Music mysteriously deleted from Iphone

I have 5s with iOS 8.0 update. Majority of my music has been deleted from my phone. I don't understand how this could happen. I haven't deleted any data from my phone. The only thing that I've done is put restriction on my phone so that I can browse the web without being redirected to App Store. Could this be because of the update or another factor?

I'm not sure how this happened, but I can try to help you get your music back.
Music purchased from the iTunes Store can be downloaded again for free. (not available in all countries)
Music ripped from CDs or synced through iTunes have to be synced through iTunes again.

  • Certain artists' music mysteriously deleted from Macbook

Please help, and don't just tell me to Google it, because I did and I couldn't find anything helpful.
So, I don't listen to my iTunes library that much. It's probably been a few months, so I can't be entirely sure when this happened. But I just tried to play some music in iTunes and I discovered that iTunes was unable to locate some of my music. Specifically, it seems that three artists' music has been deleted from my computer. I searched in Finder for them, and they are not there at all. All of the songs by these three artists (and nothing else) have entirely disappeared. I absolutely did not delete them, because I love these three artists, and I know that they were once present on this computer because I've listened to them in iTunes on this computer before.
Some details: I'm using a Macbook Pro from 2011. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion (and this is the first time I've tried listening to iTunes since upgrading). I have an iPhone 4 on which I have most of my music (including the three missing artists, and I checked, and they play fine on the iPhone). Some of the missing music came directly from a CD, though I think most came from my external hard drive (transferred from my old computer). I don't think any of the music was bought through iTunes, so I can't get it back that way. I know that I can get it back from my hard drive or my iPhone, but I just want to know what happened. Why did exactly three artists get entirely deleted from my computer? I added pretty much all my music at the same time (except for that one CD of music, which was added later and is also missing), even stuff that isn't missing. I doubt that it was a problem with syncing to the iPhone, because most of the music I have is still present on both devices, and anyway I haven't tried to sync my iPhone music in ages.
If anyone can just tell me why this happened and how I can avoid it in the future, that's all I want. I know I can fix it, even though it might be a pain in the ***. I'm just so mad, and I want answers. If you need more info, just ask.
    Thanks.

  • Music randomly deletes from iPhone music library?

I currently have an iPhone 6, and I have quite a few downloaded albums. However, once and a while I will notice some of my songs or a whole album have disappeared. They are not gone, the way I have to get them back is from going into the purchased music on iTunes. I would like to prevent this. I do share the apple ID account with three other people.

Music is also disappearing from my itunes library and the above does not resolve my issues.
Firstly I forgot the password for my original itunes username 10 years ago so set up a new one then.  All the music I bought from the first login name has now gone - how do I get it back?  Secondly albums that I have bought / been given have disappeared - itunes now says it cannot locate original file and sends me to old itunes libraries which, when I click on them, don't seem to work.  I am very upset as the first album my son bought me has now disappeared and I want it back!
    Can anyone help?

    Not possible.
Either unselect it during what it syncs, or manually manage > delete song.

  • How to download all data (music.contacts, apps) from iPhone to a new PC ?

How to download all data (music.contacts, apps) from iPhone to a new PC ?
I mean to say that I downloaded mp3 songs from websites (not from iTunes) which I synced in my iPhone 4 using ''Manaually Manage Music''.
Now I am in my homecountry for vacations and don't have the laptop in which my iTune library is synced and I need to add more songs to my iPhone but when I put more songs to my iPhone it tells me that all current data from iPhone will be deleted.
    Please help!

The iphone is not a backup device.  The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases.
" I need to add more songs to my iPhone but when I put more songs to my iPhone it tells me that all current data from iPhone will be deleted."
    That is correct.

Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.
    1.  You don't need to.
    2.  Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
    3.  Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
    4.  It restricts it to Wifi.  If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
    5.  Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
    6.  The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say.  It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though.

  • Can emails be bulk deleted from Iphone 4s or does each have to be marked individually then deleted.  Trash can be bulk deleted.

Can emails be bulk deleted from Iphone 4s or does each have to be marked individually then deleted.  Trash can be bulk deleted.

    Each has to be deleted.
But it can go faster if the iPhone is held in the horizontal position, then on the left side listing tap Edit in the upper raight bar of that pane, and just tap each email to be deleted, then when you have a batch to delete, tap delete at the bottom left.  That is the fastest way I have found.

I am having the same problems as this person. I see that someone said there is no way to retrieve the pictures once it gets stuck in recovery mode.
Then further along someone said that there are data retrieval methods except they have something to do with jail breaking a phone.
My phone is already jail broken. It was kind of a gift from the company I work for- it was a fellow employees before. He jail broke it and then it was given to me. After I got it I activated the 4 and tried to back up everything. It didn't work and "Springboard" forced the phone into safety mode. So I could use it with the old dude's apps and my contacts. I made the mistake of using the phone for wedding dress shopping with a friend. I took tons of pictures.
After this I found out the messages I was seeing meant it was jail broken. At&t said to force restore the phone - iTunes wouldn't recognize it in safety mode. I'm an idiot and didn't realize what this meant for my pictures. It didn't work (error 1611) - thankfully. Now it is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes icon and USB cable picture).
Can I access that media in any way? It never suceeded restoring itself so is it still there? The phone is jail broken already so is there a method I can use?

how to transfer music and pictures from iphone to computer

If the music was purchased from iTunes then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer). If the music came from other sources and you don't have a copy of them anywhere else, then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which might be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For photos taken with the phone then on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard, and on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture : copying photos. To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

syncing my iphone 3gs with exchange server 2007.  Is there a way to delete from iphone, without it deleting from my outlook ?

iCloud does not sync which apps are installed on each device. Deleting an app off of one device has no effect on the others.
