Music not appearing.

Hey. I've gone to listen to some music on my iPhone on the way home from work today, and it's said there is no music on it. I've come home and connected it to iTunes, and again, it says there is no music on it. However the 7GB+ of music that was on my iPhone, is still taking up space, current classed as simply Other. I've tried adding some more music onto my phone, and the new music shows up, and works fine, but the old stuff is still missing.
I've turned the phone off and on again, and done everything I can think of, but still nothing. Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this? Even if the solution is just a way to delete the other 7GB of music that no longer shows, and adding it all back on again. It's better than having half of my phones memory just useless.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

As for the restore, I clicked to do that, and it says that it WILL wipe off all my data and settings from the phone.
Yes, a Restore will do that. That's the whole point. But, after the Restore, the settings and content will all be reloaded from the backup and iTunes, respectively, provided you opt to set the phone up using the backup when offered the option.
Does anybody else have any other suggestions?
You could chuck the phone in the bin. Seriously, do the Restore - that's the only way, and you won't lose your settings/content.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Music not appearing on mini ipod

I bought my mini ipod 2 weeks ago. I loaded one set of music on it fine, but now i've updated my itunes library and am trying to transfer the rest of the music to my mini ipod. When I connect my ipod to the computer(it's set on automatic, but I've tried manual too to no effect) it says its updating music (takes about 45 mins) The updated music is appearing under the ipod in itunes, but it doesn't appear on the actual ipod. I've tried resetting the ipod, restarting my computer, using different USB2 ports etc but nothing works. Can anyone please help?

    Try this;
Go to SETTINGS > MAIN MENU > MUSIC and set it to ON. Then, hit the MENU button several times to get back to the main menu & see if it's there.
You can control what appears in the main menu in this settings menu. Apparently, your ;music' option has been turned off.

  • IPad - music not appearing under album or artist tab

I have just purchased a new iPad. I can access the videos and music on my computer on iTunes via home sharing. However regarding music, tracks only appear under the songs tab. Nothing under album or artists. 3000+ albums and nothing, yet all the songs accessible under the songs tab. I am running ios6 on the iPad and iTunes 10.7 on the pc. I have seen a couple of posts with the same issue but with no conclusive solution. Can anyone help?

I have done nothing different, all of a sudden some of my albums and artists are appearing, not all just some. Can anyone help?

  • Music not appearing on iPhone 4!

    Hey guys,
So after syncing some new music (manually managed) onto my iPhone from my MBP, my iPhone completely lost of the its music. The songs (including the ones I just synced) appear just fine in the iPhone tab on iTunes, yet in the iPod app and in the Settings->General->About section the iPhone's telling me there's nothing there. I updated the iPhone to 4.0.2 but that didn't seem to do the trick. Any help?
TL;DR: My iPhone music is showing up in iTunes but not on the phone.

This is an ongoing issue for at least a year now I think. Something somewhere is causing the internal database to get corrupt on the device itself and you have to force a rebuild. Sometimes I go for a couple of weeks without a problem and sometimes it's everytime I synch for several days running.
What I do to correct it.
After I do my initial daily backup and synch, while the phone is still docked, I activate the iPod App on the phone. If it shows my contend (music/books/podcasts/etc), I undock and go about my day.
If it shows an "empty" device, I manually either add a song to the phone from my library, or go into the iphone music tab in itune and delete a song from the device. I have one specfic song I do for this only for simplicity. If it's noton the device, I add it, if it is, I delete it.
After the add or delete action and the synch activity has stopped, I relaunch the iPod application and it will say something along the lines of rebulding my library, this may take a few minutes.
After it's finished, all my content is once more displayed. I do all of this while still docked only to save time.
    Hope this helps

  • Why does some of my music not appear in my music app on the iPhone but I can search and play it through iPhone search?

A few albums and songs are in my iPhone 4S but don't appear in my music app, to play them, I must search for it using search iPhone

This seems like a very innocent post, but in digging more on the problem I've also seen this (some music recopies with every sync) with 9.1.1 level code. Apple Software Update said my system was fine, and iTunes itself also said it was up to date. However the reported code level is 9.1.1.11 rather than 9.1.1.12. After I manually downloaded and installed the most current .12 version, on 2 different machines btw, I noticed that the library needed to be updated yet again. Let me tell you that on a 1TB library this takes a long long time.
After another re-copy cycle, and did some more sync tests and this time I'm not getting the re-copy to happen, so the problem appears to be cleared up.
Again, issues like this are magnified significantly on systems with very large library.

  • Nike+ music not appearing on iPhone

    Hi,
I have a brand new iPhone 3GS. I also bought a Nike+ Sensor to go with it. Great. So, I have just bought the A+trak Running Man Nike+ track from the iTunes Store. When I copy it over in iTunes, the track appears on the iPhone in iTunes (on my Mac), but when I go on to the iPod on the iPhone, I can't find it. I have tried every possible combination, spotlight searched, everything, but cannot see it.
The track comes with a video of A-Trak talking about the mix. This appears, but the music track doesn't. Can anyone help me find it!??
    Cheers,
    Simon

What do you mean "synced specially", I'm having the same problem with the continuous track from Sport Music albums not syncing.

