Music library after data recovery - ID3 tags all over the place

Hi,
For a short time there i was using my external drive as my music library, while i sorted enough space ot run it from C:
However, that didn't last long and i was asked if i wanted to reformat the drive.
Using Easeus I was able to recover the mp3s. But they're all over the place i.e songs labelled as one thing will be something else, about 70% of the time. Also some songs randomly chnage to others.
Is there any method i can use to resolve any of this, without re-doing my entire collection?
thanks for any suggestions
matt

The best option is to recover from backup, but I guess you don't have one. You can also recover from an iPod if you have one:
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9990366#9990366
Failing that, are you certain that the tags are wrong in the actual files, the tags are part of the file, so I am surprised if they were changed if you were able to recover the files successfully. It is hard to see how they could be messed up if the file is OK unless something else messed with them.
I am afraid you have a lot of work ahead of you. You might be able to use a tag editor to get tags from the internet - MP3 tag is an example, but I think the tracks need to be arranged into CDs for this to work.
There is also something called PicardTagger which is supposed to use the audio footprint of the file to identify it, but I have no experience with it myself.

  • After Beatmapping Midi drumtrack jumps all over the place

Midi speeds up and slows down while the rest of the audio tracks follow the mapped tempo. Gave up and started to use another software program, with no problems....
Is this a bug or am I missing something obvious? And yes I am contemplating to switch to another program
    Thanks

So they will not follow tempo changes?? => "MIDI notes - unless they are locked to the timeline (or locked to "SMPTE") will follow these tempo changes."
I want my midi to follow tempo changes, that is the point
When you 'reclock' material in Logic (which is what Beat Mapping does), the idea is tomake the music match the bar grid - but without chaning the tempo of the music. The tempo changes are inserted automatically in order to *not* change the tempo of the music. If what you want is only tempo changes, and not not reclocking, the solution is to insert tempo changes.
The confusion arises when MIDI and audio exist in the same project...
If you insert a tempo change in a song with a few (non-Flexed, bot "Follow Tempo") audio regions and some MIDI regions,  each of the audio regions will playbak just as they did beore  you inserted the tempo changes, because their tempo is static. The MIDI nots aren't static, and the distance between each note will vary as the tempo varies. (The same is also true for each of the static audio regions: the distance between them in the timeline will be altered if you change the tempo ).
But to avoid confusion: if you explain exactly what you want to achieve, and *** as much info as possible, I'm sure there's a solution for you (if you don't use an old version of Logic).
When you write "Midi speeds up and slows down while the rest of the audio tracks follow the mapped tempo", it's a little hard for me to understand exactly what you want. Please be as specific as possible! :-) Some people mix up Beat Mapping with Flex, or do things in the wrong order, and that will mess things up.
Also - in order to get things right, you need to start from scratch/know how to get back to where you started. Logic inserts tempo changes not only in the project files, but audio regions may also contain tempo lists, so you need to know what you are doing.

  • Screen icons all over the place after wake up?

I have found recently that sometimes after I wake my screen up after sleep that the dock is missing and my apps are all over the place and i have no home screen anymore?! Has anyone else come across this? I also found that sometimes my screen goes bright white and nothing seems to fix it apart from resetting it by holding down the home button and the screen off button. Would love to find out if this is simply a few bugs in the software and not a glitch in the phone! Thanks

  • Webpage rendering images all over the place after 8.0.X

Whenever I open a web link from the financial 'stock' application, it loads normally with small fonts as usual but when double-tabbed to magnify to full screen, two things will occur:
    1. the keyboard pops up which is very annoying
    2. images rendered all over the place in magnified full-screen mode.
Just updated to 8.0.2 and problem still persists.

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Why is my page or connection jumping all over the place after my recent update to firefox 5.0

I came back from a week away and when I got on the internet firefox had updated to 5.0 and ever since then my pages just jump all over the place Why?

