[Music&Movies] Cannot move forward etc faster :(

Dear all,
Since I've update my BB 8520 to the last version (which is a great update), I can't move back and forward as fast as I was able to do it with music and video with the previous version, now it only jumps 1s per 1s, I have checked in most of the related options and I can't change this (maybe I've missed something?).
It is very annoying, each time I close a movie, I have to watch it from the beggining because I can't move the cursor (or it takes 2mn to move to the 5thmn of the movie..).
I hope you can help me with that,

I recently updated my iphone 3GS and now I cannot move any music from my itunes library to my iphone. I have also had to sync my iphone with my laptop as my PC that I used before no longer works.

Connect the phone to your computer
Wait for it to appear in the list on the left side of iTunes
Click once on it in that list
Look to the right and scroll down to Options - one of the checkboxes says Manually manage music and videos

I cannot move music to my library on our computer to my iPhone. I haven't done this in probably a year now but have always been able to in the past. I can see my phone on itunes and can view the library of songs on my computer but when I go to move a song it shows that circle with the line through it. I even tried right clicking on the song and adding to the iphone but no luck.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

Boot from the install disk and repair the disk and permissions.

Cannot Move the Slider in Videos/Podcasts

I cannot seem to drag and move the slider while watching a music video or podcast. The pause/play and the forward buttons work, but I cannot move freely to any part of the podcast/video or adjust the volume with the slider, almost as if there was some sort of blockade. Any ideas how to resolve this? I really appreciate any tips.

There's a weird bug in the latest version of iTunes regarding this issue. If you maximize iTunes and run it full screen, I believe you'll find that all of the video controls, including the volume slider, now work. However, if the program is minimized even slightly, the controls no longer work. I've tried this on two different Windows machine with the exact same results.

It sounds like you need to reset the administrator password on your computer. Please follow the instructions in the attached article for information on how to complete this process. The article has instructions for Snow Leopard (10.6) and earlier, but there is also a link within the article for assistance in Lion (10.7) or later.

How do I create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user

This is why I think I need to.
My computer got hit by lightening, and I may have created a new user account through netinfo rather than system preferences /accounts/+user. Mail used to open twice, but no longer. Now, Safari askes me for my keychain password twice, Spotlight can't find a folder on the computer when the search is restricted to folder and computer, though the folder is there and easyfind finds it, and when System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy has the hard drive icon added, then deleted, Spotlight still does not find anything. (Yes, everything is backed up, on CD, DVD, and online.) Microsoft Tec Support says

When you contacted us on August 8, you had requested assistance with Microsoft Office 2004, as your installation of the updates was unable to find the correct version of the software to update. After creating a New MAC User, we identified the issue to be with a corrupt MAC User account, and not a Microsoft issue. "
I believe Microsoft. So, creating a new user was easy.
But copying files uses up too much hard drive (movies, music), and may miss keychains, preferences, mail, address book, and documents. Since Spotlight no longer works, who knows what is happening. (Yes, I've repaired persmissions, and disk repair. No change). I'm using up my hard drive trying to move files to the new user. If I share files, or put them into a public folder, then delete the old user, will I still have the old user's files in the new user's account? It is not clear to me what I should be trying to do in order to create a new user, move my old files etc over, and delete old user. Thanks.
My responses will be slow, because I have to drive to town to use the internet. I've ordered a new airport which may take care of that problem. SO be patient.

I need to do the EXACT same thing, but have no idea how. Has anyone out there done this?
My situation is a tad different..this is a new Mac (and I'm a brand new Mac user). Tons of querks occur under my original account (videos won't run, Safari won't support certain plug-ins). I spent 6 hours on the phone w/ 4 different Apple Reps and nobody could fix it. A rep finally looked at my MacBook Pro in person today. He created a new account just to see if that would work and under that new account, everything works perfectly fine (no querks, can view video). He tried switching a million settings in my original account to no avail.
He said to create a new account (as he did) and move my files over to the new account and then go back to the original and delete it. How do you do this?! I can't figure it out! I've got a new account created, but of course it just has the default folders in it w/ the little red icons next to them! Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to create a new MVC website with azure cloud server. However, when creating my project/solution in visual studio I get the following error.

During the day I created several MVC projects, as a learning exercise, and it worked fine. Now it's failing every time I create a new MVC website with Azure.
Every time I created a website, I have always deleted any generated Azure sites and databases via the management portal. Currently I have no websites in Azure. Thus I don't see how I've reached a quota,
Any ideas what might be going wrong?
My subscription is pay as you go.

