Help...Music not coming from speakers. The bar is moving indicating song playing but no sound. Can any one help?

Audio not coming out both external speakers on Lenovo Horizon All-in-one

I have just received my Lenovo Horizon 27 inch all-in-one pc and I've noticed a problem with the audio. When I plug in my external speakers I only get audio out of the left channel. I noticed another person with the same problem posted to the forums some time back but the Lenovo tech never got back to him with a solution so I'm really hoping I'll have better luck.
The sound comes out propperly when headphones are plugged in but my speakers only output a single chanel of audio. The speakers work fine on other PCs. As was suggested in the other thread, I compared the headphone jack and the speaker jack and they are identical. Same number of stripes, same length, and I believe the same girth.

Okay, so I called Lenovo support and as always, they were polite but their solution was that it was a software issue and I needed to restore my computer, so not very good advice but often given by every tech support. It's like cutting off your hand because you have a cuiticle.
Anyway, so in all the sitting and waiting I had a thought come back about when I used to manage a computer store that sold Macs. Apple, when they released the Macbook Air, tried to squeeze so much into the tiny case that there were a million problems with the device one of which was that some headphones and speakers worked fine (namely ones made by Apple, go figure) and others wouldn't work at all. It was a design flaw related to have very low tollerances for minor differences in the headphone jacks length et al.
So I used an extension audio cable with my speakers and it works fine now. So the answer is that there is a design flaw in the Lenovo Horizion related to the effort to squeeze so much into the thin device which lowers the devices tollerance for variations in the size and shape of the headphone plug. I hope this helps someone else since the solution is simple and if it had been in a database it would have saved a lot of time for me and the techs. Not complaining, just wanting to put this information out there for others who might be experiencing the same sort of problems.

Did a restore from icloud back up and pictures and music not coming back?

Replaced an iphone5 over the weekend and syncd via the cloud before doin this. When we got home I updated to IOS7 as well. only about 160 of the 3,000 plus pictures on the phone have come back after 3 days? does it really take that long? it also no longer says downloading in the phone album. HELP! have very upset daughter right now!.

In the settings apps click icloud then you will see iCloud backups.

VFL Speaker sound from both the front speakers while FR sound is not coming out at all.

I have a creative gigaworks s750 connected to a xtreme gamer sound card. The system was working absolutely fine but now it has started behaving very strangely; system is playing back Front Left Speaker sound from both the front speakers while Front Right sound is not coming out at all. If i click the front right speaker in audio console speaker setup wizard, no sound comes. However when i click the front left speaker, sound comes out of both speakers. I counter checked it with playing 5.1 dts movie and muting all the speakers except the front left one from ac3 filter, sound came out of both the front speakers. However when i muted all the channel except the front right, no sound was coming out of front right speaker.

Just want to add another relieved reader of this thread. I had lost the sound to my speakers even though I had sound to headphones. I was convinced it was a damaged headphone jack because I had pushed the headphone plug in harder the last evening when my wife complained that she could still hear the speakers while I listened with the headphones. The next morning--no speaker sound.
I spent a few hours searching the web to see how to disassemble a satellite A505 and get to the jack. But I wasn't even sure I could get a proper replacement jack that fit, and I was concerned that small damage, say to the ribbon connectors could render the computer useless--a large price to pay for just missing audio.
Fortunately, I stumbled onto this thread and I recalled I had put the unit to sleep the night before--something I don't usually do, but I didn't want all the Chrome web sites to have to reload so I just put it to sleep.
When I put it to sleep again and fired it up--Sound! I am so glad to find this solution so I just want to let people know it remains a viable option.

Audigy RX - 5.1 Not Coming Out All Speakers In Media Player Etc & S/PDIF Question?

Okay, So 5.1 is configured, seems to work when playing games, but for some reason it isn't coming out all the speakers (just the front) when playing music like in Media Player etc, I've looked on the net and seen other people with the same probs, but no resolve for me. Some people mentioned about 'Speaker Fill' but my Audigy RX doesn't even have that option. Any idea? Pretty annoying as the 5.1 is definitely setup.
Secondly, how do you enable S/PDIF? I try testing it, but nothing comes out the centre speaker, or no sound period. It's ironic too, as when I am playing a movie in PowerDVD, 6 speakers it comes out the middle, but change to S/PDIF, there's nothing there. Anyone help out?

