Music Randomly Starts Playing

Since upgrading to 5.0, my blackberry tour does this annoying thing where it randomly starts playing the music I uploaded onto it.  I'll listen to music on my blackberry while I'm at the gym and when I'm done I hit the stop button.  Then I'll be standing in an elevator at work the next day and music will start randomly blasting from my phone.  Needless to say this is rather embarrassing and obnoxious.  Anybody else have a similar problem or have any ideas on how to fix it?  Thanks.

Have you received a MMS message with music attached lately?
Read this thread:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Tour-9630/Unwanted-ringtone-plays-after-normal-rin...
The fix for many has been to delete that MMS message, delete the randomlt playing and song and then do a reboot of the device:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

  • IPhone 4 - My music randomly starts playing

My phone will be off and then all of a sudden my music starts playing. It can either be my itunes music or pandora. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

I have the same issue but with my ipad. Anyone know why this happens or how to stop it? It's quite embarrasing since it starts playing in the middle of class or when out running errands.

  • Is anyone else having issues with music randomly starting on iOS 7.1?

I've had this issue since  I downloaded iOS 7.1.  My music will just randomly start playing without me clicking play and sometimes without any of my music apps even open.  I catch it the most when I get into my car and connect to my Bluetooth.  It connects and then starts playing so I have to pull my phone out and pause it.  Last night I used my flash light and shut my flash light off and my music started playing.   It's really getting annoying...

Has any fix been found? I have noticed it as well, even after a hard reset and a reinstall of the system. I mostly notice it when I plug in heaphones (or unplug them) but it has happened other times as well.

  • ITunes randomly starts playing media

My iTunes (10.5.1) will randomly start playing music or podcasts without prompting.  In the last 30 min. it has started playing 6 times without me pressing play or interacting w/ iTunes at all. I have a MBP w/ Snow Leopard. It's really a bother when I'm not in my classroom and it interrupts another teacher's lesson! His solution was to close the cover and it stopped. It only seems to happen in the 9 a.m. hour, which is just weird! Anyone else experience this or have any ideas on how to fix it?

So I think I have this figured out.  The other teacher is using an Apple Remote to control his Keynote presentation and it not only advances his presentation, but he is starting my iTunes!
Funny. (Also, I feel kind of silly.)

  • IPad randomly started playing music

No joke. I was watching a video on Netflix, and this music started playing. I thought it was a part of the show until it played through the  intro of the series. So I hit the home button and it stopped. It hasn't done it again but it was creaking strange. It wasn't even a song I own. It was piano instrumental. This happen to anyone else???

I can't figure out how you started music playing.
In silent mode, iPhone doesn’t ring or play alerts and other sound effects. However, clock alarms, audio apps such as iPod, and many games still play sounds through the built-in speaker when iPhone is in silent mode.

  • IPod app randomly starts playing

Anyone have this happen? The iPod app starts up randomly, even if the phone is in sleep mode. Any solutions?
I have tried several hard reboots, and the problem persists.

This has happened to me several times also and I never can figure out why. It happened again today and here is what I was doing...in case someone from Apple reads this.
I was listening to music. I hit pause and exited the Ipod. I then put the Iphone into the sleep mode or whatever it is called with the button on top.
I left my headphones in because I was in a really noisy area and I was expecting a call.
I was wearing Sony earbuds with no microphone or anything else special...just earbuds.
Well after about 30 minutes...boom...the ipod just suddenly comes on and starts playing music while it is in my pocket.....
    Apple please help....

  • Spotify randomly starts playing tracks by itself.

Hi all,I'm hoping someone can help me with this. It is becoming enough for me to want to cancel my premium subscription and switch to another service  as it is extremely annoying. Typical behaviour:Example 1:- I play tracks from an album.- I pause mid-way through a track, lock my machine and briefly walk away- I return to my machine to hear it playing random (yet similar) songs that I have never listened to before. Usually weird ambient sound scape such as the sound of people drinking in a bar or nature. Example 2: - I am listening to an album, suddenly the same random ambient sound tracks will start playing. If I look at spotify connect - I can see there is an option for "Spotiamb 0.2.1" - this is something I have never installed and have no idea what it is. Could this be somehow related? Any help would be much appreciated.  Another user is getting this exact same issue: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Windows-Web/Random-unsolicited-song-hijacks-plays-automatically

I'm having the same issues. My girlfriend got up around 3am the other morning because she heard my ipod touch play songs (32 GB, 3rd generation) as well. I'm also having problems with video sorting. For example: I have 3 seasons of this show called The Mighty Boosh (good show btw) and it is sorting by episodes. It's hard to explained:
    1st season has 8 episodes
    2nd season 6
    3rd season 6
So it is sorting: episode 1 from season 2, episode 1 from season 3, episode 1 from season 1 and then episode 2 from season 2 and blah blah blah, you get the picture don't you?
I called apple and I did a reset to factory setting and put all 20 episodes back in and the problem is still there. It all started when I updated ipod to 3.1.1 ver or what ever the last ver. one was and the new itunes 9. But the songs playing by itself is something that I have yet found out why is doing it. And its like evey few hours. I would hate to return it and get a refurbish because this was brand new and thats what exactly what the are going to do if I return it. So I am hoping that it is a ver. issue or maybe new itunes related so I won't have to return it and get a refurbished one.

