Music Slider Key broken of my nokia 5610

The problem with my nokia 5610 is that i didnt drop the phone at all but its music slider key broken and its look so ugly without it, is there any possibility of replacing it? Anyone had similar problem as mine?? plz help!!

Please note that i have the same issue, where in the slide is so delicate that whenever you put in you pocket or jacket & when you are taking it out, if a small thread gets stuck inside the music slide button, it will break, i am suprised with this fact as too why has nokia created a slide button with such low quality plastics, also this button would be the most used button of all & must have been the strongest of all, currently i am using the phone without the slide & trust me its not a pretty sight to see. I am not sure if prority centers in Bangalore, India have the part or if i have to spend a fortune to get it replaced, as i have heard nokia spares are one of the most expensive :-( as compared to the competition.
Does anyone agree with me? Request nokia support to check on this please respond.

I have nokia 5610 and by regular use its Music Slider Key has been broken off. I went to Nokia care center and got the response that this part is not available yet in market. Can any one please let me know if nokia provide any support for this?

I'm very upset with Nokia: when I took mine to their Tech Support in Lisbon, to have the slider changed, they accused me of "abusing Nokia" and of having carelessly treated the phone (the phone is new and in pristine conditions). The response was that if it was a problem with the phone they would have known - apparently by reading the posts in this forum this phone has many shell and plastic problems. What's worst, they were very rude!
I went afterwards to Vodafone (where I bought it) that confirmed it was a common default and they told me it would be repaired under warranty.
How does it that an operator knows more about phones (and is more polite) then the maker?

Nokia 5610 express music slide problem

hi frndz!
i hav bought new nokia 5610. For answering the calls i hav set the settings to " answer on opening the slide". Bt whenever i open the slide to answer the call, i get connected to the cal after 3-4sec on opening the slide.
So is this problem being faced by me only or is it a general problem in the handset.

I have reparied my slider key once already. This is indeed a very bad problem. Here it costed me USD 20 for getting it repaired from Nokia. The replaced has already started developing cracks inspite of minimal usage and carrying it in a ultra soft "Case Logic" mobile cover. Hello,
i have a severe problem with my phone(Nokia 5610 XPress Music). What happened was, just before a month ago,i have an accident and in it, one of the buttons(the button on front face of the phone,color-black,function - with its help, the screen slides left to right or vice versa) of my mobile has broken down and got up from the phone.
Now the place of the button is empty and i can't even brought up my cell phone in public place.
In this situation, with a heavy heart wanted to know, if parts(specialy that button) of that model are available in my country(Bangladesh)/wanted to know the possible time margin of when i can have that available.
Please help me, I am in great pain.

My failure of a Nokia 5610 Xpress Music

Long story short, i've had the phone about 2 months, and have had problems from day one. I'm currently trying to resolve the issue with nokia but what i'd like to know is would there be anyway to fix these problems myself. I love the phone but i've not gone one day yet where it hasn't had one of these problem. I updated the firmware to the latest but i've still got problems and it even caused a few more.
Here are the problems i've flagged to nokia.
1. Java applications cannot access the GPRS connection but the in-phone browser can. The nokia wapsite refused to admit my phone exists and has no settings.
2. The phone used to crash every 4-5minutes of listening to songs, and upon resetting would need to rescan for music files. Upon updating the phones firmware to the latest version the phone now does it about once or twice an hour. While this is better it's still not really acceptable.
3. The phone logs ALL messages as being recieved an hour before the actual time, this problem only occured AFTER updating to the latest firmware.
4. The music/radio/phone selector button broke off in my pocket but had always been shakey before this. A quick internet search reveals this as not unheard of. My assumption is that the exposed nature of the phone now means any water resistant nature it had is compromised. I still have the button.
5. The phone will loose signal at random points where i know signal is perfect or after the phone crashes and resets and reports perfect/no 3G reception which i don't get anyway.
6. On occasion the phone itself will play recieved calls through the loudspeaker and will not switch it off. Upon resetting the phone there is no signal until the phone is reset a further time, this problem only ALSO occured AFTER updating to the latest firmware

1GB Nokia MicroSD card (supplied with the phone)
Used within the UK on the O2 network.

I think you're mis-handling your phone
I've been using my 5610 for 4 months and my friend for 8 months and our slider keys are still working fine
And from 6.60 you can immediately update to 8.30
For the GPRS connection, scroll to your java app, click Options > Application access > Communication > Network Access > Always Allowed
And please don't push for a refund, there are many other people with the same issues

Nokia 5610 express music button issue

I brought a nokia 5610 before 3 months. . . in the 3nd month the music button got a crack and by 9 weeks it was in my hands . . .i went to the nokia care shop ....they re like it will take time .. . i have been hearin this answer for the past 3 months . . .i am feelin to give a complain in CONSUMER RIGHTS DEPARTMENT now . . .did i waste my Rs. 13,000 for this. . .it looks wierd and ugly . . . without da button . . .its betta to throw dan havin . . .but who will get me back my money . . .i want an answer or this problem id gonna be big...i don mind the buttons are not original also ...but i just have to get replaced.....or elz ??

