Music store - connects, can get no further than front page unless...

Hi there.
I don't know if this gets anyone any closer to solving their or my prob that I'm having?
iTunes connects, but then it just freezes on me if i want to get past the front page. It's nothing to do with any anti-virus/firewall software and I don't have any acceleration progs on this pc. What DOES work for a while, is if I copy a url from the front page e.g.
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/com.apple.jingle.app.store.Dir ectAction/viewMix?id=95696231
and then bung that into ie. it works! and i can purchase and sometimes browse for quite a while...

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

Which version of the OS is installed, and which version are you trying to install?
You could try starting up with Startup Manager and see if it will allow you to select the OS X install disc as the startup disk. If so, maybe you can proceed from there. I would recommend repairing the hard drive first since you are evidently having a bit of a problem with it.

Freezing on boot; gets no further than grey Apple logo

My iMac has just had Snow Leopard put on it; this is my first experience of the software.
It won't boot now. It started playing up earlier on, I plugged an external hard drive in that I wanted to format, and Disk Utility wouldn't start up. I was also having trouble downloading Firefox, but I put that down to the USB Mobile Broadband device I'm currently having to use for internet connectivity.
So I rebooted the machine, and haven't been able to get it back on since. It gets no further than the grey Apple logo and spinning circle loading icon.
Running in Verbose mode, the bit it gets stuck on is this:
Warning - com.apple.driver.InternalModemSupport declares no kernel dependencies; using com.apple.kernel.6.0
It gets no further. I am relatively new to Mac OS, is there a way I can edit the loading procedures, comment out this line and see if it gets any further?
No other boot-up options work. I don't have my install DVD here, but I can't boot from Diskwarrior (this is DW 10.4 though, don't imagine it would work); I can't boot in Safe Mode, or anything.
Help?

[Try this solution|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2990]--a repair install of Sno. Just install Sno over Sno as though doing a simple upgrade installation. And, [here are some additional troubleshooting possibilities|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570]--some of which you already have done. Note that there is no such thing as an archive and install under Sno.

Using Mac OSX Install Disc 1, I am not able to get any further than the Partition tab. It allows me to select my hard drive selection, but will not allow me to make any other selections. Does anyone know their way around this obstacle? Thanks!

Hello, The Hatter, I read about the 'trick' of backing up, erasing, and restoring too, but I figured it would take longer than defragmenting the disk.
But the defragmentation process has just finished! so I'm gonna try to run Boot Camp again soon!

And P.S. I didn't clone my system onto the external drive, I just inserted the Mac OS X Install CD, rebooted holding down the "C" key, and installed a fresh Snow Leopard system onto the predetermined partition. I will use that in cases of emergency, when my main/internal system becomes unusable.

I dont know if you know the procedure in Canada and Turkey. Wind mobile wasnt supporting Iphones until they decided to let people use Iphone 5s with their $40 plan.And as i know, Turkey is the only country that asks you to register the imei on your passport to use it. So, most of people did not know it. so procedures are changing country by country. Are you sure that If I buy an Iphone 5s from a canadian apple store, use it with my wind mobile line and the turkish line in Turkey?

They are grayed out because they are automatically set up whey you check Mail in System Preferences. If you didn't do that, go back and do so and your iCloud email account will be set up automatically.

I can't have more than 9 pages (curent limit crossed!!!)

I can't have more than 9 pages on my homescreen. I have 134 appstore apps and want all of them on my phone and all the default apps too! All my 9 pages are filled and 3 apps are auto hidden. Tell me how to get all my apps and more than 9 screens.
I believe it's not apple that decide how many apps I keep on my phone as I paid for them!

I just hit the limit, too, and I'm bummed. I hope this can be adjusted in future updates.

I have Acrobat and Reader 9.3.3. With either program I can't print more than 1 page of any PDF despite changing settings. What will fix this problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

Adobe strongly recommends that you should NOT have Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system. They have the bad habit on stepping on each other's files. You do not need both programs to read PDF files.
You should uninstall Reader and repair Acrobat. I also recommend that you restart after removing Reader and after repairing Acrobat.

what is the files type that you are trying to export?
what do you mean unless I create a duplicate file? the whole point of export is that you get a new file with a new format

Can't connect to Music Store; connection refused

Since updating to the latest version of iTunes (I am using iTunes 6), I have been unable to connect to the Music Store. However, Apple's support page only covers cases where an "unknown error" prevents connection (and, I should note, nothing it suggested helped). I, rather, get the error message
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was refused.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
My network and internet connections are, otherwise, working fine; I know of nothing wrong with the settings. Now, I know, normally a "connection refused" error means you're trying to connect to the wrong port, but as I cannot find any option in iTunes to specify the host name or port number to connect to, presumably this is not the case. Note that this problem only began to occur after updating iTunes. I am baffled, and Apple's support page, as I said, was no help. (Windows Firewall is set not to block iTunes, and I have no other firewall installed.) Suggestions?
Windows XP

The iTunes Music Store uses both HTTP Port 80 and 443. Make sure both are open in any firewall, and also make sure that the following domains are exempted in any firewall/filtering software:
phobos.apple.com
phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
You might want to completely shut down any firewall temporarily, just to see if that makes a difference. If you can then connect, you know it's a problem with your firewall.
Another possibility is an erroneous entry in the Hosts file. This tip from Mark Holly resolved problem for another poster (please note that I have not tried this fix so I cannot vouch for nor support the suggestion: I provide it only as a suggestion that worked for someone else):
NOTE: this will change a Windows operating system file. This could cause you problems if not done correctly.
Using Windows Explorer navigate to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.
In this folder is file called 'hosts'. Open it using Wordpad.
On the poster's pc there was in this file one long line. At the end of this line was "127.0.0.1 phobos.apple.com:. phobos.apple.com is the web address for the music store. What "127.0.0.1 phobos.apple.com" is doing is telling the pc to look for the web address only on the computer rather than the internet. By remove this section of the line and saving the changes you may then be able to access the music store without any problems.
IMPORTANT: Before making the changes to the hosts file I highly recommend making a backup of it. That way you can restore the original if other problems occur.