  • My music randomly stops playing while using meetme app.

whenever using my iphone 5s my music will stop playing happans with local music and spotify i contacted apple support and they wanted to bring it in to look at it. any ideas?

    Hi,
I am having the same problem with my iPhone ever since I have upgraded to the 1.1.1 firmware. I have had the following problems.
-Music stops playing when surfing the web.
-After listening to music and exiting iPod mode. The play icon in the status bar still appears. To fix this I initiate iPod mode, play, then pause the song and exit ipod mode.
-Bluetooth icon apears in status bar randomly. I just go into settings and turn the bluetooth off. I think this happens when I go in and out of air plane mode.
-Screen freezes. I just wait and it usually unfreezes or I have to reset the device.
I have 3-4 gigs of free space.
and have tried reseting the phone to fix the problems.
    Thanks
    -James

  • Music randomly stops playing (same problem in multiple apps)

Since a few days, my Z1C will randomly stop playing sound, while I'm listening music. It will do this up to multiple times per minute, seems somewhat like a online game lagging really badly, after which it will just pause.
It does this on multiple apps (I tried it on the following
    - Spotify
    - Walkman (or whatever the music app is called now)
    - Audible (audiobooks)
The issue happens both when I listen through my bluetooth headphones (Jaybird bluebuds x) as well as on speaker.
I have had the phone for somewhat more than a year now, I recon. The headphone jack is broken because of my own rough handling, but that wasn't a big deal so far because I use bluetooth anyway.
Anyone know what to do about this?

    Hi Bmot,
    Welcome to the community.
You could try booting the device in to safemode, at least this way you can find out if software is the suspect or if it is more likely hardware.

  • When I'm browsing the internet, my macbook randomly starts playing the audio of video's I've watched before.

It's happened at least three times now, I'll just be browsing through my regular websites, and then suddenly through my headphones I'll hear the audio of a video I watched somewhat recently, (like 1-3 days). It happened today, I was scrolling through some website, and then it just started playing the "Trolololol" song. I only had that one tab open, and there were no other programs that could have possibly done it. I can't help but think there's a virus, or somebody toying around with me. HELP!

    Hi..
    Doubt it's a virus...
If you are using Safari, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/LibrarySafari
    Click Go
Move these files from the Safari folder to the Trash.
    LastSession.plist
    History.plist
    Downloads.plist
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Randomly starts playing

This has been happening for a while now but I've lost all tolerance. When I'm done listening to my iPod touch I'll put it on the desk, a while later I can hear the music start up again. Nothing touches it but it starts randomly playing for seemingly no reason. Oddly if I unplug the earbuds it won't play. Does anyone no whats going on and how to fix this? (Don't tell me to just unplug the earbuds every time)

Mine does it to....only with the mic headphones plugged in.
    Check this thread

Seems like a software update could fix the issue. I just unplug my headphones for now.

  • Music randomly stops playing.

I recently purchased the new iTouch 4G. I haven't had it for no more than 3 weeks. About a week ago, I was listening to some music and it just stopped playing. It has done the same thing a couple more times. The iTouch has also randomly reset it's self. I tried restoring it and it has done the same things it's been doing. Do you guys think it's a defected iPod Touch? What do you suggest I do?

Tough problem. It can be an app causing those issues. Even a restore wouldnt fix a bad app from harm.
Because that problem is hard to reproduce(its random) what I would do, is delete a few apps at a time, and continue like everything is fine.
You have an entire year it is a defective touch. So within that time, just try to find out if its an app.

  • How do i get my videos/ music to start playing again in itunes?

I just downloaded some videos from icloud but now i cannot watch any of the videos or listen to any music in my library, when i select a song or video to play, itunes just scrolls down all the songs/videos without playing them.

  • Itunes randomly starts playing on my older imac since I uploade Yosemite.

Using a 4 year old imac, in the cloud with an iphone 5s and an 11" newer air
Do most of my work on the imac. Since i upgraded to yosemite, itunes on the imac starts randomly.
    Any suggestions.

You are not going to be able to run your old system from the backup on this old computer as the hardware is incompatible.
You need to get a new computer or a refurbished one.

  • IPhone 5 iOS7.0.4 Music Randomly Stops Playing

Beginning the week of 12/24/13, when listening to phone's Music app, or Amazon Cloud Player, songs will stop at random times.  Sometimes 10 seconds in, sometimes 1:30 minutes in.  No particular reason, just stops.
    I did the following:
Shut down apps completely and restarted
Shut phone done completely and restarted
Adjusted settings so that only music downloaded to phone was being shown (nothing from the cloud)
Connected to iTunes and un-synced all apps, music, movies, etc so that there was basically nothing on the phone.  Then re-synced all.
    Restored phone from backup
    Problem still exists.
I would do a factory reset, but if the issue is with the software, then reinstalling bugging software wouldn't do any good.
I've looked through this community board for other suggestions and think I've done all of them that have been presented.  Looking for additional assistance.
Note: I've been streaming music from Slacker app this morning and had no problems, which leads me to believe it's something with the software.