I am facing the exact issue! had bought Nokia 5610 in January and just within 5 weeks I saw a crack in the slider button. It has completely come off now.
I've browsed all Nokia Care centers in Hyderabad and none of them seem to be capable enough to get the panel changed. I feel frustrated as I look at my "Ugly" phone without button...repent that it is the same phone that made me fall for its looks few months ago.
Also, they are telling me that since it is a Hardware problem we do not cover it under warranty...and it would Cost me around Rs 1500 to get the panel replaced. My Question and Suggestion to Nokia is > Why to have such a delicate design, at first place. Did we spend 13K for something that is bound to be broken. I am sure you will receive many similar complaints.
If anyone is reading this, please help me out of this Button Trouble.

Nokia 5610 Slide button repair help

The slide button on my Nokia 5610 express music has cracked and fallen of. I was wondering if any one had managed to successfully repair the button themselves.

The 24 month warranty should cover its repair free of charge. Just take it to a Nokia Care centre near you with the proof of purchase.
I took my daughter's 5610 for the slider button to be repaired today and they fixed it the same day under the warranty! Also, since the 5610 was only launched in the UK in Q4 2007, they didn't even ask to see the proof of purchase in my case probably as it's obviously less than 24 months since launch.
Of course it probably helped that it clearly looked well cared for other than the missing slider.

Nokia 5610 key sequence to turn on Bluetooth

Hi!
The screen on my Nokia 5610 stopped working. Or I can see that it's working since the light on the screen changes on startup. Though it's still black. Does anybody know how to fix the screen?
Anyway I want contacts back that I thought I saved on my SIM card but I didn't. So can you help me out with the key sequence to turn on bluetooth?
I think it's something like left top button (shortcuts),down x4... Or something like this.

Nokia 5610 Xpress Music - Problem with Application...

Hi all..
I have a problem in my Nokia 5610 Xpress Music.
I can't access Applications! When I enter an application, a message says:"supportive file. nothing to display". However, I can enter some of the 'Applications' from the 'Go to' button in the stand by screen. My 'Calculator' has disappeared from my Organizer.
If anyone helps to solve this problem, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most of us here are just nokia users like you or anybody else who asks a problem here and seeks a solution.We are not professionals,and only try to help others.
Now, in this present case: For an instance,The calculator has disappeared. It is a part of firmware which cannot be edited.If it was a symbian phone then there was a possibility of developing a patch.But, with s40's the only option you have is to go for an firmware upgrade,if you can do it by yourself then well enough.Otherwise you need to visit the care center where you can get your firmware updated or get a stable firmware which has a calculator.

can i custom the 5 way navigation key of my n5610 XpresMusic???
like putting the 5 way navigation key of the 7610 supernova to the 5610 if the size is the same or the 5way navi key of the Nokia X3?? so i can easily pressed the navi keys of the 5610.

Nokia 5610 slider phone "jiggly" when open?

Hi, I'm a new owner of the Nokia 5610 and just wondering whether the "jiggly" feeling of the phone when it is open is normal. I've used slider phones before and my samsung felt solid even when open.
The upper part of the phone seems loosely connected to the bottom half when it is open, and when I'm pressing the buttons, there is "give" or jiggle. Is this normal for this phone or a build quality problem with my set?

Hmm so it's normal? It smacks of poor build quality from Nokia: my Samsung slider phone felt solid whether closed or open.

Nokia C7 unlock key broken as its projecting out

I accidentally got my C7 unlock key broken. I took it to nokia service center.. They said me that it doesnt include in warranty.. They ask me 2000 INR to change completely.. a small piece of projecting plastic switch got broken,how can i spend 2000?. What am i supposed to do..??

yeah.. i'll do that if issue crops up again. Bcz it occurs not that frequently, it will be really tough explaining the issue to Nokia care guys.. its been 10 months already and my nokia care still can't see purple patches in my display...

NOKIA 5610- 10 PROBLEMS!

