Music on my curve

Hey  everybody I need your help, this may be simple for some, but I'm new at this.....ok, my previous phone had a media  card with a lot of my favorite music, when I upgraded to the curve 8330 I simple moved the card to the BB and everything is fine. Now I want to add more music to my BB but heres the problem. My pc will not download the BB desktop software, it gets to a certain point and just freezes. So heres my question, Can I load my music onto the media card some other way, and get the curve to recognize and play the music?
thanks in advance

You can make use of Mass Storage Mode. On the BlackBerry go into Options | Media Card. Recommended media settings are as follows:
Media Card support : ON
Encryption Mode : NONE
Mass Storage Support : ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected : YES
Mass Storage mode allows your BlackBerry to act as an extra drive when connected to your PC. So it will show up as an extra drive letter in Windows Explorer. So you can just drag/drop media files onto your media card

Hi and welcome to the forums!
If you downloaded the actual files they should show up in your media manager application under music. Do a hard reset (battery pull) to reset the device index files and see if they show up.

  • Organizing Music on the Curve 8310

I am new to the smartphone (and to MP3 players, also).  I am trying to load music from my computer to my Curve.  I have all my songs named and organized by album on the computer, however, when they transfer to the curve, the names are lost and they are no longer organized by album.  Can someone please help with this?

I would like to know the same for my Bold, it sorts it into its own "genres" but I want to listen to the tracks as I've organised them on the PC!
    Any ideas?

  • When I plug my Blackberry curve in it doesnt show up in "my computer"

I want to put music onto my curve from my itunes, so i looked up online how to do that. The first step it said was that it will ask me if i want to "turn on mass storage mode?" but it didnt ask me that. Ive plugged in my blackberry before and set up the desktop manager. I know the computer detects it because it chimes whenever i plug in the blackberry, but when i go to my computer it does show up? How do i get it to show up in my computer, or even better how do i put on music without it showing up in my comp? thanks in advance

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 – fixes for poor audio quality?

    Hello,
    I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330.
When I use it to play music (mp3s with a good high bit rate) the sound quality is excellent using the “official” headphones that came with the phone (3.5mm jack) and when I play music using the phone’s speakerphone.
But I run into problems when connecting the phone to 1) External computer speakers (good ones) and my car’s auxiliary input (2007 Camry) to play music off my Curve on the car speakers/system. In both these instances I am connecting the BlackBerry with a male-male 3.5mm connector wire (I understand that the Curve has a 3.5 mm headset/audio output, unlike most phones which are 2.5 mm outputs?).
I have tried several 3.5 mm male-male connector wires but get the following problems when playing music on both the external computer speakers and my Camry:
-- Low volume and muffled sound
-- A loud one-second burst of static/click when the music player goes to next song
Can you help me figure this out?
    Thanks!

I have the same problem. Using my iPod fixed the problem.

  • Itunes & bb

Hello, I'm new on here. Question I already have the itunes media sync on my laptop and can transfer only some of my music to my curve, it appears that I can't transfer any music that I buy direct from itunes because of the copyrighted material. Is there anyway to get around this? I know that I can burn a playlist to a disk then import it that way to my phone, but I lose the song/artist info and just shows "track 1, track 2 ,etc..." Which is annoying.
I'm at the fork in the road now, i'm looking to step up the the new Bold/Storm or switch to the iphone. I love BB's but I want to be able to have my entire itunes libary on my BB, but so far I don't see a way to do so, unless someone knows how to get around this legally. As funny as it seems this is my deal breaker. Any advice to input would be very much appreciated.

Yes, that is what you need to do, burn your bought iTunes to disk and rip again to the PC and save.
Or use one of the (not so ethical) app tools out on the internet which remove the DRM from the iTune.

  • New folder for music on Curve

I'm trying to figure out a way to put some children's songs on the Curve but not in the same folder of MUSIC on my 2 gig media card. I'd rather not have Madagascar play when listening to my favorite tunes! I currently hid them in my RINGTONE folder because if I cannot figure out how to make a new storage spot and have the BB find it again.
I've made a new folder within the MUSIC folder using the desktop software and put the songs there, but the folder disappears when I try to find it.
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

all music files should be either in the music or rigtones folder, or inside a sub-folder of these two folders.
if you use anothe folder, the files will not be indexed by the media application and you won't see them unless you use the explorer.
playlist is a good idea, but you can also simply edit all the mp3 of your children
and modify the IDTags : set the Album field to "kiddy" for example.
then in the media application, search by album and select kiddy.

  • Transferring music to curve

After transferring music to device via media manager, which shows up on device when I explore to it from music icon, all that shows up in curve media player is old songs from a past transfer. Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi! You need Windows Media Player 10 and also you need Nokia N91 driver for Windows Media Player 10. Driver can be found from www.europe.nokia.com -> Support -> select N91 as a product and go to Music area. After you have downloaded the driver, locate "N91-mtp.inf" and click once on the file with right mouse button. Select "Install" from the menu that appears. Once installed Windows Media Player 10 should recognize your Nokia N91.

  • BB Curve 8310 w/Jabra BT8040 Music Cut Outs

I listen to streaming radio (Pandora) through my BlackBerry Curve 8310 and had no trouble with standard wired headphones. Yesterday I got a Jabra BT8040 bluetooth headset and everything works great except that intermittently the music cuts out and then back on. I've noticed that every time this happens, the double arrows appear in the upper right hand of the phone screen indicating that the phone is sending or receiving data. Is this a buffering or cache issue that is interfering with the signal to the headset? I'm hoping that this is a simple fix 'cause the headset works great otherwise.

i am using 8310 curve which reboots radomly, it doesnt reboot in standby mode or while plugged in pc through usb, but if i use it randomly as like hearing music or making a call or texting anyone it reboots, so plz can anyone help me in this case, i would be greatful, here is my event log collected using jl_cmder, thankyou.
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem.

  • Music over BT on Curve 8520

I'm new with a BlackBerry Curve 8520.  I came from a "standard"  non-smart cellphone where I could play "music" over most Bluetooth earpieces / headphones.  Now it seems that only stereo Bluetooth headphones will allow music to be played over Bluetooth.
Does anyone know of an "affordable" stereo BT headset?
Also, the headset jack uses a "three wire" system (Left, Right, "pause","  use with a BlackBerry headset.  What "wire" is required to connect to a standard "AUX" stereo jack on PCs or "stereo" systems?

Affordable and quality are subjective. If you Google it there is a good choice of H/S.

I use Mikomi headphones with my stereo and pc and, the the adaptor removed, also with the 8520. I'm not sure quite what you are trying to do.
