Music not showing up on 4S, but shows up in iTunes

I have the iPhone 4S.  My music is not syncing properly.  All of my music is on my itunes.  My music shows up as on my phone when look at my library when the phone is connected to itunes via my cord.  But when I look at my library on my phone, my recent iTunes purchases are not showing up. I've tried re-syncing, re-starting, re-everything, but my music just is not showing up on my phone.  does anyone know how to fix this?

I found a solution!  It was posted on another thread:
Just open itunes on your computer, check to sync something that is unmarked (genre, artist, whatever), sync. Now open music on your iPhone. Bam.
Now just uncheck whatever you checked before. Sync. Bam.
It worked! My songs showed up! Good luck.

  • Transferred music not showing up in iTunes library

I moved my music from a PC to Mac and now it's not showing up in iTunes. I used an external hard drive to copy all of the songs over and they are in the iTunes music folder. Is there something else I have to do to get them to show up in my iTunes library?

Thanks Niel. I knew it had to be something simple!

  • Added music not showing up in iTunes library

I recently bought a cd online and I tried to add it to my library. I tried it like three times, the music isn't showing up there. When I go to the "recently added" playlist, I can see the music there and it's also on my iPod, but it's nowhere to be found in the music folder. What should I do? Is my iTunes library corrupted?

right-click on one of those tracks in iTunes and choose get info. go to the summary tab and check the path to the original file.
also, in iTunes for Mac, if you right-click on a file, you get the option to show in finder (the equivalent to windows explorer). not sure but iTunes for windows might have something similar.

  • Iphone music not showing up in itunes

Help! My iphone 4S works just fine when i[m using it, but when I plug it into my computer it doesn't show my music in iTunes. iTunes no longer opens automaticallly when I attach the iPhone, although it is visible in the windows Device Manager and in Itunes (instead of showing the few thousand songs i have, it shows 3 that i downloaded from the itunes store, but in gray, so i can't alter them anyway). I've tried on multiple computers, I've tried turnng the iPhone off and on (i REALLY hate to wipe it if not necessary - like I said, the phone and music and everything else on the phone itself are fine, and i don't want to risk not being able to reload any music after restoring it to factory default. I've seen other people with the same or similar problems, but no one seems to have a working solution. Any ideas?

I have an iPhone 4S and have the same issue.  I noticed yesterday that I had alot of duplicate songs on my iPhone so I did the drastic thing and removed all music from iTunes then synced my iPhone.  This removed all the music from the iPhone, but still shows audion in the capacity bar at the bottom.  Sure enough when i go into music on my iPhone there is still music on the phone.
I can't see this music from iTunes at all.  I've tried sync'ing and manually managing music both, and neither of them will make the music show back up in iTunes.
The music just seems to be stuck on my phone.  I really don't want to have to restore my phone, but right now i don't know if i have much choice.

  • When I try to sync my music on my iPhone 4 I have a tab at the top that says 'on this iPhone' The music in that tab is always on my phone but does not show in my itunes library.  How can I get it into my library?

When I try to sync my music on my iPhone 4 I have a tab at the top that says 'on this iPhone'.  This is at the end of all the other tabs like info, ringtones, music etc. The music in that tab is always on my phone but does not show in my itunes library.  How can I get it into my library?  It doesn't sync either.

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version.  You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes.  Or you can adapt to the new look.

  • HT4914 I turn on the iTunes Match in my iphone3GS, but the itme of "show all musics" not show up and turn on, so when I open musics in my iPone3GS, the musics seems not be matched with iClouds.

    Dear Sirs,
I turn on the iTunes Match in my iphone3GS, but the itme of "show all musics" not show up and turn on, so when I open musics in my iPone3GS, the musics seems not be matched with iClouds.I means it doesn't work on.

    Hello there Jameskuo47,
In researching the issue you are experiencing I found an article that should help get your iTunes Match content to your iPhone. The name of the article is iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match and you can find it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4913.
    This section specifically:
To add an iOS device to iTunes Match
On your iOS device, go to Settings > Music.
    Note:
iTunes Match requires iOS 5.0.1 or later; you can find the
    latest iOS software here'
Tap the iTunes Match switch to On.To access your music in iCloud, open the Music Player app on your device.
Your music in iCloud will be integrated into your local music library. A download button will appear to the right of any content that you have in iCloud that doesn't already exist on your device.
    Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
By default, when adding an iOS device to iTunes Match, downloading over a cellular network is enabled1. To disable downloading over cellular for iTunes Match, choose Settings > Music > Use Cellular Data > Off.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Anyone know how to remove Overdrive books from my iphone that have been transferred from my computer? They do not show up on itunes. I see a lot of answers to this question but they all are based on being able to see the books in iTunes.

How do I remove Overdrive books from the library that were downloaded onto my computer then transferred to my iphone? The problem is that they do not show up in iTunes.
I see this question asked a lot when I google, but they always give answers that assumes you can find the books in iTunes either under the books tab, or the audio books tab or in the music. They do not show up anywhere for me. They do not remove from the app like the ones I downloaded directly onto my iphone.the related archived article does not answer it either.  I even asked a guy working at an apple store and he could not help either.   Anybody...?
    Thanks!

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

  • Purchsed music not showing up in Library or created playlist

I purchased music last night and successfully transfered the music to my iPod. Now I would like to listen to the music from my computer. However the files are not showing in my iTunes playlist or library. I can find all of the titles, in my Music folder (running Windows XP) but the titles are just shown as individual folders, without the music file for play. Problem - why isn't my purchased music shown in my iTunes library available for play today?

Close iTunes, delete the hidden file called sentinel from the iTunes folder where your library files are stored and then restart. This should force iTunes to run an integrity check on the database which ought to resolve the problem.

I have downloaded 2 movies from itunes to my ipad 2, but they are not showing up in itunes.  where can i find them?

Tap the Videos app and tap the movies button at the top of the page.
The iTunes app on your iPad is just a conduit to the iTunes Store.  To play your purchases, use the iPod app or the Videos app.
