  • HELP! Why is the music sounding distorted

Hi there, so i put on all music on the ipod, and two days later it is sounding all distorted and garbled, do i have to take it all off and start again? This ipod nano sure has its imperfections...thanx

    The equalizer might be on.
On the nano, even if the equalizer is set to off in the iPod settings, the equalizer setting in iTunes is used. If you have a track in iTunes with a custom EQ set to, say, "rock" the iPod will use rock. It may sound fine though the computer speakers but not so good though the earbuds.
Not all iPods are consistent about how they use the per track EQ settings from iTunes. On a 5G iPod, for example, setting the EQ on the iPod to off means it plays everything flat.
You could try setting the EQ on the iPod nano to "flat" while the song in question is playing. If that clears it up you should set that song to use a flat EQ in iTunes. Then it will always play like that on the nano.
Most modern music doesn't need equalization and adding it usually makes music sound distorted and garbled.

  • Using Airport Express and music sounds distorted.....

I just hooked up my airport express to my whole house stereo and the music sounds distorted.  I've adjusted the volume on the amplifier, the room volume control and the computer volume control.....and it still sounds distorted.  Any ideas on what I can do?

Temporarily, plug a pair of headphones into the AirPort Express and check the sound quality. It is OK, you know that everything is working through the AirPort Express.
Often the audio plug will make poor contact with the audio jack on the Express which can cause a hum or intermiitent audio signal. Wiggle the plug around to see if this might be the case. You may need to try another audio cable.
Make sure that you are not plugging into a PHONO input on the amplifier. You would want to use AUX or CD or even TAPE would work if you have an older amplifier/receiver.

  • Music/sound distortion

Since I upgraded to iOS 7, all of the music and sounds on my iPad are completely distorted. Music sounds horrible. Has anyone else noticed this, and when will a fix be available???

Found an answer elsewhere here! Hold down the home and hold buttons until the Apple logo appears. This resets the iPad and fixed the distortion!

  • Audio sound distorted since 10.6.3 and Pro Apps 2010-01 - bug iTuneshelper

As of OS X 10.6.3 and Pro Apps Update 2010-01 (FPC 7.0.2) I was encountering in both video sound and music sound tracks odd and somewhat unpredictable audio distortion (wrong pitch and left and right stereo sound running out of sync).
This problem seemed to pop up around the end of March 2010.
I have determined that it is related to iTunes 9.0 which has placed in my startup items iTunesHelper which is a startup item, just after AdobeResourcesSynchronizer, iChat and Stickies. I am not certain if it is the order of the startup that introduces the problem or the version of iTunes (which currently is now 9.1).
If you have this item in your startup, just delete it and perhaps your audio problems will go away.
    Don

Had the same exact problem. Just got off the phone with Apple Support. The tech asked me to create a test administrator account under Accounts in Systems Preferences. Then log out of account you are currently using and log in to the test account. If you are like me then you will find Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat under Applications. Open Adobe Reader and choose to update it. I actually did not have to choose anything as the program began to update both itself and Acrobat Pro automatically. It will take about 10 minutes, depending on speed of internet and computer speed. Once completed, then logout and log back into your normal administrator account. Both programs should now be updated and you can use them. Delete the test administrator account you created. And, good luck on that school work.

  • Music sounds distorted

Ok, so someone stole my 30gb video ipod. I was able to get a 60gb video ipod from a friend. I plugged the 60 gb into my itunes that i was using for my old ipod and transferred all of my songs onto the 60gb. However, now when I play songs on my 60gb the songs sound distorted but they weren't that way on the 30gb....
So, is it a problem with my itunes (trying to load too much at one time), or is it a problem with my computer (computer too slow to handle all that activity at once) or is it a problem with the ipod itself?

Sometimes iTunes won't be able to handle a lot of music (50 or more) so try not to transfer big hunks of music. Also check to make sure the EQ isnt on like Bass Booster of something, set it to like off or flat. This is not a problem with your computer. If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with your headphones. Sorry to hear that happened to you.

