Music playlist and photo slideshow

I Have an ipad 2 i open my music playlist and start playing music, i then open my photos and select slide show, after about 2 1/2 to 3 songs in,playlist just quits, anyone else have this problem??

if you have music in your library, when  tapping on slideshow a menu appears - Turn on music option.  when on a song should display below it - tapping it will take you to your library.
Photo App will give you access to all albums as set in settings\Photo
Camera - select camera roll - gives camera roll only but options for everything else
Slideshow timings is under Settings\Photo

my start up disc is full i have a macbook air, i back everuthing up with time capsule and  have movies all my music libraries and photos onto that too so as i have free space, but my max still says my startup disc is full with "other"

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
If you're using Time Machine to back up a portable Mac, some of the available space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of files you've recently deleted. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as "Backups." The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Upgrade to 7.4.3.1 - Lost Purchased Music, Playlists and Library

I upgraded to 7.4.3.1 last weekend. This weekend I start iTunes and none of my 100+ songs are listed in my library, all of my playlists are gone (replaced with the generic 90's Music, Music Videos, My Top Rated, Recently Added, Recently Played, Top 25 Most Played) playlists - all of which are empty. Also under the "Store" heading...my Purchased folder is gone. I must have had 30+ purchased songs in there.
Any ideas how to get everything back?

Hi, I had the EXACT same thing happen to me.
Upgrade to 7.4.3.1 - Lost Purchased Music, Playlists and Library.
I let iTunes update last Sunday 10/14/07 and today I opened it up and Vista started rebuilding the library, then crashed and said it did not have a solution to this problem and shut iTunes down.
It created a, iTunes Library (Damaged).itl file.
I tried the help file that said to drag the C:\Users\ME\Music\iTunes Music folder onto my Library folder but it crashed after transferring 20 songs or so.
All of my music is in this iTunes Music folder so it is just a matter of trying to get iTunes and Vista to rebuild my Library so I can recreate my Playlist.
So I will keep looking for a solution, but this is getting silly !

  • How do I empty trash after deleting music, apps and photos from my iPhone to make more room for upgrading to iOS 8.1?

How do I empty trash after deleting music, apps and photos from my iPhone to make more room for upgrading to iOS 8.1?  It says I don't have enough room to upgrade so I have deleted some of everything but do not see an improvement in my storage space. Help?

    No need to empty anything.
You can update by connecting your phone to iTunes on your computer. This way you bypass the space limitations.
    Good Luck

  • How do I find out which computer I sync music, videos and photos on?

I am about to update my iPhone to iOS 4.2 but it tells me that to preserve my media, I should apply this update on "the computer where you sync music, videos and photos". How do I find out what that computer is?

You should be regularly backing up then you can just move your library to a new computer and sync there.
If you don't have one then you will have to transfer purchases (grab a 3rd party program for non-purchased content) and then sync to the new computer

  • HT4914 If I subscribe to iTunes Match, can I download onto my new iPhone 6, just my music playlists and not my entire library?

If I subscribe to iTunes Match, can I download onto my new iPhone 6, just my music playlists and not my entire library? I have over 100 playlists and even more music not in playlists and I don't want to download all of it to my phone.
    Thanks

First read this: FAQ: Why iTunes Match Can Not Be Used as a Backup
So, before you sell your Mac make sure all your personal data is backed up to an external HDD then put that HDD in a safe place. When you return you will be able to use it to restore your data to the new Mac.
Before you sell your computer you must restore the original version OS X that was installed on it when you bought it. See this Apple KB article for how to prepare your Mac for sale: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5189.

  • Music playlist time exceeds slideshow time

For a reception honoring a 100th birthday, have slideshow of approx 350 slides approx time 35 min which I want to loop over a 3 hour period.
I have a 3 hour playlist that I would like to back the presentation period without repeating music.
If I run as slideshow from Mac (desktop) it does what I want.
But have exported/burned .mov file for optional Mac/PC laptop useage, but now find that slideshow does not auto loop and to restart, repeats same music .
Have I missed something?.... grateful for any comments.
    Thanks.....hvee
iMac Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Running iPhoto 6.0.5

    hvee:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not sure what the cause is but are you running the latest Quicktime version. There have been other issues with audio and iPhoto slideshows.
    I have a possible workaround.
1 - import the movie into iMovie.
2 - in the time line select the video track and use the Advanced->Extract audio menu option.
3 - once the audio track is separated and placed in the audio time line track delete it.
4 - add the iTunes tracks you want from the Media/Audio pane in iMovie.
4 - save to the format you want.
That should give you the optimum control over the music with fade in and out, etc.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Assigning a music playlist to a slideshow -- similar to Front Row

