Music Manager 'conversion' fails/hangs
Hi
Phone: 5300
OS: WinXP SP1
Connection: USB Cable DKE-2
Connection Type: Nokia Mode
PC Suite ver: 6.84.10.3
Conversion setting: M4A, 64Kbps
Free Space on Card: 190MB
I tried to copy music to my phone with the above conversion setting. The source file is a 4.8MB MP3 (320kbps bitrate, 44kHz Sample Rate) on my Hard Disk.
Music Manager changes status to *pending* and gets stuck there for hours. There is no other visible sign of any activity. Plain transfer (non-conversion) transfer works fine. A blue, lengthening, line indicates transfer progress.
I changed the conversion setting to lower bit rates to no avail.
Would appreciate any assistance in solving this problem. Please let me know if there's any other information I can offer to resolve this issue.
Regards
Kalyan
I also have "nokia music manager hangs with pending status" problem

computer is xp sp3 Athlon 64 3000+ processor 2.0Ghz 2GB RAM

Nokia 6234 USB connection fails with Music Manager...
Have connected my 6234 with a CA-53 USB cable to my PC (using Windows XP). After many initial problems of it not being recognised it now seems to be installed and the driver also. Now I can get as far as 'copying to phone' tracks in Nokia Music Player (PC Suite v.6.8.1).
Then I get a 'connection to phone failed' every time I try to transfer the tracks. Suggests something if it's a bluetooth connection. Nothing for a cable.
Would be very grateful for any ideas. Has taken me hours to get this far.
Thanks. For clarity: use you PC Suite 6.81.13? And Nokia Music Manager (not for example Nokia Multimedia Player?)
"Suggests something if it's a bluetooth connection" this was difficult to understand, can you type exactly what is the error mesaage you are getting, also what type of music files you are transferring (MP3's? AAC? ...?) And how many at the time and are moving those to memory card or ? -
Problem with Nokia Music Manager 2.0 converting mp...
Hi everyone!
I have a problem using the Nokia Music Manager 2.0. I want to convert some mp3-files into "Mobile Optimized Format". If a start conversion it fails and says Track cannot be converted because it is already in the target format or file format is not supported. However, the files worked on my previous computer with WinXP. Now I'm using Vista Business. The conversion will always proceed to 50% and break then. I have the feelng it's a problem with the rights to write the new file. Running it with administrative rights or in compatibility mode did not either.
Can anyone provide help?
Thanks!
Toonfishi'm having the same problem... ever since nokia upgraded pc suite a few months ago, and i had to get a new version due to a problem with my computer, i can't put music onto my phone using the music manager 2.0. so i've been just copying them in their mp3 formats but of course it's alot more space that could be saved if i could have them in the AAC+ pr M4A formats.
i checked out download.com (they offer alot of free to try and free in general programs) and i searched for mp3 to m4a
i found this program " Abcc Free Music to MP3 AMR AAC OGG Converter 3 "
I downloaded it, which only took maybe 5 minutes, and then installed it (another maybe 2-3 minutes)
I'm trying the program now and.... IT WORKS.
i just converted about 6 pm3's to m4a's and it took about 3-4 minutes. try it ! -
BB Desktop Manager for PC hangs during start-up
My wife has a 2 years old HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS, at Service Pack 1 level. BB Desktop Manager for PC hangs during it's (BB Desktop's) start-up. Initially the screen with BlackBerry Desktop Manager and the BB logo appears but then it goes away and a smallish screen appears and never changes from a blank grey screen. If you mouse over the border it indicates it is not responding. She has been using this product on this PC with no major problems for several years. Looking in the Events Viewer, it seems the error first appears on 10/9/2011. Yesterday I tried to fix the issue by installing the laciest version RIM 6.1.0.36 (she was using .35) That made no difference. I have the program set to run as an Administrator and have told Norton to Trust it.
The Event log entry for the oldest such event contains the following:
The program Rim.Desktop.exe version 6.1.0.35 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: 41d4
Start Time: 01cc86f573d09df1
Termination Time: 6677
Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Desktop\Rim.Desktop.exe
Report Id: aa0d892a-f2e9-11e0-a448-002713bd2c63
Since it is necessary to either task-manager the blank window shut or to tell it to force it to close, these errors may be generated by that action.
Today I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but still no improvement. Any suggestions?I have just copied in the most recent attempt to start it. The full log is quite large