  • Music not appearing in iTunes

I had to reinstall Windows XP on my son's computer and he uses Carbonite (online backup) thus his music files were backed up so I reinstalled iTunes then had Carbonite restore the iTunes Music folder containing his music files. His iTunes shows a file path of C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music. After restoring the iTunes Music folder I went into iTunes and made sure both "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" were checked not sure if both were checked before restoring the folder or not.
Okay now when I open iTunes none of the songs are there although if I go to the iTunes Music folder they are and if I click on a song it will appear and play in iTunes.
I'm not exactly sure what happened when the iTune songs were restored to his computer but there has to be a simpler way to get all the songs into iTunes than click on each song in the iTunes Music folder doesn't there?
Since the songs are not showing up in iTunes has he lost his Playlists or can I get them back?

Did Carbonite also make backups of the itunes database file?
    iTunesLibrary.itl
It is located one folder up from the itunes music folder
    C:\Documents and Settings\name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes
It holds all the ratings, playcounts, etc. If there are no backups, you will have to drag the entire itunes music folder back into teh itunes window and start over.
Here is a good background article on the iTunes database vs iTunes content
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive
In a way, you transferred your library to a new PC - the reinstalled XP ssytem.

  • Music not appearing in iTunes library

This is my last hope before I throw everything out of the window ....
    I have windows 7 and an old iPod Classic - never had issues before, but last 2 days I cannot transfer any music to the library and put on iPod. I have trawled through these posts, and;
    Chosen manual sync
    Turned off iTunes Match
    Tried to drag files
Tried to put them on desktop them drag
Tried dragging fro, c drive directly to iPod that shows up in 'my computer'
Tried adding to library cntrl + o
Tried deleting whole library and iPod - then move it all back - this just moved all the 'old' files, but none of the new music
It just doesn't even seem to respond and do anything - then sometimes it says it's already there and do I want to 'replace' I choose yes, and it still doesn't show in the library!
It's all on my desktop and is normally a simple task of dragging them over to iTunes, but for some reason iTunes is having none of it.
Please help as this is driving me insane .....

So, the current problem is not related to the iPod, is that correct?  The iPod is not part of the problem.  The problem is that you cannot add songs to your iTunes library.
    Turned off iTunes Match
That should not matter for adding new songs.
    Tried to drag files
Tried to put them on desktop them drag
That should work.  If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not showing, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  In the sidebar, select Music under LIBRARY.  Show your iTunes music library as a regular list of Songs.  When you drag the files, drag them to that list.
Tried dragging fro, c drive directly to iPod that shows up in 'my computer'
That will never work to load content to an iPod or into iTunes.
Tried adding to library cntrl + o
That should work.  In the dialog box for selecting what to add, are you able to select the song files.  If you are trying to add a song file format that is not compatible with iTunes, it will not work (and the other methods will not work either).
Tried deleting whole library and iPod - then move it all back - this just moved all the 'old' files, but none of the new music
This may indicate that the new music song files are not a format that iTunes can play (or import).  This document provides a list of compatible file formats

  • Music not appearing on iphone

I Purchased Goldfish - Organic House but the album Only shows 1 song out of 22 In the artists section on Iphone5s on IOS8. When selecting the albums tab the album doesnt exist. When i type in Goldfish in the search tab in the artist section all the songs apear but not sorted as on itunes when i purchased it. Can anybody give a fix to this?

  • Music not appearing in iPod, but the data is there

I have a 30G 5thGen iPod. Had it for almost a year. Updated the firmware when it came out recently (a week or two ago). It's been working okay, but just today, when I hooked it up to my iMac, message popped up at the iTunes interface asking me to name the iPod etc -- like you'd do when you first get the iPod. Now the music and videos are not showing up (I can see the photos, games, etc, but no music at all -- no artists, songs, playlists, albums. Clock is screwed up as well). I go into 'Music/Artist" etc, and there's just nothing there. But the amount of data on the iPod is unchanged. The bar that shows the % of storage (Music-Videos-Photos, etc) is just solid orange, 'Other'.
So the data is there. The music and vidoes must be there. Why aren't they showing up in the iPod's screen?
I went through the steps: tried resetting it several times. Tried a new USB port. Tried resetting the iPod with the USB power adapter. Tried restarting my iMac. I have the latest software. I guess the next step is to do a 'Restore', which I was hoping to avoid.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there something else I can try before I do a Restore?
    Thanks very much.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

It's just that I manage the iPod content manually, so I'll have to reload the music again manually. Kind of a pain that I'd prefer to avoid unless absolutely necessary.