I don't yet have a AppleTV, but considering one -- the main reason is to view photos. With Front Row, say you create "slideshow A" with music from an iTunes playlist "set A" and "slideshow B" with music from playlist "set B". When you play back "slideshow A" you'll always hear set A music and when you play "slideshow B" you'll always hear set B music. I've read AppleTV doesn't work this way and you can not assign a specific music playlist to a specific slideshow or photo album. Is this true?

Yes and No, but essentially No.
It is possible to set specific music to play during a slideshow but it will apply to every slideshow. So hence it would be necessary to choose your music before commencing any slideshow if you wanted specific music to play.
There is another option which might be difficult to explain since you don't have an tv but here goes: a slideshow on the tv isn't the same as a slideshow in iphoto. Generally most people will sync photo albums to the tv, the tv will then add music and transitions to those pictures depending on which music and transition options you have chosen on the tv, hence what I said above.
As you likely know, iphoto can create its own slideshows that include music and transitions depending on the options you choose in iphoto. If you sync these slideshows to the tv rather than photo albums then the tv will ignore its own settings and use the settings you have chosen in iphoto instead, providing you have synced that music to the tv also.

  • How to apply a specific music for each photo slideshow

I'd like to setup a specific music for a specific photo slideshow, and to store that preferences, in some way, so that, on selecting a slideshow, automagically startup the specific song.
    Is it possible ?
    Seems not ... yet.

You can do that by preparing the slideshow in iphoto instead of on the tv, you then have to ensure you sync the slideshow and the tunes you have used in the slideshow before playing it on the tv.

  • Itouch/iphone 2.0 software music, vid and photo resume problem

    Hi all,
Not sure whether anyone else is getting the same problem or not but I seem to have problems resuming after I installed the 2.0 software upgrade.
For example if I am listening to music and I watch a video then return to listening music, the music does not resume from the last one I was playing. Instead it just goes back to my Song List. And same in reverse. If I was watching a movie halfway and then go back to the video list all it shows is the top of the list. In the old 1.1.4 software it used to go back to the same position on the list as I was previously at.
This issue also happens with Photos. For example if I was viewing a picture in the Photos page and then go to another option such as Music, Video etc. When I return to the Photo page all it does is go back to my Albums and not the last picture I was viewing.
This issue never happened with the old software and it is really frustrating when I watch a video and then try to listen the previous song I listened to but instead it just goes back to the default page.
I have just played around with it and it seems ok when I try to view photos when I am listening to music. When I go back to the music it still resumes from the current song I am listening to.
But it still does not do it when I listen to music, then watch video. Like I said, it just goes back to the Song List which means that I have to search again for the song that I was last playing and play that. And that also means that I have to start my playlist again from the start and it reshuffles again.
Is this how it's meant to be from now on? Or just a bug?
Please fix this as this is a really annoying problem when I try to resume the previous song I am listening to.
    Thanks.

I am also experiencing the same issues, is there any fix or setting I can alter so that it doesn't reset my music playlist when I watch a video?

  • Trouble with itunes playlist and iphoto slideshow

    Hello,
I have created the slideshow in iphoto with background music from a playlist from itunes. It all looks great and plays perfectly in iphoto but after the conversion into a movie using Quicktime only the first song from the playlist accompanies the slideshow. I have done this before with an earlier slideshow and it all worked out great: Slideshow became movie accompanied by the whole playlist. This problem seems to have occurred since I upgraded to itunes 7.6 and Quicktime 7.4 Any ideas or hints would greatly appreciated.

my advice has always been to rebuid any arrays with the new OS.
    backup, delete, restore/reload
And invest in SoftRAID for your driver for all drives but esp. for mirror.
TimeMachine - I'd pull your current backup drive and use a new one.
    And clone.
Never rely on one backup set, or method.
iTunes has always been.... interesting. Maybe someone in iTunes forums, and Lion community.
I have always had iTunes and my media/data personal account home folder (back to 10.2 days) on separate drive volumes. Often stripped. Vista + itunes + RAID = corrupt data, but that was 2007.
Shift launch iTunes. Told it where Media Library is. There are Apple support articles to cover this.
