(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • How do I change the album order to "oldest-first" in my iPhone music player?

Ok, so up until my last update to iOS 7.1 when I opened an artist in my music player it would list their albums from the oldest to the newest, but since I updated to the new version, albums of any particular artist are listed from newest-to-oldest. I know how to change this order with podcasts, that's easy enough, but how to I change back to "Oldest first" for the music player? Please tell me this is possible, I much prefer to listen to bands' music in order.

Unless you opt to create a playlist and manually order the tracks, you can't.

  • N8 music player "artists and albums" issue

    Hello!
"artists and albums" in N8 music player mixes albums with same name from different artists
    into one album.
    How to reproduce:
    1) add "Greatest Hits" album from Blondie and "Greatist Hits" from Black Sabbath
    2) refresh library
    3) now there's one album "Greatest Hits" from Black Sabbath that contains songs from both Blondie and Black Sabbath albums.

if you run your music through windows music player before installing on phone and find album info in it all the music will display correctly well at least the odd 30 or so albums I have on my phone do , with album art in cover flow !

  • Music Player S^3 artist&album

I recently got a C6-01 and am very happy with the phone overall. There are a few questions I have about the way the music player deals with the library though.
    1) Why do songs get categorised in the (Unknown/Unknown) category when the artist is known but the album isn't? This is rather annoying because there are quite a lot of tracks in the library that only have the artist information set, but they don't show up in the artist listing.
    2) Can I select to play all the songs from a particular artist (without creating a playlist out of them) regardless of the album info? Again this would be very helpful since some of the tracks won't have the album info, and sometimes I just want to listen to a particular artist and not care so much about which album the tracks are on.
Neither one of these should be a problem technically, so am I just missing some menu item to get it done or is it not possible?
    Thanks.

There are two "Artist" fields in the ID3 information in each track - a track artist and an album artist (this allows for compilation albums where a single singer or group did not make all of the tracks on the album), if some of these fields are not filled in, you may see strange things like this when viewing the tracks in the phone's music player. You can edit the track details in Ovi Player (they need to be copied to your PC, amended then compied back).

Presently, no. This is an omission from the S^3 music player that needs to be put right.

  • Music player in iPhone doesn't show cover of album, downloaded from itunes

I bought an album on iTunes and downloaded it on the iPhone (without program). The music player program doesn't show the album cover. I see it in iTunes program on computer, but don't see it in iPhone. Deleted album from iPhone, uploaded it again, using iTunes program. Nothing changed.
    iPhone 5s 8.0.2

I do not know what the intention is to open and run command prompt on iphone. Lovely picture, BTW, thank you.
Apple created iphones and ipads the way that windows explorer or OS can only read and manage one folder. DCIM
folder that contains your pictures on the phone. Only the pictures made by you, nothing else. So anything you trying to accomplish in command prompt is not going to happen.
If you read somewhere that you need to right click to back up your phone or transfer purchases or restore you need to be looking on the other screen in that article. Look at how to back up instructions here. They have step by step.

  • Nokia n8 music player - one album not appearing

I have downloaded plenty of albums to my phone both before and since, but there is one album that just will not appear in the music player.
If I go into the file manager, into the music folder, I can find and play the album.  However, it refuses to show up through the music players.
    Any ideas?

Also, have you looked at the info to see who the first artist is listed on the first track?  I've had some where a guest star is listed on a track and instead of the album being listed under who it should be, it's listed under the guest star......

  • Two "album" tabs on music player. No "artists" tab anywhere?

I synced my iphone with iTunes, and after I realized there is no "artist" tab in the music player? In its place is an additional "album" tab, so now there's two album tabs! I tried to edit the tabs only to find that the "artist" tab or whatever is gone and I can't find it anywhere? Is anyone else having this problem? any ideas on how to fix it?

  • Removing album art work from standard HTC music player + shuffle issue

    Hey Everyone,
My apologies if this has already been posted but I am having 2 issues with the music player....
    1) is there a way for the album artwork NOT to load/display for the phones standard music player? Not a major issues compared to the other (and plentiful) issues related to 2.2 but I imagine with no album artwork there would be more available memory, and regardless of the artist all my songs (1800+) have the same album artwork ...that may be related to how they were listed on my PC but either way, I do not want the album artwork to display.
Is there a way to delete the album artwork from the phone? I know there are other music players out there, but the standard player is preferrable
    2) is anyone else experiencing an issue with the Shuffle option? As mentioned before I have 1800+ songs on my memory card but when I have the shuffle on, it seems to play only the same subset of songs. For example, the first song that came on was "Elysian Fields-Sugarplum Arches" but after that song was complete, I scrolled thru about 7 songs and that song came up again.
    Anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks!

I have the same issue with one particular album cover that seems to get assigned to a huge portion of the albums that were fine prior to 2.2 but now they are identified as Unknown.  I have deleted the album and songs that is written to all the other songs/ablums and it still uses its picture when I reload the other songs/albums.
I even have albums that seem to be correct (picture and songs match album) but they get stuffed in the Unknown album folder.