  • Family Sharing: Shared music not appearing

All of our music has been purchased using my account (say: [email protected]). My wife has historically used my iTunes account for her phone.
I set up family sharing on my iPad/iPhone/Mac+iTunes, and added my wife (say: [email protected]).
She accepted, and I can see her as a member of the family sharing setup.
On her iPhone she selected Settings | iCloud | Family | <her name>, and enabled "Share My Purchases".
    I have done the same.
So in theory, using her iCloud account ([email protected]), she should see all my music, and I should see anything she buys.
I log in to iTunes on my mac (running Yosemite, fully up to date). iTunes is logged in to my account. I select
"iTunes Store", then from the account drop down on the right, I select "Family Purchases".
Here is where things go wrong. She recently purchased an album by "Mumford & Sons" using her account ([email protected]).
When I select my name next to "Purchased", and select "All", I see my music purchases.
When I select her name next to "Purchased", and select "All", I see my music purchases.
I do *not* see her purchase. When I select "Not In My Library", I see nothing (well... actually that U2 album. 'nuff said).
    In summary:
iOS 8.0.2, Yosemite (up to date).
Joined wife to "Family Sharing". All checks out on iPhones settings.
iTunes does not let me see or download an album she purchased.
Is this new Family Sharing system working properly for anyone, or am I doing this wrong?
I'd like to get it sorted before I add all the kids.
    Thank you.
    Paul

I haven't seen any replies, so I thought I'd raise it again to see if anyone is successfully using
Family Sharing. If so... can they describe how they set it up?
    Specifically:
Under ITunes | Family Purchases | <user>, do they correctly see the purchases for each user
Can everyone in the family see the purchases of others, even if they were made before family sharing was set up?
Do you need to authorise every device in the Family to play the music from every account?
Many thanks for any advice you can give on this.
I've also emailed apple support directly and got nothing back for a week.
    Cheers.

  • Music not appearing, apps won't launch

On my 'about' page, it shows that my music is there, but it still says there are zero songs. (here's a picture - http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jQBQHQIg2r8/SK3HmSeKcQI/AAAAAAAAAX4/nqluq5W-hZo/S1600- R/iPhone-95.png)
My apps also won't open. I click on them, they open for a couple of seconds, and then I get back to the screen. I have restored it twice and reset it many more times. Help!
Now nothing will open, not even mail or safari! I'm restoring it again...

I have a solution, one that worked for me. Along with 3 hour backups, I suffered the deletion of all my iPod (both audio and video) and photo content, as well as experiencing crashes of all 3rd party apps (including Apple's own Remote app) within 2 seconds of launch. My iPhone 3G is rock solid now - I have experienced no issues since last Saturday (when I implemented my solution) and was able to upgrade to firmware 2.0.2 without incident. Here are the steps I followed:
    1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac (or PC), but stop the sync.
    2. Click on the Applications tab and de-select every app. This will force deletion of all your apps from your iPhone on the next sync.
    3. Disconnect, then reconnect the sync cable to your iPhone. Do NOT sop this sync. The backup should last less than two minutes if you were in the boat as myself (no iPod content at all). This backup, in any case, should not last very long.
    4. Next, add all desired content by checking the appropriate boxes. Depending on the amount of desired media, his may take a bit of time.
    5. Next, repeat step 3. The backup should take a bit longer, as you're now backing up the initial state of your recently-installed apps.
    6. You should be good at this point. I repeated step 3 one last time, and that backup as well as all subsequent backups, have all been less than two minutes. Additionally, I have experienced no additional issues and my iPhone 3G has been rock solid.
Apparently, iPhone firmware 2.0.1 caused corruption with respect to DRM applied to apps. The DRM for any apps installed with either firmware 2.0 or 2.0.1 eventually got corrupted, but a complete deletion and reinstall resolved that issue. Apparently this issue continued on to firmware 2.0.2, but the steps I provided above will still work under 2.0.2.

  • Music: Artists tab, music not appearing correctly under the artists.

In the artists tab, for example, when opening John Mayer, the songs that appear are the ones from Coldplay. Since iOS 8, many bugs make it hard to use the iPad, AirPlay is gone, even the keyboard lags when you are typing.

I had the same problem.  Everything was OK before iOS8 upgrade.  I am seeing this behavior on my iPhone, iPad and iPod.  This is along with a bunch of other software issues related to iOS 8.

  • Music not appearing in the correct place

Hi all - HELP!!!  I treated myself to a nice new iTouch 5th Gen (32gb) & all is ok sort of.  I've sync'd stuff from iTunes to the new device but, I have several albums which dont appear under the "artist" viewin the iTouch as they should but, they do show in iTunes correctly eg disc 1 will show on the itouch under the artist but disc 2 etc will show under "Albums".
    Any ideas/pointers?
    Thanks!!!
    Simon

IDimager allows the user to change (almost) everything, including infos for any XMP scheme. So, I deleted the "1.0" in the URI for Iptc4xmpExt:Event, re-assign the affected photos and now, when opening one of these photos in Photoshop, the tag Event is at the right place : in IPTC Extension, box Event (of course...)
    Thank you for the help.