Hello everybody this is my first post. I have a Nokia 5610 I bought 1 month ago and I want to describe the main dis advantages I can see in this phone.. Please comment if you own one with your opinions on what to do. help, or anything to add...
1. No SECURITY , you cant make the phone ask you for security code when you turn the phone.. This is a major flaw considering ALL my previous cell phones had this.. So if they steal your phone or someone wants to use it there is no barriers.. Really bad.
2. No InCall timer. This is amazing from nokia how can they release a phone that does not have the option of showing how long you've been talking??? This is really bad, you can choose "call resume" function which shows you the time at the end of the call but its not the same.
3. NO FLASH as LIGHT! what is this?? I mean how come it has such a great light to be used as flash and you cant use it as flashlight?? how many times you are in a dark situation? I was used to take out my phone and spare some light. (keys, dark stairs, ect.. even shooting video at night.) Well.. not possible.
4.MICRO USB .. Why??? why didint you just stay with miniUSB?? Why micro?? who uses micro? nobody.. so if you lost that cable its really hard to get and you cant charge it (phone )through a computer so its useless.. This slot is useful just to connect the computer to a PC.. Attention ; The charger is a different slot.
5. No 3.5mm jack.. so you cant connect your normal headphones you have to connect the nokia ones or use an adapter..
6.No Auto lock keypad.. You have to manually lock the keypad every time .
7.No battery warning signal.. There is no absolute sing of the battery telling you its going to finish.. No red line , no sound (MO), no screen message.. (SE) , no nothing.. you just go to sleep and wake up the phone has been with no battery since you who knows... you put it in your pocket go out.. check it a 2 am .. absolutely dead.. with no warning..
8. No MAPS,..
9. No searching songs or artist title through the numbers keyboard .. so stupid.. you have a thousand songs and you have to scroll allll the way down .. wouldn't it be quicker to just press the 1st letter??
10.Cant send SMS from the phonebook menu.. Im sorry but this is really retarded, you see the options of a contact on the phonebook list and theres 10 options but no "send sms" option.
So prepare to go to SMS menu and then not even scroll but ADD new recipient.. i mean **bleep**??
The rest is pretty decent.. nice sound , quality of images, interface, speed...
But nokia please!! cant you release a software update at least??

My Reply: This feature is available at the Settings menu which you can change the setting of security.. there's 2 option there, if i'm not mistaken..It requires u to insert the securit code.. and for changes of sim card, it do requires the security phone unlock code.. maybe u might mislook the function there.. check it out..

My Reply: Correct me if i'm wrong, do u mean "Call Duration Timer?" If yes, then as the same judgement as above, you might mislook the function which you may edit settings on the "Call Setting"..

My Reply: Ohh yea.. this could be a fair bid to nokia and consumer then.. there's a reason which why nokia doesn't provide the flash light, although 5610 user knew tht its' flash are bright enuff to shine a darkness.. AS consumer, we have the right to choose which is the phone which suits our lifestyle.. hence, for all future buyer on mobile, make a survey on needs and not trend.. coz it will ends up in unsatisfaction like me though..

My Reply: Ouch.. My fellow bro or sis.. this is the reason as we can see the technology and Nokia always comes out with a New..New..New.. mobile.. the technology never ends.. As mentioned earlier.. Nokia packages its' theme and concept or personality for each phone.. This Nokia 5610 is meant for music lover.. which there's fast key for any music turn on/of.. and its speaker.. As for consumer, we hv to knows wut we want and wut is the budget of any purchase.. Nokia comes out with quite of models which can cope with the consumer needs as of:-GPS; N95 8Gb, Navigator or etc..

My Reply: Correct me if i'm wrong, do u mean tht through contacts, u would like to send a SMS..? If is, then u might miss a step tht makes u think tht u can't send any SMS though contacts.. I'll list down a few step below;-
1. Go to Contacts or press the "down" key
2. Choose any of your Pals name / number
3. Press on the name selected
4. You'll see your pal's name and number at the full screen
5. Press again the menu/ option
6. You'll see the list of option, "Send Message"
*** For an ex user of Nokia 5610, My main concern is their conponent as off the left/right slide radio on/off button .. In software, there's no issue for me.. nmw, advise as a user, purchase the right phone which caters your personality and needs.. It will gives u the positive bout Nokia technology..

Software version difference on Nokia 5610???

what is the difference of the version 9.40 and version 10.00 on the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic cause mine has 9.40(updated last august 2010{extended warranty till 2011})..
*does 10.00 make the 5610's speaker more powerful/clearer/or make the sound quality even better or louder??
*does 10.00 doesn't appear any white screens or black screens when in use..
*does it make faster than 9.40 when opening folders,go to music player(like when you set the musicplayer theme to default when you slide the slider key to the music player it appears fastly but set it to themes like sine vaves etc..when you slide it(slider key)it shows black for just milli sec. then the musicplayer will appear same with the radio).this is the problem on 9.40
*how about setting the video in full screen in 9.40 the problem(bug)is still there the choppy sound(sometimes choppy) the back(word back button coz it is like the back word button is something like dot dots)
*a new music player theme ,new games aside of snake..rally 3d and tower bloxx
*battery life??camera quality??
*saving contact number when you press save the phone will show what kind of type will you save..mobile..home..tel...etc...

how about sound quality??why it doesnt affect the camera quality..cause i has a cousin who owned a 5610 just like mine..i compare the camera(with flash)..and i saw that my cousins 5610 is overexposed(5610d-1 v5.??) and mine has better quality with flash(9.40) how bout 10..and some says the sound quality of the 5610 in v10.00 had been improved.