Just got my Nokia 3250 last week. Cool phone and I really wanted it to replace my old MP3 player now I have a 1GB SD card for it, but there are problems with Music Manager which make it hard to justify ebaying the ZenMicro just yet. Music Manager is only v1.0 so hopefully Nokia are still working on improving it, but here's a list of what I'd like to see.
1) All my MP3s are already ripped and stored on an external HD - I want to be able to point Music Manager at my collection and for it to be able to remember this (I know I can do this now, but the warning in the settings says not to set My Collection to the location of your main music location)
2) More stable - MM keeps hanging when converting tracks, either right at the beginning of the process or every time it encounters a track with a question mark in the title
3) Better handling of MP3 tags - once copied to the phone and refreshed, MM seems unable to show the Artist, Album and Genre of MP3s. I'm not sure if AACs or M4As have tags too, but these aren't shown either
4) Support for formats that can't handle track numbers. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the phone or the AAC/M4A format or both, but the 3250 doesn't seem to hold a track number for songs converted to these formats. This is annoying as you can't play an 'album'. If this is the case there should be an option to add a track number to the title on conversion (not just the current option to add one on ripping)
5) Higher quality conversion setting for M4A. I set the quality to the highest possible (64kbps). This results in tiny files (5MB MP3 converted to 1MB) but the quality when listening on the headphones is awful - any slightly busy track pops and whistles along. I haven't tried AAC yet due to other problems above, but I don't mind sacrificing size for better quality.
Anyone got others to add to the list?Message Edited by licenced on 18-May-2006
09:46 PMprospects for a better music manager a.k.a 2.0 or whatever they may call it...
1.better handling of tags (i agree to that; same problem). i also noticed this problem in PC suite version 6.7 with audio manager 5.0 in ripping to m4a or aac
2.more formats to choose from for ripping or transcoding purposes-i'd like to see wma and mp3
3.ability to read wma tags-after inserting my 3250, the music manager did not recognize the tags included in the wma files inside the memory card. it's bad for a app that supports such format but cannot read its tag.
4.overall stability-not only in converting tracks but also in searching for tracks because on one of my pc the app crashed after searching for all of the tracks which is a big problem!
i hope nokia's listening to this.
The world might be a better place if you were I. -

how do i solve this, please helpThis is an error due to conversion failed from character string to int datatype. Infact, the table column contains "NO" value which you are trying to convert to Int/SUM which is illegal. Without your code and table structure, its difficult to pinpoint your
actual issue. But check, all columns for value "NO". -
Music Management & iTunes??? Help Please!
I have several issues that I'm hoping someone can give me some helpful hints for. I looked through about 23 pages of forum posts, but couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for.
I have music stored all over my computer. It's in various directories & folders, rather randomly slung all over my HD. Some of it was due to a computer upgrade a couple years ago that I never bothered to clean-up properly after the move. The rest is due to just poor import/copy management.
Short of doing a labor intensive manual clean-up (i.e. creating a new master folder, copying everything into it and deleting any unwanted or duplicates) ... can iTunes still do a system search and copy it all in to one main folder? There used to be a "search system" feature, but I've yet to find it in 7.5.0. I tried using the library consolidation feature, but that accomplished exactly nothing. IIRC from another post, it was supposed to ask me where/what I wanted to consolidate. No such luck. Just a button to push that said "consolidate". That I can see, no real change was made.
My other question is ... if I do do a manual clean-up is there a method for doing a fresh re-creation of my library while keeping my playlists and podcasts intact?
I really really need a music management overhaul, but don't particularly want to spend a week doing it.
Thanks~
Kat+I did try the add a folder command ... that picked up a few, but not all.+
That could mean a couple of things. There is a known problem with Add Folder where it will sometimes fail to complete on large adds. If that is what's happening, do it in smaller batches by adding subfolders. The other thing that could be happening is incompatible files. Try to add a missing file individually using File > Add File to Library. If it does not add, there is an issue with the file.
+So that brings me to my next question. Once I get together a master folder with all my wanted songs in one place ... what is going to be the best way to rebuild my library while keeping my playlists intact?+
Once the files are in your iTunes library, do not manually move or rename anything. Use the Consolidate command. It retains play counts, playlist membership, etc.
By the way, if you haven't backed up your hard drive lately, now would be a good time to do so. -
MF60 - Pull list - TR to TO conversion fails if no inv. to pick from.
In MF60 pull list, the user is shown the requirement quantity and the component inventory in the PSA. They then set the quantities they want to be delivered and save, creating a Transfer request (TR). The TR is then converted to a Transfer Order (TO). The problem arises if there isn't sufficient inventory to pick from. The TR hangs and TO conversion fails. The user doesn't get their material and doesn't know there is a problem.
Is there a way to show IM inventory level in the Pull list selection screen in addition to the PSA inventory? I know it can be done 1 material at a time, but my users are pulling dozens of materials per pull list.
Can the pull list be modified to skip the TR and directly create a TO (I have immediate TO creation in the user global settings already) AND give the user an insufficient inventory error?
Is there a different way to solve this problem?Hi John,
In MF60 you can see the req. date, net. req. qty, available stock & missing qty, does this not meet your need?