Hi,
It might be due to various other resources (sql DB, application insight, etc) that you may have created while deploying earlier websites, and filled up your Quota. Due to which, creating new resources would exceed the quota limit.
Check for the unused resources and clear them. It may clear the error and allow you to create new websites.
Otherwise, It should be an Account related issue than Technical issue. I suggest you contact Azure support, it is a best choice for you, Please contact support team by creating a support ticket at

I recently upgraded to Lion. Every time I start up iMovie, it asks if I want to go ahead and generate thumbnails. I say OK, then it alerts me that it cannot file the file IMG_0073.MOV. Then it says "Without this file, the movie cannot play properly." It gives me the option to either cancel or search for the movie.
I don't have the old file it's looking for. I simply want to start a fresh movie with new material but cannot get past this hump. Based on the little research I have done, some people experienced this problem because the files were in aperture at some point, which was the case for me before when I used iMovie. I have since moved forward only with iPhoto but perhaps it's hung on an old file format?
I tried taking another old movie and renamed it IMG_0073.mov to see if I could simply select it, give it what it wants and move on but it won't let me select the file for some reason. I also tried removing iMovie and downloading a fresh version but that didn't work either. My BF tried removing pfiles (I think that's what it's called? but again no luck)
Please help! I must get this assignment done for a class!

Media Encoder CS6 doesn't export any of the common formats like .MOV, .AVI, .AIFF .WAV, etc.

When I queue exports from Premiere CS6, Media Encoder totally ignores any custom export settings, and chooses some completely different system defined default settings, which I did not choose in Premiere. In previous versions Premiere would always pass the encoding settings to the Media Encoder.
Update: When I tried to import the custom settings into Adobe Media Encoder, I got an error message: "Preset could not be imported. No exporter found for this preset." Then I've realized, that AEM doesn't even have a QuickTime export format!!! Actually it offers only 4 export formats: H.264 (MP4), FLV, F4V, and MP3. Then, when I queue an export with Premiere with one of those 4 formats, then AEM would accept it. Anything else - it just wouldn't work!!! So wait - am I missing something, or I literally cannot queue any other common format exports with AEM??? I need to work with MOV, AVI, AIFF, WAV etc. files, which all aren't accepted by the Media Encoder... Or am I missing something???
This is ridiculous. I am becoming quite fed up with Premiere CS6 bundle - in 20 minutes I have found already 4 diferent features, that worked in previous versions, and work no more in CS6
I don't know how it worked in CS5.5 - anybody?

1. Open this file:
On MAC: /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS6/Adobe Media Encoder CS6.app/Contents/Resources/txt/AddExporterList.txt
On PC: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6\txt\AddExporterList.txt
2. Back it up to some other location.
3. Then delete everything from it and paste this:
# MediaCore Plugins
# AME Plugins
AudioWriter
WinMediaWriter
# AME Plugin Formats
MPEG4
H.264 Blu-ray
4. Save it, and relaunch Media Encoder - voila! It worked for me and many others.

Loop Duration on music will not move off of 00:00. Help.

I dropped a music piece into the drop well on a menu, but the Loop Duration scale does not highligt. I cannot move it off of 00:00. Therefore I cannot get the music to play. What do I need to do? Help.

If you duplicate posts it will be harder to keep track of answers. Perhaps the piece of music is incompatible with iDVD, like I said in the earlier thread.

Cannot Move Files/Folders on Desktop

One of the Mac Pros in my computer lab suddenly developed a strange behavior: I can't move any of the file or folder icons on the desktop, nor can I drag files/folders between windows or columns. They don't snap back to their original position; they won't move at all.
I can select the icons on the desktop and in windows, but cannot move them. This behavior is the same in my Admin account and a restricted student account.
I've repaired permissions with Disk Utility, and run Onyx (Optimize The System; Execute Maintenance Scripts; Clear: Application, Internet, Font and System Cache; Clean Recent and Temporary Items). I've relaunched the Finder several times, and zapped the PRAM. Restarting doesn't help.
Anyone seen this before?

A Safe Boot automatically runs Repair Disk as many times as needed to fix things. Trying to start from the Install disc gives you a kernel panic, and yet you are able to Safe Boot? I don't know what could cause this.

Well, not by the method I initially suggested, but you can using Terminal. But I see no point in doing that—you really need to fix the kernel panics.
However, as a temporary thing, try this.
Open the Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste the following into the Terminal window, one line at a time, with a return after each line:
chmod -R -N .
chmod +a "everyone deny delete" . Desktop Documents Downloads Library Movies Music Pictures Public Sites
chmod +a "`id -un` allow list,addfile,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,writesecurity,chown,file_inherit,directoryinherit" Public/Drop Box
That will fix things for the account you have logged in with. If you need to fix the other one, you must repeat while logged in to that account