  • My Music Sounds Distorted Upon DVD Playback

Anytime I create a movie and burn it in iDVD, I have to drop the movie in as a slideshow in order to keep the aspect ration and not have portions of my picture and text cutoff on the tv. The problem however is that when I play my movie the music is always very distorted, as if it was recorded at too high a volume.
In the slideshow option I have moved the volume all the way down to (min) but still find I get a distorted playback sound. Can anyone offer up suggestions?

Figured I'd bump this back up and hope for suggestions. Really dont want to have to go back to PC for this stuff. Ugh!

  • Sound distortion since OS upgrade?

Am I imagining it, or has anyone else noticed a deterioration in sound quality during phone calls since the latest OS upgrade?
    I have a BB 9300 3G and the OS is 6.0 bundle 2949.
The sound is fine on speaker and on headset, just a slight distortion on the handset which I am convinced started after the latest upgrade last week.

Thanks for the suggestions - I had done them all except dropping back on QuickTimes - I was already at 16 bit and have backed it off to 8 bit. At least this morning Eric Clapton is stuttering c-c-c-c-cocaine. It does seem better.
I am still having the problem with large applications impacting iTunes - but knowing this is a bug and not a problem I am having with my PC, I have stopped hyperventilating.
    Stay tuned (no pun intended)

  • Sound distortion since flash player update

since the update a few months ago the flash on our site distorts sound quite badly. They are small sound files taken from the database. There were no problems before the update and it seems many people have had and still have a problem so I think the problem is with the player but Im wondering if there is anything that can be done in the flash to get around this?

I had the same problem(I couldn´t see myself neither the other person, but the other person could see me).
I have solved it doing this:
Log into your Gmail account > Settings > Labs. Enable Video Chat Enhancement lab. Save change. Restart Gmail. Test video.
And now I can see myself and the other person.

  • Strange sound distortion since update (but only some files and Bluetooth)

    Hello Community!
My Xperia Z1 compact got updated to Lollipop (14.5.A.0.242) this morning. Moreover, the Walkman got updated to 8.5.A.3.3. From then onwards, some music files are distorted when played with Walkman, but only when played via Bluetooth.
This does not happen when played with another player (tested with VLC app). It seems to be also restricted to a special file type. Nearly all my music is stored with AAC. The files that have the problem are however only the AAC files that use the profile HE-AAC (AAC+ i.e. with SBR). If I remember it correctly, I created these files with Winamp.
Could you please look into this problem? I like the Walkman player more than Google Music or VLC and don't want to convert all my HE-AAC music to something else.
If you need any more information, do not hesitate to ask. Best regards and thanks in advance,
    Mattes

  • With EQ music sounds distorted

I have to warn you that my english is not so good, so I will write it in spanish too if you want to translate. Thanks.
Well, I bought a new iPod nano 3G 8gb 2 days ago, and I discovered that using an EQ preset, bass sounds distoted. I upraded to 1.0.3 but it still distorting. I know that it's a problem of the iPod or its software. What can I do? Thanks
Gracias

I'm afraid this is a common problem (happens on every iPod model that I've owned -- that's five different models -- early 2nd generation iPod, shuffle 1, shuffle 2, iPhone, and nano). Basically, any of the equalizers that boost the bass frequencies will distort when playing at anything other than the very lowest volume settings. Of course, the source material affects the results as any bass heavy recording will have more of a problem. I suspect this happens because the iPods don't have enough output power to cleanly drive such high levels of bass. In fact, I suspect this is a common problem on a lot of MP3 players (not just the iPods).
The workaround (if you want to call it that) is to use only the mildest forms of equalization and then keep the volume levels fairly low. Because of this I almost never use equalization on the iPods. A better solution is just to use a set of headphones that are both efficient (low power) and which have better bass response. For that purpose I can recommend either the Koss Porta Pros or the Sennheiser PX100s (note, these are headband style, on-the-ear type headphones, NOT earbuds).

  • My ipad sound is very distorted since I upgraded to ios 7.03

My sound has become terribly distorted since I wirelessly upgraded my ipad (the "new" ipad) to ios 7.03 this afternoon.. My sound is very important to me, because of a visual disablity.  I use my ipad mainly for podcasts and audiobooks. Other than that, I use the narrator feature most of the time.  I am really hindered by the voices being too distorted to listen to. Please advise. thanks.

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou!  it worked perfectly!
