Music Manager unable to convert

I recieve a PENDING status when converting from MP3 to AAC on Music manager 1.0 that comes with N73 wonder why!?!? IT does convert from m4a or mwa to AAC fine...

Is it a protected (DRM, Digital Rights Management) WMA file? Perhaps the N73 ME doesn't support WMA files with DRM?
Does an unprotected (without DRM) WMA file work?

  • Problem with Nokia Music Manager 2.0 converting mp...

    Hi everyone!
I have a problem using the Nokia Music Manager 2.0. I want to convert some mp3-files into "Mobile Optimized Format". If a start conversion it fails and says Track cannot be converted because it is already in the target format or file format is not supported. However, the files worked on my previous computer with WinXP. Now I'm using Vista Business. The conversion will always proceed to 50% and break then. I have the feelng it's a problem with the rights to write the new file. Running it with administrative rights or in compatibility mode did not either.
    Can anyone provide help?
    Thanks!

i'm having the same problem... ever since nokia upgraded pc suite a few months ago, and i had to get a new version due to a problem with my computer, i can't put music onto my phone using the music manager 2.0. so i've been just copying them in their mp3 formats but of course it's alot more space that could be saved if i could have them in the AAC+ pr M4A formats.
i checked out download.com (they offer alot of free to try and free in general programs) and i searched for mp3 to m4a
i found this program " Abcc Free Music to MP3 AMR AAC OGG Converter 3 "
I downloaded it, which only took maybe 5 minutes, and then installed it (another maybe 2-3 minutes)
I'm trying the program now and.... IT WORKS.
i just converted about 6 pm3's to m4a's and it took about 3-4 minutes. try it !

With this upgrade I can only got 1 file converted... further more the program says: pending and it doesn't advance from there...

  • Nokia Music Manager crashes when converting MP3s

Nokia Music Manager is driving me crazy.
First of all, if i try to convert all the files together, it crashes after converting the first file.
If i try to convert each file one by one, it crashes on many of the files and i again have to search for the files and continue the conversion.
    Why so many problems?

    Hi people,
A quick update on what I've found re this issue recently.
I totally uninstalled all the PC-Suite & add-ons & then ran an app. from the nokia site called PC-Suite cleaner to get rid of all the left overs typically left behind during uninstalls. Then re-installed the latest (7.0.9.2) version from a new download.
I had noticed that immediately before the crash, Vista came up with a message that an appliocation had caused a change to the default colour scheme (????) and tracked this to Quicktime. So I installed the latest version of quicktime.
    After all this, ....
.... the problem is exactly the same and now the other (possibly related) issue of the "All music" section (containing found music from a search) disappears as soon as the OK (tick) or close (cross) button is clicked (which makes the other issue irrelevant, as there are no tracks to convert).
In the meantime, I have highlighted this issue to Nokia in one of their online surveys & plan to raise it dirrectly with customer support in the next few days.

I have similar problem but only with mp3: when I try to convert & copy them to the phone, the files go pending and stay there until i close music manager.
wma files convert to m4a and load to the phone no problem.

  • Issues with Music Manager

Just got my Nokia 3250 last week. Cool phone and I really wanted it to replace my old MP3 player now I have a 1GB SD card for it, but there are problems with Music Manager which make it hard to justify ebaying the ZenMicro just yet. Music Manager is only v1.0 so hopefully Nokia are still working on improving it, but here's a list of what I'd like to see.
    1) All my MP3s are already ripped and stored on an external HD - I want to be able to point Music Manager at my collection and for it to be able to remember this (I know I can do this now, but the warning in the settings says not to set My Collection to the location of your main music location)
    2) More stable - MM keeps hanging when converting tracks, either right at the beginning of the process or every time it encounters a track with a question mark in the title
    3) Better handling of MP3 tags - once copied to the phone and refreshed, MM seems unable to show the Artist, Album and Genre of MP3s. I'm not sure if AACs or M4As have tags too, but these aren't shown either
    4) Support for formats that can't handle track numbers. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the phone or the AAC/M4A format or both, but the 3250 doesn't seem to hold a track number for songs converted to these formats. This is annoying as you can't play an 'album'. If this is the case there should be an option to add a track number to the title on conversion (not just the current option to add one on ripping)
    5) Higher quality conversion setting for M4A. I set the quality to the highest possible (64kbps). This results in tiny files (5MB MP3 converted to 1MB) but the quality when listening on the headphones is awful - any slightly busy track pops and whistles along. I haven't tried AAC yet due to other problems above, but I don't mind sacrificing size for better quality.
Anyone got others to add to the list?Message Edited by licenced on 18-May-2006

prospects for a better music manager a.k.a 2.0 or whatever they may call it...
1.better handling of tags (i agree to that; same problem). i also noticed this problem in PC suite version 6.7 with audio manager 5.0 in ripping to m4a or aac
2.more formats to choose from for ripping or transcoding purposes-i'd like to see wma and mp3
3.ability to read wma tags-after inserting my 3250, the music manager did not recognize the tags included in the wma files inside the memory card. it's bad for a app that supports such format but cannot read its tag.
4.overall stability-not only in converting tracks but also in searching for tracks because on one of my pc the app crashed after searching for all of the tracks which is a big problem!
i hope nokia's listening to this.
The world might be a better place if you were I.

  • Installed Adobe Pro X now unable to convert PDF - Missing PDFMaker Files

    Hello,
I installed the trial version of Adobe Pro X and now I am unable to convert a Microsoft Word.doc file to .pdf.  The error message is 'Missing PDFMaker Files.  Do you want to run the installer to repair mode?'  I ran the installer, twice, with the same resulting error message.  (Am currently using Windows XP Pro along with Microsoft 2003 - and will upgrade in the new year.)  I searched this issue, and found the following:
To manage your Disabled Items list in a Microsoft Office application:
Open the Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, Publisher).
Choose Help > About [the application name].
    Click Disabled Items.
Select Adobe PDF from the list, and then click Enable.
Quit the Microsoft Office application, and then restart it.
However, there are no applications in the list, including Adobe.
    I also tried this:
If the error message continues to appear after you enable Adobe PDF, check the security level for macros in Microsoft Word:
Choose Tools > Macro > Security.
In the Security dialog, click the Security tab.
    Choose Medium or High.
    Do one of the following:
If you chose Medium, then click OK.
If you chose High, then continue with steps 5 through 7.
    Click the Trusted Publishers tab.
Check Trust all installed add-ins and templates.
    Click OK.
And Adobe is already there, so no change here.
I have uninstalled the trial version, deleted what visible remnants I could find, restarted the computer, installed the trial version again and am getting the same error message.
Is there a solution to this problem?  Or, should I just return to my Adobe Pro 7?
    Thank you in advance!
    Laura

I recently bought and installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro thinking that X Pro was compatable with Windows XP. I am unable to convert any Microsoft Office 2003 file into a PDF. I receive the same error message as above ( "Missing PDFMaker Files") and tried running it in repair mode as suggested. No change.
    I've tried this stuff:

    Click Disabled Items.
Select Adobe PDF from the list, and then click Enable.

  • Nokia Music Manager - help please

Hi, sorry if this may have been covered previously, I have looked but couldn't find anything relevant.
My problem is that I save all my music on my pc in one folder and I have about 600 tracks.
I installed Nokia Music Manager recently and now when I open my music folder I can see that approx 50 of my previously mp3 tracks are now of file type "Nokia Music Manager" and not mp3. I have tried converting them to back to mp3 using Itunes which works but in my music folder they still show as NMM.
I don't have a problem with them showing NMM in itunes as I can update my ipod fine, it's just when I want to burn an mp3 disc using Nero that it doesn't work - Nero can't find these NMM files in my music folder and it's doing my head in.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Please explain your problem more detailed.

