Music player bugs.

Hello.
I just recieved my iPhone5s, it's brand new and completely upgraded. But I have this minor bug... When I play songs from my music library and unlock the phone, it saves a point that it will hop to anytime I unlock it for as long as that somg is playing. Please help me.

Tried that, doesn't work. Problem is also present on another person's iPhone 4 in addition to my itouch 5. Anybody else having this problem?

  • Music player bug on iPhone 5 after iOS7.1.1 update

    Good day everyone,
There are over 30,000 discussions here so i would like to post this report. after i updated my iphone5 to ios 7.1.1 i have been experiencing a bug with the music player. the bug is when i started to play a playlist and tried to select other song within the playlist while a music is running, my action give a next command instead of playing the music that i selected.
i hope for your quick resolution.
    thank you..

I think all you need to do is Reset your iPhone (press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo, then release).  My iPhone 5 on 7.1.1 does not do this, so it is not an iOS bug, just a quirk in your particular installation.  Worse case, you may need to do a Restore of the iPhone, but try Reset first.

  • N97 mini - Music player bugs

Opening the podcast in the music player reveals several options missing, like least played, never played etc. As a frequent user of podcast, the options are used all the time. They are missing in N97 mini, however available in N97, N86, 5800.

I too confirms this problem in Nokia N97 mini.
It hangs very often While playing songs downloaded from nokia music store.
I have to swith OFF/ON to play music again.
Sometimes even i fails to swith off it and only solution is pulling battery out of phone.
Even no solution from Nokia care.

  • Ios 7 lock screen and music player bug. if you unlock the phone while playing music it restarts the song .

everytime you unlock the phone while playing music it restarts the song from the beginning what can we do! probably just wait for a fix

Here the same discussion for iPods...

I had the same problem and did a reboot, for me that solved the problem.
    How to reboot your iPhone:
    1. Hold down the Home button (that’s the big button in the lower front) and the Sleep / Wake button (that’s the little button on the top right) down.
    2. Keep holding until you see the screen go black and then the Apple logo appear.
    3. Voila! Your iPhone has been rebooted. Resume your blissful life and forget that anything bad happened with your iPhone.

  • 5630 XM Music Player

Hi, so I'm just wondering if anyone else's 5630 music player keeps crashing? Mine does after a few songs.. Not every time but pretty often.
Hoping a new firmware will fix it.

what you need to remember is that Nokia try their best at testing and developing phones before they are released. they don't have access to testing by millions of users, so when the phones are released, there of course will be more bugs reported to them and that they will know of, since say for example, they had a hundred testers, now they have access to millions more. and most of the time they do a great job, and within months the phone is noticeably faster, more stable, more reliable and a pleasure to use. i must admit i was a bit miffed when i bought my N78 and it was buggy, but i was patient and with the last few updates it has gotten better and better. now my phone is a joy to use with the latest firmware (v30), and i have not had a single Music Player bug/crash/hang/restart in a whole month of intensive usage with the phone. not to mention the phone either. please be patient and you will be rewarded.
please throw some kudos our way, it would mean a lot to us
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • BUG?  Music Player in iTunes is broken after update to 10.5

I updated to iTunes 10.5.0.142 so that I could load the new ios on my iPad.  My music player worked flawlessly prior to the update, but now every single song in my library plays distorted.  Most songs are mp3's that I've ripped myself so I can play these on other players and verify it's not the audio file.  Every song playing through iTunes sounds like static, heavy synth, and cymbals.  I can tell it's the song I'm selecting, but it just doesn't sound right - maybe like you're listening to it on an FM radio channel and you're 2 clicks way (trying to listen to 94.7 FM on 94.9 FM, for example).
I attempted to resolve by first "repairing" iTunes and then i uninstalled/reinstalled; nothing has worked.  I tried getting Support from Apple but it wants me to pay for an issue with the "free" software...no thanks.  Thankfully my hardware is working fine, albeit the iPad 1 is noticably SLOWER after this update.
Mp3s played through Windows Media, Spotify, or HP Play (for my Touchpad) are all good - just not iTunes.  Is anyone else experiencing these issues using the iTunes music player?  This seems like a serious software bug.  Absolutely nothing changed on my computer except for the version of iTunes.

I updated to 10.5.0.142 the day before yesterday when prompted but already had iTunes open, chose not to reboot my PC (as requested) but shut it down at the end of the day.  Yesterday when I did boot up the PC and try to go into iTunes it just kept crashing  - I got some sort of APPCRASH dialogue) before it could even open it!  I tried rebooting again but got no further.
Then I deleted iTunes out of my programs and tried a reinstall, but STILL it kept crashing.  So I then deleted it again and this time downloaded 10.4.1 from this link http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1427 (bottom of the page).  All is now rosy again   It did tell me that there is a newer version of iTunes as soon as i went in but obviously I ignored this and turned off the prompt I won't be upgrading for a few months or at least untill I hear that all is in working order.
Don't expect this sort of thing from Apple (and I hear that there are proplems with the latest iPhone OS upgrade).

  • Bug in Mobile Music Player using iCloud

    Hi there.
I noticed some problems with the Music Player from iOS 6.0.1 when using iCloud on the iPhone 5 16GB.
I have stored my whole musiclibrary in iCloud using iCloud and iTunes match.
When I want to play tracks on my iPhone I first have to download them by clicking the iCloud button in the Music Player app. This also works.
But sometimes I notice that some tracks just dissapear from my iPhone which will makes me unable to play them.  The tracks are still inside the music library but can't be played. Let me show you this in an example:
(Tracks from a playlist which contains more than one track. (Shuffle set to off, Repeat All set to on)
Normal behavior: Open Music Player -> Choose desired track -> Track will be played.
Erratic behavior: Open Music Player -> Choose desired track -> Track will be skipped. Music Player jumps to next working track. It seems the player rendoy switches to the next track as it will also skip other working tracks in some cases.
(Tracks from a playlist which only contains one track (incomplete album). (Shuffle set to off, Repeat All set to on)
Normal behavior: Open Music Player -> Choose desired track -> Track will be played.
Erratic behavior: Open Music Player -> Choose desired track -> Track can't be played. Play icon in status bar is flickering for about 3 seconds. Music Player responds extremely slow after this.
After exiting Music Player app from switcher bar it works normally.
So now I have my music library with music I own (purchased in iTunes and uploaded with iTunes Match) which I can't play, remove or redwownload.
I noticed the problem with disappearing tracks already in iOS 5.x but back then I was able to redownload them. Now this doesn't work anymore.
Any comments on that issue ?
I'd like to see that bug being fixed with the next bug fix release of iOS.
    Regards
    Dominik

  • Urgent! Music player error/bug

my n95 8gb's music player has some kinda error. i downloaded a mp3 file, the artist name was ACDC. i renamed it to AC/DC, but the ACDC artist name wasn't deleted. i opened it, nothing was there. i tried to delete it, but a pop-up message says General: Feature Not Supported. Can anyone here help me with this? coz i have to sell my phone so i can buy an electric guitar. Please help..
    Regards,

This is a normal case with the phone
on firmware 3.08 you often get General System Error
on firmware 3.26 you would get an never ending Searching for Music
on firmware 4.13 you would freeze up your music playing by using the original head set after playing 2-5 tracks
I have to add that the music player is the major flaw in this phone with its series of bugs.  It has issues when updating library after adding new songs too, in addition to its low sound production.
I have tried the phone soft reset but this is never a permanent solution
The phone is a good phone still but Nokia seems to neglect its users.

  • Bugs & Improvements - Music Player - Shuffle won't shuffle past 300

I have encountered a bug and experiences of major lag functionality while using the Music player.
    1. Shuffle appears to not want to shuffle past the #300. It continually bounces around in numbers under that mark no matter what category I'm in and I have over 1000 songs on my Touchpad. So maybe, 124,28,287,145...etc
    2. The volume slider lags fairly heavily at times. Especially when you have more than one app open and you are multi-tasking. Also, it is redundent to also display the volume popup in the middle of the screen. I think just messing with the slider in the music app is sufficient.
    3. Scubbing through a song is sometimes laggy as well.
    4. Why is the fullscreen button there? why doesn't it show a picture of the Album Art or a CD front or something, and when in 'cover flow' why doesn't it then swap that button out for an icon that looks like lines with numbers or something...which is what its going back to. The full screen button seems a bit off to me. Also the snap transition from List View -> Cover Flow is a bit abrupt (it just pops), with all the other fades and nice ease in eaes out in other parts of the interface you'd think that all things would be that same way for the sake of consistency.
    5. Flick Kinetic scrolling through the song list is also laggy especially with multiple apps open or multi tasking. i.e. Browser & Mail, when I am experiencing lag.
    6. Cover Flow - Kinetic Scrolling/Flicking, I would like to be able to flick and have kinetic scrolling in the Cover Flow Album Art View. It would be to flick through multiple songs instead of just ONE at a time, which can be a tad slow when you sometimes have upwards of 5000+ songs in a library. Would also be nice to see the song number in the Cover Flow as well.
On the plus side the Music player in the Notification Bar is fantastic and works well from the lock screen as well. Love it when songs change and you are notified when in other apps. That is very well implemented. The beats audio is also great, argueably the best sound out of a tablet.
    Just my 2 cents!
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Thank you for your comments and the issue you have found. I will be passing the shuffle problem along to engineering as a possible bug.

  • Music Player Blues (Bugs + Missing Features)

I've discovered three potential bugs with the music player.
The first is very minor, but would be nice to have fixed: in a playlist, I find that often when one song has an album art but the next in the playlist does not, the player often does not update the album art that is being displayed (that is, it shows the previous song's album art rather than the generic background).
The second problem has caused me much grief - every now and then one of my playlists on the device will get wiped out. It's happened twice now, both with the same playlist. Both times the playlist had 200-300 songs in it.
Third, sometimes the ability to control the music player with the mute button goes away. I've noticed this occurs most commonly after watching a youtube video on the device (even after the browser is closed).
I'd be happy to send any additional information required to get these things fixed ASAP.
If I could suggest a few enhancements for future updates, please consider the following:
-When deleting a song, it would be nice to see on the warning dialog the name of the song you're deleting. A couple times I've held my finger over the wrong song and didn't realize it till it was too late.
-Would also be nice if the music player could be turned into a background app that can be launched from the settings menu.
-There does not appear to be a way to search for a song inside a playlist. This is a must-have feature!

  • Bug: music player volume disabled when navigating ...

First of all, again, much kudos to Nokia for releasing free voice navigation!!
One feature I like a lot about the navigation function is that I can listen to music (e.g. while cycling) and still get voice directions. However I've experienced the following bug with Maps v3.03 10wk01 b05 and Music Player (firmware v40.0.5): when voice navigation is on, I cannot change the volume of the music player any more. In other words, when the Maps application is in the foreground, acting on the volume rocker will adjust the volume of voice navigation, as expected. However, when Maps is in the background and the music player is in the foreground, acting on the volume rocker has no effect (not even on the navigation voice volume).
Not sure this is a bug of Maps, but it looks like having navigation on disables volume control on the music player.
Does this happen to you too?

On my E71 I cannot separately control the volume for Music Player and Maps.  This is an annoyance when driving with the Bluetooth connection to the car stereo.

  • N97 V2 music player has more bugs than a hundred y...

    My problem is back!
This is what I have done in the past hour.
Exported my contacts to vcf onto memory card. Removed the card.
    *#7370# - hard reset
Went through all that... Then remembered I hadn't wiped mass storage.
Wiped mass storage (Which it kept complaining it couldn't do until I removed all the default active apps on the front screen). After removing them it eventually formatted it
    *#7370# - hard reset
    Let it get settled...
Connected to USB, did a firmware update check. 2.00.19, no update available. Disconnected USB.
Removed all the front screen **bleep**, added shortcut 2, put my normal shortcuts onto it.
    Added my wifi destination
Opened the browser, went to google.co.uk via my wifi, added that as bookmark
Put the memory card back in (there are no apps on it, I never got round to using it for anything).
Imported my contacts back from the memory card.
Went into music player, zero tracks shown. Good.
Connected USB, started Nokia Music PC application (latest version, had checked). Right clicked on one album 13 tracks.
Let it send them over to the N97.
Disconnected phone. Started N97's music player. It says music library corrupt, scanning... Says 13 tracks found.
Artists shows one artist, 13 tracks. Albums shows 1 album. All looks good.
Go into the album, pick on a track, starts playing.
Volume control does nothing. Touch volume control does nothing. Headset remote control, volume, forward and reverse do nothing. Touch screen pause/play forward and reverse do work, but there is no way to control volume.
I've screwed up this music player app before the Nokia system has even got round to sending me the Welcome text message (which I have seen too many times!).
Okay, I'm going to write the next bit line by line as I do it... So bear with me... It's step by step. You never know, it might help anyone that gives a damn (Nokia hopefully), fix it!
    *#7780# - soft reset
Front screen now just shows shortcuts1 and 2, but the shortcuts themselves have switched back to Nokia's defaults.
    Music player volume now works!
Connect to USB, send another mp3 album. PC app says (and shows on the %age bar) transferring 5 tracks. Album has 18. Nokia Music system tray icon says complete after 5, but the little arrows shows things are still being transferred. Waited for them to finish. Click the N97 icon and it's showing both albums, with all 18 tracks the second one really does have.
    Disconnect USB
Go into Music library on N97, no auto refresh message. Showing only the original album with 13 tracks.
"Options\refresh library" nothing shows as scanning, just appear straight back at the artist, album, playlist option screen. Albums still shows just the first one.
Option\music library details says 13 tracks
    Playback and volume still work.
Using the file manager, mass storage, music there's my 2nd artist, the album, and all the mp3 files. I can click them and play them. Volume still works.
Select original (found) album, select delete. Everything shows 0, even though 2nd album is there in the mass memory, file mgr shows it. First artist and albums folders are still there, but empty (Nice house keeping Nokia).
Reconnect USB, Nokia Music just shows the "invisible" 2nd album, and will play it.
Pick a 3rd album of 11 tracks... Send that to N97.. No progress bar or anything shown, just wait for the arrows to stop flashing and then confirm N97 is showing two albums (the invisible on and new one) on the PC app.
    Disconnect USB.
Back on the N97... Apps, Music.. Says Music Library 11 songs (that's the 3rd album)... Go into it..
    Albums (no songs)
    All songs (no songs)
Artists: The artist from 3rd album is shown... 11 songs!
Click it... Shows the album name, 11 songs.
Click the album, and click the first track to play it... Long delay of a few seconds...
Starts playing... Volume not working again!
Try refresh library... again, nothing, no progress bar...
    No change, no volume control.
Now here's the really weird bit... If I go and find the mp3 file on the mass storage, and play it from there, volume control works! Come back through the music play app, play the same track, volume won't work.
    *#7780# - soft reset
Welcome message, yeah yeah... Ooooh, very fast confirmation text message...
Apps, Music, Music Library (11 songs), go into that, click Albums.... "Cannot perform whilst USB connected" **bleep**?I disconnected that ages ago when i said I did. After that every attempt to go into Albums dumps me back to the Music app showing "Last player - blank" "Music Library 11" etc etc...
Exit all the way out and try to go back in...Artists does the "USB connected" error. Albums just dumps me out. Playlists says "File corrupt". All songs say "(no songs)". Podcasts and Genres say "USB connected", composers "General system error" and after that I get a couple of other system errors from other options and then it just dumps me back out.
    *#7780# - soft reset
    Ovi welcome... blah blah...
Apps, music, music library (11 songs), go into it, option\refresh... Ooooh, something happens, a progress bar! 18 files added! That's 3rd album...
Albums show both... Artists show both
Pick one for playback... Volume control is back!
Right... Time to try a different tack...
Connect USB, mass storage mode this time (all previous attempts have been PC suite mode).
Create a now folder in music for the artist name (as stored in ID3 tag), create subfolder in that for the Album name (as stored in ID3). Copy mp3 files.
Eject USB device, wait for windows to confirm... It does.
    Disconnect USB cable.
App\music\Music Library (29 songs - Thats the two previous albums). Go into it, previous tracks shown, playback/volume okay.
Refresh library works again... Now 3 albums, volume works.
Back to USB (mass storage mode).
This time deliberately doing the storage structure wrong... \music\albumname\mp3s (normally \music\artist\albumname\mp3s).
Music library still showing the 48 tracks from the first 3 albums... Seems to open a bit slower... Still works though.
    Refresh library... 13 files added...
    4 albums... All working...
Looking with file mgr from badly arranged folder is still as I made it... I guess the Nokia Music PC app creates the tree format, and the N97 doesn't actually need it.
    Okay, proof of pudding test...
    Connect via USB (mass storage).
Delete the album I created with the mangled folder structure.
Copy 20 folders of mp3 albums across using just windows file manager to the mass storage drive's music folder.
Eject USB storage device from windows....
Oh... Up until now I was almost certain I would be able to use N97 as an MP3 player as long as I avoided the Nokia Music PC app...
Apps\Music\music library shows 61 songs, which is what it had...
Go into it, click albums and I'm getting the USB device connected message. It's not, and the icon isn't even showing on the phone, so I can't go into the player to see if volume works.
Refresh isn't displaying anything, or doing anything I can see. Playlists say the file is corrupt...
    *#7780# - Soft reset
Apps\Music\music library (61 songs).. go in, "Repairing corrupted library. Searching for music and podcasts"
After a little while... 2 hundred and something found...
    Yup, all there...
    Guess what...
    Volume control is screwed again!
Manually telling it to scan for new tracks doesn't do anything.
    *#7780# - Soft reset
Apps\Music\music library (276 songs)... Go in "Repairing corrupted library....."
2 seconds later "Search complete 0 file(s) added"
All albums there, still no volume control.
    Okay, that enough... No more...
Hopefully that is enough to give Nokia a clue as to what is wrong, and may I just make a slight suggestion.
TEST WITH MORE THAN HALF A DOZEN TRACKS YOU **^(*&)(*)(*(*£$%^*(#!
I'm off to buy a 7lb club hammer.

Last night I had a thought...
I wondered if the N97's Music player was getting upset when scanning my music because I had the jpg of the album cover in the folder with it (I tend to do that). As I hadn't bothered reloading any music since my last hard reset I thought I would give it a try.
I removed all non-mp3 files from my music folders.
Connected N97 in PC Suite mode
Started Nokia Music PC app and transferred one album. Let it finish, closed the PC Nokia Music app, gave it a few seconds to settle, disconnected the N97 and had a look.
It appeared in the music player and worked.
Ooooh, right, in for a penny, in for a pound as they say... I connected it back up and sent over another 6 albums. Again closed the Nokia Music app... Waited a few seconds and disconnected the N97.
Went and had a look... "Library corrupt, scanning.... blah blah"... Oh dear, here we go again. But no, a progress bar actually appeared, and after a minute it said "0 file(s) added", but they were all there. All the album art appeared (I'd already embedded that in the mp3 files days ago). All the albums, all the music.
They played, and the volume worked!
Yay! Thinks me... Solved... And goes to bed a happy man.
I set my alarm (on the phone) for the morning and turn the phone off so nobody can phone me before my alarm (which really screws up my sleep!).
This morning the alarm goes off.
I hit stop. It asks if I want to turn the phone on, I say yes.
It asks for my lock code (which I have enabled). I enter it. It says code correct.
Flash of white on the screen... and it asks for my lock code again, which I enter... It says correct again.
This time I get the Nokia tune.
It comes up to the normal front screen, jumps itself onto the application screen, throws up a system error and reboots.
It comes back up (without asking for a pin) and this time settles at the front screen looking for all the world like a working phone... A text message arrives to prove at least that's working.
Hmmm... I wonder about my music...
Well it's all there... But guess what... Volume control doesn't work again!
Oh and clicking "Podcasts", of which I have zero, still produces, and has always produced (even straight after a hard reset), the message "Out of memory, please remove something"... Pressing it again produces "System Error". After that nothing in the Music Library menu works, all produce "System Error". You have to close it and restart to get anything in Music Library to "work".
I wouldn't say I am short of memory. DeviceInfo (from moubail.com) Shows

  • Iphone 4s ios7 music player was not working, here's a bug fix.

    hi there
i had a problem with my wifes iphone 4s, today morning while travelling to work i changed a setting on repeat option and changed it to repeat artist, it was fine until when i finish my work and on my way back i found songs are not playing anymore, lots of stop signs next to my song list, play/pause button not working, album arkwork keep moving from one to another on its own, so after i reach home i try to do some research on Apple support communities, try to soft reset my phone closing all the apps on background didnt work, also note that control centre music player was not working as well. none of the solutions worked. after trying for two hours i found out that the trouble is in repeat options , so i changed it from repeat artist to repeat off. and the music start playing as usual, but i still have those stop buttons next to the songs i tried to play earlier. At least it fixed temporarily. please also note that in the meantime i tried to sync my phone with the pc and suddenly its start syncing all the songs again assuming there were no songs on my iphone.  so guys i think soft reset might not help all the time but try to remember what settings you changed recently and change it back to the original option, not sure ,but it might help. hopin this will help some of you out there. and i already feed it back to Apple, so hopefully they will fix it soon.

Not sure why you are having problems. I have had no problems with my 4S playing music after the update. Hopefully you will get it worked out.