    Hi Aish,
I have found the problem, but not sure where to find the solution as I'm pretty new to Adobe products.
I built another site to see if I had the same problem, this time I made it shorter to see if the length was the problem. I put in some elements and 'assets', added parallax scroll key frames, left out pretty much most other things to see if I could pin the problem down. I found that I had the exact same problem.
In the Muse preview it scrolls with the mouse like a dream when I grab the scroll bar and drag it down. But when I preview in business catalyst, export HTML or preview in browser, it goes crazy and won't let me get to the bottom. Further to that, when you scroll back to the top, everything is out of place and gets worse every time you scroll down and back to the top.
I have a touch screen computer and tried to scroll the screen with my finger rather than dragging the scroll bar down with the mouse. The website works like a dream when I scroll with my finger, even when I scroll back to the top everything stays in place and the whole site works lovely! I then tried the other, long website to see if this was the same case and it was exactly the same case. It scrolls with a finger like a dream, but has a fit when you drag down the scroll bar with a mouse.
My next question would be could I somehow disable some kind of touch scroll option in only the desktop version of the site, but leave it active in mobile and tablet sites? If I can do this can you please advise me on how to deactivate it, I think that should solve the problem.
Can you please get back to me with an answer to this? I would be very greatful!
    Marc.

  • HT203301 iPhone 4S compass 180° out and other times all over the place after ios7 update. Anybody else had this?

Since updating to iOS 7 the compass on my iPhone 4S is all over the place but mainly 180° out tried calibrating rebooting etc etc and no difference.!

Nope, i generally hate iTunes for it being annoying and incredibly "damaging" to the computer (slows my computer down a shitload when booting atleast), so I've avoided it at any costs till now. Shame apple "forces" us to use their more "******" apps in order to "guard" ourselves against stuff like this... I'll survive, the most important pics are on facebook, and the apps and contacts I can easily replace. For my part Apple has one life less when it comes to me buying another product from them.
Thanks for all the replys , i appreciate a community like this!

  • HT1926 I was prompted to install iTunes 11.1.4 this morning. It failed (first time EVER) with the comment that 'msvcr80.dll' was not available. Upon searching for that .dll in my computer, I found it to be all over the place! Thoughts?

I've NEVER had a version update fail. I did go to 'Tools' and download for a manual install of this update as the info screen suggested. It, too, failed. After searching for the 'missing' msvcr80.dll on my computer, I found it all over the place!
Ran a malware & virus scan with nothing evil popping up.
Tried going back to a restore point before a previous update and doing the install. It failed.
OS: Vista Home Premium x64, SP2 (and current with all MS updates)
Now I'm pretty nervous re: syncing with ANYTHING-especially my iPod that has all my music I teach from at work.

  • Battery all over the place

I have a three month old MBP. I often browse the forums to inform myself on what's up before it happens to me. I found out about the battery update that way, and did it. I read about the possible problems that may occur, but I am not sure my problem fits - or if it even is a problem.
My battery used to last for a really long time - 4 to 5 hrs. Now it doesn't. I usually only use my MBP for surfing and occasionally downloading music or movies from itunes (haven't done that since the bat. update tho).
After experiencing shorter and shorter up time, I decided to really keep an eye on it this morning. Last night I got the message that it was running on reserve power, (and I was too) so I plugged the power cord in and shut it down for the night. This morning I unhooked the power, started it up and the time left read 5:32 for about a second or two and then read 2:32. I used it for a few minutes, walked away - the display went to sleep - I woke it up and it read 4:50. After that I let the display sleep several times and every time I woke it up I got a different reading - all over the place. 6:xx - 3:xx -4:xx and so on. I then decided to browse this discussion area and couldn't find exactly this scenario. I have been on for about 15 minutes and the time has stayed within a range of 3:05 to 2:42. I am going to let it go into full sleep and come back to finish up this post. Oh...by the way:
    Battery Installed: Yes
    First low level warning: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5189
    Remaining Capacity (mAh): 4531
    Amperage (mA): -1494
    Voltage (mV): 11967
    Cycle Count: 37
I'm back. Time left reads 2:22 - seems normal enough for being gone about 20 minutes. Power readings:
    Battery Information:
    Battery Installed: Yes
    First low level warning: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5188
    Remaining Capacity (mAh): 3695
    Amperage (mA): -1522
    Voltage (mV): 11796
    Cycle Count: 37
But where has my battery life gone? I guess what it says now is a true reading, but since I have only had the computer unplugged from the power for about 1.5 hours, and it has been used for only about 25 minutes, isn't this a short period of life? It used to sit practically all day on battery power only being used once in a while. I am going on vacation in two weeks and I don't think this battery will even get me through one dvd movie on the plane - on a three month old computer! Any thoughts?
    sj