HT5622 connection manager invoke failed to find service connection url
fixed this: CONNECTION MANAGER INVOKE FAILED TO FIND SERVICE CONNECTION URL
Okay, so I had the same problem with logging in with this error message: "itunes connection manager invoke failed to find service connection url"
I had this problem that I did not see immediately:
- unpaid app from App Store,
- and unpaid music file from a Itunes Store
and I solved it by doing the following:
I logged out of itunes store
I logged out of App store
I logged in online here in the support section
I logged back into App store
Updated my payment details (changing credit card helped...)
Logged back into iTunes store, accepted back payment for outstanding app and music file
It now logs back in. -

Insert SQL server: Conversion failed. On A environment, but not on Test.
We probably found the cause of this problem. Not that long ago we migrated the databases from SQL server 2005 to SQL server 2012. All databases are migrated now, but only the acceptance one is giving us trouble. After an extensive search we found that the connection to acceptance databases uses an other (older?) version ODBC driver. Al other environments had the same, other (newer) connection diver and they work fine. It seems that the combination of SQL server 2012 and the use of the old connection ODBC driver is causing our problem. (we saw something strange, wich seems to be related during an other run: a SQL override in a session was giving us a 'database fetch optimize' error.... But! Not on our acceptantance environment :-) )
Hi, I have a mapping which inserts (meta)data into a SQL server (2012) database. One field is 'proces_start_date' of the date/time datatype in Powercenter. In the SQL server database this field is of the datetime datatype. This mapping runs at the start of the workflow to insert an initial record in a metadata table for each session in the workflow. Therefor the 'proce's_start_date' is initialy set to 01-01-1900 with the following expression: TO_DATE('01011900','DDMMYYYY'). The weird thing is that when I run this mapping on our development or test environment, the insert is being performed without a problem. But when I run the same mapping on our acceptance environment the session fails. This error is returned: [Informatica][ODBC SQL Server Legacy Driver][SQL Server]Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string. The session log says it fail on this value of 'proces_start_date': 01/01/1900 00:00:00.000000000 Because the mapping inserts initial values, the field 'proces_start_date' will always have this value! But still it doesn't work on our A environment. I've checked the workflows/sesion/mapping/mapplet/target etc.. on T and A and there are no differences. Our DBA can't find anything different between the databases on T and A either. Also, when I try to manualy convert/insert this value of 'proces_start_date' in the database, using management studio, I get the same converion error on BOTH databases! We are a bit lost here and have no idea wheter this could be a powercenter issue or a database related issue. Hopefully someone can help us in finding a solution for this problem.

system: Vista Ultimate x64 version 6 SP2, 8gb. ram, Video ATI Radeon HD 3600.
CS6 version 13.0.1, Bridge 5.0.2.4 x64, Camera raw 7.0.0.308
When trying down load files from D7100 with Adobe photo down loader, I get this message " files successfully copied. However DNG conversion failed" Last week the "blend if" from a layer in PS would not work and gave me this "could not complete request because of system error". I tried many things to resolve issue including uninstall & reinstall (CS6) using my disc. Finally deleted custom brush set that I'd got off the web and that solved the problem. I think I need a minimum of camera raw 7.4 to work with a D7100 and a maximum camera raw 8.3 to work with Vista. Adobe appication manager has been updated and says everything is updated. Photo help menu says it running 7.0. I tried removing the content of C;\users\appdata\local\adobe\aam updater\1.0 I tried to down load directly from Adobe down load list Camera Raw (7.4 then 8.3) no change. Tried another uninstall and reinstall, still the same. I seems like I lost something in the first reinstall. You can try this camera raw 8.3 update and see if it works:

Music Manager hasmessed up Winamp etc
Hello. Whilst ransferring data from my 6630 to my N91 yesterday I updated Nokia PC Suite. Thought all was well until I came to listen to some MP3's on my computer this morning and they opened in Nokia Music Manager. Anyway, I then opened winamp manually, went to options > Preferences > File Types and clicked 'All' and to reset the file associations at Winamp startup. Now when I check the file types in Windows XP Folder Options it does show MP3 as a 'winamp file' but whenever I try to open an MP3, the system hangs and I have to close the folder window from where I opened the MP3 using the Task Manager (CTRL+Alt+Delete). Is there any option within Nokia to disable the music manager integration within windows, and if so could someone please give me some directions to do this?
Thanks very much.
Hussein.

Music Manager does not recognize my downloaded mus...
I am using Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0 for my 5310. When I use the Music Manager to scan my computer for music files, it recognizes all the songs that I have burned from my CDs, but it does not recognize any of the music that I have downloaded from iTunes. If anyone could help, that would be great. I have had so many problems with Nokia PC Suite, and this is the one thing that I can't seem to figure out on my own!
Open DTM and connect your BB via USB cable, then in desktop go to options and click on detect and look what it has there, if everything is ok go to main menu DTM and click on sync then on to config sync settings, make sure all is correct there, failing that in options you can check you setting in connections and PIN# are entered there.
When you accept a solution from anyone could you please select the appropriate box.
Also, select the appropriate Kudos box and click it for the person’s solution you accepted thank you.
