Music plays screen doesnt show

My second gen. ipod nano plays music from my ihome but the screen is blank all it does is light up how do i get the screen working

Been through these?
The Five Rs.
Does the nano work when you use it normally? If so, the fault may be with particular accessory. Not all of them are compatible with the second generation nano.

Ipod shuffle 4th gen charges plays but doesnt show up in windows or itunes tried to check usb driver but computer says it is working properly

Just disconnecting it without ejecting should not cause permanent damage.  It may cause data corruption, if iTunes was in the process of syncing at the time.  But iTunes should still see the shuffle and (maybe) tell you to Restore it.
Is it possible that the "accident" damaged the USB cable?
Make sure you have done this on the shuffle since the problem occurred
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
And you should also shut down (power off) the computer, if you have not already.
Have you tried more than one USB port on the computer (not a hub if you use one)?  You can also try it with all other USB devices disconnected, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if normally used).
If those things do not help, what version of Windows do you use?

I recently had my iphone 4s screen repaired because the screen was cracked. It was all ok and then a few weeks later something strange happened. My touchscreen works, but the screen doesnt show, you can see the light in the background but no picture? has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is, is it self-repairable or even repairable at al?

The LCD Display connector has partially come loose from the logic board connector, and simply needs to be pressed back down into place. Or the front screen assembly is now faulty, and needs to be replaced again.

  • Can apple fix my broken ipodtouch 4g if you can hear the sound but the screen doesnt show

can apple fix my broken ipodtouch 4g if you can hear the sound but the screen doesnt show

They will not fix it. What they do is replace rather then fix.
After Apple has examined it, they will determine if it is covered by warranty or not. If it is not, you will have to pay for the replacement.

  • IPod full of music... doesnt show up on ipod

So I got my new 60gig 5G ipod yesterday, after playing around with the video for a few hours I started transferring my music library to the ipod, which worked fine. I listened to it for a while last night and then went to bed. I woke up this morning, plugged it into the computer and everything worked as it should. I clicked on the ipod, and it showed all the songs and videos I had on there. then I went back to my library and dragged and dropped some more songs to the ipod and walked away. I cam back 1/2 hour later.. and itunes had the dialog "ipod setup assistant" asking me to name my ipod and select to auto sync and all that, like when i first took it out of the box.
So i hit cancel, and clicked on the ipod. it showed nothing in the ipod's library, yet it says i have used 17 gigs of space. i disconnected the ipod and settings>about.. it says:
    0 songs
    0 photos
    0 videos
    capacity 55.6 GB
    available 38.5 GB
so then i connected the ipod up to the computer and checked the hidden folders where all the music and such is stored, and the files are there.
I decided to try to add a few more songs. it transferred them ok and showed them on the ipod in itunes. then i disconnected and it still said there were no songs on the ipod (but still only 38 GB available).
anyone know why this happened? has this happened to anyone else?

I have an old 4th Gen iPod, and I was having similiar problems. One thing I noticed is that I had an Anti-Spyware program run while my iPod was connected and at one point it detected the iPod, but the spyware was called something like ()()(). Something nameless. What happened is that the Spyware treated my iPod songs as spyware and when i deleted all that it like corrupted my songs. I had to completely reset it to factory settings. The bad thing was i didn't save my music. I had to start from scratch. I do not recommend running an Anti-spyware while your iPod is plugged in. If you got scans scheduled maybe reschedule them or manually do it. This was on a PC however. Not MAC. Sorry for making you read this and telling you that at the end.

  • My macbook, from 2009, doesnt show any picture in a piece of his screen

My macbook is from 2009 and now a piece from his screen doesnt show any pictures anymore. I went to a shop from Apple and they told me that its a contact problem and to solve this it will cost about U$700, thats almost the price from a new mac! Does that mean that I have to buy a new Mac every 4 years?
Has someone else the same problem?
    How you solved this?

