Music pauses when browsing with Safari

When I am playing music on ipad via airport express and browsing with Safari at the same time the music pauses when opening new pages. Does anyone know how to fix this unwanted intereference?

Hi Kappy
I know how to turn off the pop-ups, thanks.
My concern is that the message comes up when I start Safari before a webpage even opens.
So it is not coming up as a result of a webpage, rather it is coming up when starting Safari. And that worries me - it may be residing elsewhere in the ios.
this possible?

Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?

From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click. Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

The file sshnas21.dll mentioned in the crash report is a component of malware or spyware, you should immediately remove it using an antivirus and antispyware program.
Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
• Bluetooth issue when working with Safari but not other applications

I have tried two new bluetooth headsets (Motorola 9HD and Sony DR-BT100cx) that both can Pair with and work just fine with the local itunes application and any DVD I use. But these devices do not work with Safari. I tried going to Hulu, YouTube, etc and i can tell the bluetooth device is 'listening' because I can hear it click or wait for a signal. But I never hear anything. If i switch over to DVD or my Podcasts that are local, it works fine. If I go to bluetooth settings and select 'stop using headset' the MacBook speakers pick up right away.
Note: I am a brand new Mac user, so please disregard my OS version I have selected. I have no idea how to find my OS version, nor do I know how to install Firefox to see if it is simply a browser issue.
Thanks,
Jay

I have the same issue. I've tried 3 different btooth headsets, and they all react the same:
- music: ok
- skype: ok
- webcasts / video (safari or firefox): no sound, and video stops
HOWEVER: same system, same headset, using Internet Explorer in my windows xp VM: everything works.
Anyone know how to contact Apple and log this issue?

• Can I leave Powerbook on all the time and music pauses when disc ejects.

I have had an imac at home for the last 4 years and always left it asleep when not using it so I could acces my itunes quickly. I have just upgraded to a Pbook G4 17" and am concerned now that I may not be able to leave it on. I read Apples guide to battery use and they say not to leave it plugged in all the time. I thought this was a machine that could be used all the time? Am i safe to leave it plugged in asleep through the day and night with say 3 to 4 hours use in the evening?
Also, when listening to itunes and i eject a disc the music pauses for a moment. I use a G5 at work and my old imac never did this. Someone I work with has the same Pbook but 15" and hers doesnt pause.
Can any one help with these 2 issues? Love my Pbook but these couple of things are taking the shine off it. Thanks for an informative forum.

It is OK to leave your PowerBook on (plugged in) but remember to use your battery once in a while. Lithium-based batteries have to be used. Fully discharging and recharging the battery every two weeks should be OK.
An alternative is removing your battery with a 50% charge. Apple suggests this if you don’t plan on using your battery for more than six months.

• Unreadable email when opening with Safari

All of a sudden when I use Safari to open my email all I get is a bunch of unreadable symbols and letters. How do I fix this?

Are you sure that ots not an issue on the server? Have you tried reading your email on a computer with a desktop browser?
Here are a couple of basic things that you can start with if you haven't done them already.
Quit Safari completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or clear Safari and restart the iPad. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Hi, I had the same problem. Now, I know you said not to reply if I was gonna say that the headphones are in correctly; but I had the same problem and it worked. Push them in as far as they go! It works! You may have thought you tried that (I did too),but one day I was ****** that it didn't work, and I pushed them in as hard as they could, and now when it goes into the black screen mode, the music keeps playing, I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you, but it worked for me and all my friends. Good Luck!

• A video I have watched in the past plays randomly, invisibly and sporadically in the background when browsing with FF10.

I'm having a small but annoying issue with FF10. In the past, I have watched a video on a website that I visited to get information on a diet for a family member. I have not visited that site since obtaining the information on the diet, but now, sometimes the audio from that video will play in the background when I am browsing with FF10. This issue has not occurred with any other browser, so far as I am aware. My first thought was that I may have a virus, but I run virus scans every day, and all of them have come back showing no viruses. I have run Norton Internet Security scan in both Safe Mode and Normal mode, all with the same result. My PC is less than a year old, and everything seems to be running smoothly, apart from this problem. It does not happen every time I open Firefox, but sometimes happens at start-up, or more rarely, after I've been browsing for a while. Apart from the repeated virus scans, I have also attempted to clear any cookies related to the site I visited. I am waiting to see if this solves the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had a similar issue. If you have, any help would be much appreciated. The audio of the video was annoying to listen to once, and I'm hoping I do not have to keep hearing it so often, so if you have any suggestions beyond what I have tried, I'd be extremely grateful. Thank you.

• Error when posting with Safari 10.3.2

Hi all,
This is odd, I can't post in 10.3 Usage and the Leopard Usage forum and here using Safari 1.3.2 but using Camino I was able to get right in and post here (or at least I'll see when I hit the "Post Message" button. Safari let me in but would keep returning errors when trying to post a topic or reply.
Just thought I'd post here my situation as of right now. Anyone else having problems? Sorry, I lost the copy/paste of the error when I tried to post here with Safari.

edit: Just now am editing this post with Safari again and it seems to be working again. Weird...I suppose just another small glitch while posting.

• .wmv files won't open when downloaded with Safari

Recently bought this MacBook. It has Safari 3.2.3. When I download any .wmv file, the icon is a blank page icon and opens with textedit, not QuickTime or QuickTime Pro, even though the extension is .wmv. The .wmv files download properly with other browsers I have tried. I am hesitant to upgrade Safari to 4.0.3 due to the many posts of all the problems it seems to have. (I still have an unresolved issue with Safari on my other Mac after I updated.)
The message I get is "The file could not be opened. The file is not a movie file."
Anyone have an idea?

Hello William:
Download the free copy of Flip4Mac:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx
That product allows one to see .wmv files using Quicktime.
I am hesitant to upgrade Safari to 4.0.3 due to the many posts of all the problems it seems to have.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Safari 4.0.3 (that I am aware of). There have been very few posts about problems, actually. The problems that have been posted almost always are specific to an individual configuration. For perspective, this user-to-user forum is for people who have problems. As a comparison, if you went to a hospital and extrapolated, you would think the whole world was sick.

• Very Weird Problem with Images on Websites while browsing with Safari

Picture says it...
http://home.mountaincable.net/~jameslin/1.JPG
but when I open the same webpage in IE all the images load up in their proper covers just fine.
Also no I haven't done any photo editing in photoshop or anything recently, this just happened out of nowhere it was totally random. Also I have 2 monitors and the colour problems happen on both of them..... so I'm very confused

Okay.
Just checking ... when you reinstalled Safari, did you reinstall Apple Application Support as well?
If not, there's instructions for doing that on XP in the following post:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10598385&#10598385
(Some of the main Safari dlls live in Apple Application Support in version 4.0.4 ... so if there's a really subtle issue going on with one of those, the "complete and careful" reinstall of both AAS and Safari might do the trick.)

• Some webpages lose all font and layouts. This doesnt happen when viewed with safari

I updated my website using iweb which worked fine previously. Now some of the pages have lost all formatting, the text is large and not as required, some images have been replaced with a repeat of the text. Yet other pages are fine!! All pages are fine when viewed on safari. Ive rejigged and reloaded the site many times but cant resolve the problem. HELP!!

The good news is, the page looks fine in Windows 7.
In case you haven't already tried this, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r (Mac: Command+Shift+r) to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
(WIN) orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
(MAC) Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