  • Drag and drop album art in Nokia Music Manager

Hi there, I am just making my first steps with the Nokia Music Manager (NMM). After converting my music files to the m4a format I want to add the album art. There is a little field on the bottom of the screen of the NMM called "Drop graphic here" (don't no exactly the wording - I have the german version). I have tried different ways but nothing happens. What do I do wrong?
    Kind regards
    netdog63

    Hi.
Had the same problem and couldn't find anything anywhere, just stupid workarounds using wmp & itunes and **bleep**.
    Solution is very simple
You can only drag'n'drop album art onto songs which are in 'My Collection'.
So... Copy your mp3's to the 'My Collection' view and it should work.
This also enables the 'Edit' function in Nokia Music Manager which lets you edit tags aswell as album art.
    Hope this helps...

  • Nokia Music Manager shuts down immediately after o...

Hi again, the music manager still shuts down straight away even after i've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I have no idea why!
    pc suite version: version 6.83.14.1
    connectivity cable drivers: 6.83.9.0
    solution : 7.7.10.0
Right now I'm unable to upload or organise any music because it shuts down immediately.
    Thanks

Your best solution is to use some other tool to rip the music, then use File Transfer (USB mass storage) to drag and drop. It's much faster than using PC Suite.
i-Tunes allows you also to rip into AAC (m4a) and that works with N91.
I've tested WMP 9 and WMP10 (now beta testing WMP11) and they all work differently but work with N91 (both WMA and MP3 formats)
WInamp also rips into formats that are supported in N91.
If you don't want to pay for the encoder, use Audiograbber. It's great for Mp3
Is there a reason why you want to use Nokia Music Manager?

  • I cannot access music manager or connect to intern...

I have a Nokia 3606, installed PC Suite, and now when I plug my phone in, using the USB cable, suddenly the Music Manager and Connect To Internet applications turn gray and will not open! I tried to call Nokia, they said to be sure I had the version 6.83. I do! It says version 6.83.20.1, Operation System: Windows XP, Build 2600, Service Pack 2, PC Connectivity Solution Version: 1.0.3.55. I saw someone in the FAQs that said this happened to him with his CDMA device. My phone is a CDMA phone too. They answered his question by saying he needed a special CDMA version of PC Suite that could be downloaded at nokia-asia.com. I went there, typed in the code, and it didn't exist. Where is this version that I need? What else can I do? I've been dealing with this for DAYS! I bought a memory card, a USB cable, and went through a bunch of trouble just so I can use the mp3 player on my phone, and I can't download music to it now! Any help would be SOOOOOO appreciated, I am extremely frustrated!! Thanx in advance!

I have found a way to get the music to the phone, but it is a pain if you don't have your media in MP3 format so far as I can tell. So I get the files in a common directory, and can put them in created directory on the D: storage, which is your memory stick. Then I just drag and drop from Explorer directory files are in, to the phones D:\My_Music\ ***Your new music files***. Meanwhile I'm looking for a solution too. I'll get back on this one with details hopefully soon. I could use the RIPPING features for more music. I've only used a very small portion of my memory. But don't want to have to go thru the hoops to convert to a usable format. If anyone has had luck using other files in this fashion, please advise... My time is limited, so I have to fit this minor, yet annoying stuff in the mix. Thanks, John G.

  • Music manager problem

What version of Windows is being used? Windows XP Home
What Service Pack is installed? SP2
What version of PC Suite is installed? 6.84.10.3
What is the connection method, cable, bluetooth or IR? cable
the problem lies with converting mp3 files to mobile optimized formats. after copying two items to the phone, i try to convert and it works. but there is only 1 conversion process that is allowed. after which the music manager just keeps on placing a pending status on the file.
is there a way to convert files directly? before i switched to the updated version of pc suite everything was working well. now im starting to regret why i switch to this version.

nevermind, fixed it, music manager is a waste of time like trying to get an answer out of you **bleep**ing euro **bleep**
