Music not showing up in iPod

My wife & I both have 30GB iPods. She has been managing her's from her computer, I've been managing mine from mine.
Recently she wanted some music I had already ripped to my computer. I hooked up her iPod, everything looked fine, I copied the music, all her music (& the new tunes) appeared in iTunes under the device just fine. I also copied several podcasts at the same time. But once her iPod was diconnected and she tries to use it, no music shows up on her iPod. When she goes to "music", it's as though she selected "podcasts"; it looks the same and she can't find any music on her iPod.
Does anyone know what's happening & how to resolve this?

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.

  • Music not showing up on iPod screen

My iPod classic 80 freezes every now and then, and I can reset it to get it moving again, it's just all the options on my main screen except "Settings" disappears. My music is still in the iPod, b/c I can press "Play" and it starts playing my music in order of artist.
I have followed the 5R's and doing this brings the options back, but as soon as my iPod freezes again, and I reset it manually it's the same shenanigans. I am not always at my computer and I would like to be able to reset it without it doing this.

    Are you referring to this?

  • Music not showing up on ipod, but memory is used up

i have a 4G nano, and when i plug it into itunes it shows that there isn't any music on my ipod, but it reads that all the memory is used up. do i need to reset or restore to original settings?

Yes, definetely try restoring your iPod using your iPod Updater. Check this link out:
    Restoring iPod to Factory Settings.
Restoring will delete all the music off your iPod, but will not affect the iTunes library.
If you have any issues with restoring your iPod, just tell me, and I'll try to help you.

  • Music not showing up on Ipod

All of my music shows up under the music tab in my device on itunes, but when I click the music tab on my ipod itself, it says I have no music. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it?
I know my music isn't deleted, because I can plug my ipod into someone elses computer and my songs will still show up and play under my device on their itunes.
Why won't they show up on my ipod?

To all of you guys who has this problem, just update your iTunes to the recent version then sync your "iDevice".
This works for me. Aside from my music files, my movie files doesn't show up also (I'm not sure with the pics, coz I don't have photos saved on my device). I almost tried to restore my device, but luckily I followed mohsrocks7's link and It worked for me.

  • Sync'd Music not showing up on iPod.

I have an iPod nano 3rd generation and the latest version of itunes. I recently imported a couple of cd's and then sync'd them to my iPod. When my itunes window is open, and my iPod is connected and I go and see what is on my iPod, it shows that all of the songs in my library are on it. However, that isn't the case, 2 of the cd's that I had recently imported did not transfer over... but 1 did. (that's 1 out of 3). I have the memory for the songs... they just aren't showing up on the iPod itself when itunes says it is on the iPod. Any ideas?

Check the option on your itunes where it asks you to conver higher bit rate to 128. This should be disabled.

    Hello there Jameskuo47,
In researching the issue you are experiencing I found an article that should help get your iTunes Match content to your iPhone. The name of the article is iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match and you can find it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4913.
    This section specifically:
To add an iOS device to iTunes Match
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Music.
    Note:
iTunes Match requires iOS 5.0.1 or later; you can find the
    latest iOS software here'
Tap the iTunes Match switch to On.To access your music in iCloud, open the Music Player app on your device.
Your music in iCloud will be integrated into your local music library. A download button will appear to the right of any content that you have in iCloud that doesn't already exist on your device.
    Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
By default, when adding an iOS device to iTunes Match, downloading over a cellular network is enabled1. To disable downloading over cellular for iTunes Match, choose Settings > Music > Use Cellular Data > Off.
    All the best,
    Sterling

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

    Hello ThisIssue
Check out the troubleshooting assistant in the first article below. It will walk you through a few simple steps like restarting your iPod nano and changing ports on your Mac. Another troubleshooting option is to put your iPod nano into disk mode and then plug it in and see if iTunes recognizes it to be restored.

  • Artwork Not Showing Up on iPod but iTunes

I have the newest version of iTunes, and all of the artwork to albums I have added after the upgrade shows up in iTunes, but not physically on my iPod, what can I do?

click on your iPod in source, click the music tab and put a check in "display album artwork on iPod". If it's already selected, deselect it and hit apply. Then recheck it hit apply again. Then sync your iPod again.

  • Audiobooks not showing up in iPod tab when searching

So, I have this problem with some audiobooks. If I connect my 5th generation iPod 60GB to iTunes, it shows up as normal. I then select the iPod, and I try to search on a specific artist (Or writer if you will) in the search field on the right. But, most of my audiobooks artist does not show up, so I can select them single handedly.
I have some older audiobooks that shows up just fine, but not all the newer ones.
If I select to sync my entire Audiobook collection, or create playlists and throw the seperate audiobooks in there, they sync just fine.
I would just like to be able to select an artist in the search field and get it to sync though. Of course all of audiobooks are marked correctly with tags and mediatype.
    Any thoughts?

I think this has been covered in several posts (search under "audiobooks"). Basically, even the stuff you download from iTunes Store is not always formatted correctly for your iPod to place in the correct spot.
Downloaded books show up in iTunes under Audiobooks, but not on your iPod under the same. Close iTunes. From windows explorer, find the audiobook in your My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music folder and change the extension on the file from .m4p or .m4a to .m4b and then relaunch iTunes. Find the audiobook and play it for a few seconds so iTunes properly recognizes the file. Make sure that it is listed under the genre "Audiobooks" - if that genre is not available, pick custom and create it. Right-click the file and pick info, then options and make sure that the buttons for replaying from last position and skipping during mix play are selected. Re-synch and it should show up on your iPod under Music->Audiobooks.
Books that you import from CDs have to be manually configured to show up as Audiobooks - again, details can be found by searching these forums.

  • Podcasts in itunes but not showing up in ipod

Have recently moved my music to an external drive. When I open itunes now, it shows that my podcasts are there, and I can play them in itunes, but they are not syncing into my ipod, which is blank when I navigate to the podcasts submenu in the ipod itself.
    Wish I understood. Need help!

I am having the same problem. My podcasts are there and then as soon as I add new music my podcasts disappear. It did not do this until the last itunes update I think there is a bug here. I think a patch should be in order.

  • Songs not showing up in iPod...

Hello, I was hoping I could get some help here.
I dowlnoaded 3 new songs to itunes (from a folder on my computer; I used File>Add Folder to Library) but for some reason they do not show up on my ipod. The songs are in mp3 format, so I do not think I need to convert them. Usually, syncing the ipod in itunes helps, but the little bar that is supposed to show up on top when your ipod is syncing...doesn't.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

    bywybabs,
I don't know what kind of computer you have. If you have a Window's PC it's possible it added the files to your folder "Music" "iTunes" "iTunes Music". If you are able to view the files in your "Music Folder" and they are not in your iTunes Library when you open iTunes. Then find the songs in your "Music" folder and double left click on each song. It should automatically import them into iTunes. I'm not sure why add folder to library did not work.