    Hi there
The quote for 700 is outrageous. It could be as simple as a loose connection or something not terribly expensive as a new screen. Did they tell you exactly what was to replaced for that 700 dollar diagnosis? Unfortunately, Apple seems to charge you 50 dollars for a screw, no wonder they are doing so well these days. Your Macbook uses a screen made by a manufacturer who makes the same screens for Laptops made by other manufactures who make "PC" laptops. Depending on screen size, you could purchase the screen on Ebay for about 100 dollars. Thats what I did with my MacBook which had a 13.3 inch LG Philips LP133WX1 (TL)(A1) LCD screen. I put it in myself, which is relatively easy. The hard part would be to replace the CCFL bulb inside the LCD if that went, now thats a bit trickier, but that isnt the case here, you are replacing the whole screen. I would call around, but I can almost guarantee you that it would cost you less than 200 dollars total for the screen and a local computer store to install that screen. Call the local shop that specializes in mac first, then call a local PC shop for a second quote to have some leverage. Some places seems to charge double or triple if it has a Apple logo on it.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

  • Music plays continuously on my ipod touch

Music plays continuously on my ipod touch

Does that mean you can't turn off/pause the Music app?
If you mean that a sng or playliest repeats but yu can pause/stop it witht he muisc ontroles it appears that you have the Repeat feature turned on. On the music playing screen, on the left had side of the screen right below the scrugger is the Repeat control. It is the arrowed racetrack icon. Tap the icon until it is white.

  • When my Nano is connected to my computer, it shows that I have music downloaded to it, but when i touch the screen to play the music, it is not showing up and is not available to play.  I've tried reloading it with no success

When my Nano is connected to my computer, it shows that I have music downloaded to it, but when i touch the screen to play the music, it is not showing up and is not available to play.  I've tried reloading it with no success

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

  • Itunes freezes when I try to play music video or tv show - bought on Itunes

    Hi everyone,
I've been using iTunes since Christmas and it has been working smoothly enough until today.
Today I've had my PC upgraded. I don't know much about computers but apparently there's twice as much space as there used to be and better graphics. I tried testing this by playing a tv show from on iTunes but it didn't work. Whether it's a music video or tv show, anything that requires 'watching' the screen goes black and flickers back and forth between the black screen and a frozen iTunes as if the video is about to play.
Can anyone let me know how to fix this? Has it something to do with the upgrade?
Let me know if I need to provide anymore info.
    Many thanks,
    YIB

  • Music plays but there's no menu on the screen

A few days ago the menu on my iPod nano disappeared. It still plays music but the menu isn't there so I really can't do much with it. It's a first generation nano. Anyone know what I can do?

    1. This is the iPod mini, not the First Generation iPod nano Forums (although not that big a deal, in the future you will typically find more help in there).
    2. What do you mean by "the menu on my iPod nano disappeared"? What menu? What screen does show?

  • Backed up music on external drive doesnt show on new computer

k, I backed up my music onto an external drive. I go into another computer of mine and tell it that the library is on this external drive. It knows this and for what i'm concerned it puts music to it. But it doesnt show my existing music that i downloaded on the first computer or the purchases that i have made on on the other computer? Should it show these? do i just start over [which is not what i want to do]? Do I update?

decided to backup my iTunes library to an external hard drive incase of a crash so I dont loose my precious music. So I went into my preferences, Advanced, and changed the iTunes folder location to my external, and consolidated the library which backed up my files to the drive
This is not a backup. This copies everything in iTunes to the new location and iTunes will use that location from now on.
The music located in /Music/iTunesiTunes music/ folder is no longer needed or used by iTunes.
However whenever I would click a song to play it said it could not find the file
iTunes was looking for it on the external (which you probably unplugged/umnounted).
I am wondering since I backed up the library to the external drive
You did not back up the library to the external.
You consolidated everything in iTunes to the external and iTunes will use that.
As Jim noted, if you want to to backup, copy the entire iTunes folder.
    Jim'
If you somehow lost it, look for it in the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder in your music folder.
The itl file gets copied into the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder only when you update iTunes.

I have 60gb ipod classic.  Music plays, but screen is blank or white.  Resetting has not worked.  Lines show when reset, but no Apple logo.  Is display shot?

    Hello Paul,
I would be concerned too if my display on my iPod classic was not working.  I recommend going through the steps in this tutorial.  If it is a software issue, these steps should resolve the issue:
