Music Player forgets place and starts over

So I use both the native HTC music player and have also used the DoubleTwist music app and have experienced this issues with everything.  
ISSUE:  My music and podcasts will start over after I pause and come back later and hit "play" to resume
Details:
I have used multiple combinations of syncing methods and music player applications and cannot pinpoint the cause or find a fix.  If I pause a podcast or song, come back to it later either after using the phone, browsing the web, or switching from car aux to headset and hit play, the mp3 will start from the beginning.  It does not happen 100% of the time which makes this very hard to troubleshoot / diagnose
Further info / troubleshooting:
I have installed the Doubletwist handheld app / desktop client and synced my music to SD card.  Issue occurs with player app and desktop widget on device.
I have completely deleted all mp3 files from SD card and re synced my entire library using the iSyncr app with iTunes
I have used both the HTC native player & widget - same issue
I have installed the Pure music widget which integrates with the HTC native player - same issue
I have done standard battery reset
I have performed full factory reset
Issue seems to have a lot to do with plugging in / out headphones or running other apps like browser or email while mp3 is paused.  If I pause and exit out and then to back in the app to resume it works just fine.  But if its and extended period of time or running other apps for a while it occurs almost guaranteed.  Maybe it has to do with other processes heavily using the OS resources and clearing out the music cache
My Incredible came with 2.2 but some people seem to be complaining on other forums that this issue began with the 2.2 updated but I never had 2.1 to verify issue on
I have been unable to pinpoint the exact cause as sometimes it will resume but most of the time it will restart when I hit play.  There are many other forums that have reported and this issue does not seem to be limited to the Incredible but may be an HTC issue in general with 2.2
Whatever the issue is, this is a HUGE annoyance.  Especially when I am in the middle of a 2 hour podcast I loose my spot and have to drag around the scrub bar for 5 minutes trying to find out where I was.  Anyone that has used the iphone or ipod knows this feature works flawlessly and even remembers your places when you switch from one podcast to another and go back.  Anyone else seen this issue?

FINALLY! Thank you - this was all you needed to say; nothing was clear before! I was tapping on everything I could see, but not on the album  art for an individual song! I have never , ever seen those icons before, so I have no idea how the repeat even got switched on... Thank you both very much for your patience & sticking with me on this!

    I've transferred music between computers like that, and I have NEVER been able to transfer play counts and ratings, which can be pretty frustrating, but hey at least you have all your music. If you want to start over, just select all your iTunes songs and erase them, and then open the music files on your harddrive or iPod or wherever they are, and you should be fine. If it bothers you seeing a zero next to the playcount, you can try hiding the playcount under the settings so you won't be reminded of it. I don't think it's possible to transfer playcounts, but if it is then good luck, and I hope this helps!

    Rebuilding your library from the contents of your device is possible (see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device) but I wouldn't recommend this as an approach to cleaning up your library if you don't have to. You could, for example, delete the current iTunes Library.itl file and then reimport the contents of the media folder. This would wipe out all playlists, ratings, play counts, and clean up any dead links in the library, but might still show any previously duplicated content, and iTunes is likely to wipe and reload your device next time you sync.
    Why not tackle the issues in your library?

  • Previously downloaded songs stop and start over during re-download.

    I have several questions, and I'm hoping that someone can help me out with at least one of them. I have a 4th generation iPod Touch, and recently I had to start syncing to another computer after all of the USB ports on my computer stopped working out of nowhere (help on that issue would also be appreciated). Everything seemed to be working fine, I was manually managing my music and burned some CDs to transfer to my iPod. They transferred smoothly, and then afterwards I moved all of the tracks on the computer onto an external hard drive and deleted them from iTunes because the memory was getting too full. I hadn't even plugged the iPod back in or synced it wirelessly after that, but out of nowhere all of the music from the CDs and 78 tracks that I purchased on the iPod just deleted. I got all but one of the purchased songs back, and with that one, when I re-download it the meter fills almost all the way and starts over (this is all being done from the iPod itself). It has been doing this for several hours. In attempt to move all of the music from the CDs back, I took the music from the external hard drive and manually moved it to my iPod through iTunes. When I look at the iPod in iTunes, it appeared as if all of my music was back. On the device, however, the CDs still weren't there. I eventually gave up hope and ejected my iPod, only to realize that some of my music purchased on the iPod had lost its cover art. In effort to fix this (and this has worked before), I erased all of said songs and started to re-download from the Purchased list in iTunes (on the device). Now, all of the songs in the process of being re-downloaded have a gray music note next to them in the Downloads list and either say "Download error", act like the song mentioned earlier, or do nothing at all. I really just want my purchased music back, so if you know anything about the issue or have experienced something similar, please help me!

    I suggest for you to add all the songs to your iTunes library. Once everything is in place, sync it to your iPod. You may also try wireless syncing as well.

    Close the Music app and reboot the iPad and then try again.
    Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I can only open one PDF in session. If I try to open a different one, I get the same as before. The only way to see a different PDF is to close the browser and start over. A bit hassle with sites requiring a password.

    Many web sites have links to multiple PDF files. I have no trouble reading the first PDF file, but if I try to open a different one, I always get the first one I opened. Firefox ignores the other links and goes back to the first one. The only remedy seems to be to close Firefox and start over again. This is a hassle for sites requiring a username and password to enter. What's wrong here?

    Do you have Adobe Reader X or Adobe Reader 9.something?
    I think this is a problem with the newest version of Adobe Reader which came out about 5-6 days ago.

    Try close all inactive apps
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.

    Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
    If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
    you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

  • The spinning "wheel of death" does NOT go away! I've loaded too much stuff on my computer (including the entire Adobe CS6 software) and I want to delete everything on my macbook pro and start over? How do I clean everything up without buying MacKeeper?

    I use my MacBook Pro (Late 2009) for EVERYTHING and I have loaded so many apps, even doubles of some, I think!   My computer is running really SLOW and I think it is because I don't have enough memory. 
    I just installed the new Adobe CS6 and that was a BIG mistake.  The spinnning wheel of death doesn't stop! I wish I could load that program on my computer so I can use it "on the go", but I can't stand the spinning wheel! 
    I want to clean up my computer and get rid of EVERYTHING on it!!     Then, re-install the factory settings to run Lion.  I believe this will make the wheel stop spinning.
    However, how do I make sure that all of the extra stuff that is attached to the app, ( including all the cache') is deleted too?   I don't want to have to buy MacKeeper! 
    I am hoping the computer wizards or the apple team can give me an answer on how to clean up everything and start over.  I have saved everything on my desktop mac. 

    Thank you so much for the help!  I had heard bad things about MacKeeper and I don't want to screw up my macbook  any more than it already is!  I will do as you suggest.  Do you believe this is the best solution for the problem I described?

    1. To delete the catalog, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalogs. Application data is a hidden folder which requires that you enable the setting in Windows that displays hidden files. For this, in Windows Explorer, go to Tools>folder options>View tab>check "show hidden files & folders">apply.
    2.To make a new catalog, go to Files>Catalog>new.

    I purchased a iPhone 5, and after completing a backup of my old iPhone 3GS, I in error selected Set Up as a New iPhone in the Setup Assistant.
    I connected to iTunes and did a Restore iPhone, which set the iPhone5 back to factory defaults, and I was able to restart the Setup Assistant, and following the apple support instructions, restored from my 3GS backup and synced with my iTunes account.  The Restore kept my phone number intact.
    I was worried that I would lose the setup of my phone number that was done in the store, but everything worked perfectly.

    Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account (this disconnects the device from icloud but doesn't delete any data on icloud or on other devices).
    If you then want to sign back in using a different ID, do so on the same screen.
    I also strongly suggest that you and your wife use different icloud accounts, otherwise all your devices will have the same data on them, same emails, reminders, etc.  Most likely not what you want.
