTunes library.  Once your iTunes library is consolidated with ALL of your songs, you can sync your iPod to it.
NOTE:  If you have songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store on the iPod, you can re-download them at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.  The link to Purchased is on the iTunes Store Home screen, under QUICK LINKS.

  • Everytime i eject my ipod and reconnect it all my music is gone. and sometimes while i try adding music to it. itunes completely freezes. please help. and sometimes when i plug it back into my PC i have to rename my ipod and such

Everytime i eject my ipod and reconnect it all my music is gone. and sometimes while i try adding music to it. itunes completely freezes. please help. and sometimes when i plug it back into my PC i have to rename my ipod and such

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
    My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
    Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
If this doesn't resolve your problem, then let me know.
    Good Luck!

  • I want to bring over music from my iTunes library on iMac to an ipod touch with another apple id. please help

I want to bring over music from my iTunes library on iMac to an ipod touch with another apple id. please help. Is this possible. In former versions of itunes this was posible. I can't find the solution is iTunes 11

  • Music appears in iTunes, but not on ipod touch itself

Hi. My son got a new ipod touch about 2 weeks ago. We've set it up to automatically sync a particular folder (so he doesn't have to get ALL the music on our iTunes).
Tonight we added a few songs to his folder in iTunes and synced the ipod. In iTunes, when we click on the ipod icon and check, the songs appear in his folder, so they appear to have been transferred. However, when we eject and look in the ipod itself, the songs do not appear to be there. What makes the weirder is that when we reconnect the ipod to the computer and click on its icon in iTunes, the songs appear to be there after all.
Any thoughts as to what's going on and how to fix it? I have done a hard reset and full restore on the ipod touch; no change. I have not yet atempted to simply manually add each song (that just occurred to me).
    Thoughts?
    Thanks, Paul

Okay, figured out how to get around this. I have restrictions set to "Clean" on the ipod touch. The songs in question are "Clean" versions of, I assume, otherwise explicit songs. However, the restrictions don't seem to recognize that and are blocking them. When I change the restrictions setting on the ipod touch to "Explicit", the songs are accessible on the device.
On the computer itself, I have parental restrictions in place to prevent "explicit" songs from being downloaded, and these "clean" versions passed that bar, but apparently not for the ipod software. What's with this inconsistency? Is this a glitch? To whom should I report it? Isn't part of the point of those sanitized versions that they should be playable on devices with parental restrictions set?

  • My music from my itunes will not sync to my iphone

I recently dropped my phone in the toilet (it was in my back pocket), I purchased a new iphone (3G) unlocked and have downloaded the new IOS software on my macbook pro and iphone. My music is on my iMac and I've synced my contacts, calender and aps but my ringtones and music will not sync for some reason... I am not sure why... Can someone help me with this? I've done a software update on my imac and it says it's up to date... I can't seem to get the IOS 5 to download on my Imac... is this what I need to do in order to get my music to sync?

    Hey there 2Chainz,
It sounds like youre being prompted that there is not enough space. I would use the following article to help resolve the issue named:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1503
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • I have a Ipod touch and recently added new music to my itunes library on my laptop. When I sync with my ipod, the new music does not show up on my ipod even though the sync process seems to be working.

I have an Ipod touch and recently added new music to my Itunes library. When I sync with the library, the new music does not show up on my ipod. The sync process seems to be working and there is still plenty of space on the Ipod for new music so I'm not sure what the problem is!

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

You buy one and only one download.
As it should have been transferred to your computer when you synced, you can contact itunes support and ask for an exception.