Hi, solved the problem. I also noticed that when isntalling itunes, quicktime never installed. So i installed quicktime manually and thats when the problems started. I mangaed to solve the problem by deleteing every trace of quicktime, and installing quicktime 6, then reinstalling quicktime7. Problem solved.

On your phone, go to settings> App Store and iTunes> Turn on Automatic downloads for Music. This should cause music purchases made on other devices to be downloaded automatically to phone.

Sound is not coming out of speakers, but headphones work?

I have a Satellite L505-S5990 laptop. Today while I was sitting at home browsing the Internet, I realized there was no sound coming out of the speakers. It was working just fine minutes before. It was sitting on the counter the entire time and it just silently stopped working.
So I grabbed some headphones and plugged them in and they worked.
I restarted the computer, still no sound coming from speakers.
Windows 7 found no problems while troubleshooting the sound.
I downloaded the Automated Troubleshooting Services to diagnose and fix sound playback issues from Microsoft but that didn't find any issues.
I uninstalled the sound driver and installed the one that came with this laptop. I still get the same result. No sound from speakers but headphones work.
Can anyone please tell me how to fix this?

TS1286 MY MUSIC WILL PLAY THROUGH THE IPOD BUT NOT THROUGH ANY DOCKING STATION SPEAKERS. IT USED TO, BUT JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED.

My music will play through my ipod speakers, but it won't work through docking station speakers. It used to but then just suddenly stopped. Can anyone help??

I just had this problem tonight and here is what worked: Go to Settings; General; Software Update; and update to the new iOS: 6.0.1. It worked for me, hope it works for you!

Sound Not Coming Through Speakers

I'm trying to watch a video on a Youtube style website, but the sound isn't coming through my external speakers, it's coming through the internal one in my tower. All other sounds (iTunes, Quicktime, etc) come through fine. I experienced this problem a long time ago, and it was eventually solved, though I don't remember what I did (or if I did anything at all). So far I've restarted the computer and made sure the correct speakers were selected in the system preferences. Where should I go from here?

The audio hardware can be set to various sample rates. There are several ways applications can deal with this:
A) output sound at whatever the sample rate setting is.
B) produce no output if it can't handle the current setting.
C) change the setting to something that will work, but reset it to the original when finished.
D) change the setting, and don't reset it when finished.
Type A and C applications won't cause problems, but if you use a type D application that uses an unusual setting, followed by a type B that can't use that setting, you will get no sound. Garage Band is a type D application that uses normal sample rate, and running it will often fix sound problems, but the Audio MIDI Setup Utility gives more control.

I'm unable to play music or podcasts using the iphone4 speakers.

I tried all the things that I read on other threads isuggested as well and I still cannot get the volume buttons to work when I try to play music or podcasts. I read a post on another site where someone suggested the phone is "stuck" or confused and is in Doc mode. For example, I am trying to play music right now and my phone thinks it's playing and the source selected is "Doc Connector" (my other option is Apple TV). I know there is not a problem with the speakers or the buttons themselves because I can play a voice memo using the phone speakers and the volume buttons work. Thanks.

Why are certain channels not coming out of the master when they are playing?

the sound isnt coming out of the speakers, headphones or not and the bar which shows when its playing, moves in time with what should be playing. why wont it play outloud?

Noise coming out of Airport Speakers once Airfoil installed

Hiya,
I installed Airfoil and Reemote Server today in order to make all the audio work with my Aiport speakers.
It worked fine through Safari for about 10 mins and then I started getting this white noise sound coming out of the speakers.
I am trying to figure out why.
It stills plays whatever it is (mixcloud, youtube ) but one the top of the noise.
It works fine from my Iphone Itunes but the problem is from my Mac.
Any help?

On the Airfoil for Mac site, it says that the demo will work fine for 10 minutes and then it will generate noise over the music. The license for the software is $25.

Music wont play through my phones speakers, only through my headphones, it was working fine just the other day, I am not sure what to do. I downloaded the new IOS 6.1 and that is the only thing that I have done differently.

And it doesn't even show a soundbar either