  • Stupid N95 music player cannot delete album and ar...

After added new songs, then refrash, the new albums and artist can shown in the list. But How about I deleted these songs? The albums and artist still in the list that I cannot delete them. A stupid notice, 'feature not supported', is displayed when I want to delete the an albums or artist. How stupid the application design is! Is it a record to remind me what I listened before?
Also, why the background picture was separated in the now playing window? I means cannot be shown full screen as other screens. My theme is work well in V12 firmware, what problem on V20?
In fact, I am very disappoint that Nokia rob of the free GPS function in new firmware to chouse more money from customer. Now, a useless music player is pushed to user. What is next?

There a a number of posts on how to easily solve the problem regarding deleting album/artist folders.
Odd what you say about the GPS. My GPS is free. The navigation isn't but I can read a map....

  • Why do i still see purchased albums ive DELETED on my music player?

why do i still see purchased albums ive DELETED on my music player? im still in disbelief at how bad the ios 7 update has been for the music player functionality. it's like they wiped it clean slate and hired a college intern to have a go at it, first try

and i take it you havent used the music player too music whilst trying to delete an album or add an album to a playlist for example...and then there's my current problem anyways which apparently doesnt exist. songs that arent even on the iphone still show even after hiding cloud-stored songs. like i say its set to manual in itunes. i delete the albums from itunes and sync it and then theres albums reading on my iphone in the itunes viewer that arent reading on my musoc player and vice versa. its not that i dont know how to do this - ive been doing this since the first ipods, and every model of iphone up to now. so its definitely quirky, but im hoping someone else has figured out some way to beat it from their own trial and error.

  • Music player app - locking display orientation and album info

Is there anyway to lock the ipod touch music player app in a particular orientation? Alternately, can the music player be set to stay in album info mode when the ipod changes orientation?
I listen to my ipod touch when riding my bicycle. I use the DLO ActionWrap attached to my forearm, primarily in landscape orientation. However, I frequently want to see how long the current song is or how many songs are left to play on the album and, as I move my arm and change the orientation of the ipod, the ipod will exit info mode each time I change orientation. It would be nice to be able to lock the ipod music player app in landscape mode or lock it in a mode that it will stay in info mode as I change orientation of the ipod.
If you just can't do this, if anyone at Apple reads this, could you please make this a feature?
    alan

I have downloaded Audiograbber to my laptop. Converted all my music to Mp3 then transferred it all to my PlayBook via Wifi. You get the album, artists, selections etc. Works great for me. Then on the PlayBook you can select what you want to put on the Playlist.

  • N-series Music Player plays album tracks in alphab...

This bug is still in the N85 firmware (V 30.019). So the firmware has now been updated twice, with the error still in it.
However, I have found a workaround, that is easy to use and does not require too much work. It's a bit on the geeky side, I'm afraid, but not that difficult.
    The Problem
I have found that N85 (and presumably many other N-series devices as well) cannot correctly read and play music albums, but instead plays the tracks in alphabetical order. The same occurs no matter how you transfer the audio to the device. Even thought the Music Player cannot read the tags in the MP3 files, but it does handle M3U playlists correctly.
    Background
[A short explanation for those of you who don't know what M3U playlists are. They were originally developed to be used with the computer music player WinAmp, but have since become a rather common little tool. Playlist is basically a text file, with a name like michael_jackson_thriller.m3u, that lists the contents of a music album (or indeed any other collection of music that you like) and describes the sequence of music files to be played. It sort of tells the music player application what you want to hear and in what order.
When you double click an M3U playlist in your computer, your music player software will open and play the music files in that playlist, automatically. In other words, a playlist does not contain any music, but instructions about where to find them in your computer's or device's memory. You can use playlists in your Nokia N-series phone's music player as well.]
    The Solution
Always include an M3U file with each album that you transfer to your phone. Then, instead of the album open the corresponding playlist and hey presto! it plays correctly. As an added bonus, you get noticeably shorter gaps between tracks, which is especially nice when you play mixed music (like DJ sets or classical music). Please note that you can't use PLS files (another common playlist format).
What you want to do is get a helper application to your computer that can easily (or even automatically) create playlists, and then transfer them to your device's Music folder in mass media mode. The simply update your Music Library in your phone and go to Playlists in the Music Player.
I have found the following (Windows) applications particularly useful.
    Oddgravity Playlist Creator
A compact tool that creates playlists automatically. I usually select one folder (one album), let the app create the playlist in the same folder, and than just drag (copy) the folder to my phone's mass memory. The whole thing takes something like 60 seconds.
    iTunes Export
A tool that turns your iTunes playlists into M3U playlists. Can be fully automated.
    Medieval CUE Splitter
If you use CUE files to split whole albums, this app can create M3U files while you split the album file.
PS Otherwise I think that Carthage should be destroyed, and that Nokia really should fix that bug!

    NO .
E series have the basic features of NOKIA'S music player while hi-end Nseries phones have extra software wise better performance and some of them have better audio chip.
    Why is this?
Just to distinguish it is an ESeries phone and that is a Nseries?
