Music on hold restart after prompt

Hey all,
is there a way to have the MOH continue to play or pause the track, play a prompt, and then continue playing where it left off?
At the present time the MOH restarts after every prompt places the contact back on hold.
ccx express version is 5.0(2)SR02_Build04

Hi,
The only configuration on UCCX related to MoH is the Audio Source selected on the CTI Port for the User Hold Audio Source and the Network Hold Audio source.  Each time the UCCX script puts the call on hold, the audio stream gets connected to the MoH source on the CUCM or MoH server.  UCCX doesn't control what MoH is played to the caller though beyond the device configuration when the CTI ports are being created.
I believe a fixed MoH Source would address this.  Just as a heads up, The multicast option for MoH is not a supported feature with CTI devices like UCCX ports, as it can lead to transfer issues in some cases.
Here's a thread I came across on the IPT forum that discusses MoH restarting each time a call is put on hold.

Thanks,
Brendan

  • Call park music on hold reverts to default after server reboot

    Hello,
We are noticing that if you define Music on hold for the Park service, the call park music on hold reverts to default sound after server reboot. (all systems we've tested do this)
Anyone using park music on hold that can verify one way or the other?

    Thank you!

Well, I hadn't rebooted after the 7.1.1 upgrade, but obviously I had to restart iTunes. After I rebooted my iBook iTunes worked... Maybe the 7.1.1 update should be marked with a must reboot?

  • Music app crashes constantly after iOS5 update and won't restart.

I have an iPhone 4 that I updated to iOS5 last week. The first time I tried the new Music App, it ran very sluggishly. I then connected it to my JVC car stereo via the dock connector (Made for iPod), and the Music App crashed. After crashing, it just shows a blank white screen when you try to start the app, then crashes again after about ten seconds.
I can delete all the music from the iPhone via iTunes, and then re-add it, which seems to work for getting the Music App working again. But as soon as I try to connect it to the dock connector on my car stereo, it crashes again as previously described. Grrr.

No answers, only wanted to commiserate—I had a similar problem, and now my iPhone 5 running iOS 5 is showing the blank white screen for the Music app every time. No music showing anywhere, even when NOT connected to the dock in my car. I was wondering if the bug was related to the number of songs/size of files (since I have a crapload of music). This has to be happening to others...

  • IMac G4 will not restart after OS X 10.4.6 upgrade

I have manually upgraded my iMac G4 with downloaded upgrades from 10.4.1 up to 10.4.6 PPC. Each upgrade I sucessfully restarted the computer. After the 10.4.6 upgrade the computer now comes up with the grey/blue screen with the apple image in the centre and the little circle of lines going around ... endlessly!!
Does anyone have any suggestions. I know the remaining memory space is low.

    Hi there...
Well, you need to make free space on the computer's hard disk drive.
And it would help if you could get that large 10.4.11 Combo download
and then consider wiping everything off the computer so as to install
a fresh new complete system on a zeroed and reformatted hard disk
drive. An archive of all the stuff in your computer, to an external would
be a plus. A clone could be helpful, so as to contain all the stuff at once.
But you are a bit beyond that at this point... prevention is always best!
Between software updates, upgrades, installs; etc. it is good to restart
the computer (as it will prompt you to, and you often have little choice)
and also run 'repair disk permissions' from the System's Disk Utility.
Each time. Often, I restart a computer or start it up, and hold the Shift
key down in order to get it to SafeBoot. Then log in, and choose Disk
Utility in the Utilities folder, from GO in the Finder menu. Launch D.U.
and choose 'repair disk permissions' and after it runs, quit that & restart.
At this time, you may need to see if you can start up the computer from
the Mac OS X 10.4 installer disc and in the second Installer screen,
when a main Installer Menu bar appears, choose from the top bar to
get Utilities, and run Disk Utility from there. Run 'repair disk' until you
get a clean report; and then run 'repair disk permissions' too. Then
you can also see if SMART reports the status of the hard disk drive
as pass or satisfactory, or some bad message indicating failure.
Exit Disk Utility (in the booted 10.4 installer's disc) and choose from
the same menu in the header's menubar to select Startup Disk; use
this to try and see if the computer's system can run the computer.
At this point, I've also invoked SafeBoot and when the computer
finally restarts (after using utility from boot disc) and again use the
Disk Utility on the computer's system to 'repair disk permissions'
and then quit D.U. and restart again. You can remove the boot
installer disc any time possible, once you are done trying to repair
the hard disk drive and the basic permissions. A mouse-button held
on startup can force that Installer disc out.
Hopefully these ideas, out of sequence a little, aren't confusing.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Ipod Touch keeps restarting after "red slider" shutdown...and other issues?