    Sarah,
The two cruical numbers for the estimate of the time remaining are the remaining capacity and amperage. If you divide capacity by amperage you will get the time estimate.
These values update relatively slowly - about every minute or so. This can lead to weird values when your computer changes its activity quickly.
Thus, right after you wake the computer up or reactivate the screen it is likely that the amperage will be low (because it doesn't use much power in sleep mode or with the screen off) and the time estimate will be high. Similarly, just after you unplug the computer the amperage estimate will be low (because it is just the amperage drawn from the battery). I have seen estimates of over 200 hours right after I unplug the AC. But as soon as it updates it all sorts itself out.
Your battery seems to be behaving normally and 5200mAh seems about right for a 15" MBP battery. They start at around 5500mAh and decline from there. Apple suggests that you should get around 300 cycles before it drops below 80% of initial capacity (4400mAh for the 15" MBP battery).
The number one hint for getting longer life out of your MacBook is to turn the brightness of the screen down. That is typically the biggest drain on the battery.

  • Import speed all over the place

Hi there, first time poster here.
I'm trying to import some Christmas CDs into iTunes. I've not used it for several months for a variety of reasons. When I import the CD, the speed is all over the place but typically at a ridiculous 0.1x!! It's ranged from 12.0x on down. It took many hours just to copy one CD (10 songs - average length).
I don't have a huge library of music. I have plenty of room on my laptop (Asus with Vista) and I've never had this problem with iTunes before on the same computer. If anything, the computer is running better now as I ran disk clean up, defrag, and dumped a bunch of stuff off it (nothing software related).
    Thoughts?

Just to add my IP profile since getting infinity 2 has always been 77MB down 20MB up.

  • File search - files and projects all over the place

I have not developed a standard set of scratch locations for all of my files, projects, autosaves, etc. As a result, I have media and project files all over the place on my computer and I now spend most of my time searching. I thought Bridge might help me search for and consolidate all relevant CS3 and CS4 files on all of my drives so that I can then place them into some standard scheme.
When I do a search from the file menu "find" by criteria I drop down a list of various files, but no project files from After Effects, Premiere, Audition, etc. Does Bridge have a feature that will find and move all my files?

I don't think bridge will search across different drives although have read Lightroom will.  Bridge searches from where you start your search and then goes down the  directory from there.  Since I have all my pictures on one drive can't say how that would work it other programs are below it in the directory tree.
If you have Vista is it very fast at searching.  It searchs across drives if they are all indexed.  The advanced seearch will find keywords "tags" in MS talk.

  • Why is the webpage jumping all over the place with parallax scrolling?

Hi all, I'm getting a little frustrated here... I've built a looooong (10,200 pixel) parallax scrolling site, when I click 'Preview' it plays like a dream, but when I render the HTML, view in browser or publish to business catalyst to view, it just jumps all over the place. I realise that the page is extremely long, I'm thinking it could be that but just need to clarify it before I rework it all and maybe find out after, that it was something else that was causing it to happen.
Your views would be greatly appreciated!

  • My fonts are all over the place, how do I get them back?

Recently some of pages I view in Firefox have the text scattered all over the place and makes them impossible to understand. How do I get them back to normal? I am using a 2 x 2.8Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon Mac, 12GB RAM running OSX 10.9.5 and Firefox 37.0.1. I have attached a screen shot of my Facebook Page to try and help explain my dilemma. Regards, Mal