Hi There...I'm considering returning my Ipod Touch and thought I'd see if anyone else was experiencing similar issues before I do anything drastic. I purchased a second generation Ipod Touch in December (2.2.1 update) and everything seemed to be working well for a while. I guess it was sometime in January that I noticed my ipod restarting itself after shutdown (red slider)...almost every single time. I simply CAN NOT shut down my ipod when I want to. It does shut down temporarily, then...sometimes seconds, sometimes minutes later...it restarts on it's own.
I've reset all settings, and I've tried turning off wifi (which seemed to work temporarily), but now it's doing it again. I've heard that if you continue to hold down the sleep/wake button while you slide the red slider to "off" it will cause the ipod to restart...so I'm wondering if maybe there's something wrong with the button? Sometimes it seems like if I fiddle with the button (pulling up on it and such), it will allow me to shut it down...but this could be coincidence. I've seen a posting on another mac forum outlining a similar problem but there were no replies. Can anyone offer any other suggestions?
Also, I've been experiencing volume issues with my Ipod...sometimes there's just no volume while songs, youtube videos, etc. are playing. The "progress"(?) bar shows that audio/video is playing, but there is no sound (and yes...the volume is turned up). Seems to happen most often when the headset is plugged in...but that's how I use it most of the time. I do hook it up to an older tuner/amp with a 1/8" to RCA Y-cord, and with a 1/8" - 1/8" cord in my truck and it's cut out then as well.
Both problems seem to be getting worse I only have a few apps on the Ipod (aside from music, podcasts, and some mp4 video) and can list them if anyone thinks this might be the issue. I'd really appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    M.P.

Thanks for your input, but as far as I understand, this restarting issue is definitely not normal for the Ipod touch. Nowhere online or in the provided literature does it say that the ipod is supposed to automatically restart after shutdown. Ignoring the problem by not shutting it down at all is like saying your broken car is fixed because you're not going to drive it anymore! LOL!
Anyhow, this is a relatively small problem now compared to the volume issues which are occurring with greater and greater frequency. It's gotten to the point where I can no longer even listen to a full song from the album I just bought from itunes! This "cutting out" occurs with and without (listening through internal speaker) headphones attached (several different pairs tested) and while hooked to an audio tuner with a high quality cable. I've blown out the jack on the ipod with compressed air to dislodge any possible dust or debris, and have followed the trouble shooting procedures as outlined in the apple support document. The symptoms lead me to believe that this is not so much simply "a volume issue" as it is a symptom of a much larger problem. The volume slider has now started to jump around on it's own after the volume has cut out, and the song continues to play. I have experienced so many problems (not all listed hear) and have heard so many complaints about the ipod touch, that I'm starting to seriously reconsider my purchase...and I'm a huge Mac fan! I haven't abused my Ipod...if anything I'm over cautious with it.
Could this be software related? Something that will be sorted with an update in a few weeks time?Has anyone experienced or successfully resolved any of the issue that I've listed here - or am I on my own? I'm guessing maybe I should just bring it back...
    Best,
    M.P.

  • Music on hold question

I want to put my own files to the music on hold of my company. What are the all the steps to follow?. I use call manger 4.1.

You only need to add the music file to the server. For adding a Music on Hold audio source you need a music file
with good quality. MP3 or WAV are the preferred formats. Other
formats can cause some problems. You have to copy this file in
your callmanager server. Go to directory:
    C:\Program Files\Cisco\MOH\DropMOHAudioSourceFilesHere
and paste the music file there. Wait for a couple minutes.
Callmanager will automatically convert this file to the
appropiate format. After that, the music file will disappear
    from that directory.
Note: if the music file remains on this directory and it is
not converted, please delete the music file from there, then
restart the services "Cisco MOH Audio Translator" and "Cisco
IP Voice Media Streaming App" in the callmanager server, and
copy again the music file to the "DropMOHAudioSourceFilesHere"
    directory.
Now you need to go to CCM Admin > service > media resource >
music on hold audio source. From the left pane, click on
    "Add new MOH Audio Source".
-At "MOH Audio Stream Number" select the first number available.
-At "MOH Audio Source File", select the new Music File.
-At "MOH Audio Source Name", enter any name for your Music file.
-Check the "Play continuously (repeat)" checkbox, if desired.
-Check the "Allow Multicasting" checkbox, if desired.
    -Click on "Insert".
In order to use this MOH audio source in a specific device pool,
in the callmanager administration you need to go to system > device
pool > click on "find". The different device pools will be displayed.
Click on the appropiate device pool. The "Device Pool Configuration"
page will be displayed. You can select the new music file to be used
as "Network Hold MOH Audio Source" and/or "User Hold MOH Audio Source".
Note that Network Hold MOH is the music that phone users hear while
they are transferred to another phone or while a conference call is
being setup. User Hold MOH is the music that phone users hear when
someone else specifically put them on "hold" status.
So you need to scroll down to "Network Hold MOH Audio Source" and/or
"User Hold MOH Audio Source" fields and select the new music file
    from the drop-down list.
Click on the "update" button, then click on "reset devices".
If no MOH is played after following that procedure, please try the
    following:
In CCM Admin, under SERVICES > Service Parameters > select
the adequate server > Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App >
Supported MOH Codecs > hold the CRTL key and select each
available codec with the mouse > click on UPDATE. Then restart
the services "Cisco MOH Audio Translator" and "Cisco IP Voice
Media Streaming App". Use the same procedure in all callmanager
    servers in the cluster.

  • Please help, my music would not open after syncing to computer.

Please help, my music would not open after syncing to computer.

Try quitting the music app completely and restart your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that didn't help - reboot your iPad. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work, there may be a corrupt song in your Music app that you have to find and remove.

    iTunes RADIO is not working.
“iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.” Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so …
iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.
Solve this problem of yours ASAP for us, your numerous disgruntled, dissatisfied customers of iTunes. You can do better, should, and really –in all fairness- must.

  • MBP only restarts after rest

    Folks,
I'm re-posting this here from another thread in the hope that I'll get a better response. It's a compilation of my observations to date.
    Situation:
My MBP has begun to refuse to start on first attempt. This AM it started fine. I then shut it down & tried again a few minutes later. Nothing. Would not restart.
I removed the battery/mag-safe & held the power button down for 5 seconds. I also cleared the PRAM. Yesterday I tried holding the power button down while inserting the power cord. It started. Today I could not replicate this. However, after about 10 tries it finally turned on. Battery is fully charged.
Once booted it runs perfectly. Yesterday, just in case, I made an image of both my Mac & BootCamp partitions. No problem.
This has me stumped. Bad power switch? Loose power switch connection? I'm perfectly willing to fix this myself if somebody can point me in the right direction.
    Update:
I went to my local Apple Store & spoke with one of their techs. Very professional.
He suggested I replace the upper case. I can do that.
However, after I came home I had a thought (rare enough), so I tried a little experiment. I discovered that, if I leave the machine off for 18 minutes or more, it starts just fine. Every time.
Could this be a temperature/heat related matter? And, if so, what could the heat be affecting??
    Update #2:
I haven't heard a word from anyone as to the possible cause of this phenomenon; except to try installing a new $300 upper case.
I'm becoming concerned that I may have no choice but to ship this rig back to Apple. I'd hate to do that. I don't want to be without it for the weeks it would take to maybe find the problem & maybe fix it. I'll fix it myself, if only I can isolate the culprit.
So, here's what I've done since the last entry:
1.) I timed how long it takes for it to "recover" so that it will power up after being shut down. It was between 18 & 20 minutes.
2.) I ran Tech Tool Pro 4. It passed every test, including memory.
3.) CPU temp at rest is somewhere around low 40's to mid 50's Celsius. That's about 5 degrees higher than my new iMac at work, but this is a Core Duo MBP & they tend to run warm.
4.) I ran Software Update last night. It updated and rebooted fine. But, that didn't involve using the power button.
My next test will be to see if it will do a hard shut down immediately after boot; before the unit has had a chance to get hot. But, hopefully someone will have a suggestion in the meantime.
    Update #3:
This AM I pressed the power button & started the boot process. I then, after about 15 second pressed & held the button down to see if it would power down. It did.
I then rebooted & allowed it to fully load. Then, after about 2 minutes, I tried a hard shutdown. No go.
Therefore, it would seem that either heat, or some "full" electrical charge (?) is preventing the power button shutdown or startup after it has been allowed to completely boot.
After about 20 minutes, after the heat or charge has dissipated, it works just fine.
If I have to send this machine to Apple so be it. But, my growing concern is that this problem is so obscure that I might be without my computer for a considerable period of time.
At this point any and all comments are more than welcome. I'm desperate.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    S.U. &/or anyone else,
O.K., I'm back to square one.
    History:
1.) I discovered that my MBP would only restart after a rest period of somewhere around 20 minutes. I assumed a heat/power button issue. My local Apple Store tech suggested that upper case needed replacement.
2.) On a whim If discovered that if I pressed the TYGH keys fairly hard the machine would restart immediately, without the waiting period mentioned in #1 above. Since the keyboard cable to logic board connector is right under these keys I assumed that the connector was loose. I ordered some Kapton tape and planned to reseat the keyboard connector and retape it more securely.
3.) While waiting for the tape to arrive I kept using the TYGH key combo if I needed a fast resart. But, after 2-3 days of doing this I noticed that it didn't always immediately work; that I would need to repeat the process. Then after the machine booted I noticed that some keys began to refuse to work. If I pressed randomly around the board eventually they would come to life, but not always stay alive. It seemed to be getting worse, so to prevent further damage I retired the MBP & grabbed my old iBook G3.
4.) The tape arrived. Yesterday I opened the case, examine the keyboard cable plug & logic board socket under a magnifier. Both looked undamaged. I then reseated the connector and taped it down securely. Everything looked perfect.
5.) I reassembled the machine, slowly & carefully. I then pushed the power button. Nothing. So, I tried the TYGH combo. The machine started. But, many keys refused to work.
So, here is where it stands. I'm going to assume that I have a keyboard or keyboard cable malfunction; not a power button problem.
Question: I'll get a keyboard from iFixit & install myself if the general consensus is that the keyboard is the problem. But, does the keyboard come with the cable? I see no reason to replace the upper case, since it doesn't come with the keyboard, only the power button & trackpad. and, that doesn't seem to be the problem.
Any further suggestion in this situation are more than welcome.
